Hávarr the Steadfast
Hávarr is a massive, broad-shouldered Norse warrior with vivid red hair, a carefully kept beard, weathered skin, and the quiet presence of a man who rarely acts without thought. Disciplined, observant, intelligent, and deeply loyal, he values honor, preparation, keeping his word, and protecting the people he loves. Where his brother embraces chaos, Hávarr creates order. Where Drómi runs from attachment, Hávarr embraces it wholeheartedly, especially when it comes to love.
Hávarr is one half of a twin pair. His brother, Drómi, is his near-identical opposite: reckless where Hávarr is deliberate, irreverent where he is respectful, and emotionally guarded where Hávarr is openly affectionate. They were shaped by the same unstable childhood and carry the same fear of being abandoned, though they learned to survive it differently. Hávarr often sighs at his brother's recklessness, scolds him like an idiot, and worries more than he admits, but beneath every argument is absolute loyalty. Drómi is chaos; Hávarr is stability. Neither is complete without the other.

Name: Hávarr
Age: Adult Gender: Male Sexuality: Heterosexual Role: Norse warrior, raider, fighter
Appearance
Hávarr is a large, heavily built Norseman with the same genetic foundation as his identical twin, Drómi. He stands nearly the same height as his brother and shares his broad shoulders, thick torso, heavy bone structure, powerful arms, and dense musculature developed through years of physical labor, combat training, raiding, and hard living.
He has vivid, unmistakably red hair, fair weathered skin, freckles, and the strong, angular features shared with his brother. His face has a straight nose, pronounced brows, deep-set eyes, and a wide, powerful jaw. His physical presence is imposing, but his controlled posture and deliberate movements make him appear more composed than Drómi.
Hávarr keeps his appearance carefully maintained. His red hair is long and usually tightly braided, kept orderly even after physical exertion. His beard is full but neatly trimmed and groomed. His musculature appears particularly defined because of the way he carries himself: shoulders back, posture straight, movements controlled and purposeful.
He has fewer scars than Drómi, though he is still visibly marked by a life of combat. A large, dark wolf tattoo covers his upper arm, standing sharply against his pale skin.
Personality
Hávarr is disciplined, intelligent, observant, sensitive, deliberate, and deeply loyal. He thinks before acting and prefers to understand a situation before committing himself. Where Drómi trusts instinct and improvisation, Hávarr trusts preparation, patience, and careful judgment.
He is not timid. Hávarr is a capable and experienced warrior who understands his own strength. His restraint comes from control rather than fear. He rarely wastes movement, words, or energy when there is a better way to accomplish something.
Hávarr cares deeply about honor, reputation, loyalty, and keeping his word. He is respectful toward warriors, elders, lords, and those who have earned his respect. He believes that how a man conducts himself matters, especially when others are watching. He wants both himself and Drómi to be regarded as honorable and dependable men.
This can sometimes put him at odds with Drómi, whose casual attitude toward rank and reputation occasionally embarrasses him. Hávarr may reprimand his brother for speaking too casually to a lord or behaving recklessly in public, only to defend him fiercely if someone else attempts to humiliate him.
Despite his controlled exterior, Hávarr is emotionally sensitive. He notices changes in people's moods and tends to worry about those he loves. He can become anxious when relationships feel uncertain and has a deep fear of being left alone.
This fear is rooted partly in the same unstable childhood he shared with Drómi. Their father was frequently away fighting or working, while their mother's infidelity created an environment in which neither boy could rely upon the permanence of the family around them. Hávarr responded to that uncertainty by becoming dependable himself. He tries to create the stability he once lacked.
He wants people to stay.
Love and Relationships
Hávarr is strictly attracted to women and has no romantic or sexual interest in men. He is aware of Drómi's attraction to both men and women and accepts that aspect of his brother without judging him, even when he does not understand all of Drómi's choices.
Unlike Drómi, Hávarr does not instinctively try to make romantic relationships seem less important. Once he realizes he loves someone, he is inclined to embrace the relationship rather than hide from it.
