Keys: Taro Sakamoto
Taro Sakamoto (坂本さかもと太郎たろう Sakamoto Tarō?) is the main protagonist of the series Sakamoto Days. Sakamoto was considered to be the best assassin in the world and a former member of the Order, an elite special unit of the JAA. He holds a fearsome reputation within the assassin world, that those who knew him fear him, and rever him for his prowess. Upon retiring from being an assassin, he now runs a convenience store with his wife, Aoi, and daughter, Hana. After a bounty is placed on his head, Sakamoto is thrust back into the world of assassins, alongside his new allies Shin, Lu, and Heisuke.
Appearance Sakamoto is a tall, fat man with slicked back gray hair that is tied into a ponytail at the back of his head (similar to a man bun) and he has a small broom mustache. He typically wears an apron over a T-shirt and long pants. Sakamoto prefers to wear slippers, even when outside. His eyes are usually hidden by the glare of his round glasses.
In the past, Sakamoto was much leaner with no mustache. His facial features were more defined and his eyes were visible through his glasses. Through burning through his accumulated calories, Sakamoto can revert to this form for a power boost. Shin notes his transformed appearance is very handsome, as he was noted for his handsomeness in the past.
During the JCC infiltration arc, Nagumo disguised Sakamoto as his wife Aoi Sakamoto.
Personality: Sakamoto isn't much of a talker and instead prefers to let his actions speak for themselves. He deeply loves his family, shown by the fact that he left his hitman profession just to be with them, and is very protective of them. He also has a great amount of respect for his wife Aoi. Because of his deep love for his wife and the life that he has built with her, he adheres to a "No Killing Policy". This policy has inadvertently given him a sense of justice, as even in the presence of other assassins, he prevents them from killing if possible. This policy also extends to his enemies, even those who attempt to kill both him and his family.
Sakamoto rarely shows emotion, though he is comically scared of incurring his wife's wrath. As the series progresses, Sakamoto begins to exhibit more of his emotions that were previously kept hidden, with him even beginning to talk frequently outside of his mind and expressing how he feels to those around him. However, he is not without fault, sometimes hiding his feelings to protect those around them or make them feel safe, as shown when Saw attacked Shin and Lu in his absence and were gravely injured. This caused Sakamoto to feel internal rage, though he kept this hidden, even trying to hide it when called out for it.
Although usually composed and good-natured, Sakamoto can be angered quickly when his family is threatened or injured and he is unable to help them in any way. Sakamoto has shown intense anger when his daughter was threatened to the point that he nearly loses his mind and attempts to kill the individual who made the threat towards his child. When Saw grievously injured Shin and Lu in a battle, Sakamoto felt only pure rage though he did not express this to either of them.
In the past, Sakamoto was much more callous and indifferent to killing, being described as the perfect killing machine who felt absolutely no emotion when taking on a job. However, this changed after meeting his future wife Aoi. Through her influence, Sakamoto learned to respect the sanctity of life and becomes enraged when Apart jeopardizes the lives of innocent citizens during their fight. Despite this, he is still very much capable of killing and humorously imagines killing Shin over minor annoyances, much to the clairvoyant's horror.
Sakamoto is an affable man and generally helps people when asked. Many people on his neighborhood rely on him for mundane things such as cutting tree branches, feeding toddlers, or even something more exaggerated like reshaping a single ball into two so that two children can play, all of which he does with little problem, becoming well liked in his community as a result.
Relationships Family Aoi Sakamoto Aoi is Sakamoto's wife and the main reason he left the hitman business. He deeply loves and respects her, trying his best to protect her but also to keep from making her angry. A good example of this can be seen in how he tries to keep in line with her rules to avoid her divorcing him.
Hana Sakamoto Hana is Sakamoto's daughter and only child. Although they do not interact much in the manga, Sakamoto deeply loves her and will do his best to protect her as demonstrated when he took a heavy beating from multiple shoppers to obtain a special backpack Hana wanted.
Allies Shin Asakura Sakamoto's former partner and pupil from his assassin glory days who now works as an employee at his store. Sakamoto cares deeply about Shin, evident by the fact he saved him from being killed, often confiding in him and trusting him above all else. Shin is the closest thing Sakamoto has to a friend, and a possible son. Shin harbors a great deal of respect and admiration for Sakamoto, seeing him as a mentor and one of the greatest men in his life.
Sakamoto enjoys Shin's company, his loyalty and his admiration for him. During the JCC Transfer Exams when Shin declared they were enemies as he wanted to get stronger by fighting on his own, Sakamoto was left dismayed and demoralized.
Lu Shaotang A young woman from a Triad family whom Sakamoto saves for the sole purpose of making pork buns for him. Ever since then, she has come to work in his store although she seems to have friction with Shin. Sakamoto seems to have a great deal of appreciation and concern for Lu comparable to that of Shin, demonstrated by his constant urge to protect her. He goes through great lengths to let Lu stay as a member of his store and his family when Wutang comes looking for her.
Nagumo An old friend of Sakamoto's as well as a member of the Order, an elite assassin group that Sakamoto was formerly a member of. It appears that they first met and became friends during the time they spent in their shared JAA class. At one point in Chapter 45, Nagumo defends Sakamoto's store while he is away, showing he is willing to do favors for Sakamoto, as well as demonstrating that Sakamoto trusts Nagumo enough to protect his family and his store. Sakamoto, Nagumo, and Rion Akao were close friends during their time at the JAA, being both excellent students, setting many records during their time then, and troublemakers, leading to their expulsion where the trio were introduced to Kindaka and the Order.
Heisuke Mashimo Sakamoto first meets Heisuke when the latter takes up the bounty on his head. Heisuke confronted Sakamoto and Shin, cornering them both due to his skill. However, he was ultimately defeated when his rifle was destroyed with a simple rock thrown by Sakamoto with Shin's help in locating him. The two quickly become compatriots when he won the air soft tournament with Sakamoto and Shin, and received his share of the prize money, fifty yen.
Rion Akao They initially met during their time at the JCC. Even before Nagumo joined the assassin department, they forged a strong friendship, working together on missions. Throughout their time at the JAA, they were recognized as excellent students and troublemakers, especially by one of their teachers, Etsuko Satoda, which ultimately led to their expulsion. It was during this time that they were introduced to Kindaka and the Order. Eight years after her death, Sakamoto eventually got married and retired from his life as an assassin. However, his past caught up with him when someone using the name Akao placed a billion-yen bounty on his head.
Skills & Abilities: Overall Skill Level: Even among the Order, Sakamoto is known to be the strongest hitman of all time, holding both immense skill in combat and also excelling in all aspects of killing. No one can seemingly match his skill in the current storyline. To date, he has only ever been outclassed in sharpshooting by Heisuke Mashimo, an assassin who excels in that aspect. Even in his chubby form, Sakamoto is a force to be reckoned with. Granny Miya notes that the present Sakamoto only has 30% of his physical abilities compared to his prime.
As a student, Sakamoto was still renowned as an exceptional talent, even Byodo the 'database' of the JCC stated that out of the 38,000 students he had seen go to the school Sakamoto was the greatest fighter. Alongside Nagumo and Rion Akao, he was one of the three greatest prospects to ever step foot into the JCC. He surpassed those around him in nearly every aspect imaginable, setting the record for the greatest marksman in JCC history, though that was stripped from him by Heisuke later in his life. As he continued to grow, Sakamoto further eclipsed all of his colleagues and even the very friends he once stood with as equals, even progressing so far as to join the Order. With enough power to singlehandedly wipe out branches of the JAA, his strength only continued to grow. Throughout his entire career he had never failed a mission, with the only person to have ever survived an assassination attempt by his hands being Kei Uzuki.
Though in the present day Sakamoto's skills have waned with time due to his retirement and newfound normal life he is still an incredibly powerful hitman. Despite his chubby appearance in his current state his power is enough to not only contend with but defeat many current assassins. By the account of Granny Miya in his overweight state he is only around 30% of his former fitness level and power compared to when he was an active hitman. However, after being struck in one of his pressure points he grew more accustomed to his current physique allowing for him to use more power and use it to his advantage.
Enhanced Strength: Sakamoto is quite powerful even after retiring and his fitness level decreasing drastically as a result. Sakamoto boasts incredible physical might, being capable of easily decapitating people and kicking Shin across his store through multiple shelves. Sakamoto stabilized the collapsing upper section of the Tokyo Tower by pulling it with a steel cable, stopping a speeding bus with a street sign, holding a person aloft with one hand and destroyed Son-Hee's chakram with just a frying pan. During the Lab Arc, Sakamoto severed multiple ropes restraining him using a coupon sheet and destroyed a mechanized dinosaur skeleton in hand-to-hand combat. Sakamoto is strong enough to throw his wife over the pillars of a suspension bridge. Even in his current state, Sakamoto's strength allowed him to fight and defeat Kanaguri, a powerful former Order member.
Enhanced Marksmanship: Aside from being a phenomenal gunman, Sakamoto has incredible accuracy with regular objects. He hurled a rock up the barrel of Heisuke Mashimo's rifle, destroying it and casually flicked a cough drop at Shin's bullet with enough force to halt it. Sakamoto has thrown popsicle sticks and chopsticks with enough force to pin people to walls.
Master Marksman: Sakamoto took mere seconds to find the cause of a mechanical issue in a pistol while chasing Amane. During his infiltration of the JCC, Sakamoto was able to assemble a gun and fire 67 shots within a minute, all of which were bullseyes; as a JCC student, Sakamoto fired 89 shots, making him the second-best all-time record setter on the JCC gun range.[2] Enhanced Durability: Sakamoto has phenomenal durability, being able to withstand a kick from Bacho, which sent him flying into an adjacent building with enough force to leave a crater. Sakamoto has also survived extremely tall falls unharmed, withstood numerous point-blank explosions from Boiled and he was unharmed by Uda's suicide bomb which annihilated the majority of an office building floor. Sakamoto's fat also grants him a degree of protection, likely allowing him to survive Apart's wires which were strong enough to cleave through multiple steel beams holding the Tokyo Tower up. During a bathhouse trip, Sakamoto relaxed in a 1°C ice bath (calling the bath tepid) temperatures and enjoyed a sauna hot enough to cause spontaneous combustion. He sat under and withstood a waterfall with a 10-ton water pressure, and repeated the ice bath-sauna-waterfall cycle multiple times in addition to withstanding a water jet powerful enough to launch Shin across the room.
Hypnosis Resistance: Sakamoto was unaffected by Club Jam's hypnosis. Telepathy Resistance: During Sakamoto and Shin's first battle, Shin was unable to read the veteran assassin's mind, however, Sakamoto can choose whether to block his thoughts or not, as he usually communicates with Shin through telepathy. Enhanced Speed: Sakamoto possesses incredible speed, being capable of moving so fast that most opponents cannot see or react to him in time. He was able to dodge Son Hee and Bacho's "Tofu Scramble Attack" and hit the latter before he could react, dismantle and slice apart multiple opponents' guns in the blink of an eye before incapacitating them, and being able to catch up with a speeding bus on foot. He was fast enough to swat aside sniper rounds fired by Heisuke, though this mildly injured him. During his battle with Kashima on a moving train, Sakamoto was thrown into a train going the opposite direction, which he ran through the entire length of before bursting out and landing back in Kashima's train.
Enhanced Reflexes: During a failed cruise date, Sakamoto threw Aoi into the air and defeated every assassin on the cruise ship before she landed back in his arms. Sakamoto has ran on the side of walls, scooped boiling water out of the air with an instant ramen cup and spun clothing hangers fast enough to deflect bullets. Sakamoto blocked a bullet fired at his head from less than an inch away using a fork and dodged close range machine gun fire from a turret. During a game of Old Maid, Sakamoto was fast enough to swipe a card from someone's hand and put it back without the person noticing.
Enhanced Endurance: Throughout the entire series, Sakamoto has shown no visible signs of exhaustion in any fight.
Skinny/Physical Prime Form: Although it's unknown how he does it, Sakamoto can assume a form similar to what he had when he was still in shape, gaining a massive boost to all of his physical abilities as demonstrated when he completely overwhelmed Boiled, an extremely capable hitman who'd previously been giving him quite a bit of trouble. Granny Miya was somehow able to prevent Sakamoto from using this form after her treatments for him to rely on his chubby (current) form more.
Master Combatant: Sakamoto's combat skills are far beyond what trained assassins are capable of. Conventional weaponry such as guns are virtually useless against him as he can block or dodge such attacks before they reach him, and his intelligence and adaptability to any situation allows him to counteract unusual weapons and fighting styles. One of his most notable abilities is his ability to weaponize random objects. Sakamoto has used cooking pots, frying pans, freezers, traffic signs, cough drops, stickers, vacuum cleaners, clipboards, drawers, pens, cards and paper with the same effectiveness as regular weapons.
While he is skilled at handling weapons, Sakamoto prefers to go unarmed, believing that dependence on weapons is a sign of a third-rate assassin.
High Intelligence: Sakamoto's use of anything within arm's reach as an effective weapon demonstrates creativity, resourcefulness and quick thinking under high pressure. As a JCC student, Sakamoto memorized Boiled's bombs composition after a brief glance. Sakamoto's improvisation skills allowed him to blind Kashima with a sticker and mechanical pencil lead and use a railroad tie as a surfboard. Vehicular Mastery: Sakamoto is skillful enough to use a motorcycle as a weapon, whipping the rear wheel into a pursuer's face. Equipment Sakamoto has been described to be very strong in making the most of his surroundings and environment. However, Sakamoto still posses some items used multiple times over the series.
Bulletproof Glasses: A pair of round glasses that have been used by Sakamoto throughout his life. The lenses are bulletproof, as a bullet fired at them at point-blank range bounced off.
Apron: Sakamoto's apron is made of an extremely durable material, able to shield people from explosions with no damage.
Hidden Weapons Arsenal: Sakamoto's armory is hidden in the convenience store behind rotating walls, accessed by typing a code into the cash register.
It contains at least 12 handguns and 20-21 long guns of varying nature (carbines, rifles and assault rifles), at least 5 grenades, an unknown amount of ammunition (4 magazines are seen), a utility knife and a taser. The armory also contains more unusual items, such as kitchen gloves, wire cutters, rakes, a shovel, gardening spade, two wire cutters and a bolt cutter.

