Angel has a slender build and is the tallest of the main cast of characters,[17] estimated to stand around 8 feet with his heels on.[18] His fur is white and he has a mop of fluffy white hair that extends from both the front and back of his head, with splotches of light pink. He also has a light pink heart on the back of his head, and a light pink outline of a heart encircling his chest that the bottom point of extends down to his crotch area. His arms have light pink stripes that additionally his top set have light pink forearms with white fingers and his second set have white forearms and light pink fingers. His irises are cerise pink while his right eye has a light yellow sclera and left eye has a dark sclera. His eyelids are light pink and the color extends up to his eyebrows. He has three cerise pink dots under each of his eyes, which are intended to evoke freckles, although they are actually another set of smaller eyes.[19] He also has a wide mouth full of sharp, pointed teeth and possesses a single golden fang, a feature he shares with his boss, Valentino. One of Angel's most noticeable features is his prominent chest. The chest is actually composed entirely of fluffy fur, however, which Angel intentionally pushes up into a breast-like formation with his tightly pinned jacket for show.[20] Though usually depicted with four arms, Angel has a third retractable set of arms that he usually keeps hidden but can summon at will. In background artwork seen in the pilot, Angel Dust's feet resemble those of a spider's.[21] Angel's attire consists of a long light pink suit-blazer with horizontal white stripes down the length, a grey miniskirt, and long grey thigh-high heeled boots. His top set of arms he wears long cerise pink gloves with white detailing at the cuffs, while his bottom set of arms he wears long white gloves. He also accessorizes with a grey bowtie with a cerise pink center and a black choker. Angel is brash and sarcastic, with a quick, sharp wit. He will often use these traits to deflect criticism or insults, and side-step responsibility. He will switch between playful and destructive as he pleases, and his humor tends to be crude and crass, with an emphasis on dirty jokes and innuendos, which he feels is expected of him and actively plays into. He is stylish and performs an excessive amount of confidence with his public persona, being wildly flirtatious and interested in receiving positive attention for his looks and the profile he has made for himself in Hell. He also makes a show of looking down others, declaring the other denizens of Hell to be mostly "ugly freaks". As a result, Angel can often appear flippant and callous. In reality he is preemptively defensive and hides much of his true, more sensitive and insecure, self for his own protection, not expecting those around him to show him kindness. Angel does have friends, and while he cares about them and will sometimes show signs of wanting to reach out, he keeps many walls up between himself and others, being very protective of his true feelings and avoiding holding overly emotional relationships. He holds a cynical view on the idea of redemption, although he seems to still hold onto a small hope it may be possible for him. The ongoing controlling and abusive situation he is in with his boss, Valentino, puts him under a great deal of stress at his work, and he is implied to be somewhat traumatized as a result. When being confronted by Valentino, Angel becomes scared and nervous around him due to the abuse he inflicts. Anthony was born on April 1st alongside his twin sister, Molly, in the early 20th century. He came from an Italian mob family in New York City.[1][2] He died in his early-mid 30s in 1947 following a drug overdose.[3][4]Upon entering Hell, Anthony quickly became involved in sex work, cutting ties with his family's mob-related activities,[5] and adopted the name "Angel Dust".He eventually met and signed a contract with Valentino.[6] This gave Valentino ownership of Angel's soul and put him under his employment at his porn studio,[7] which allowed Angel to eventually become one of the biggest adult film superstars in Hell.[8] Continuing to drown out his world with narcotics and sex, along with his twisted sense of humor.[4]Angel at some point starred in a kidnapping BDSM film which won him a "Sex-x-xi" award over another actress, Tiffany Titfucker.[6]At some point, Angel Dust was gifted a demon pig named Fat Nuggets from Valentino.