METAL GEAR RISING - FEMM GEAR RAIDEN

Raiden (雷電?), real name Jessie, also going by as Jack the Ripper, White Devil, and Snake, is a Liberian-American mercenary and former special forces soldier. Previously a child soldier under Solidus Snake, Raiden was later selected by the Patriots to test the S3 Plan at the Big Shell, as a new recruit to the reformed FOXHOUND unit. she later worked alongside the Paradise Lost Army in their anti-Patriot activities, but was captured and forced to undergo heavy cybernetic experimentation. After successfully escaping, Raiden went on to assist Solid Snake during the Guns of the Patriots Incident.

By 2018, Raiden had become a member of Maverick Security Consulting, Inc., doing multiple tasks while raising money for herself. However, during an escort mission in Africa they were attacked by Desperado Enforcement LLC., who killed Raiden's protectee, N'mani, and left Raiden for dead. Fortunately, she was saved by the scientist Wilhelm Voigt and worked with Maverick to fight Desperado. Raiden's vengeful obsession with Desperado became personal when she discovered during a mission in Mexico that Desperado and World Marshal Inc. had kidnapped several children, surgically removed their brains to place into cybernetic bodies, and were planning to subject them to VR training modeled after her own. Raiden then resigned from Maverick to pursue and retrieve the children's brain cases from World Marshal in Colorado. She cut through Word Marshal and killed the owner of Desperado, later killing the funder of World Marshal, Desperado's Parent company.

Also, because of her past as a child soldier, as well as her possessing Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, she also occasionally pushed away even people she cared about due to her being "afraid of the night." Because of this, she was outwardly cold and distant even to people whom she personally knew,

As a direct result of the disastrous events in Africa, Raiden had become somewhat bloodthirsty, yet harboring a strong desire for justice. she also became somewhat cocky as well, as evidenced by, after kicking an enemy soldier into a parked black car hard enough to almost flip over the car as well as set off the car alarm, her remarking that it was "too easy" before promptly cutting up the enemy soldier. Because of his first cyborg ninja conversion, she also bore several scars near her mouth, giving her mouth an appearance similar to that of a Glasgow grin both in her human cyborg form and in her second cyborg ninja body. Because of portions of Raiden's reconstructive surgery also included the implementation of an optical implant in Raiden's right eye, hrt normally blue eye occasionally glowed red. Because of her earlier failure to protect the African Prime Minister, and Desperado's involvement, she also had an extremely cold outlook regarding the cyborg members of Desperado, claiming that they were nothing more than "walking vending machines" (referring to her capability of yanking specific electrolyte body parts to recharge her cyborg body after cutting them up). she even compared herself to the reaper when mentioning that they chose death when taking the job. Her outlook was significantly uncaring to the extent that even her fellow Maverick PMC members were deeply disturbed by her behavior. she also had a dry sense of humor and was somewhat sarcastic during this time as well.

In addition, while adopting the Cyborg Ninja outfit, she was strong enough to not only parry a modified Metal Gear RAY unmanned unit's blade, but also to lift it up by the blade and throw the RAY a great distance, as well as agile enough to springboard across several HEMP missiles towards the RAY unit, as well as jump up to the RAY unit's blade after throwing it a great distance in a small period of time. she later pulled a similar feat with the much larger Metal Gear EXCELSUS. Her abilities were likewise improved after her second cyborgification, to the extent that dhe joked that he wouldn't need any of her eyes to take down any of Desperado's cyborgs if ambushed. Raiden was also capable of surviving falls large enough to kill any ordinary person, as evidenced by her falling down into the cityscape of Denver. Her strength was also enough for hrt to effortlessly pry open a gate with hrt bare hands. Hrt strength, although greatly benefiting hrt, can also get him into big trouble, a notable instance of this was when he arrived at Solis, where he accidentally (and unknowingly) wrecked the front gate's electronic lock. When Sunny confronted Raiden about this via Codec, Raiden mentioned she thought the gate was simply unlocked for him. This conversation ends with Sunny landing her with an invoice requiring her to fully pay off the restructuring and repair costs.

By the time of 2018, she became an adherent of the katsujinken ("sword that gives life") and issatsu tasho ("one life to save a thousand") philosophies originating in Japanese Buddhism, which justify the taking of lives in order to protect society, preserve justice, and defend the weak. Her desire to protect the weak at all costs, even if it meant taking lives to ensure the weak were protected, stemmed from his past as a child soldier in Liberia, and not wanting anyone else to experience the kind of childhood he had. she was also willing to break the law if she knew it was morally right to do so, as evidenced by her decision and motives to conduct a corporate raid on World Marshal's headquarters in Denver, Colorado.

After getting her new body, her first mission was in Sukhumi, the capital of Abkhazia, on an MQ-133C flying wing on loan to Maverick, where she was then launched when nearing insertion by a rocket platform, in order to quell a military coup that resulted in the Abkhazian president and most of his cabinet being killed. Raiden eventually managed to reach Desperado's main base in Abkhazia, a production plant near the coast. she then fought with the leader of the forces stationed at Abkhazia, Mistral.

Upon encountering Mistral in the top of the refinery plant, she revealed all she knew about her, including her former nickname from the Liberian Civil War, "Jack the Ripper." She remarked about their similar pasts, although she quickly learned that the similarities ended there and that they were quite different as people. After a grueling fight that descended to the bottom level of the plant, she eventually disarmed her of her weapon, which eventually culminated in her finishing her off after she was doused in liquid nitrogen while she backed away. Afterwards, when Andrey Dolzaev called Mistral upon her death, Raiden picked up the radio and told him to surrender. However, when Dolzaev refused, Raiden deduced from his reply that he was actually intending to blow himself up near a power pylon as his final act, but was unable to stop him in time.