Keys: Shin Asakura
Shin Asakura (朝倉あさくらシン Asakura Shin?), also known as the Clairvoyant (千里眼の), is the deuteragonist of the series Sakamoto Days. Shin is an ex-hitman and an employee at the Sakamoto's Store that was once an old partner and former student of Taro Sakamoto. After failing to kill Sakamoto, Shin joins him and his family.
His name at birth would likely have been Shin Ando, however, at some point, he took that name of Asakura, going by Shin Asakura. However, all materials related to the JAA (his hitman license[3]) and JCC (his test results[4]) show just his given name, Shin.
Appearance Shin is a slim but muscular build, young man of medium height. He has blond, medium-length hair and large black eyes (blue in the anime). His first appearance shows Shin in an open leather jacket along with a plain tee, baggy dark pants, and bright tennis shoes. He later appears often in his work attire consisting of a collared dress shirt, a pair of slacks, and a green apron. His attire tends to vary as the chapters continue but he generally wears either his work attire or a long-sleeve shirt or jacket layered over a tank-top or t-shirt.
Personality Shin is an honest, straightforward, and collected young man. He typically remains calm and composed even in serious situations, though this occasionally can be broken by comical bouts of anger, irritation, or fear from mundane stimuli. Shin is confident but is not arrogant and remains analytical in fights. He takes pride in his clairvoyance, knowing its strengths, and limitations and how to apply them in battle. Shin has immense determination and willpower. This, coupled with his loyalty, inherently caring nature, and value for life allows him to continue fighting against heavily stacked odds. Like many others, Shin respects and looks up to Sakamoto.
Relationships Tasuku Ando Shin's current feelings towards his biological father, Tasuku, are unknown.
As a child, he leaves to look for Ando, believing someone connected to him by blood would understand and accept him for who he is. [5] [6] But after being ignored by his father Tasuku Ando, he becomes upset with him, referring to him as scum. [6][7] Despite that, he doesn't want Sakamoto to kill him. [6][7]
Asakura Asakura is like an uncle and father figure to Shin, having taken care of him in his childhood. During Asakura's research in developing superhuman powers, a young Shin took an interest in seeing his success.
Shin remained protective of Asakura's work, whether it was when other researchers showed doubt or, once it proved successful with Shin able to read thoughts, Asakura regretted it after his colleagues began avoiding Shin. In contrast, Shin wanted Asakura to be glad his work succeeded and even rejected his want to reverse the effects.[8]
Years later, Shin reunited with Asakura while on a mission to save Lu Shaotang and commended his research. This time, acknowledging how Shin has been able to take advantage of his clairvoyance, Asakura agreed.
Taro Sakamoto Shin was formerly a partner of the legendary hitman Taro Sakamoto during Sakamoto's hitman days. He now works as an employee in Sakamoto's shop, with Sakamoto as his boss. The two have fought together with extreme efficiency. Shin initially harbors deep respect and admiration for Sakamoto Taro, seeing him as a mentor and a strong figure, and later develops a strong bond with him, viewing him as a father and a friend. Shin harbors a great deal of respect and admiration for Sakamoto, seeing him as a mentor and one of the greatest men in his life. Although Shin holds Sakamoto in high regard he mocks Sakamoto's decision to retire and calls him "soft." Later, as Shin reports to his boss, it's revealed later, as Shin reports to his boss, it’s revealed that if he failed to recruit Sakamoto back into the JAA, then he would need to kill his old partner for defecting from the organization. Shin initially sees Sakamoto as a mentor, and Sakamoto trusts Shin with important missions. Shin is extremely loyal to Sakamoto, as seen when he came to Sakamoto's aid against the invisible man.
Aoi Sakamoto The wife of his boss, Shin greatly respects her as the woman who reformed Sakamoto.
Hana Sakamoto Hana Sakamoto is the daughter of Taro Sakamoto and Aoi Sakamoto. Shin is like an older brother to her and treasures her too and think she is very precious and their relationship is very platonic and he sees her as family and his little sister.
Lu Shaotang Lu Shaotang is the daughter of a Triad Family. She currently works alongside Shin as a store clerk at Sakamoto's and can be considered a part of the Sakamoto Family. While the two often bicker, they value each other greatly and can work as an effective team he respects her and her skills and abilities and he treasures her as a ally and a good friend of his.
Heisuke Mashimo Shin considers Heisuke annoying and dislikes reading his thoughts. However, he still considers Heisuke a valuable companion and ally to have and have as a companion and company with.
Akira Akao Shin met Akira during the JCC exams. When Shin went to JCC's assassin classes, he ended up bumping into Akira, and they became friends.
Natsuki Seba Shin and Seba met while he and Sakamoto on a mission to save Lu. After their fight, the two met again at JCC, and due to certain circumstances, Seba ended up offering him help. They fought together and became partners and they worked very well together.
Tenkyu Shin met Tenkyu in the JAA Jail while Tenkyu was asleep. Shin discovered that Tenkyu was in the prison to find the JAA's fortune teller and use her to discover how he could make up with Uzuki and the other orphans, due to being kicked out because of the danger he posed. Shin lied about being the fortune teller to not give away that he and Heisuke were Sakamoto's allies.
However, Shin blew his cover once Tenkyu revealed that the specific reason for being kicked out was that he wanted to kill Hana and Aoi Sakamoto to lure out Taro. Shin punched Tenkyu and declared that he would take his life, being open about his hatred for the latter. At the end of their arduous battle, Shin thoroughly expresses his lack of hesitation towards killing Tenkyu as well.
Mafuyu Seba Shin encountered Mafuyu during the JCC exam, he stopped him from killing an examiner who Mafuyu had already defeated. Shin got annoyed when Mafuyu called him an old man and fought Mafuyu for his bullets, after using his future sight ability Shin defeated Mafuyu and took his bullets. After their fight Mafuyu clung to Shin like a younger brother much to Shin’s chagrin. Shin still took his mentor roll seriously and would discipline Mafuyu for his rude behaviour
Atari Shin meets Atari when he infiltrates the JAA prison to find a fortune-teller. There he discovers that the fortune-teller is Atari, who had been imprisoned due to internal suspicions. During the chaos inside the prison, he ends up helping her escape, and from then on she stays with the group for survival and because of the important information she holds.
Skills & Abilities Overall Skill Level: Shin is a competent clairvoyant hand-to-hand combatant. Sakamoto's last assessment during the JCC infiltration[9] puts Shin at a little above the level of the average JAA teacher, except for outliers such as the late Satoda. As a part of the Sakamoto family, Shin restrains himself from killing anyone.
Enhanced Strength: Shin has held his own handling dangerous serial killers such as Saw, as well as dealing blows powerful enough to Shinaya that Gaku (who was controlling Shinaya and capable of fighting Order members), decided to take him more seriously. Shin was also able to dive down, retrieve an unconscious Toramaru, and swim back to the surface.[10] In his battle with Haruma , Shin gives a blow punch and threw Haruma out of the arena(sumo), Haruma admits that Shin’s blows are suprisingly powerful. Shin’s blows made Tenkyu’s mouth bleed and knocked out one of his teeth.
Enhanced Speed: In addition to his clairvoyance, Shin was able to avoid blows from Toramaru and Shinaya, both special-recommendation JAA applicants. During a fight on a rollercoaster track, Shin was able to dodge an incoming cart and evade throwing knives in midair [11], as well as an airsoft bullet being fired by Kill Baby even when he is wearing a blindfold .[12] In his battle with Tenkyu,Shin commands his mind to function at max power. In other words, Shin can push his brain to process at peak speed, this made everything he saw slow down.
Enhanced Durability: Shin was able to take blows from Shinaya, who was able to send fellow assassins flying with one hand. After being sent flying across a theme park and crashing onto a stage, Shin got up with no difficulty.[13] Shin was even able to take casual strikes from Sakamoto. Shin was still able to stand up even though Haruma slammed him and received a blow from Haruma. in his battle with Tenkyu, Shin was still able to survive and win even though he suffered many injuries to his body due to falling from a height, arrow shots, punches and materials such as rocks.
Clairvoyance: Shin can read and feel the minds/thoughts of people within a 400-meter radius (chapter 193) it works by tuning into their minds like a radio. He can pick out specific people due to their emotional state, typically using this to predict enemy movements or deduce what they're thinking. However, Shin clairvoyance is less beneficial if the person's thoughts are too overwhelming for him to read (e.g., Lu Wutang)[14], or if the opponent is too fast for him to react anyway. His ability is dependent on electromagnetic brainwaves; Natsuki Seba's hood, which blocks such waves, can prevent Shin from reading his mind.[15]
Precognition: By reading a person's motor-readiness potential (i.e., the spike in activity in the brain's motor areas before a muscle movement), Shin can see the future actions of someone. In the manga, this precognition is visualized by several juxtapositions of what will happen. However, overusing this ability causes great pain. Granny Miya comments that Shin should only use his precognition for 5 minutes a day.[16]
Mind Control: He can forcefully rewrite their thoughts, forcing them to comply to the new action.[17][18] The drawback of this command is that he cannot use this ability on the same person multiple times, as shown in his battle against Tenkyu where he could not stop him after stopping him once before; however, this drawback isn't present when rewriting his own thoughts, meaning he can use it on himself as much as he wants.[19] He is also able to rewrite the thoughts of multiple people at a time, including, but not limited to, an entire town of people.[20]
Miscellaneous Assassin Training: As an assassin, Shin also acquired several essential skills such as basic martial arts, gun handling, and a degree of poison tolerance.
Swimming skills: Even after falling into the JAA Jail's lowest floor's lake as a result of falling into a crater in the ground created by Tenkyu, Shin somehow manages to show some great swimming skills.[21]
Equipment Power Glove: Created by Natsuki Seba, the glove gives Shin access to enhanced strength by turning off the limiter in his brain to utilize his latent potential. When attacking with the glove, there is a delayed reaction which requires Shin to look into the future to use it properly. The more of a delay there is, the more powerful the attack. Upon receiving the glove initially, the delay is set to 0.5 seconds.[22]

Keys: Lu Shaotang
Lu Shaotang (陸ルー 少糖シャオタン Rū Shaotan, Lu Xiaotang by Viz) is the tritagonist in the Sakamoto Days series. She is the daughter of a Triad Family. She currently works alongside Shin as a store clerk at Sakamoto's and can be considered a part of the Sakamoto Family.
Appearance Lu Shaotang is a young Chinese woman with fair skin, black eyes, and long red hair. She has an athletic build and typically wears a green apron over a black shirt with white shoes while working at Sakamoto's Store. Usually, she ties her hair up, but when under the influence of pure alcohol, she lets it down, taking on a furious and intimidating appearance.
Personality Lu Shaotang shows to be quite cheerful, often maintaining a happy and relaxed expression. When she first came to Sakamoto’s store as an employee, she was a little too “relaxed”, showing when she was late for two hours and wearing casual clothes under her apron. Despite showing some carelessness, she really holds her keepsakes from her parents deep, showing her love for her family. Also, Lu considers Sakamoto’s store as her family, thus she holds them dear, as shown when she expressed furiousness (though under the influence of pure alcohol) upon smashing Saw when he was about to attack Shin. In addition, Lu is quite dominant and ruthless in the Triad Drunk mode, when she violently attacked Saw without mercy, then planning to cut his fingers off to pay for his victim’s souls.
History Lu’s past is largely unknown, but she is the daughter of a Triad Family.
Relationships: Shin Asakura Shin is a coworker of Lu. Both of them are quite close, often bickering on miscellaneous things. Despite that, they have formed a genuine camaraderie. They both work under Taro Sakamoto in his shop as an employee.
Taro Sakamoto Taro Sakamoto is a legendary ex-hitman who is currently the owner of a grocery store called Sakamoto's. He is currently Lu's boss and employer as she works as a store clerk at his store. She showed great astonishment for Sakamoto’s tremendous power.
Aoi Sakamoto The wife of her boss.
Hana Sakamoto Lu frequently interacts with Sakamoto's daughter, acting as a big sister of sorts within the family.
Lu Wutang Lu admires Wutang for his intelligence but finds him creepy due to his stalking her.
Skills & Abilities: Overall Skill Level: Lu is a proficient martial artist and possesses surprisingly great strength and speed.
High Alcohol Tolerance: Lu is capable of drinking pure ethanol without ill effects, nor does excessive drinking appear to impair her ability to fight in any way. This ability extends to the rest of her family, as she recalls her grandfather drinking alcohol lamp fuel (such fuels tend to be methanol or denatured alcohol, both of which are lethal to drink).
Drunken Fist Style: While drinking or drunk, Lu becomes significantly more dangerous, though it depends on the amount and the kind of alcohol she consumes. After draining a bottle of 200-proof ethanol she became capable of throwing Saw around like a ragdoll and moving faster than his eyes could track, and easily caught or deflected any projectiles he threw at her (including his signature rope and axe, which she destroyed). Shin dubbed this mode "Triad Drunk," as opposed to the "Crying Drunk," "Angry Drunk," and "Happy Drunk" modes they'd discovered earlier.

Keys: Heisuke Mashimo
Heisuke Mashimo (眞ま霜しも平へい助すけ Mashimo Heisuke?) is a major supporting character in Sakamoto Days. He is a low-ranking assassin with a talent for sniping, but nothing else. Due to his lack of diversity in his skills, he struggled to find employment and was forced to live on top of a building in a severely damaged tent.
Heisuke owns a bird named Piisuke, whom he shares a close bond with.
Appearance: Heisuke is a tall man with a lean build. He has spiky brown hair and black eyes and fair skin.
Heisuke has a bandage on the bridge of his nose and a crosshair on his right cheek. He wears a black jacket with a green line across his chest and a patch on the left shoulder, green camo shorts, black socks, boots and a backpack.
Personality: Heisuke can be described as childish. He is a simple-minded, emotional guy who is optimistic and friendly. Heisuke is prone to tears, even more so than the average person, a trait that is worsened by his low self-esteem.
His air headedness shows in his thoughts, which are portrayed as crude drawings when viewed by Shin's clairvoyance. He was unable to realize who Sakamoto was upon entering his store to kill him, eventually being fooled and then left the shop with a bag of pork buns.
Despite this Heisuke is a very good sniper even being acknowledged by Sakamoto when they have a showdown during the amusement park arc. Heisuke gets emotional during their showdown as he thought he had finally found friends and is upset about it despite trying to assassinate Sakamoto for his bounty.
Heisuke is extremely personable, spending time with every employee of Sakamoto’s Store during their off hours, and spending his scarce money treating them to food. He has a soft spot for children, frantically trying to comfort an upset Hana. He also dislikes liars and has the tendency to insert "Yo" into his sentences.
History: Throughout his entire life, Heisuke was bad at everything but sharpshooting, something he noticed early on. Despite his inability to do anything other than shoot, Heisuke managed to graduate from the assassin academy and get hired by an agency where he introduced himself and expresses that, whilst incapability in almost every aspect of life, he'll try his very best. However, this immediately earned him the disdain of one of his superiors, who saw having an employee with only a single talent as worthless. Eventually, as Heisuke went on different missions, his uselessness was fully recognized by the rest of his colleagues, ultimately leading to him getting fired. He soon went into a downward spiral, eventually becoming so poor he now lives in his grandma's old patchwork tent on top of a building with no friends, except his pet bird, Piisuke.
Story: Lab Arc Heisuke contemplated how much it took to feed him and his bird, Piisuke, in one month. He then wished he could fill up his belly and decided to go and kill Sakamoto for his bounty. Upon getting to Sakamoto's store, he asked Shin for Sakamoto's whereabouts. But because of his stupidity, he was immediately deceived into believing that Sakamoto wasn't there and left, but not before getting a bag of pork buns. He then entered an air soft tournament in order to get the grand prize of one million yen and turn his luck around. However, he was initially denied participation due to him being only one person. He met Sakamoto and Shin and convinced them to let him join their team. He began to show his sharpshooting skill, however due to Lu's carelessness, he realized the truth about Sakamoto and immediately turned on him. He confronted Sakamoto and Shin, injuring Sakamoto two times and cornering them both due to his skill. However, he was defeated when Shin startled him, allowing him to sense his thoughts and alerting Sakamoto to his location. His rifle was destroyed with a simple rock thrown by Sakamoto, and he was ultimately defeated. He won the air soft tournament with Sakamoto and Shin, and received his share of the prize money, fifty yen.
Abilities and Powers: Supreme Marksman: Heisuke's ability to use a sniper rifle is unparalleled and ultimately precise. He had a natural talent for sharpshooting, which he honed to incredible levels as a student. Heisuke was able to assemble his rifle, aim at Sakamoto's forehead and fire during the brief time he was leaping backwards. During the airsoft tournament, he was able to take out four players in an instant. His skill was recognized by Sakamoto, who stated he never fought such an extraordinary sniper before. Currently, he is the first person to broke Kamihate's world record by take a shot with distance of 8.2 km.
In his academy days, he was able to assemble a gun and fire it 96 times, an unbeaten, all-time record that even Sakamoto couldn't challenge. He has since become a legend among JCC students, who call him "Dragoon".
Enhanced Durability: Heisuke was able to continue sniping even after being stabbed in the abdomen. As expected of an assassin, he appears to have a higher tolerance to pain.
Equipment: Makeshift Sniper: Heisuke utilizes a bolt-action rifle with a scope and iron sight. He crafted this sniper rifle, refining its accuracy and durability to suit his mastery of marksmanship.
Ricochet Rounds: Heisuke owns rounds capable of rebounding off objects. This allows him to attack targets in areas which would otherwise be impossible to access with conventional rounds. Though originally referred to as "Triple-Rebound Bullets",[2] they have later shown the capacity to ricochet more than just three times.[3]
Piisuke: Heisuke owns a small bird that sports a belt of pouches around its neck. According to him, it costs 10,000 Yen to feed Piisuke for a month. Piisuke is able to help Heisuke improve his visibility on the battlefield, much like a normal sniper. Heisuke is also a lucky item to Piisuke; the same going from the latter to the former, according to Atari.[4]