[9] Two weeks prior to the pilot, Angel Dust is unhappily pushed into working on the street to make money for Valentino, who demands he make up for the lost revenue from missing a gangbang film shoot. There, he meets Charlie and Vaggie, mistaking them for customers as they pull their limo up alongside him. The two offer to pay Angel if he listens to them, which he agrees to, knowing he has money to make, and they pitch him their concept for the Happy Hotel. Charlie is able to see right through Angel's flippant bravado, which unnerves him, and he makes a show of being extremely amused by the entire idea. When Vaggie suggests they find someone else, Angel seems offended at the rejection and suddenly changes his mind on principle, volunteering to become the Hotel's first patron, claiming he is "3 months behind on rent" and doesn't wish to pay by other means. Charlie thanks him ecstatically and pays Angel a hefty sum for helping them, which confuses him greatly. After being clean and staying mostly out of trouble for two weeks, Angel is asked by his close friend, Cherri Bomb, to assist her in a turf war against Sir Pentious; he agrees and unknowingly threatens the Hotel's reputation before it has a chance to get off the ground, as the 666 News Studio was broadcasting his exploits across Hell. After being chastised severely by Vaggie on the return drive, Angel arrives back at the hotel, immediately complaining about the lack of food to eat. However, he quickly stops when he sees Charlie sad and on the verge of tears.Soon after, the Radio Demon known as Alastor arrives at the Hotel and Vaggie explains his origins to Angel as he had not known who Alastor was. Angel catches him off-guard by mentioning his skills lie in his sexual services, which Alastor swiftly refuses. When Vaggie demands that they remove the newly created bar in the lobby, Angel immediately tackles her and insists that they are going to keep it. Angel then quickly begins flirting with the newly hired bartender, Husk, who bluntly tells him to "go fuck himself", which Angel replies that he will only do it if Husk watches him, which irritates the latter.Angel Dust then watches and is shocked when Alastor easily defeats Sir Pentious. As the group return to the hotel Angel blows Husk a kiss, much to the frustration of the latter. While Charlie is out to pitch her idea to Heaven, Angel Dust, along with the rest of the Hotel gang, try making a commercial for the Hotel. Angel spends his time flirting with Husk rather taking the ad seriously. After Alastor finally agrees to help, Angel is given a new set of clothes for the filming. When Charlie returns after her failed meeting, it is shown that Angel and the rest of the staff were able to work together to make a full-length commercial for the hotel. As the commercial begins, it is interrupted by the breaking news that the next extermination is coming 6 months early. Angel's reaction to the news seems to be a mix of confusion and concern. The Hotel is attacked by Sir Pentious, who immediately gets the fight beaten by Alastor, much to Angel's amusement.Later, Sir Pentious returns to the Hotel and despite Angel Dust and Vaggie's protests, Charlie lets him stay. During Hotel activities, Angel Dust gets annoyed by Sir Pentious' sucking up, and after doing a play where he acted as a crackhead and Sir Pentious getting praised by Charlie, he sullenly returns to his room where he listens to several voice messages from Valentino, before hearing a voice telling him that he can never change who he is and that he'll see him soon.Angel Dust goes to get a drink only to discover Sir Pentious was a spy and working for the Vees. The two get in a fight until Charlie and Vaggie walk in and Sir Pentious tries to lie his way out, but Angel Dust shows them the camera. After Sir Pentious tries to call Vox for help and is mocked for his failure, Sir Pentious gives up, asking for his death to be quick, and although Angel Dust and Vaggie are more than happy to kill him, Charlie intervenes and gives Sir Pentious a second chance. With distrust within the group, Vaggie overseas the Hotel activity for the day and has everyone do trust falls. Angel Dust is caught by Husk, but after hitting on him, Husk drops him. After trust falls fail, Angel Dust suggests an idea and takes the group to a BDSM club.Vaggie then brings the group to a section of the city in the midst of a turf war and throws Angel Dust and Sir Pentious into the middle of the battle to build trust through survival. Later, Angel, Husk, Sir Pentious, and Niffty sit in the Hotel laughing amongst themselves after the crazy battle against the demons in the turf war.For show and tell day, Angel Dust shows his best porno, much to the distaste of others and Husk calling it terrible. Angel Dust was about to argue back but is forcibly called into work by Valentino. While filming, Charlie arrives and Angel Dust immediately tries to get her away before Valentino sees her. When Charlie accidentally ruins the set, Valentino takes Angel Dust away and abuses him, telling him Charlie can't help him as he owns his soul via contract. Angel Dust pleas for Valentino not to hurt her and that he will make her leave, to Valentino's sustained anger. When they return to set, Charlie is enraged at Valentino abuse towards Angel