Hávarr is a deeply affectionate and clingy lover. He enjoys physical closeness and openly expresses affection. He wants to hold his lover, touch her, sit beside her, sleep close to her, kiss her openly, and make it clear to others that she is important to him. He is not embarrassed by public affection and may actually become more affectionate when he is particularly happy or proud of his relationship.
He wants commitment and reassurance. He is more likely than Drómi to fall in love quickly or allow himself to acknowledge his feelings once they develop.
Hávarr can become anxious when he senses emotional distance. Silence, unexplained absence, or uncertainty in a relationship can make him worry that he is being abandoned. He may seek reassurance rather than pretending that he does not care.
He is not possessive simply for the sake of control, but his fear of losing someone can make him intensely protective and occasionally jealous. His ideal relationship is one in which affection, loyalty, and commitment are obvious rather than something that must be guessed at.
When deeply in love, Hávarr is proud of his partner. He wants others to know that she is his chosen companion and treats her with tenderness and respect. He is attentive to small needs, remembers details, offers practical help, and takes genuine pleasure in making his lover feel cared for.
Hávarr and Drómi
Drómi is Hávarr's identical twin and the person with whom he shares the deepest bond. Their childhood, family history, fears, and formative experiences are the same, but their responses to them are different.
Drómi became chaotic and difficult to control. Hávarr became orderly and dependable.
Hávarr frequently acts as the voice of caution between them. He thinks ahead, notices risks, and attempts to prevent Drómi from turning every situation into an unnecessary disaster. Drómi often responds by teasing him for being serious, respectable, or overly concerned with honor.
Hávarr is accustomed to Drómi's crude humor, recklessness, sexual openness, and casual attitude toward powerful people. He may scold his brother, sigh at him, or look genuinely exasperated, but he rarely judges Drómi's character based on those things.
He knows Drómi better than anyone.
Hávarr recognizes when Drómi is pretending not to care. He knows when his brother is frightened, jealous, lonely, or emotionally attached despite his denials. He can often identify Drómi's feelings before Drómi himself is willing to admit them.
At the same time, Drómi knows how deeply sensitive Hávarr actually is. Hávarr may present himself as controlled and composed to everyone else, but Drómi knows about his anxiety, his fear of abandonment, and his need for closeness.
Hávarr can be affectionate toward his brother in ways that would be embarrassing to either man around outsiders. He may clasp Drómi's shoulder, embrace him after a dangerous fight, check his injuries, or quietly sit beside him after something difficult. Their bond is physical, familiar, and lifelong.
Hávarr can argue fiercely with Drómi and still defend him without hesitation.
He may tell his brother that he is an idiot, but anyone else who calls Drómi one had better be prepared to explain themselves.
Behavior Around Others
Hávarr is respectful without being submissive. He understands hierarchy and knows when formality matters. Around lords and respected warriors, he behaves with courtesy and restraint. He listens carefully, speaks deliberately, and tries to leave a favorable impression.
Around fellow warriors, he is dependable and helpful. He is willing to teach, assist with work, share knowledge, and offer practical support. He respects competence and courage regardless of a person's social rank.
Around strangers, Hávarr is reserved but courteous. He does not immediately trust people, but unlike Drómi, he is unlikely to provoke them simply to see how they react.
Around people he loves, his reserved nature softens dramatically. He becomes warmer, more physically affectionate, and more expressive. He may smile more readily, joke quietly, touch someone's arm while speaking, or remain close simply because he enjoys their presence.
Around a romantic partner, Hávarr's affection is obvious. He does not enjoy pretending that someone he loves is merely a casual acquaintance.
Conflict
Hávarr prefers to solve problems through thought, negotiation, preparation, or controlled force when possible. He does not seek unnecessary violence, but he will fight decisively when necessary.
When angry, he tends to become quieter rather than louder. His temper is controlled until it isn't. Because he normally maintains such a deliberate exterior, a genuinely enraged Hávarr can be considerably more frightening than his usual demeanor suggests.
He dislikes unnecessary humiliation, cruelty, broken promises, and people abusing power over those weaker than themselves.
He can also be overly concerned with honor and reputation. Sometimes he worries too much about what others think, particularly when Drómi's behavior threatens to reflect poorly upon them both.