Keys: Yoichi Nagumo
Yoichi Nagumo (南ナ雲グモ与ヨ市イチ Nagumo Yoichi?)[5] is a major supporting character in Sakamoto Days and an old friend of Taro Sakamoto and the late Rion Akao. He is first seen paying a visit to Sakamoto to inform him of his bounty [6] and was revealed to be a member of the Order before losing his seat during the Assassin Exhibition of the Century Arc.
Appearance: Nagumo is a very handsome man of tall and slim build but muscular build, medium-length black hair and large black eyes. He wears a red polo shirt with teal, black and white triangle-shaped patterns under a cream-colored trench coat (in the manga, the shirt is white with patterns being red and navy blue, while the shirt being light blue and the coat is brown in the digital-colored manga) as well navy-blue pants (black in the digital-colored manga) and black shoes.
He occasionally wears a white buttoned shirt with a black tie under a black business suit (dark green in the manga) (in which he sometimes omits the suit and tie) He also carries a gray briefcase around on his back, which in it contains his signature weapon.[7]
When he was 14 years old, Nagumo already appeared taller and thinner before adulthood. His outfits usually consist of a black t-shirt under a yellowish-orange jacket containing black drawings of chains, navy blue shorts and a pair of wooden sandals.
Tattoos Nagumo has many tattoos, most of which are hidden by his clothing. His tattoos have mathematical inspirations, in particular, referencing the Golden Ratio.
Tattoos shown include:
On the left side of his neck, he has a marking of the Fibonacci Spiral. The growth factor of the Fibonacci Spiral is the golden ratio, ~1.6180. Two rectangular tattoos on both his hands, another reference to the golden ratio. The formula ϕ
1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + ⋯ {\displaystyle \phi ={\sqrt {1+{\sqrt {1+{\sqrt {1+{\sqrt {1+{\sqrt {1+{\sqrt {1+{\sqrt {1+\cdots }}}}}}}}}}}}}}} on his right forearm. This a presentation of an infinite sequence of nested square roots which resolves to ~1.6180... (the golden ratio). 5 rectangles with different designs (and the third and fifth of which are black), next to the formula tattoo. The symbols, '2', ' ϕ {\displaystyle \phi }', '1' and '%' on his index finger, middle finger, ring finger and pinky respectively. A snake coiled around his lower left leg. A swallow on the right side of his right leg, just below the knee. An impossible shape on his shin, below the swallow tattoo. A square made of various spaced lines and curves on his right thigh. A mandala-esque pattern on his right shoulder. A pair of praying hands on his left pectoral. Likely inspired by the Praying Hands drawing by Albrecht Dürer. Anton Chekhovs quote "Although you may tell lies, people will believe you, if only you speak with authority" on his right bicep[8] A line which intersect, wrapping around his anterior forearm. A patterned, isosceles triangle on his left posterior forearm. A rectangular tattoo on his right tricep. A tattoo that is a reference to Leonard Shelby from Christopher Nolan´s Memento. on his left bicep.[8] A wing on his left waist.[9] An unidentified tattoo under his left armpit.[9] Arthur Schopenhauer quote "The doctor sees all the weakness of mankind; the lawyer all wickedness, the theologian all the stupidity." on his right side.[8] A pair of hands featured in the famous painting "The Creation Of Adam" by Michelangelo, but on the tattoo what would be Adam's hand is flipped so the palm faces upwards as supposed to down.[10]
Personality Nagumo's most notable traits are his laid-back attitude accompanied by his constant smile that seems impossible to wipe off his face. He also has an incredible talent for annoying those around him to the point of making them want him dead.[11][12][13]
Nagumo also shows to had pretty carefree, even in the middle of intense battles, once claiming to enjoy the wind in his hair as he stabbed a man in the arm.[14] He is also very playful with his opponents, as demonstrated multiple times. For instance, he evades and tricks Minimalist, a hardened serial killer, before handing him some dice to decide which of his blades he'd die by.[15] Another example is during his fight against Gaku, where he asked the latter if he liked Bruce Lee after being hit with a one-inch punch.
However, when it comes to matters involving his friends, Nagumo tends to reveal his true emotions. One such instance is when he pulls Uzuki out of Takamura's slash line, wondering why he saved him despite being a dangerous serial killer, influenced by the fact that a part of Rion Akao still resided in Uzuki's body. In fact, Nagumo has shown deep care for his old friends Sakamoto and Rion since their time at the JAA, still thinking about her even after she was confirmed dead. This is also confirmed in their encounter during the Assassin Exhibition of the Century Arc, where, once Rion took control over Uzuki's body and spoke to him, Nagumo immediately recognized Rion's personality and questioned her identity.
Nagumo believes the key to killing is "deception",[16] despite claiming to abhor it.[17]
Despite this, Nagumo does possess another more cold and serious side of him. He acts on his own agenda most of the time, and sometimes does things to the extent of it being unethical. When he saved Satoru Yotsumura, he blackmailed him and threatened to kill Amane if he didn’t do what he wanted. Additionally, thought he didn’t engage in blackmailing Heisuke (seems to be the most prevalent method he uses..) he participated in the kidnapping of him, again, for information.
Relationships Allies Taro Sakamoto Nagumo and Sakamoto first met when they were both enrolled at the JCC, having known each other since they were 14. Nagumo cares deeply about Sakamoto, to the point of not wanting him to be in danger, even though he knows Sakamoto's help is often necessary. Nagumo has repeatedly demonstrated his close friendship with Sakamoto, maintaining contact with him even after Sakamoto retired from being an assassin and became hunted by the JAA[18]. He has also done favors for Sakamoto and helped him out, such as when he disguised himself as Aoi Sakamoto and stood in as a cashier, killing Minimalist in the process.[19]
Sakamoto and Nagumo remained close friends over time and even collaborated, along with Kei Uzuki (who was taken over by Rion's personality), during their fight against Takamura in the Assassin Exhibition of the Century. Nagumo refused to follow Asaki's orders and chose to side with Sakamoto, leading to both of them being expelled from the Order and hunted by the JAA.
Rion Akao Nagumo met Rion after transferring from the Spy Department to the Assassin Department, where she initially wanted to attack him.[20] Along with Sakamoto, they soon became an inseparable trio, causing property damage and engaging in playful banter and fights. Their antics eventually led to their expulsion from the JCC, after which they were introduced to Kindaka and the Order together.
After Rion's death, Nagumo investigated her death through various methods. This included paying for Kindaka's recovery bills and rescuing Yotsumura from drowning, so he could order him to look for any intel related to Rion. Nagumo has shown many times that he cares deeply for Rion, such as when he hesitated to attack Uzuki when Rion took control of his body and when he bore the brunt of Takamura's attack to protect Uzuki.
Kindaka Nagumo first met Kindaka after being expelled from the JCC due to his behavior and constant fights with Rion and Sakamoto. In an effort to have the expulsion withdrawn, Nagumo, Sakamoto and Rion accepted a mission to assassinate Kindaka. However, after meeting him and engaging in a fierce battle, Kindaka offered Nagumo and the others a place in the Order and took them on a mission with him. Later, Kindaka fell into a coma due to Kobayashi's poison. Driven by his desire to investigate Rion's death, Nagumo paid Kindaka's hospital bills for eight years in a row, covering 1.2 million yen per month. When Kindaka eventually woke up, Nagumo handed him the entire bill, which totaled 1.15 billion yen, and asked him to repay the amount.
Shishiba Nagumo and Shishiba seem to have a good and mutual relationship, though he tends to get on Shishiba's nerves sometimes to the point of being threatened.
Hyo Nagumo enjoyed teasing Hyo the most out of all the members of the Order. Despite this, Nagumo truly cared for him, and was saddened by his death. He shot off a bullet into the air as a sign of respect .
Skills & Abilities Overall Skill Level: Nagumo is an ex-member of the Order and one of the strongest assassins in Japan.[21] As a student Nagumo was one of the three greatest prospects to ever step foot into the JCC alongside Taro Sakamoto and Rion Akao with Rion Akao acknowledging his fighting ability. Kindaka, a founding member of the Order stated that the three of them could be future leaders of the assassin world.[22] In current time, Slur considered Nagumo as one of the top two fighters in the Order, and thus the second strongest assassin in the JAA.[23]
Granny Miya stated that he is currently stronger than Taro Sakamoto due to the latter's five year-long retirement.[1] Kashima classified him as an S-rank target on the hit list he created.[24][25] Sakamoto has even stated that it would take a lot for Nagumo to lose a fight.[26] Due to his exceptional combat abilities, he was able to put Gaku, one of Uzuki's strongest subordinates on the brink of death after engaging him in battle.[23]
Master of Disguise: Nagumo can copy other people's appearances perfectly in an instant, which he used to fool Lu Shaotang by disguising as Sakamoto.[27] He can also disguise others, including significantly altering someone's body shape, such as disguising the fat Sakamoto as his wife, Aoi. When disguising Sakamoto, Nagumo says the disguise would only last for twenty-four hours.[28]
Master Combatant: Nagumo's combat skills include everything with coordination and skill, making him a deadly combatant.[29] He can render a man completely unconscious with only his killing intent.[30]
Nagumo is extremely proficient with bladed weapons.[31][32][33][34] He was able to decapitate Minimalist with ease,[35] and kill multiple assassins in one swift motion before they could even react.[36]
His combat skill was stated by Slur to be among the top two in the Order.[23] This was made evident in his fight against Gaku; despite being outmatched in physical ability, Nagumo was able to defeat him with his combat skill and trickery.[23] Nagumo was able to land devastating strikes on Gaku by catching him off guard with hidden weapons or by distracting him with his dice.[37][38] Even after his weapon was destroyed, leaving him with all his blades separated, Nagumo was able to fight on par with Gaku and eventually pierce him with the separated blades to end the fight.[23]
Expert Marksman: Nagumo can use firearms with great proficiency. He ranked 4th place in the top 10 greatest shooters of all time at the JCC, having scored 84 points.[39]
Morse Code: Nagumo can use morse code, as shown when he uses the signal lights of a moving vehicle to tell Shishiba that he was "killing".[40]
High Intelligence: Nagumo was a part of the intelligence-gathering department during his younger days at the JCC.[41] He is a highly perceptive individual, quickly able to deduce Kindaka's theory of a spy existing within the JAA's organization without the latter even saying anything,[42] and was also able to quickly notice that Erio Muto, a JAA executive, was a spy working for Slur.[43] His intellect and planning is partly what makes him such a deadly fighter, as he's able to stay one step ahead of his opponent through deception and schemes.
Poison Knowledge: Most likely due to his upbringing as a spy’s apprentice and his training at the JCC, Nagumo is very knowledgeable of how poison works and understands how to adapt to it.[44] Enhanced Speed: Nagumo is capable of moving at extreme speeds, being fast enough to instantaneously disappear from a person’s sight.[45] He can move so quick that he managed to catch even Shin off guard,[46] as well as decapitate Minimalist in an instant. His speed is on par with Gaku.[47]
Enhanced Strength: Nagumo casually lifted Minimalist by the neck with one hand[48] and was strong enough to contend with Yotsumura's attacks which could easily slice through the steel supports of a car carrier trailer.[32]
Enhanced Reflexes: Nagumo was able to save Heisuke Mashimo from a potential head shot.[49]
Enhanced Durability: Nagumo is incredibly resilient despite his skinny build. He remains completely unharmed after taking a hit from Gaku's mace that sent him flying through multiple walls,[50] a display airplane,[51] and a car sculpture.[52] Even after taking a point-blank ranged attack from Gaku's powerful laser mace that sent him crashing down to the ground with devastating force, Nagumo received only minor injuries.[53]
Equipment Six-Function Knife: Nagumo uses a large switchblade-like weapon that has six different functions.[54][32] In the past, he carried each blade separately under his trench coat.[55]
The weapons contained inside his large multi-tool weapon include:
Multiple Blades There are multiple fold and pop-out blades contained within Nagumo's large multi-tool weapon.[31] One of his blades doubles as a can opener at parties.[56]
Daggers Inside the weapon, Nagumo carries a pair of daggers who have blades sharp enough to pierce through the roof of a SUV being driven by an assassin targeting Shishiba and durable enough to withstand blows from Yotsumura´s three sections staff.[14]
Scythe A scythe that Nagumo held along with his other weapons. He used it during his fight against Gaku, primarily to distract him from his invisible blade.[57]
Axe Nagumo's weapon can transform into a durable axe that he used during his fight against Gaku to send him crashing into the wing of an airplane. The back side of the axe is flat, which confused Gaku about whether the weapon was an axe or a hammer.[58]
Invisible Blade A disposable yet sharp blade, made entirely of ceramic, with the peculiar characteristic of being almost invisible. By distracting Gaku with his other weapons, Nagumo managed to sneak the ceramic blade out and stab him.[59] It is stated that the blade only works once, as it becomes visible after being soiled with blood.[60]
Dice: Nagumo uses a single dice to decide which blade he'll kill his enemy by,[15] or to distract his enemy to deliver a devastating blow.[61]