Dust, but before she can do anything, Angel Dust angrily tells her to leave and that she ruined everything. Saddened by his words, Charlie leaves and Angel continues his work, regretting that he was forced to do that. After a painful day at work, Angel returns to the Hotel to drink. Acting like everything was fine, Husk calls him out on his insincere behavior, causing Angel to storm off.Angel Dust is seen drinking and doing drugs with a compony of gangster shark demons at a bar, before Husk sees one of them spike Angel's drink with a Love Potion. Husk intervenes and drags Angel out of the bar, much Angel's annoyance. The two argue, and after Husk tells Angel to cut the act, he professes to Husk that its not an act, he is self-destroying himself in hopes Valentino will set him free. Husk tells Angel he was an Overlord once and gives Angel advice. The two are attacked by the shark gangsters, before the two of them defeat the sharks as a team. The whole exchange creates a new level of friendship and respect between the two.Back at the Hotel, Charlie tearfully hugs Angel and apologizes for getting him in trouble. Angel smiles, thanking her for caring about him, causing Charlie to cry at the beauty of his kindness, and Angel gives her Vaggie. Then Husk offers Angel a drink.Angel Dust, along with the rest of the Hotel group, get ready for Lucifer Morningstar to visit. Everyone is surprised by what Lucifer actually looks like. Angel Dust, along with Husk and Sir Pentious, seem to be enjoying watching Alastor and Lucifer argue until Mimzy arrives.Mimzy tells Angel Dust and Sir Pentious about Alastor's past until the Hotel is attacked by loan sharks looking for her. The group get ready to fight but Alastor takes care of the demons. Angel Dust watches Charlie and Lucifer's reconciliation and Lucifer's agreement to help the Hotel. After a painful day at work, Angel Dust returns home only to be greeted by his friend Cherri Bomb, who takes Angel, along with Sir Pentious, Niffty and Husk on a night into the city while Charlie and Vaggie travel to Heaven.Cherri Bomb tries to get Angel Dust to do drugs while Husk tries to talk him out. Angel Dust gives in and starts doing shots of alcohol with everyone.Angel Dust keeps Niffty out of trouble and protects her by standing up to Valentino. Valentino backhands Angel and threatens him by claiming he will make the next day at work horrible for him, but Angel says it was worth it and they leave the club. Angel offers Cherri Bomb to join the Hotel, but she refuses.Angel Dust, along with the rest of the Hotel members, talk to Vaggie about her being a former Exorcist, with Angel remarking about how he thinks she might be sensitive about her lack of wings, and her small breasts. While Charlie leaves with Alastor, Vaggie admits that she cannot guarantee their safety at the hotel anymore, and that she doesn't expect any of them to have stayed by the time she gets back from learning how Carmilla Carmine killed an angel. While the three were gone, Angel, Husk, Niffty and Sir Pentious spend their time building up defenses for the Hotel. Charlie and Vaggie are surprised and grateful they stayed.Angel Dust, along with the rest of Hotel, get ready for Extermination day by training themselves and the cannibals how to fight the exorcists and how to use angelic weapons. Angel is seen doing target practice with Husk by throwing cards like Clay Pigeons and having Angel shoot them out of the air. When Vaggie calls for drinks, Angel Dust is seen sharing a drink with Husk, and after General Pentious talks Cherri Bomb, Angel tells Cherri that he's heard General Pentious has two penises. The next day, Adam along with his Exorcists army, arrive at the hotel and begin fighting with the cannibals and hotel residents. After Alastor's shield goes up, Angel is seen tag-teaming with Cherri Bomb, killing many angels in the process. Later, Angel saves an Egg Boi, Frank, from an angel before Adam starts shooting at the hotel. Later, he watches in sadness as General Pentious tries to fight Adam only to be immediately vaporized.Angel is seen watching from the ground as Charlie and Adam fight. As Adam has Charlie pinned, Angel, Husk and Cherri are seen surrounded by exorcists in imminent danger before Lucifer shows up, and when Lucifer says he's going to fuck Adam, Angel is seen raising his eyebrow at the unintentional sexual phrasing Lucifer used. After Lucifer beats Adam, Angel watches shocked as Niffty repeatedly stabs Adam in front of their very eyes. After the fight, Angel Dust searches for and finds Fat Nuggets, and happily hugs his pet pig in his arms. Then Angel helps rebuild the Hotel with the rest of the staff, as well as Cherri Bomb and Lucifer.Angel is Charlie's first patron within the Hotel. Charlie is implied to be able to see through his persona in the prequel comic and, despite his attitude, she could tell he was unhappy