**BACKGROUND

• Born in a small rural Underdark drow village. As an albino male (both considered lesser), his parents kept him isolated. His dad taught him how to read and educated him, that's why he loves to read. Mother was nice to him at first but as he grew older she got meaner and told him that he was a mistake and his existence was her punishment. He internalized this and looked in his books how to fix this, finding out about a ritual to burn himself alive in a sacrifice to Llolth to be reborn. Mother said yes but father managed to stop the ritual just in time and fled the underdark with Solleth.
• Solleth and dad moved to a forest in the surface. Dad told him to never let others know he was a drow to avoid discrimination. They lived together in a small shack until father broke into a red dragon's lair to steal some gold to buy a gift for Solleth, a scarf that he still wears. The red dragon tracked him down, burnt down his house and killed his dad, but didn't kill him. Then Solleth swore revenge. He became a nomad, going around the country and living in caves and abandoned houses. He carried his books with him, becoming interested in all knowledge. Eventually he found a book about Sinwang and became obsessed, looking for more until he contacted her. He joined her religion and decided to help her out, working as a healer to get money and build a temple.

• Quirks: Always clutching a book (and carries the rest on a big backpack). Carries a pouch of animal skulls/bones. Fascinated by corpses; wants a corpse servant. Keeps a daily journal (1657+ editions).
• Sleep Habits: Trances in 2-hour fitful bursts, propped up against walls, curled in corners, or on the ground. Holds his scarf like a teddy bear.

RELIGION

• The Church of Sinwang is a small (15 members) apocalypse cult devoted to the minor death goddess Sinwang. As high priest, Solleth seeks to bring about the end times and exact revenge. They believe death is sacred and to be exploited (via necromancy). Solleth is fiercely devoted and easily offended by insults to his faith. He'll subtly seek converts but avoids discussing it due to fear of persecution. He acknowledges other gods exist but deems them unworthy. The religion has no specific sins or vows, only worship of death and Sinwang. He denies it's a cult.

• Homeless, nomad, no fixed home. Stays temporarily in caves and abandoned buildings and houses. Stays away from society unless seeking work. Very poor living conditions.