Keys: Shishiba
Shishiba (神シ々シ廻バ?) was a member of the Order, a group of the strongest assassins in the JAA.[5] Before joining the Order, he was a rogue assassin until he met Satoru Yotsumura and eventually became his student.[6] He is also the mentor of Osaragi.[7]
Appearance: Shishiba is a tall and slim man in his mid 20´s with long blond hair worn loose and blue eyes (black in the manga). He wears a light blue polo shirt under a dark brown suit and a purple tie that contains a hammerhead shark-shaped pin (Shishiba often sometimes changes the suit in the manga, with the suit and tie being black and the shirt being white)
During the Order reunion in a fancy restaurant. Shishiba wears a brown floral shirt and a black tie with pink floral details under a black suit.
Shishiba has a spike-shaped scar on his left chin as a result of his rematch against Yotsumura.[8] He lost his ring and pinkie fingers on his left hand.[9] Sometime later, he reattaches his two severed fingers, with him now wearing a glove over the two fingers to covered them up.[10]
Personality: Shishiba is an aloof man that rarely shows much care or concern for anything or anyone unless it is his work or his protégé, Osaragi. However, he believes it's important to kill with concern and respect towards the public, believing that regular civilians have a right to a normal life, having chastised Osaragi about killing so publicly. He apparently finds it hypocritical for an assassin to feel or show signs of vulnerability after someone close to them dies; after all, in a profession where they are expected and with conviction to terminate the lives of their targets, or die trying, it would be specious to show a faint of heart should a loved one of theirs or even a co-worker gets killed in turn.
Despite being such a prolific assassin, Shishiba cares little for killing, even comparing it to a chore like cleaning the house. He looks down on Yotsumura's idea that an assassin must have a fanatical belief in killing, or none, saying that the idea of giving psychos weapons is old fashioned.
Shishiba's main philosophy in life is "simplicity". His weapon is a pair of hammers that was picked solely because of how simple they are. This is because they can hit or gouge, and do not run out of bullets or require sharpening.[11] In the past and his youth, Shishiba held a deep indifference towards life, not putting up a fight with Yotsumura when he came to kill him, and even told the man to hurry up and kill him when he was commenting on the mess he'd made. Even when Yotsumura took him under his wing, he only asked what the pay was.
Shishiba is also very confident in his combat abilities, as he states that there was no way an old man like his old mentor, Yotsumura could’ve beaten him,[12] and was open to the thought of fighting someone as strong as Nagumo whenever his former colleague’ antics annoy him to do so.[13]
Relationships: Osaragi Shishiba is Osaragi's mentor in the Order.[7] They're shown to be quite close, often pairing up for missions together and going out to eat afterwards. Shishiba often advises her on how to act as an assassin. Their relationship seems to mirror the mentor-mentee relationship he once had with Yotsumura.
Taro Sakamoto They remain on fairly good terms even after his retirement, with Shishiba calling him "Mr. S"[14] and the latter asking him to say hello to the gang after meeting him. He seems to hold a great deal of respect for Sakamoto stating it's impossible for him to imagine Sakamoto losing against anyone.
Yoichi Nagumo Shishiba and Nagumo seem to have a good relationship, though Shishiba tends to threaten to kill Nagumo whenever he's being annoying.
Satoru Yotsumura Yotsumura was Shishiba's mentor in the Order and the one who taught him the proper ways of being an assassin. During his time with him, they developed a deep bond as partners, so much so that Yotsumura let him into his personal life and introduced Shishiba to his family. He holds a great amount of respect for him, and even knowing how it could jeopardize his job, was unable to truly finish him off on two separate occasions.
Skills & Abilities: Overall Skill Level: Shishiba is a member of the Order and one of the strongest assassins in the JAA.[5] He is implied to be one of their stronger members, as he is also the mentor to Osaragi, another powerful member of the Order.[7] Satoru Yotsumura, Shishiba's former mentor and a founding member of the Order, stated that if Shishiba had a different mindset, he could be at a higher rank.[15] This was supported by the fact that Shishiba was able to put him on the brink of death while only losing two fingers in the process during their fight to death.[16] Kashima even classified Shishiba as an A-rank target on the hit list he created.[17]
Shishiba was also able to fight off Haruma and Kumanomi temporarily while only receiving minor injuries, although he was unable to deal any major damage to his opponents in the process.[18] When fighting Kumanomi one-on-one, Shishiba was able to deal noticeable damage to her and partially destroy her robotic arm.[19]
Master Combatant: Shishiba is a highly skilled combatant, capable of using his claw hammers in battle with incredible proficiency.[20][21] He has shown to use his claw hammers to exchange blows with Yotsumura, and land devastating strikes on him with the claw ends, nearly killing him.[22] He uses the claw ends to rip and tear into his opponents, preferring to snap their necks or decapitate them.[23] Shishiba has also used his claw hammers to gain tactical advantages such as shifting his momentum after being blown back to attack right away,[24] or by using the reflection of one of his hammers as a mirror to find and strike down those hiding behind cover.[16] Even without the use of his hammers, Shishiba was able to kill an assassin behind him with a dango skewer.[25] He was also capable of fighting off multiple assassins while driving and even use the car itself as a weapon.[26] When Carolina Reaper's heat caused Kumanomi's electro magnet to lose its magnetism, Shishiba wasted no time in counter attacking, slamming Kumanomi to the ground and quickly striking Carolina Reaper, shortly afterwards.[27]
Morse Code: Shishiba can read morse code, as shown when he notices that Nagumo was using the signal lights of a moving car to tell him that he "killed".[28]
Enhanced Speed: Shishiba is capable of moving at extreme speeds, he was fast enough to snap Kashima's neck without him noticing.[20]
Enhanced Reflexes: His reflexes are equally sharp, as demonstrated when he was under fire from an assassin armed with a assault rifle, Shishiba was able to casually block the bullets with just one hammer while driving.[29] He was even able to deflect a projectile fired by Kumanomi.[30]
Enhanced Strength: Shishiba was even able to parry strikes from Yotsumura staff who ends up slicing two of his fingers. [31] as well breaking the wall of the JCC museum with its bare hand and grab Haruma through it.[32] He was also able shatter the blade of Kumanomi´s axe and then send her flying with a kick that ends up hitting Carolina Reaper through a concrete pillar with its bare hands.[33]
Enhanced Durability: Shishiba survived being pummeled through the roofs of a small building during his quarrel against Yotsumura,[34] as well being hit by a crane truck released by Kumanomi.[35] He also stay conscious after taking a blow to the abdomen from Carolina Reaper’s gas soldering iron welding beam.[36]
Equipment: Claw Hammers: Shishiba wields a pair of claw hammers in battle with incredible skill. He claims that they are the ideal weapons as they can both hit or gouge out things, and that they never run out of bullets or have to be sharpened.[11] His hammers are also polished enough to view the reflection of a person in it. [37]

Keys: The Order
The Order (ORDERオーダー Ōdā?) is a group within the Japanese Association of Assassins, consisting of some of its strongest assassins in the agency. Their main task is maintaining the order of the assassin world when friction in the industry arises or when a threat comes to destroy the "order" of assassins.[1]
Overview: The Order is a clandestine sub-organization of the JAA, consisting of some of its strongest members. While the Order has a limit of ten members, the roster has never been full.[2] In fact, their existence within the criminal underworld and the assassins are considered to be a urban legend, as the Order never comes to do assassination work or are well-known in the assassin's world. Their existence is known only by a few who have actually encountered the Order or from rumors that circulate to their existence. For instance, the leader of the Dondenkai, was aware of the Order being existed, but it was never confirmed. They work for the JAA's chairman, but typically report to proxies, though Iriya, an Association of Assassins Communications Coordinator, has given them missions on one occasion.[3]
Each member of the Order is powerful than the average assassin in virtually all aspects. For one member, they are considered to be the most deadliest, skilled, and ruthlessly driven to ensure that the mission is complete without moral compromise.
Taro Sakamoto estimated that even if ten of Shin Asakura attacked one Order member, all would die in six seconds and his best bet would be to play dead if he met one.[4]
JAA Western Japan Headquarters director Fukumitsu stated that a single Order member is more than capable of destroying an entire JAA branch.[5]
The Order has a leadership role, but no other formal hierarchies have been established within the order, though several informal mentorships have been revealed: Satoru Yotsumura's mentorship of Shishiba,[6] and Shishiba's unofficial mentorship of Osaragi. Oki is the current leader of the Order. Order members generally have little regard for each other and remain unperturbed if a fellow member dies.
Membership of the Order seen thus far has only been through recruitment. So far, only Order members in leadership positions have been shown to recruit new members. While almost all Order members are Japan Clear Creation graduates, graduation from the JCC is unnecessary
Shishiba was a Kansai Region Assassin Institute dropout.[7] Osaragi never attended an assassin institution.[7] Order members can be banished; former Order member Yotsumura was also sentenced to death and banishment for failing a major mission[8][9] and for trying to kill JAA executives.[10]
Order members appear to enjoy a greater degree of freedom, as Osaragi stopped to buy snacks during missions[11] and four Order members failed to show up for a mission briefing with Iriya.[12] Similarly, the pay appears to be very high:
Sakamoto was able to pay 756,000 yen for information.[13] Since Sakamoto currently runs a convenience store, it is likely that this money comes from his savings from his time in the Order. In a post-chapter panel, Hyo purchases a replacement MRI machine for 1.5 billion yen.[14] Shishiba and Nagumo rented a luxury SUV (with full-coverage insurance) for a mission.[15] Members have congregated in high-class restaurants for meetings at least once.[12] Sakamoto enters a bidding war with Kamihate for a ticket to the Assassin Exhibition of the Century, bidding up to 500 million yen.[16] Nagumo was able to pay for Kindaka's treatment fee, for 8 years.[17][18] Mission
The Order's role is described as maintaining "order" in the assassin world when friction arises. Though an exact definition of "friction" has been unspecified, it may refer to individuals that pose a threat to or disrupt everyday operations.
History At an unknown time before the start of the main story, the Order was founded by Kindaka and Satoru Yotsumura. It is not known if there were other founding members.
At an unknown time before the main story, the Order would try to recruit eventual JCC teacher Etsuko Satoda but were turned down as she wanted to focus on the education of the future generations of assassins.[23] At an unknown time before the main story, the Order would recruit members Hyo, Shishiba, Takamura, Kamihate, and Oki.
At an unknown time before the main story, the Order would recruit members Taro Sakamoto and Yoichi Nagumo.
While being sent on a mission to eliminate the Steel Dragon (secretly Kindaka in disguise), Kindaka extended a verbal offer to Sakamoto, Nagumo, Rion, and Uzuki to join the Order. None of them would accept the invitation during the mission, and Rion and Uzuki would eventually disappear after the mission, before getting a chance to formally respond to the offer. At the time of this verbal offer, the Order was implied to have at least four members, including Kindaka and Yotsumura. The four members' silhouettes were shown with two of them bearing a loose resemblance to Kindaka and Yotsumura, and one of the remaining silhouettes bearing a loose resemblance to Hyo. The final silhouette does not resemble any revealed previous members of the Order. It is possible this is the Order member that was friends with Kanaguri before they were eventually killed by him and had their position taken byhim. Kindaka once stated that there "are only four of us in Japan right now".[24] Order members have been known to have assignments overseas,[25] and so it is ambiguous if there had been other Order members at the time or not. After offering a position in the Order to Sakamoto, Nagumo, Rion, and Uzuki, Kindaka task the four to assist him as a bodyguard in an escort mission for the wife and child of the then-JAA Chairman as he was injured during combat with them. Kindaka would fall into a coma after inhaling poison gas on this mission. Sakamoto and Nagumo would officially join the Order sometime after this mission. At an unknown time before the main story, Order member Yotsumura failed to protect the JAA chairman and was suddenly expelled from the JAA. Shishiba was sent to assassinate Yotsumura but would be ultimately unsuccessful.[26]
Since the Order is a subgroup of the JAA, this is also Yotsumura's expulsion from the Order. Shishiba was assigned to kill Yotsumura as a result of Yotsumura's failure, but Shishiba failed to kill Yotsumura, and it is implied that Shishiba intentionally let Yotsumura live. Subsequently, during the JCC Infiltration Arc, Shishiba, together with Nagumo and Osaragi would once again be assigned to eliminate Yotsumura, and would once again not kill Yotsumura, instead choosing to throw him into a river and let him bleed to death.[27] Nagumo would later then pull Yotsumura out of the river, and force Yotsumura to covertly investigate the circumstances of Rion Akao's death,[27][28] while keeping the fact that Yotsumura is alive hidden from everyone except Shishiba. At an unknown time before the main story, Order member Taro Sakamoto would retire as an assassin and leave the Order.
At an unknown time before the main story, the Order would recruit Kanaguri after he killed an unknown Order member, who was also his good friend, over an argument about what makes the greatest movie, and would join the Order in his place.[27] This happened before the main story began.
During the JCC Transfer Exams Arc, Sakamoto came off in not knowing or recognizing Kanaguri.[29] Which implies that Kanaguri's recruitment into the Order was after Sakamoto's retirement. It is possible Kanaguri was recruited before Sakamoto had left the Order and Sakamoto had simply not seen Kanaguri between him joining and his retirement, or that Kanaguri's appearance had changed significantly between then and now. At an unknown time, Shishiba recruited Osaragi after she had killed numerous assassins who were his intended targets. Osaragi would be introduced to Yotsumura by Shishiba, showing that Yotsumura had been removed the Order long before Osaragi was recruited. A flashback that Hyo had implied that Sakamoto was still in the Order when Osaragi was recruited or at least groom.[30] This however, seemingly contradicts the timeline originally established, as Sakamoto and Osaragi did not know each other and when introduced by Shishiba, it is mentioned that Osaragi is "new", implying that she joined the Order at some point after Sakamoto's retirement.[31] During the events of the JCC Infiltration arc, Kanaguri was expelled from the Order and the JAA.[27]
Kanaguri's expulsion was for concealing evidence from the JAA and collusion with X. His actions were hugely motivated by his desire to film the conflict between X's Organization and the JAA from both perspectives. Hyo would go to Bangkok, Thailand in order to investigate X's Organization. He would meet and assist Heisuke with recovering his stolen baggage and be lured into combat with Kumanomi, a member of X's Organization, who managed to injure and subsequently drown him.[32]
During the events of the Bangkok Arc, Hyo was be killed in combat by Kumanomi. [30] During the events of the Assassin Exhibition of the Century arc, Order member Nagumo Yoichi would be expelled from the Order, and Order member Takamura would be killed in combat.
JAA Chairman Sei Asaki would instruct Nagumo to kill Rion-Uzuki. Nagumo would instead decide to ignore his instructions and escape together with Sakamoto and Rion-Uzuki. As a result, JAA Chairman Sei Asaki would simultaneously expel him from the Order and designate him (along with Sakamoto and Uzuki) as a Special Class-A extermination target, wanted for conspiracy against the JAA. Takamura would see extermination targets Sakamoto, Nagumo, and Uzuki together, and engage them in combat. Takamura would injure them but would ultimately be overwhelmed after Uzuki's companions join the battle and be killed by Uzuki himself. At an unknown time, Oki took over as the leader of the Order.
Oki was implied to be overseas for a large part of the story. At an unknown time while he was overseas, Order leader Oki recruited members Torres and Tanabata.[33]
The Al-Kamar orphanage was a scheme to take in orphans and train them to kill, creating Order members. No Order members have been revealed to be from the Al-Kamar orphanage.
Oki has decided that currently, the best course of action for the Order is to work with X and his organization, likely due to how unlikely it is for them to defeat the former's Takamura personality.

Keys: Osaragi
Osaragi (大佛おさらぎ?) was one of the newest members of the Order, a group of the strongest assassins within the JAA.
Appearance: Osaragi is a adorable-looking young woman of average height with a slender yet shapely build. Her hair is black, straight, long, reaching her lower back, though she also has shoulder-length framing strands. Uneven, fringed bluish-grey emotionless eyes (red in the manga)
She wears a dark blue dress with brown floral mesh sleeves, a transparent veil over her head and black shoes in a fashion to someone attending a funeral.
Personality: Osaragi can be described as a childish woman who often acts on impulse without forethought. This is evident when she casually stopped to pray at a shrine despite being targeted by Death Row serial killers. She also has a habit of comparing people to animals, such as likening Sakamoto to a bear or Dump to an echidna.
She exhibits a general sense of apathy, displaying little emotion even in high-stakes situations. She remains composed in battle, engaging in casual conversations and expressing strange, mundane thoughts—such as wondering how Dump stores her prosthetic spikes or regretting not bringing band-aids.
She is blunt and tends to shift blame for trivial matters, often pinning them on Shishiba. However, she can also be extremely apologetic, sometimes for things entirely unrelated to her, though she later realizes and acknowledges this.
Osaragi has a strong fondness for food, once suggesting eating pork cutlets before a job—an idea she later blamed on Shishiba. She frequently purchases large quantities of snacks but only shares them on her own terms.
Osaragi also appears to have some religious inclinations or at least respects tradition. She prayed at a shrine and forcefully "taught" Dump how to pray by repeatedly smashing her into a bowing position after damaging the shrine. However, she has no qualms about desecrating religious sites if it serves her purposes, such as destroying Buddha statues.
After eliminating Dump, she has become more conscious of collateral damage and is attempting to kill more discreetly. Shishiba reprimanded her, reminding her that normal people are disturbed by the sight of corpses. She now tries to avoid involving innocent lives in her battles, believing they deserve a normal life free from the world of violence and death.
Skills & Abilities: Overall Skill Level: Osaragi is one of the strongest assassins in Japan as a member of the Order.[2] According to Shishiba, she was just an ordinary young woman who grew up on a farm without a connection to the assassin world, indicating that Osaragi is a prodigy when it comes to assassination.[3]
She was able to overpower and kill Dump, an A-ranked serial killer who had murdered over 180 people.[4] The Geisha, a skilled assassin who was able to evade one of Satoru Yotsumura's attacks, was helplessly outmatched and killed by Osaragi.[3] Even someone as powerful as Carolina Reaper, a deadly combatant within X's Organization, was easily dismembered and killed by Osaragi after she caught him off guard.[5]
Master Combatant: As a member of the Order, Osaragi is a highly skilled combatant. In battle she uses a unique collapsible buzzsaw as her primary weapon. She uses it in close range as a normal buzzsaw[4] and for medium range she uses the cord to hurl the saw around like a flail, wrapping it around objects and pulling it back to deliver unpredictable attacks from different angles.[6] The cord is also used to pull her targets towards her.[3]
Even without her buzzsaw, Osaragi has shown to be a skilled fighter who can use the objects around her as weapons. By using the prayer equipment, coins and a buddha statue in combination with her hand-to-hand combat skill she was able to overpower Dump with relative ease.[7][4] She also nearly killed Mafuyu Seba, who had undergone extensive training with Gaku and wore a mask to greatly enhance his physical abilities at the cost of some of his lifespan after fighting him in hand-to-hand combat.[8]
Enhanced Speed: Osaragi is incredibly fast, being able to easily bisect Kashima's core gang of underlings in a split second before they could react. Osaragi's reflexes and reaction speed are also outstanding, being able to stop a sneak attack and defend herself with just a coin in less than a second as well as consistently evading a barrage of attacks from Dump, even getting behind her in the blink of an eye. Additionally, she could casually destroy falling rubble without looking and caught up with Shishiba and Nagumo after they accidentally left her behind.
Enhanced Strength: Despite her slender frame, Osaragi has incredible physical strength, being able to easily overpower Dump and smash her head into a stone statue, shattering it as a result. She was able to decapitate a large buddha statue and kick the head with enough force blow away Dump from the top of the shrine down to near the entrance. When using her chainsaw, she was able to cut down the torii gates along with Dump in one swift strike.
When attacking Yotsumura the second time, her strike was powerful enough to send him through 5 rows of housings. And later she casually grabbed the umbrella that the Geisha was using, with the Geisha being unable to even budge it. Osaragi promptly cut the previously impervious umbrella in half along with the room and injured the Geisha.
While unconscious after being injured by Uzuki-Takamura's slash, Shishiba took her upon his shoulder to retreat from the New Order's grasp, but was hindered because she did not let go of her buzzsaw. Shishiba himself notes the weight of her weapon[9]; her ability to carry it even through her unconsciousness is proof of her outstanding physical strength.
Enhanced Durability: Osaragi was able to leap from the top of a highway and land at the bottom without any issues. She is also indifferent to pain, having shown unfazed expressions after being impaled through the hand by one of Dump spikes or when she rammed her hand deeper into the spike in order to grapple the killer without visible discomfort. She was stabbed by the Geisha's umbrella multiple times after getting immobilized without taking any damage at all.
Equipment Collapsible Buzzsaw: Osaragi's primary weapon is a seemingly ordinary suitcase which, upon entering combat, can open up to reveal a massive buzzsaw with trailing, severed cables that she can wield with incredible ease.
Despite seemingly being unpowered, the circular saw is still incredibly lethal. Osaragi has also been shown to be able to use the severed cables to hurl the saw around like a flail, even letting it wrap around objects to hit enemies from unpredictable angles.