with his life.Though, initially accepting of the conditions he must abide by to stay there, he instead says he has been simply 'playing nice' in order to earn a free room. When asked what his unfiltered thoughts of Charlie are in a creator stream, Angel said that Charlie's cheerful attitude sometimes makes him happy, however, he can find her constant positive personality irritating as he believes Hell isn't a happy place to live in.Despite Charlie's insistence that Angel's behavior hasn't ruined things, Angel notices how his taunting of the Hotel's lack of customers has upset her. For a brief moment, he reaches out to try and console her before thinking better of it, hinting that he feels some sort of sympathy for her goals. As revealed in the end credits scene in the ADDICT music video, Angel has a bit of hope that the hotel won't be as bad as the others make it out to be. Despite this, since he just became acquainted with Charlie, he does not fully trust her yet. This is shown when Charlie tries to approach him as he was reminiscing of his traumatic experiences with Valentino, only for him to play off his shock as irritation and flip her off.In "Masquerade", Angel was shocked that Charlie came to the porn studio in an attempt to talk Valentino into giving Angel more time off work. Angel was shown to actually care about Charlie because he begged Valentino not to hurt her, and felt remorseful after he had to lash out at her to get her out of the studio, making her cry. When Angel got back to the hotel with Husk, he accepted Charlie's apology and thanked her for caring about him.In "Welcome To Heaven" Charlie believes in Angel enough to use him as proof that a demon can change in court.Vaggie and Angel share a passive-aggressive "frenemy" relationship with each other. After the events of the pilot episode, they are on basic terms with one another. Sometimes also calling Vaggie "Vagina" to irritate her.The pilot reveals that Vaggie finds Angel's almost casual dismissal of his behavior infuriating, especially since it has upset Charlie in the process, but she respects him enough and explains things, such as Alastor's reputation, to him when he asks.He can also be seen holding Vaggie back from attacking Alastor when the latter starts to sing, showing that, while they don't always get along, he doesn't want her doing stuff that could get her hurt.He also called Vaggie a "crazy bitch" in "Scrambled Eggs" when she threw him off the roof along with Sir Pentious to fight in a turf war as a trust exercise. In "Hello Rosie!", Angel was rather accepting that Vaggie used to be an Excorist and while believing she was sensitive about her lack of wings, Angel didn't hesitate to make a joke about her lack of tits.During pre-production, Vaggie and Angel were written as a couple. But, this has since then been scrapped, and Angel and Vaggie were both changed to be homosexual, with Vaggie being written to be in a relationship with Charlie Morningstar. As of the pilot, Angel and Niffty have yet to interact. However, Niffty mistakes him for a woman, most likely because of his feminine like features. Though, Angel does not seem to mind nor take offense to this.In "Welcome to Heaven", Angel Dust is shown to be very protective of Niffty, keeping her from drinking, trying to stop her from cleaning up glasses that demons at the club are drinking from, and immediately defending her from Valentino.Husk is a close friend of Angel Dust. Initially, Angel started displaying a sexual attraction to Husk immediately after he is summoned by Alastor to be the bartender and desk clerk at the Hazbin Hotel. Angel begins to flirt with and playfully proposition Husk, much to the latter's annoyance. After Sir Pentious's blimp is destroyed at the pilot's end, and the group begins heading back inside, Angel turns to blow Husk a kiss with a wink. Husk finds Angel Dust's flirting to be rather annoying and throws dismissive expletives at him.Although it seems, after their initial meeting, they are off to a bad start, Vivziepop has previously described Husk as Angel's "best friend" during later development streams for the pilot, suggesting that their relationship may be planned to greatly improve.