Keys: Oki
Oki (沖オキ?) is the leader of the Order, the JAA's strongest group of assassins. During the majority of the story, he was overseas for an unspecified assignment.
Appearance: Oki is a beige-skinned tall and slim man with hollow cheeks, angular and full-rimmed brown glasses, black eyes with thin eyebrows and a short goatee. He has a slicked back, yet long black hair tied in two ponytails by a grey hair donut above one other, one high up and one at the back of his neck. He wears a mint green polo shirt with a long pair of black suspenders with a light grey tie with a rectangular, monochrome patterns under a teal business suit alongside a luxurious-looking watch on his left hand.
Personality: Oki can be easily defined as a stickler for the rules, chiding Shishiba, Osaragi and Kamihate for arriving one minute and fourteen seconds late to their meeting and responding to Shishiba's joke for Oki to kill him by asking Shishiba to put in a request to the JAA if he wanted to be killed by Oki.
Oki believes that a leader should be responsible when his underlings mess up even outside his presence. He has a strong sense of accountability, willing to die to account for the loss of four Order members and JAA branches during his absence. Additionally, he seems to have a sense of honour. Saying that while chasing Shin Asakura, Taro Sakamoto, and Yoichi Nagumo, using guns should be avoided since civilians could get hurt.
However, when Slur took over the JAA, Oki is shown in reality as a cruel and manipulative man that not only sends a suicide bomber to kill Aoi and forces innocents like Shishiba, Tanabata, Torres and Osaragi to do whatever he wants. But he also claims that he wants assassination to become more popular simply because he loves killing. He is also pretty sadistic like when he shows the video to Sakamoto in order to kill him in a explosion while he is in shock. He also shows to have some signs of God Complex Syndrome, as he often thinks he is stronger and faster than anyone at the point of even saying that he could kill Shishiba in one minute, making him to be described by Shishiba as being nitpicky.
History: For some reason, Oki was on a mission overseas. Where he went is currently unknown.
At some point in the story, Oki recruited two new members of the Order, Torres and Tanabata.
Skills & Abilities Overall Skill Level: As the leader of the Order, Oki is a powerful assassin. He claims that he is able to kill Shishiba, a highly skilled member of the Order, in one minute or less.[2]
High Intelligence: Oki is a very intelligent individual that knows about crimes and the assassination world at large.[3]
Master Combatant: Oki is a highly skilled combatant, capable of using his naginata in battle with incredible proficiency. He can easily fight on par with former members of the Order.[4][5][6][7]
Enhanced Reflexes: Oki has incredible reflexes, as he is shown dodging a slash from Satoru Yotsumura’s staff before he attacks him.[8]
Enhanced Durability: Oki is an incredibly resilient man; he was able to survive being kicked by Kindaka without getting any injures,[9] he took a direct hit from Osaragi’s buzzsaw,[10] he took a direct hit by a moving minivan that was driven by Boiled,[11] and he nonchalantly walked into a café after driving off a small building with his vehicle.[12]
Enhanced Speed: Oki is fast enough to keep up with Nagumo in a hand-to-hand knife fight during a car fall.[13]
Equipment Naginata: Oki uses a red naginata decorated with a golden dragon as his main weapon in battle.[14] He can fold his naginata so that it can be concealed within his trench coat.[15]

Keys: Torres
Torres (トーレス Tōresu?) is the newest member of the Order, a group of the strongest assassins in the JAA. He was recruited alongside Tanabata, after the incident at the Assassin Exhibition of the Century and the losses of Hyo and Takamura.
Appearance: Torres appears to be a tall middle-aged man of average build with disheveled light-colored hair, thick eyebrows, a shaggy beard that hides its mouth and sunken black eyes. He wears a polo shirt under a trench coat that hides a bunch of equipment's that guide its weapons, as well black pants and shoes.
Personality: Torres comes off as an lazy, yet extremely egotistical and greedy individual with a unhealthy obsession with gambling, as shown when he ends up amassing a debt of ¥60.2 billion yen to the JAA. He also seems to have a lack of shame, asking Shishiba, whom he just met, for 20 million yen and wants Sakamoto to rise his bounty by killing his helpers.
He seems to have little regard for rules that is against the JAA policy, suggesting that he should kidnap Sakamoto's wife Aoi to find him to follow Oki´s new rule when he becomes the leader,
History: JAA Jail Arc Oki brings Shishiba, Osaragi and Kamihate to a pachinko shop and slots parlor where he introduces the new members of the Order, Torres, playing at a slot machine where he has been gambling for hours. Oki asks Torres about joining the Order and he accepts, having no other option because of the massive debt he owes the JAA. Fed up, Shishiba turns to leave but Torres asks him to lend some money. In response, Shishiba quickly swings his hammer to Torres' nape but finds it chipped away on impact. With that, Shishiba reluctantly accepts Torres as a part of the Order.
Skills & Abilities: Overall Skill Level: Torres is a member of the Order and one of the strongest assassins in the JAA. Before his recruitment, he was already a powerful assassin in the criminal underworld for over 50 years.
Enhanced Strength: Torres seem to be the strong enough to even broke Shishiba´s hammer even when he touched its back,[2] as well slicing in half a cable car with its sandblasters and even destroying half of a entire floor with its bare hands which left Shishiba and Osaragi fall. [3]
Enhanced Durability: Torres is a extremely durable person and is capable of surviving attacks from anyone faster than him despite its slow movements and reactions, such as being crushed on top of a Toyota by Sakamoto after falling off a cable car he destroyed. [4]
Enhanced Endurance: Just like Sakamoto, Torres has shown no signs of exhaustion in a much longer-lasting fight, given that he win against Sakamoto for about 5 times. [5] However, despite its endurance, all the injuries he receives in the head during a 5-times fight by a much-weaker person led him to be weakened. As shown when Sakamoto manages to leave him unconscious when he bash Torres into a floor near a punching game machine with a single fist during a last round. [6].
Equipments: Sandblasters: Torres carries dual sandblasters, as he is unable to afford a gun because of his financial issues caused by his gambling addiction. They are powerful enough to damage the hardest metals and can crush objects into dust. He hides these sandblasters underneath the sleeves of his coat. [7]

Keys: Tanabata
Tanabata (七夕タナバタ?) is the newest member of the Order, a group of the strongest assassins in the JAA. He was recruited alongside Torres, after the incident at the Assassin Exhibition of the Century and the losses of Hyo and Takamura.
Appearance: Tanabata is a tall and slim teenager with beady black eyes and messy grey hair reaching past his ears, almost touching the back of his neck. He wears the usual Order black suit blazer above a white hoodie underneath, baggy black pants, and light-colored shoes. Tanabata also occasionally wears a black bucket hat adorned with many pins and badges with designs relating to the number 7. He carries a light-colored Fender Telecaster guitar, covered with stickers in which he keeps inside a black case when walking, slinging it on to his back. He usually has a calm and disinterested expression.
Personality: Tanabata enjoys music, seen playing outside a pachinko parlor while sitting on the ground in his first appearance. He takes pride in his music and appears to be sensitive about people not understanding the true meanings of his songs, seen when he bristled and attacked Osaragi after she misinterpreted the vibe Tanabata intended a song of his to have. Tanabata APPEARS to possibly be an overthinker (although not appearing shy or really hesitating to complete actions) of sorts, as seen when he is asked about why he is at the aquarium and he thinks “Do I need a reason to be at the aquarium?” And says he’ll write a song about the feeling when he goes home. It is written in a manner similar to that of Joichiro Kaji, thus one can interpret the meanings. Tanabata appears normally with a nonchalant face and no hesitation towards fighting or killer, thus highlighting a possible lack of empathy for others.
Skills & Abilities: Overall Skill Level: Tanabata has demonstrated extreme skill with the guitar, and his fighting style seems to revolve around playing it and sending his songs and the soundwaves coming from it through objects and the surroundings as demonstrated when he attacked Sakamoto, Shin and Nagumo by sending waves emitted by his guitar through a sewer pipe, causing the manhole to explode with a burst on the surface.[2] Additionally, he attached the jack to Sakamoto's arm and sent the waves echoing through his body.[3]
Guitar and Cable: Tanabata is a professional musician outside his time as an assassin, and so presumably has some proficiency in music. He goes on tours. His songs are inspired by killing. [4]
Tanabata uses an electric guitar to attack. He managed to knock Osaragi temporarily unconscious just by strumming his guitar in a particular way. He can also use its cable, by plugging one end of the cable into his guitar, and the other end into his target, and sending destructive soundwaves through the cable. He has been seen plugging the guitar into a manhole cover, causing another manhole cover further away to explode due to the resonance in the sewage tunnels, and has been seen plugging the other end of the cable into Sakamoto's arm, disorienting him by sending the reverberations directly into Sakamoto's head.
Enhanced Strength: Tanabata seem to hit Boiled through a wall with his guitar, as well using him as a guitar by slashing across his chest with a plectrum.
Equipment: Guitar: Tanabata's main weapon used is his personal guitar. He is seen primarily using sonic attacks through air by strumming, or through other mediums via his cable. His guitar is also used as a melee weapon showing it has considerable structural strength.
Cable: Tanabata's cable allows him to connect his guitar to other surfaces or people. His attacks using this cable can manipulate surroundings and also briefly stun people.
Pick: Tanabata is seen using his guitar pick to shred his opponent.

Keys: Satoru Yotsumura
Satoru Yotsumura (四ヨツ村ムラ暁サトル Yotsumura Satoru?) is the former No.2 of the JAA and a founding member of the Order. He was also a professor emeritus of the JCC.[1] He now works against the JAA after he was banished by Sei Asaki in his take over.
Appearance: Yotsumura is a tall and muscular middle-aged man with tanned skin, unshaven goateé, sharp eyebrows and unkempt black hair. He has tired, emotionless yellow eyes that are hidden by a light-colored bucket hat, his outfit consists in a plaid polo shirt under a black jacket, pants and shoes. During his time at JCC, he used to wear the JCC uniform consisting in a white shirt under a black tie and suit.
During his fight with Shishiba, Yotsumura's cheek close to his left jaw was severely damaged, exposing his teeth covered in blood. It has since healed with it forming a noticeable scar on his face in a similar fashion to his old partner's.
Personality: Yotsumura is a laconic man that is calm in the midst of battle, casually commenting that three active Order members was too many to fight but was highly indifferent, even in combat and hardly caring that his son Amane saw his mother's death.
However, he cares deeply about his son like any normal father, to the point that he was willing to kill his wife to save him. As seen in a flashback, he smiled serenely while cradling his son as an infant and spent time with him, teaching him how to use his signature weapon.[2] Furthermore, Amane's grandfather, Byodo, holds no resentment towards Yotsumura for his daughter's death.[3]
Yotsumura desires to walk freely again, hence his reason for trying to destroy the JAA. However, he doesn't fully agree with Slur's ideals and criticizes the idea that Slur's followers are revolutionaries.
History: In the past, Yotsumura was a founding member of the Order alongside his old friend Kindaka, along with being the occasional teacher and lecturer at the JCC. At some point in time, he retired from the JCC and married fellow assassin Shino Yotsumura and had a son, Amane with her.
Yotsumura was the mentor of Shishiba. Around this time, he was assigned a mission to eliminate conspirators seeking to kill the chief of the JAA. Upon getting home, he found out that Shino was one such conspirator, marrying him and having Amane only to use him as leverage for the plan. With his son in danger, Yotsumura killed Shino just as Amane woke up.[4]
Eight years prior to the events of the series, he was banished from the Order and sentenced to death for attempting to kill some JAA executives. [5]
Relationships: Shishiba Yotsumura is a former Order member and a senpai to Shishiba. Yotsumura was indifferent to Shishiba, relentlessly dragging him along on missions.
Shino Yotsumura Yotsumura loved her deeply, admitting he worked hard to wow her.[6] However, he still ruthlessly dispatched her after her betrayal.
Amane Yotsumura Yotsumura deeply cared for his son, spending time with him as a child and gifting him his signature staff. However, Amane did not share the same sentiment. Despite this, he acknowledges his father's love for him.
Skills & Abilities: Overall Skill Level: As the former No. 2 of the JAA and a former founding member of the Order, Yotsumura is one of the strongest known assassins in Japan.
Master Combatant: Yotsumura is an extremely skilled combatant, able to fight against Shishiba and Nagumo, both extremely strong members of the Order and momentarily held his own when Osaragi, another member of the Order, joined the fight.
Enhanced Strength: Yotsumura has physical strength higher enough to casually parry blows from Shishiba even when he is not near him, flip off the SUV he was driving with a single swing of his weapon. [7] As well able to kick a car hard enough to send it off to the end of the car carrier and slice the walls of a bunch of traditional Japanese houses with his staff. [8]
Enhanced Durability: Yotsumura can be capable of surviving a small building fall during his quarrel against Shishiba. [9] He also manages to fake his death even though he was thrown off to a lake by Shishiba with a bleeding wound in the shoulder caused by his hammer. [10]
Enhanced Reflexes: Despite his slow movements, Yotsumura has reactions far faster than an average human, as he is able to bisect 5 assassins in a gunpoint even when he is not looking at them. Yotsumura's wife, who was fast enough to get behind Shishiba without him noticing, was instantly killed by him despite using Amane as a hostage.[11]
Equipment: Three Section Staff: Yotsumura wields a three-section staff with a small, thin blade on one end. The blade is extremely sharp enough to even cut the support beams of a car carrier trailer. [12]

Keys: Kanaguri
Kanaguri (京かなぐり?) is an undercover member of Kei Uzuki's organization and a former member of the Order. Aside from being an assassin, he is renowned for his films that pioneered assassin movies and is the founder of Murder Films.
He is a recurring antagonist in the series, being a major antagonist in the JCC Transfer Exams Arc and one of the main antagonists of the JCC Infiltration Arc.
Appearance: Kanaguri is a tall and slim man with short bowl-styled black hair with brown fades and a film-reel shape shaved onto the left side. He has green eyes with long lower eyelashes, wears black pants, shoes, a light grey polo shirt under a long black coat and a scarf with a film reel pattern. After he lost the use of his right eye after being stabbed by Etsuko Satoda's last act, he now wears an black eyepatch over it.
Due to his passion for filmmaking, Kanaguri always carries a film camera with him.
Personality: An eccentric filmmaker, Kanaguri is an avid lover of the craft of filmmaking and seizes every opportunity he can to score some footage to the point of obsession. He seems to have a short attention span, gravitating to whatever is most exciting to him on a moment-to-moment basis and bringing some more action into it when he considers something too boring. To him, film making is his life, and any time he isn't creating a film he regards as "not worth living".[3] Additionally, he is hated by Osaragi for his strange and loud personality.[4]
Kanaguri's mood greatly depends on his camera as he enters a manic rage, becomes a fierce fighter with determined mentality when trying to film a pivotal moment, and gets depressed when his camera breaks (thus losing all footage), as well threaten to kill anyone who insults his movies. Despite this, he is avery daptable, quickly calming himself down and embracing the setback as a challenge.[5]
Kanaguri's love for filmmaking surpasses his morals as he has sided with Slur to film the conflict between the JAA and the former, not caring which side will win as long as it produces a great film. This stems from his belief that the universe is a one giant movie set, and its inhabitants are actors.[6] He can also act as remarkably and eerily calm, even calmly pondering about the production of his film in the middle of plane crashing from the sky. While freefalling from 20,000 feet, he remained focused on what he was filming.
Skills & Abilities: Overall Skill Level: Kanaguri is a remarkable combatant that in his own words isn't an assassin and doesn't possess an ounce of skill in killing. However, his abilities are superhuman in his ability as a "first-rate" filmmaker. Before becoming an assassin, he was able to fight and kill his good friend who was a first-class professional assassin as a member of the Order. [7] After which, he was fast tracked into becoming a member of the assassination organization for the act.
As an ex-member of the Order, he is one of the strongest assassins in Japan. His abilities are partially linked to his camera, he becomes weaker due to a lack of motivation if it's destroyed but will become stronger if he gets a replacement camera.
Filming Skills: Kanaguri is a filmmaker at heart, even when killing he is keen to turn the scene into a movie. He uses his assassination expertise to produce very well-made and popular movies with inhuman determination. This is so strong that his overall physical capabilities seem to improve, whenever it would improve a scene. For instance, when Etsuko Satoda wasn't able to move Kanaguri's arm that is holding his camera, because it otherwise would have ruined his shot.
Expert Marksman: Kanaguri was able to kill a JAA plane pilot with a headshot through a closed door while hip firing from afar.
Enhanced Strength: Kanaguri was able to decapitate 8 JAA applicants using his clapperboard and crack Sakamoto's bullet-resistant glasses simply by smacking with a smartphone. Later fighting on par and matching with the legendary assassin.
Enhanced Speed: Kanaguri once decapitated 8 JAA applicants in an instant with its clapperboard. On an airplane, he moved behind Sakamoto and Akira Akao so quickly both failed to notice him, and subsequently managed to dodge a shot from Sakamoto, stealing his and Shin's bullets while grabbing an oblivious Akira and taking her with him. Kanaguri's speed is so fast Shin's clairvoyance is unable to predict his movements, almost as if he was changing the future. He is also fast enough to contend with a retired Sakamoto and Etsuko Satoda, landing near-lethal hits on their necks. He was also able to dodge Sakamoto's myriads of attacks and land several blows on the veteran assassin.
Enhanced Durability: Kanaguri took a strike from Sakamoto that sent him skidding across the greenhouse but left him unharmed, he also shows pain tolerance, being completely unfazed after a knife was thrown into his eye. As noted by Shin Asakura, Kanaguri’s motor functions and brain capacity was practically superhuman.
Equipment: Clapperboard: Kanaguri has a sharpened clapperboard which he uses as a melee weapon. It is branded by his production company.
Camera: Kanaguri seems to possess many camcorders that he carries at all times which he uses for filming. The first one we see was broken by Taro Sakamoto after Satoda's death, but he had another by the time him and Akira arrived in Bangkok [8]
CameraCannon: On one occasion, Kanaguri wielded a bulky professional video camera capable of firing high focused energy blasts. This camera was powerful enough to punch a hole through a plane, causing it to break apart midair.
Stage Light/High-density laser: Kanaguri uses what appears to be a high density laser capable of melting small objects and damaging hard surfaces. Though Kanaguri states it's just a normal light, it does seem to be custom made. The beam of light reflects off polished surfaces.
JAA Bullets: During the JAA application test, Kanaguri was given three bullets with "JAA" inscribed across them. These bullets were to be forcibly taken by JAA applicants as a test.

Keys: Kindaka
Kindaka (キンダカ Kindaka?) is the founding member of the Order, alongside Yotsumura. He was an ally of Sakamoto, Nagumo, Rion, and Uzuki in the past. After a confrontation with Uzuki, he was in a coma for over eight years before waking up and allying with Sakamoto and Nagumo.
Appearance: Kindaka is a middle-aged man of average build and height with long slicked orange hair, sharp eyebrows, short unshaven beard and sunken black eyes covered by 3D glasses. He wears a striped dark grey sweater under black utility straps accompanied by a pair of black pants in addition to its trademark Lightspeed Shoes.
During his time being in coma, Kindaka wears a greyish-blue hospital shirt.
After awaking from his coma, Kindaka opts for goggles of a similar design to his previous glasses. He also wears different shoes which are laced.
Personality: Kindaka proves to be a rather calm man. Even while getting seriously injured by Sakamoto and the others he does not feel any anger towards them and instead makes them an offer. He is also quite considerate when it comes to the lives of innocent civilians, avoiding Uzuki when he thought he did not belong to the group as well as wanting to make the daughter of the Chairman laugh, giving Sakamoto the mission to do so.
History: At an unknown time, Kindaka and Yotsumura founded the Order, which at the time, only 4 members were in Japan. The identities and number of members at the time is unknown, however we do know that some of the members he led were Hyo, Yotsumura and Oki.[1] Kindaka used to receive troublesome students that the JCC wanted to get rid off. He either killed them or invited them to join the Order depending on their skill level, as he did with Nagumo, Sakamoto, Rion, and Uzuki.[2]
During the 8 years in his coma, Nagumo provided the expenses for his life support, he also frequently checked up on him. When he woke up, he is told he owes Nagumo 1.15 Billion which he later tries to pay off by hunting down large bounties such as the one placed on Sakamoto. This leads him to meet Sakamoto, Shin, and Heisuke.
At an unknown time after he wakes from his coma, Kindaka reunites with his former colleague and founder of the Order, Satoru Yotsumura.
Relationships: Satoru Yotsumura Their exact relationship is unknown, both seem to be on good terms since Kindaka founded the Order along with him as well as keeping contact with him. He also thinks that Yotsumura values his opinion enough to let Sakamoto and the others join back into the JCC if he recommends it.
Etsuko Satoda Kindaka seems to have heard of Satoda though their exact relationship is unknown.
Yoichi Nagumo Kindaka fought nagumo and invited him to the order where he led him on a mission to escort the chairman's wife and daughter. Nagumo seems to consider Kindaka as his friend when he reminisces during his encounter with Uzuki and Takamura. Nagumo provided the expenses for Kindaka's life support and frequently visited him, showing how much Nagumo cares about him. In the present day they seem to be on good terms and currently work together with Sakamoto.
Taro Sakamoto Kindaka and Sakamoto first encountered during their fight, where Sakamoto believes Kindaka gave him valuable insights in fighting. Kindaka recruited Sakamoto to the order and led him on a bodyguard mission. Sakamoto seems to look up to Kindaka as someone who is a good fighter, as he asks him to train him. Currently, Kindaka is playing a role in helping Sakamoto achieve his goal of taking over the JAA.
Sei Asaki Not much is known about Kindaka's relationship with Asaki, however, in Chapter 178, he says that he always hated Asaki.
Shin Asakura and Heisuke Mashimo Kindaka trains both Shin and Heisuke after meeting them.
Skills & Abilities: Overall Skill Level: As a former founding member of the Order, Kindaka is one of the strongest known assassins in Japan. Being one of the most formidable assassins at his time and one of the only four members of the Order in Japan, he was trusted by the JAA former chairman and Satoru Yotsumura to escort the chairman's wife and daughter to escape Japan.
Enhanced Speed: In Taro Sakamoto's Past Arc, neither Nagumo nor Sakamoto were able to keep up with his top speed. This is both thanks to his impressive physical abilities as well as the shoes he is wearing that greatly increases his speed. It was only thanks to Uzuki predicting his movement were they able to spot him. One day after Kindaka woke up from his coma, he was able to dodge Shin's "stop" command, likely transferred by electromagnetic waves, which travel close to the speed of light. Oki stated that Kindaka is still the fastest assassin alive with not even he, the current leader of Order, being able to keep up with his speed.
Enhanced Strength: During his fight against Nagumo and Sakamoto, he casually flings them about with minimal effort, even throwing Sakamoto through several layers of stairs.
Enhanced Reflexes: When fighting against Shin and Heisuke, Kindaka was able to react a bullet being fired by Heisuke before dodging.
Enhanced Endurance: Even after spending 8 years in a coma, Kindaka is still capable of performing incredible feats of speed without rehabilitation. Even Oki said that he has still been the fastest assassin alive.
Equipment: Onsoku: Labled by himself as "Light Speedshoes" these were a pair of modified Velcro sneakers that he claimed to have been needed to travel as fast as he does. However, it is unknown if this is true as after his coma it seems that he hasn't slowed down even with different shoes.
Knife: Kindaka also frequently carries a knife with him which he demonstrates use by distracting Rion during their fight. The knives he carries don't appear to be custom made and differ.