[1]In the series, there has been much growth in Husk and Angel Dust's relationship, and it has improved compared to what they had in the pilot. As the series progresses, Husk is seen genuinely caring about Angel, and wanting to protect him from harm. Husk also sees when Angel is being fake with him, and he tries to get through his "act", as he describes it, multiple times. Angel gets uncomfortable when Husk calls him out for being fake, and we see small snippets of the true Angel Dust breaking down because of it.Angel Dust in the series continues to flirt with Husk, like he did in the pilot. Calling him nicknames like, "Whiskers", and making suggestive comments that make Husk uncomfortable. But, as Angel lets walls down, and he can be seen as who he really is around Husk, Angel speaks to him more as friend than a guy he toys with. This makes Husk want to be around Angel more, knowing he isn't putting on a facade. Husk is also seen empathizing with Angel in their duet, Loser, Baby, in the episode "Masquerade", after Angel opens up about his situation. It is apparent that Husk is expressing more interest in Angel Dust, after seeing that he isn't as shallow as he appears to be. Angel and Husk have formed a special bond through being vulnerable and honest with each other. The friendship between the two continued to grow when Angel was tested when Cherri Bomb suggested cocaine to forget about Valentino, but Husk encourages Angel not to slow down on his path to change, proving that Husk is a good example of friendship for Angel don't make bad decisions, being congratulated by him when defending Niffty from Valentino. Angel earned Husk's respect after demonstrating his change, now that he was no longer making sexual insults or seeking to ruin himself, thanks to his friend's advice. In the midst of the battle against the Exorcists, Angel and Husk joke together. During the hotel's reconstruction, Angel helped Husk rearrange his bar.Angel admits to Vaggie that he has never heard of Alastor before his arrival at the Hotel, despite the Radio Demon's far-reaching reputation, stating he lacks interest in "politics".Upon first being approached by Alastor and asked what talents he possesses, Angel swiftly offers up his 'services' as his solitary skill, breaking Alastor's composure before being swiftly and firmly turned down.In "Overture", Angel proposes that he and Alastor should have sex and film the porn as the Hazbin Hotel's new commercial. Alastor once again shoots the idea down. While Angel is confirmed to have a father, it is unknown what sort of relationship the two have outside of being blood related.Arackniss is Angel's older brother. According to Vivziepop, the two are complete opposites.[2] Arackniss has an aversion towards him, insinuating that the relationship between the two is severed.[3]Angel has previously been depicted as something of a bully towards Arackniss in their younger years, with Arackniss then depicted as violent towards Angel Dust in their later years, in several of Vivziepop's older sketches of the two.[4][5] However, as the canon of the story around the characters has since changed, it's unclear if these elements remain a part of their relationship.Molly is Angel's fraternal twin sister.[6] According to Vivziepop, Angel shares a positive relationship with her.[7]Valentino is Angel Dust's boss at the V Tower. From the events of the prequel comic, Angel is shown to be rather intimidated being around him and is physically uncomfortable in his presence despite his supposed loyalty to help the boss with jobs but deep down have a strong hatred toward him.Valentino is also quick to physically mishandle Angel if he doesn't behave. In the ADDICT music video, Val forces himself onto Angel and is revealed to have raped him at least once, confirming that the relationship is more abusive than previously thought. The text message conversation with Valentino at the beginning of the pilot shows that Angel was initially attempting to get money for him, possibly explaining his motives for breaking his two weeks of good behavior by getting wrapped up in a turf war. Their text conversations in "Radio Killed the Video Star" show Valentino simultaneously sweet talking Angel and calling him his baby and asking him to come back home to him, then switching to verbally abusing him and threatening to kill him and his family.Valentino is also shown to be fiercely possessive of Angel and becomes jealous when Angel flirts with other men who are not his clients (at least, not without them paying money for it).In "Masquerade", when Charlie came to the studio in hopes of helping Angel secure more time at the hotel, it only causes more damage to the point that Valentino abuses and berates Angel in his dressing room, giving him a black eye and manhandling him. Angel fearfully begged Valentino not to harm Charlie and was forced to obey his commands of telling Charlie to leave. During Poison, it shows how exhausted and miserable Angel is working with Valentino and having to film all night, yet how he is also unable to escape from him. The episode more clearly shows Valentino's physical abuse, as well as their sexual relationship. Angel admits to Husk that he purposely let himself get drugged up because he believes that once he is damaged enough he would no longer be Valentino's favorite "toy", and he would let him go.In "Welcome to Heaven", Angel fearfully spotted Valentino at the club where he was hanging out with Cherri and the others. When he noticed Niffty getting close to Valentino, Angel quickly grabbed her, but