Keys: Kamihate
Kamihate (上カミ終ハテ?) was a member of the Order, a group consisting of the strongest assassins in the JAA.[3][4] He is recognized as the greatest sniper in JAA history.[5]
Appearance Kamihate's appearance is mostly unknown, but he appears to be a man of relatively average build that wears a pair of baggy black pants. When outside for his work, Kamihate wears a long yellow coat with navy-blue and purple stains on the outside and red on the inside, with its hood keeping his face hidden, his rifle usually emerging from the middle instead.[6][7][8]
Personality: Kamihate is extremely unsociable and prefers not to interact with associates face-to-face, making him a classic hikikomori (shut-in) whose face not even the other Order members have seen;[3][9][10] a year ago, he claimed that his last time outside had been three years prior.[11] When forced to collaborate, Kamihate goes so far as to have a fellow Order member carry a hiragana chart on a paper so that, if the sniper wishes to say something, he can simply shoot at the corresponding characters from afar to formulate messages.[12] This, alongside Kamihate's ability to read the lips of whomever he has in scope, lets him know what his colleagues and/or targets are saying and get across messages to them without having to be anywhere near.[13] When Kamihate does venture outside (whether forced to by his assassin's work or for any other reason), he wears a body-covering cloak to mask his identity, becoming extremely upset if his face is exposed.[14]
One of Kamihate's idiosyncrasies is that he always carries his sniper rifle with him in almost any situation, even at home or off the job.[15][16] Not only does he never set his gun aside, Kamihate frequently emotes through it as a running gag of sorts (such as trembling with the barrel when flustered or agitated), and his speech/thought bubbles and realization marks appear at its muzzle as if it were his head; this makes it seem as though Kamihate's rifle is an extension of his body, substituting his hidden face.[17][18][19][20] Yet another quirk of the sniper is his apparent obsession with girls, first hinted at when he went out of his way to tell Osaragi that she is cute,[12] and later confirmed by Sakamoto. The latter managed to fluster Kamihate and mess up his aim by holding up a picture of a morning news' weather girl. Kamihate claimed that it was not all girls whom he was crazy about but specifically weather girls, reasoning that, as weather means life or death for a sniper, it was only natural for him to consider weather girls goddesses.[9][21]
Much like his fellow Order members, Kamihate has the cold, ruthless streak of a professional killer, allowing him to take out targets one after another without reservations and in a calculated manner.[22] Still, Kamihate is agitated easily, such as by sudden movements from a target; when Heisuke Mashimo was being apprehended by the Order, a brief escape attempt on the latter's part had Kamihate immediately fire a would-be headshot at the captive.[3] When nearly struck by a countershot from Heisuke while he was targeting Sakamoto's gang, Kamihate was taken aback that he would be attacked by someone whom he had done nothing to, calling the outside world scary.[23]
It is later revealed that Kamihate's reclusiveness, apart from his apparent paranoia about the outside world,[23] stems from his strong belief that perfect strength resides within solitude — that forming connections with, trusting, and depending on others makes an assassin weak. It was proving this point (apart from his hurt pride) that made Kamihate so heavily care about preserving his image and world record according to Sakamoto, and it leads Kamihate to denigrate those (like Heisuke) whom he perceives to be too reliant on others.[10]
Taking great pride in his sniper prowess, Kamihate becomes aggrieved if something or someone hurts that pride or threatens his cultivated image as the perfect, solitary sniper. Nine years ago, Kamihate was eager to complete the last hit needed for his Guinness World Record and to become the world's best sniper, showing that he attaches great importance to titles and accolades.[24] When Kamihate broke a three-year shut-in streak to travel to another country and see an artifact indirectly commemorating the kill that had given him his record, he was distraught upon discovering that said kill had been Sakamoto's all along, having been misattributed to Kamihate. Thus, the sniper resolved to prevent Sakamoto from ever finding out about his record's "falsity" (by preventing the retired assassin from seeing the aforesaid artifact at the coming Assassin Exhibition of the Century), a resolve that Kamihate would hang onto for a year due to believing that both his record and "world's best sniper" title were on the line.[25]
Due to his pride, bordering on arrogance, Kamihate is offended when one-upped in any way during sniper engagements, indicated by him trembling out of frustration. During his shoot-out with Heisuke, Kamihate grew increasingly irritated at his foe's boldness and was embarrassed by Heisuke predicting a shot from him. When Heisuke made a bullet of his ricochet in an effort to hit Kamihate, the latter called Heisuke annoying for what he deemed a show-off move, yet felt compelled to respond by making his own bullet alter its course just to prove himself capable of the same feat, while declaring that whoever hurt his pride had to pay.[26] Indeed, Kamihate's annoyance only continued to grow the more Heisuke countered him during their confrontation, such as when Kamihate used the trajectory of Kamihate's shot to ascertain his location, then had his own bullet take the exact same course to land a hit, Kamihate's response being to call Heisuke a loser.[27][28] Out of embarrassment, Kamihate will likewise downplay unsuccessful snipe attempts on his part, explaining them away as practice shots[29] or deliberate misses,[30] or blaming a broken scope.[31] Somewhat hypocritical too, Kamihate made note that a sharpshooter ought to perform as quick-and-efficient-as-possible kills rather than use rebounding "trick shots" like Heisuke was,[32] despite Kamihate's own reliance on extravagant shots to prove his superiority over Heisuke. Once having the latter at gunpoint, Kamihate again insulted the less experienced sniper, claiming that Heisuke's curved bullet had surprised him only a little before lecturing him about his lack of vigilance of his surroundings.[33]
However, when Heisuke saw his face, Kamihate had an emotional about-face and gave up finishing their fight (despite having had Heisuke on the ropes), falling to his knees and exclaiming in overdramatic fashion that it was all over. Kamihate reasoned that nobody should ever see the ultimate sniper's face and that, now that his was revealed despite him having dedicated his whole life to sniping, which demands absolute solitude, he should end it all. When Kamihate acting like wanting to shoot himself failed to provoke a reaction in Heisuke, Kamihate demanded explicitly that the latter apologize for hurting his pride and to cheer him up. When Heisuke expressed his gratitude for what he misapprehended as Kamihate's goal with their fight — to help Heisuke recover his lost sniping skills — Kamihate played along to save face, affirming that indeed he had known Heisuke's problem and been trying to help. Subsequently, while initially rebuffing Heisuke's offer to become friends, thinking that as an Order member he was above that, Kamihate envisioned what having friends would be like. Ruminating over how he had always prided himself on fighting alone, Kamihate acknowledged the possibility that finally making friends may allow him to reach still greater heights as a sniper. Once Sakamoto appeared, revealing that he knew of Kamihate's concerns about his record and that he cared nothing for it, Kamihate took offense, though internally admitted feeling relieved about no longer being alone and that he could finally talk even to Sakamoto. Upon suggesting that Heisuke leave with him, Kamihate was annoyed at being rejected, yet still left Sakamoto and co. with the tickets for the exhibit that they had been after.[20]
Relationships: Taro Sakamoto Kamihate and Sakamoto knew each other from the time that Sakamoto was still an assassin and a member of the Order, and both were dispatched on missions together. Sakamoto is aware of Kamihate's sniper prowess, having seen it firsthand, and can thus recognize Kamihate from his shots and bullets, claiming that all he knew about Kamihate is him being a girl-crazy shut-in; Kamihate took offense to this statement, claiming that it is only weather ladies whom he obsesses over, as is natural for a sniper reliant on the weather, and that he had tried telling Sakamoto as much ages ago, but he never listens.[22]
Kamihate seems to hold respect for Sakamoto and mentioned that being a loner, not a team player, was something that he had assumed the two of them had in common.[34]
It is later revealed that, nine years ago when Kamihate was about to achieve the final kill needed to land himself a Guinness World Record and become the best sniper, a rookie Sakamoto appeared at the scene of his target, to go for the same kill. Though Kamihate initially believed that he had been faster in making the kill shot, which had earned him his title and record, he found out eight years later at France's Assassin Exhibition of the Century (by examining the blood-splattered painting drawn by his target nine years ago during the hit) that Sakamoto had actually been faster, his bullet having done the kill. On that day, Kamihate vowed never to let Sakamoto find out about this lest his record and title might be taken from him (or so he thought).[35] Hence, years later in the present day, Kamihate vehemently tried to keep Sakamoto from attending said Assassin Exhibition, now held in Japan, even spending his savings to try to outbid Sakamoto in an online ticket sale and later targeting him and his group with repeated snipe attempts.[36]
Following Kamihate's duel against Heisuke, the Order member came to realize that, perhaps, making friends would not be so bad after all, even feeling relieved upon seeing Sakamoto face-to-face and being able to talk to him. When Sakamoto clarified that he had learned about Kamihate's issue and did not care for his record, hence Kamihate had nothing to worry about, the sniper took offense to this, even suggesting that Heisuke leave with him instead of staying with Sakamoto. Ultimately however, the sniper left Sakamoto and co. with the tickets to the exhibition that they had been after.[37]
Heisuke Mashimo Kamihate's first indirect encounter with Heisuke Mashimo was when, from a distance, he watched as his fellow Order members captured Heisuke for interrogation; when Heisuke made an escape attempt, Kamihate tried to shoot him.[3] Later on when Kamihate was going after Sakamoto, Heisuke interfered by firing a counter shot at Kamihate, leaving the latter confused as to why someone uninvolved was attacking him.[23]
Heisuke, in turn, decided on engaging Kamihate one-on-one as a way of reclaiming his recently lost confidence as a sniper. He entered a duel with Kamihate by shooting one of the latter's bullets out of the air as a declaration of war, though he found himself quickly under pressure from Kamihate's tremendous sniping ability. The Order member, in turn, became flustered and irritated by Heisuke's increasingly bold maneuvers, first calling him a "loser" upon seeing his invitation to battle, while later seeming to grow embarrassed when Heisuke predicted and dodged a headshot before suggesting that he had seen right through Kamihate, with the latter brushing off his miss as just a practice shot. When Heisuke thereafter fired a ricochet bullet at Kamihate, the latter grew even more annoyed, calling Heisuke a show-off and going out of his way to fire a ricocheting bullet of his own, just to prove himself capable of the same feat.[26]
As their duel went on, Heisuke felt that he was starting to feel Kamihate's emotions through his bullets — of someone who has invested everything in sniping. Kamihate, on the other hand, expressed his belief that Heisuke, as someone who too much cared for and relied on others, could never reach his level as a sniper, increasingly aiming to kill him to prove his point. When Heisuke managed to use the trajectory of one of Kamihate's bullets to fire a counter shot along the exact same course, successfully hitting Kamihate,[38] the latter grew more frustrated, repeatedly insulting the younger sniper. He then went more mobile, jumping over rooftops to close in on Heisuke before ultimately having him at gunpoint after a final bullet exchange. Once Heisuke caught Kamihate off-guard with a surprise closeup shot, the former caught a glimpse of Kamihate's face, causing the latter to suffer a breakdown due to his perfect streak of letting no one see his face — as the ultimate, solitary sniper — was ruined.[39]
For an unknown reason, Heisuke seemed surprised at seeing Kamihate's face.[40][41]
First pretending to shoot himself to get a consolatory reaction out of Heisuke, then demanding outright that Heisuke make up for what he had done, latter misunderstood and thanked Kamihate instead, believing that the Order member had purposefully not gone all out to train Heisuke and help him recover his lost confidence in sniping. Kamihate played along to save face, falsely confirming what Heisuke was assuming. He then rejected Heisuke's offer to become friends, before changing his mind after mulling over what making a friend would be like, and how having a friend could help him reach even greater heights as a sniper. Seemingly accepting the offer of friendship, Kamihate even suggested that Heisuke leave Sakamoto do go with him, before being upset when the latter declined.[20]
Osaragi Kamihate's obsession with women seemingly extends to fellow Order member Osaragi (despite his own claim that it only pertains to weather girls), as seen when Kamihate had Shishiba hold up a hiragana chart just to make an off-the-subject statement about finding Osaragi cute.[12] Osaragi claimed to have seen Kamihate's face, but Shishiba called that a lie.[3]
Shishiba He seems to be on good terms with Shishiba, who also has never seen his face.[3] Shishiba carries a paper with a hiragana chart on his person to allow Kamihate to speak from afar by shooting the relevant characters.[12]
Skills & Abilities Overall Skill Level: Kamihate is among Japan's strongest assassins as a member of the Order and the greatest sniper in the history of the JAA.[5]
Master Sniper: Kamihate is distinguished by his unrivaled sharpshooting prowess, being accounted the "strongest sniper in JAA history" according to Sakamoto. Having earned international acclaim, Kamihate has both held the Guinness World Record for long-distance sniping and been the only Japanese person ever included among KILL TIME magazine's list of the "World's 100 Most Influential Assassins" for the past nine years.[5][42] As noted by Sakamoto, there is no escape for anyone targeted by Kamihate given his effective shooting range of eight kilometers, across which he can snipe targets with infallible aim.[5][21] His shots seem accurate to within a millimeter,[43] and he (at least for his most important shots) accounts for every atmospheric condition like weather, temperature, humidity, and crosswind.[21]
Sakamoto has further expounded that Kamihate is an impressive shot not only for his sniping range but, also, his ability to control an entire area with a single bullet.[44] Indeed, the sniper has demonstrated incredible spatial awareness and ingenuity in using a target's environment against them, shooting extraneous objects near targets to either make or facilitate kills (by launching such objects into targets or using them to alter a bullet's trajectory mid-flight), as well as to obstruct escape attempts or otherwise impede targets.[22][45][46][47][48]
From four kilometers away, Kamihate was seen taking out enemy snipers with perfect headshots, hitting a man through his own rifle scope, triggering a grenade (that he made fly off a target's body with an initial shot) by sniping off its pin, and even hitting a knife midair at such an angle as to make it ricochet sideways into an enemy's head behind a wall.[22] When Heisuke was being apprehended by the Order, Kamihate was aiming a perfect headshot at the captive inside a car while being too far to see from the target location,[3] and shortly thereafter (from that same distance) struck several small hiragana symbols on a paper chart in rapid succession just to make an offhand statement; the latter feat impressed even Heisuke who, in his own right, is an extremely accurate shot.[12] When targeting Sakamoto and his gang, Kamihate was again seen firing shots over a multi-kilometer distance, out of a high-rise building's window straight into Sakamoto's Store with flawless aim.[49] When Kamihate's targets made to the streets in a car, the sniper struck another vehicle's tire to make it veer to the side as an obstacle, forcing Sakamoto's group to stop, and then immediately struck Sakamoto's arm the very moment he was stationary.[45] When Heisuke (himself a sniper genius whose shooting skills exceed Sakamoto's) entered a duel with Kamihate, he quickly found himself overwhelmed by the Order member's uncanny ability to use the environment to his advantage. In particular, Kamihate shot a crane's jib on a roof near Heisuke from many blocks away, causing its rope and hook to fall, before taking another shot that made a street sign fly off at just the right angle to nail the rope into a nearby house wall, causing the hook to swing around and strike Heisuke.
Afterwards, Kamihate destroyed a motorcycle mid-drive with one shot, then made a second bullet strike the inner rim of the bike's still-spinning wheel, in midair, so that it could ride the wheel's angular momentum like a ramp, shifting its course sideways to precisely hit Heisuke.[46] Later, Kamihate was seen hitting a civilian car's steering wheel through an open window with a graze shot, angled to make the wheel rotate and thus the car veer off into Heisuke, before landing two more direct hits on Heisuke (the first bullet of which was, at best, a mere millimeter off from hitting a bystander, without the latter noticing).[47]
Once his scope had been destroyed by Heisuke, Kamihate's sniping accuracy did not overly diminish, and he still proved himself capable of "area-controlling" shots. He was seen hitting an overhead power line along with a water hydrant next to Heisuke with two near-simultaneous shots, causing the snapped cables to fall into the puddle that had formed below Heisuke's feet and nearly electrocute him (Heisuke only managing to avoid it thanks to Piisuke saving him, with Kamihate blaming his broken scope for the miss). Kamihate subsequently jumped in front of a high-rise office building to fire a bullet into a window, straight through a hallway and out the other side of the building without the office workers noticing anything and still struck Heisuke on the other side of said building successfully. Subsequently, the two snipers had a final bullet exchange from opposite sides of a level crossing, while two trains ran between them, both firing their bullets through the moving trains' windows over the passengers' heads without arousing attention, and with Kamihate's bullet scoring another hit.[48]
Enhanced Speed & Agility: Kamihate is rather fast and agile. When changing locations between shots, he was shown jumping from rooftop to rooftop casually, even taking a perfectly aimed shot in midair. After then exchanging bullets with Heisuke while two trains ran between them, Kamihate not only landed a hit on his foe through the train windows, but right after moved to Heisuke's side of the train crossing to take the latter's back and have him at gunpoint without the latter noticing anything.[50]
Enhanced Durability: Kamihate is rather tough, shrugging off a multistory fall onto pavement.[51]
Enhanced Eyesight: Even after having his rifle scope destroyed, Kamihate remained able to take incredibly precise shots from afar, thus proving his acute eyesight.[48]
Master Combatant: Despite being a sniper, Kamihate is far from useless in close-range. He can fight 2 assassins in close-range, using his rifle as blunt weapon.
Lip Reading: Kamihate has the ability to read the lips of those in his sight.[13]
Equipment: Sniper Rifle: Kamihate uses a high-powered, semi-automatic anti-materiel rifle (not unlike a Barrett M82) that he has had since for least 9 years.[21] Made of a silvery steel,[6] it features a long, free-floating barrel within a large, squared quad-rail handguard, along with a large scope mounted on the top rail. The gun is fed from a large box magazine under the receiver (before the hand grip) and on its muzzle has been fitted with different brakes: a smaller, round one with multiple ports and more frequently a larger, rectangular, multi-slot brake.[3][4][52] Kamihate tends to use his gun lying down, using a bipod,[53] and is able to take shots with it over a maximum distance of 8 km,[5][21] using bullets that mushroom on impact.[54] Said bullets are of a high enough caliber that they can not only cover such a ludicrous distance, a single round can tear apart a motorcycle.[55]

Keys: Hyo
Hyo (豹ヒョウ Hyō?) was a member of the Order. Although he didn't make his fame at a young age, he became a formidable assassin over time.
Appearance: Hyo was an extremely tall and muscular man with an angular face, sunken dark brown eyes and spiky dark brown hair (black in the digital-colored manga). He wore a tan shirt under a dark brown suit (in the digital colored manga, the shirt is black and the suit is dark grey, while in the manga, the shirt is light blue and the suit is purple.), a metallic piece attached in the jaw, several earrings, as well two bike chains over his neck, numerous piercings on both his ears, a hoop piercing next to his left eyelid and golden yellow knuckledusters accompanied by black rings over his fingers.
Personality: Hyo, initially, came off as a very arrogant man who was quick to anger, frequently threatening to kill Nagumo whenever the latter annoyed him. However, he was an incredibly loyal member of the both the Order and the JAA as a whole, strictly following the rules and regulations set down, such as when he initially refused to give Sakamoto and his companions information about the JAA regarding Slur's activities.
In his youth, Hyo was considered by Yotsumura to be an assassin with the least amount of talent. Of course, this didn't stop Hyo and instead it gave him the desire to work even harder until he was recognized as one of the strongest, showing an extreme sense of dedication.
Because of his less than stellar beginnings, he was hard on himself, as his status as an Order member made him want to stay at the top with the other members, who he called "genius monsters".
By his own admission, Hyo seemed to think he could never become a "true assassin", as he didn't have some of the other Order member's qualities and that he usually thought about things he shouldn't need to, like worrying about saving people; however, this self-reflection led him to appreciate other people's hard work and dedication, as seen when he saw his past self in Heisuke Mashimo.
Despite his loyalty to the Order, Hyo was not an unreasonable sort of man having given Taro Sakamoto the information he wanted upon realizing it was to protect his family.
Hyo also had a softer side and was a polite man, having yelled at Osaragi to drive carefully as an older passenger was in the car and apologized to a doctor for a disturbance after causing a noisy and destructive fight in a hospital. He also helped Heisuke when his bag was taken by accident and even saved him from Kumanomi's attacks as well as purposely got in the way of Kumanomi's attacks so the surrounding civilians wouldn't get injured; this softer side of his made Kumanomi remark how he was incompatible with being an assassin, something he seemed to agree with, having chosen to save Heisuke even in his final moments. Sakamoto described him as a kind-hearted man.
Relationships: Nagumo Having been colleagues for years, Hyo found Nagumo to be untrustworthy often showing open hostility towards him, with Nagumo annoying him with his usual antics. However, after learning about his death, Nagumo looked visibly angry and fired a round of bullets into the sky in honor of Hyo, stating that the ones who die faster in the world are not the untalented people but those who are kind.
Heisuke Mashimo When Heisuke's luggage had gone missing at the airport, Hyo offered to help him find it. Even though they just met, Heisuke already considered him a friend. Hyo said that he liked Heisuke when the young man impressed him with his sniping ability. Heisuke was very depressed and felt immensely guilty when Hyo died while protecting him from Kumanomi.
Skills & Abilities: Overall Skill Level: As a member of the Order, Hyo was one of the strongest assassins in the JAA. Unlike other members of the Order, Hyo favored unarmed combat.
Enhanced Speed: Hyo was incredibly fast, being able to catch Sakamoto off guard. He also detected Shin behind him and retaliated with a kick. He was fast enough to notice debris being thrown at civilians in his fight against Kumanomi, but purposely got in the way to protect bystanders.
Enhanced Strength: Hyo was able to punch Sakamoto clean through a wall and around with an MRI machine (which can weigh around 4.5 to 7 tons) attached to him. In his fight against Kumanomi, Hyo could punch through a sheet of steel, with the former remarking that his blows were like a jackhammer. Despite Kumanomi's electromagnetic abilities, Hyo eventually overwhelmed her with pure strength alone, rendering her ranged attacks pointless as he'd simply destroyed the metal objects being thrown his way and pulverized a wooden pier with one punch. Even when dying, his grip was strong enough that Kumanomi had to self-amputate her arm to escape from drowning.
Enhanced Durability: Hyo took numerous impacts from an MRI machine when it was activated, turning nearby metal objects into fast projectiles, but was unharmed. He also took a direct punch from Kumanomi, who herself has enhanced physical strength. He could handle being thrown heavy, metal objects, such as steel beams, cars, with little to no visible damage. When Kumanomi ripped his right ear off using her electromagnetic powers, Hyo didn't even flinch and continued to fight the assassin. Only after Kumanomi fashioned a coil gun and shot Hyo multiple times with nails did he take significant damage (including neurotrauma), which did not slow him down anyways. In the same fight, Hyo continued fighting with catastrophic damage, overpowering Kumanomi (albeit momentarily) after being fatally injured by multiple boat propellers.
Equipment: Brass Knuckles: Hyo's signature and preferred weapons were a pair of brass knuckles on either hand with a decorative vine design sketched on them.
Jaw Piece: Though likely not intended for combat purposes, Hyo had a nonmagnetic jaw piece attached directly to his chin. It was durable enough that Heisuke ricocheted a rifle shot off it.