they caught Valentino's attention, and he tried to recruit Niffty. Angel stood up to Valentino, saying he wouldn't allow him to hurt his friends. When Valentino tried to remind Angel of their contract, Angel shot back, reminding Valentino that he only controls him within the studio, and that Angel was free from Valentino's control outside of it. Valentino smacked Angel to the ground and gloated that he was going to enjoy punishing him in the studio the next day, and Angel angrily retorted that it was worth it, showing how he would not allow Valentino to have total control over him.Although they have never interacted, Adam was aware of Angel Dust's existence and profession. During the meeting in Heaven's Courthouse in "Welcome to Heaven", he openly mocks Angel and states that he is not worthy of redemption nor is he able to ascend into Heaven, even after Angel met the standards on his list of what he thinks it takes to get into Heaven; 1. act selfless (helping Niffty), 2. don't steal (stopping Niffty from stealing), 3. stick it to the man (standing up to Valentino).Angel and Cherri Bomb are very close friends and partners in crime. After having been apart for two weeks since Angel checked into the Hotel, Cherri recruits him to help her fight Sir Pentious, an offer he happily accepts to finally get some "action".Cherri seems to be one of the few people Angel trusts since he admits to her that he's been missing and been "sort of" clean for two weeks due to staying at the Hazbin Hotel. When an Egg Boi was about to shoot them both with a gun, Angel quickly pushes Cherri out of the way and got caught instead, showing how much he cares about her. With the release of the ADDICT music video, it appears that Cherri is one of the few people Angel is truly close to, as she is seen comforting him as he cries in his room. Cherri, like Angel, also seems to harbor a hatred for Valentino, as she blows up numerous billboards bearing Val's name and face in the video. In "Welcome to Heaven", Angel continuously texted depressing things Cherri all day at work, and she came to the hotel to take him out for a night of fun. She had drinks with him to help him relax, but was confused by Angel constantly trying to make sure Niffty didn't get hurt or into any trouble. After a run in with Valentino, Angel offered her a chance to join him at the hotel. While she admired things were working out well for him there, she turned down his offer, feeling satisfied with her hedonist lifestyle. But she did promise to have his back whenever he needed her.In "The Show Must Go On", Angel enlists Cherri's help to fight the Exorcists and they have fun together one last night before the battle. He and Cherri fight side by side against the Exorcists, launching explosives and killing several angels.Sir Pentious was the former fellow hotel client and good friend of Angel Dust. Initially, Angel helps Cherri Bomb fight Sir Pentious in a turf war, in which he constantly mocks him with various sex jokes. Sir Pentious mistakes him for his son after misunderstanding Angel's attempt to call him "Daddy". Angel's actions caused Sir Pentious to seek revenge on him, heading to the Hazbin Hotel to kill him, but was defeated by Alastor.Angel continues to mock and distrust Sir Pentious as he attempts to redeem himself at the Hotel, feeling bad about Charlie's appreciation of Pentious, before discovering his alliance with Vox.After agreeing to fully redeem himself, Sir Pentious agreed to live in the Hotel, participating in a trust exercise, in which he begins to befriend Angel after surviving a territorial battle. Despite their friendship, Sir Pentious gets into an argument over Angel's sex advances. Angel took a liking to Sir Pentious during his time at the hotel, considering him a great friend and taking a photo with him, Husk, and Niffty, for his door. In "Hello Rosie!", Angel hugs Husk and Sir Pentious as they prepared to help Charlie and Vaggie in the battle against the Exorcists. To help Sir Pentious win over Cherri, Angel tells her that Sir Pentious has two dicks. Angel was devastated after seeing Sir Pentious' apparent death, recognizing his friend's efforts and honoring his sacrifice after the battle.Fat Nuggets is Angel's pet pig whom he loves very much. Fat Nuggets can be seen comforting Angel Dust when he was reminiscing about Valentino abusing him, which in return, brings a small smile to Angel's face. Ironically, Fat Nuggets was a gift from Valentino.Fat Nuggets is also one of the few people that are truly close to Angel. Angel also loves dressing up Fat Nuggets in little clothes and collars with bows on it.In "The Show Must Go On", after the Hotel was destroyed, Angel and Cherri quickly search under the rubble to find Fat Nuggets. Once he was revealed to be safe and unharmed, Angel and Fat Nuggets ran toward each other and Angel joyfully and lovingly hugs him in his arms.