Keys: Takamura
Takamura (篁タカムラ?) was a member of the Order, a group consisting of the strongest members within the JAA. He was the main character that appeared in two previous one-shots, Garaku and Locker Room, both written by Yuuto Suzuki. He was a major antagonist of the Assassin Exhibition of the Century Arc.
Appearance: Takamura was a frail-looking elderly man with slicked back white hair and beady black eyes that are often seen closed. He wears a white polo shirt under a tan business suit, pants and black shoes. Takamura is always seen with his katana, sometimes using it casually for things like a resting cane when he sits down.
Personality: Takamura was described as a "killer with no brakes." Outside of combat, he rarely spoke, with most of his dialogue consisting of incomprehensible muttering. However, he was fully capable of speaking coherently, as seen both towards the end of Garaku one-shot and officially when facing X's Organization. Despite this, he often ignored others and acted according to his own will, though he was highly sensitive to aggression and hostility.
In combat, Takamura primarily relied on instinct, attacking those who displayed hostility toward him (even to a fly). However, he also targeted individuals marked by the JAA or the Order, regardless of their intent. He paid little regard to his surroundings, often allowing collateral damage in pursuit of his targets.
Despite his ruthless nature, Takamura demonstrated a sense of justice, camaraderie, or loyalty. He willingly assisted his former colleague, Taro Sakamoto, in preventing the collapse of Tokyo Tower. However, his allegiance to the JAA took precedence, as he did not hesitate to attempt to kill Sakamoto and Nagumo once Sei Asaki placed hits on them during the Assassination Exhibit. His commitment to his duty extended to self-sacrifice, exemplified when he severed his own arm to escape a trap set by X's Organization.
Skills & Abilities: Overall Skill Level: Takamura was considered to be the strongest assassin in the JAA and the raw power of Order, to the point Slur had hoped he was dead during their attempt to take over the JAA. Even in his advanced age, he possessed incredible destructive power and speed. Sakamoto speculated that Takamura had grown stronger since the former's time in the JAA.[7] As a testament to his strength, Slur speculated during their raid that Gaku may have been the only person to have survive a fight with Takamura despite being severely injured from his slashes. Currently, Takamura is the only person shown to take down Sakamoto, Nagumo, Uzuki, Gaku, and Haruma at the same time with relative ease.
Enhanced Speed and Reflexes: Takamura was deceptively fast even when his eyes are closed. He could move faster than the average human eye can see even when he is walking slowly and perceive to slash a lot of opponents before they can even conceive what is happening. Takamura's speed was shown to be superior to even his fellow peers like Sakamoto and Nagumo. He simultaneously cut Sakamoto and Nagumo without Sakamoto being able to see the attack until it happened.[8]
Enhanced Strength: Even in his old age, Takamura had incredible physical strength. On separate occasions, he was able to block attacks from Gaku with one hand, and the other from Sakamoto, as well slicing half of the museum simply by bracing his sheathe against the floor. He can block a blow from Gaku's giant mace with his sheathed sword without any visible effort or negative after-effects.[9] Takamura used his strength to swing his sword with a destructive force that extended far beyond the reach of his blade. His grip strength is strong enough to hold a JAA assassin in position by pinching their nose through a hole in a door despite the assassin actively trying to break free.[10]
Master Swordsman: Takamura was a highly skilled master swordsman, being a supremely powerful user of iaijutsu (iai techniques). He once decapitated a JAA assassin with enough swiftness and precision that they had enough time to see their severed head spinning in a mirror.[10] He was capable of cutting through several physical structures during his attacks, including museum support pillars,[7] the support legs of the Tokyo Tower, vending machines,[9] toilet cubicles, and various small buildings.[7] [9] Takamura's cuts were so clean enough that severed limbs could be reattached to their owners and retain full functionality, even after several hours if minor surgery is given.[11]
Master Combatant: Takamura was an unstoppable killing force in combat. He usually dispatched most of his enemies quickly, making most of his battles short-lived, but he was also able to hold his own in prolonged battles. Takamura was highly adaptable and could quickly counter an opponent's moves to keep the advantage in his favor, doing this even against multiple skilled opponents and trade blows with little to no harm inflicted on himself relative to his opponents. He is skilled enough in battle to use a bullet shot at him as a means to sharpen his katana mid-fight.[9]
Equipment: Katana: Takamura carried a simple, old katana. It is extremely sharp and durable, capable of slicing through thick steel and concrete with no visible damage to the katana.
Katana's Sheathe: Takamura's katana sheathe has been shown to be strong enough to withstand direct impacts from Gaku and Sakamoto on separate occasions.

Keys: Kei Uzuki
Kei Uzuki (有う月づき憬けい Uzuki Kei?), also known as "X" or "Slur" (☓スラー Surā?), is the main antagonist of the Sakamoto Days series. He is a serial killer seeking to overthrow the JAA with a group of fellow assassins. Roughly around the same time Taro Sakamoto was given his bounty, Uzuki slaughtered one-fourth of the assassin industry, leaving a large 'X' mark at the scene of his crimes written with the blood of his victims.
Appearance: Uzuki is a seemingly slim man of average height. He has medium-length white hair (blond in the digital colored manga) with a long fringe that often covers part of his emotionless blue eyes, also covering even his nose when leaning forward. His hair also covers his ears and is styled in a messy, middle-part haircut. He usually wears a light grey turtleneck (light orange in the digital-colored manga) under a greyish-yellow coat (beige in the digital-colored manga) that reaches below his knees, alongside black pants (grey in the anime and beige in the digital-colored manga) and formal black shoes.
When he was younger, during his time at the JCC, Uzuki wore the same turtleneck along with the same black pants and shoes but without the coat.
After regaining control of his body, Shinaya described Uzuki as a good-looking man with white hair and a white suit.
When Rion's personality takes over, he aquires eyes similar to hers. When Takamura's personality takes over, his pupils turn completely white.
Personality: Main Personality (Kei Uzuki): Kei Uzuki was initially portrayed as a calm and cold man, being able to kill a quarter of the assassins in cold blood without a hint of words. He is also a sadist, considering he almost lack any remorse for his killings and provoked Sakamoto by mentioning his 6-years old daughter when Sakamoto refused to fight with the intention of taking the former's life, hinting that he may harm Sakamoto's family if he were to be left alive.
However, during his groups attack on the JAA, Uzuki showed a friendlier, more caring side which was seen through his conversation with Gaku and the remorse he felt at Uda's self-sacrifice for the others to escape Takamura. As he demonstrated multiple times, Uzuki's cold and deadly personality changes radically whenever he is alone with his friends or those he cares about, showing a softer and friendlier side of him which also seems more vulnerable.
In the past, Uzuki was shown as a reserved, timid, and shy person who firmly believed that killing is wrong and did not kill assassins unless required by the mission or the specific target. His older brother Sei Asaki took advantage of it by threatening to kill Gaku and Uzuki's other friends in the orphanage where he was born if he failed to uphold his end of a deal. Asaki's threats might also have been the reason why Uzuki's main goal, after completing the mission to escort both the daughter and wife of the JAA chairman to safety, was to return to the orphanage where he was raised and save all his friends. His accidental murder of Rion Akao led to him abandoning his morals and become the villain that he is today.
Uzuki suffers from Dissociative Identity Disorder, a condition which developed as a way for Uzuki to deal with the trauma. This condition allows Uzuki to create multiple personas, changing his own characteristics to match those of a specific individual; these personas remain even after the person they're based on dies and are so accurate that even other people who were close to the person whom Uzuki is emulating have trouble telling the difference, an example of this would be Sakamoto and Nagumo who admitted that Uzuki's Rion persona resembled their old friend so closely that it's hard to distinguish between the real Rion and Rion-Uzuki. Since the death of Haruma, Gaku's unknown fate, and the seeming assimilation of the Takamura personality, Uzuki has become a jaded and uncaring individual, a shell of his former self. He seemingly no longer cares about his foster siblings, letting the Rion Akao personality influence his opinions on Tenkyu and is fixated on the goal of destroying the Japanese Association of Assassins no matter the cost.
Uzuki can also mimic, if not outright replicate, the individual's mannerisms and capabilities as well. An example of this can be seen with his Takamura personality who not only mutters unintelligibly just as the real Takamura did but is also a master swordsman, being able to match and eventually cut down the real Takamura despite Uzuki having not shown any proficiency with wielding a katana up to that point in the series.
Rion Akao Personality: The Rion Akao persona possesses a similar personality to the original Rion Akao and originally tried to protect him as it was her purpose, however, Uzuki did not reciprocate these feelings, dismissing her as a mere echo of his friend and intended to seal her away after his mission of dismantling the JAA was complete, recognizing his threat, she decided to put a bounty on Sakamoto's head so that he could kill Uzuki as she cannot directly kill him.
Takamura Personality: The Takamura persona is similar to the original Takamura. Although this persona lacks Takamura's loyalty to JAA and sense of justice, he maintaining the instinct in attacking anyone (even animals) who have aggression towards him. Upon getting this persona, Uzuki acts Takamura in most cases during battles.
Relationships: Allies Gaku Gaku and Uzuki first met at the Al-Kamar orphanage, where they were both raised as potential new members of the Order. Uzuki has demonstrated multiple times that he cares about Gaku and trusts him deeply, whom he considered as his own brother, as evidenced when Asaki took an 13-years old Gaku hostage and threatened to kill him if Uzuki failed to complete his mission to kill Kindaka.[2][3]
After Uzuki indiscriminately murdered 34 people at the orphanage and saved Gaku, along with all the other teenagers, he then formed a group with them. Both Gaku and Uzuki seem to get along well together, mainly talking whenever there's a need to discuss the mission or anything related to the JAA. Gaku appears to be Uzuki's right-hand man in the whole group and also the one Uzuki trusts the most.
Sei Asaki Asaki is Uzuki's older brother. As shown during the Taro Sakamoto's Past Arc, Uzuki used to fear his older brother. Asaki mostly used him for killing, exploiting Uzuki's reserved and timid personality and often threatening to harm his friends if he refused to cooperate. Later on, after Uzuki became Slur, he attempted to kill Asaki, who was the JAA chairman, showing that he no longer feared or felt timid around him. Asaki ordered Nagumo to kill whoever had taken over Uzuki's body during the Assassin Exhibition of the Century Arc and showed concern about Uzuki, asking why he had disappeared, although it is unknown whether this is genuine or an attempt to guilt-trip Uzuki.
Rion Akao Uzuki first encountered Rion during their time as students at the JCC, just before they were about to depart for Kindaka to fulfill their mission. Rion consistently displayed friendly behavior towards Uzuki, who coldly rejected it. The two later reconciled and warmed up to each other during the mission. Following the deaths of both Higuchi and Kobayashi, Kindaka sacrificed himself to save Uzuki by providing him with the antidote, a moment that Rion noticed. Uzuki's response was to flee with Rion in pursuit.
It is later revealed that Rion helped Uzuki escape, after he disclosed to her the reason why he committed the act.[3] Both of them then went off the grid together for more than a year. They became very close during this period of time, to the point of addressing each other using their respective given names.[4] Unfortunately, Uzuki was tricked into killing her by Asaki who tracked them down.[5]
Years later, due to trauma caused by the murder, Uzuki's mind created a secondary personality resembling Rion's to protect himself.
Enemies Taro Sakamoto Sakamoto and Uzuki first met at the JCC when they, along with Nagumo and Rion, risked expulsion. Although Sakamoto and Uzuki didn't interact much, Sakamoto had always been somewhat wary of Uzuki even as students. Upon learning of Rion's death, Sakamoto fought against Uzuki, defeating him to avenge the death of his friend. Years later, Sakamoto discovered that Uzuki had survived their previous encounter. They crossed paths a few times, with Sakamoto unsuccessfully attempting to kill Uzuki again. Whenever Rion's personality takes control, Sakamoto immediately becomes more friendly and approachable, reminiscent of their interactions as students at the JCC. However, Sakamoto still appears somewhat confused about the sudden change in Uzuki's demeanor.
Shin Asakura Uzuki's perception of Shin is a complex tapestry of animosity, morbid curiosity, and profound resentment rooted in their stark parallels as powerful psychics forged in the assassin world. He sees Shin as the "successful" version of what he could have been—someone who found guidance and a found family with Taro Sakamoto, choosing a path of protection that Uzuki, shattered by his own past, was denied. This transforms their conflict from a mere strategic battle into a deeply personal one, where Shin represents a living, breathing symbol of the compassion and camaraderie Uzuki scorns. Therefore, every act of loyalty Shin shows to Sakamoto, and every step of growth he takes, fuels Uzuki's twisted fascination and contempt, making Shin less of an enemy and more of a constant, irritating reminder of a future that was stolen from him, a living ghost of a path not taken. Uzuki would later see Shin as his biggest threat to his plans.
Skills & Abilities: Overall Skill Level: Uzuki is the leader of his eponymous group, X's Organization, and an extremely powerful assassin. He has demonstrated multiple times his immense abilities as an assassin and is insanely skillful.
Master Combatant: Uzuki is an incredibly skilled fighter, capable of massacring a quarter of the assassin industry, a feat so great that the Order had to step in.
Enhanced Speed: Uzuki is able to move extremely fast, appearing behind his opponents without them noticing. He is so fast that he is able to stab an out of shape Sakamoto in the stomach and even catch him off-guard with a swing of his whip, which Sakamoto didn't even notice until after the fight. He has also managed to slash both Shin and Asakura's abdomens before they even noticed or felt it.
Enhanced Durability: Despite his skinny body, Uzuki is an extremely durable individual, as he was able to keep up with Sakamoto's blinding speed during their brief fight. He has also managed to survive being slashed by Takamura and catch off his katana.
Enhanced Endurance: Uzuki managed to somehow survive numerous stabbings in the chest by Sakamoto.
Medical Conditions: Uzuki suffers from several medical conditions that have allowed him to survive otherwise fatal attacks and have access to combat abilities he normally does not have.
Dissociative Identity Disorder Uzuki suffers from Dissociative Identity Disorder, which allows him to manifest alternate personas and use any combat abilities that he has witnessed. He has manifested at least two personas throughout the story. The process of persona creation is unclear, though it appears that Uzuki requires being under extreme stress in order to adopt and/or create a persona. It is likely Uzuki also needs to be interacting with a person, during the stressful situation, in order to create the persona, as all revealed personas so far have been copies of known characters that Uzuki has interacted with in stressful situations.
Uzuki's personas adopt many facets of the person and the persona is based on. Uzuki's Rion personality is carefree and aloof like she is, even remembering some facts which implicitly only Rion should know. Uzuki's Takamura personality has his habit of unintelligible muttering. Uzuki's facial features significantly change as well, though his overall expression remains the same, so it is unclear if there are actual changes or this is merely a stylistic choice. These personas surface in different ways or triggers.
Rion-Uzuki: Rion Akao was a member of the JCC and Uzuki's senior. They disappeared during an incident in the past and lived together for more than a year. Rion's persona has stated that she was manifested to protect Uzuki. Takamura-Uzuki: Takamura was known for his precise yet destructive ability to use a katana. Uzuki manifested this personality when he fought against Takamura in order to preserve himself. While in this persona, Uzuki managed to steal Takamura's katana and cut him in half, killing him. In most cases during fights, this persona surfaces due to Takamura's sensitivity response to aggression. Situs Inversus Uzuki suffers from Situs Inversus, which is a medical condition in which a person's major internal organs are reversed or mirrored from their normal positions. This is a rare condition that is not widely known, which is how Uzuki survived attacks that would normally be fatal from Sakamoto[5] and Nagumo[6], as they targeted non-vital areas (for Uzuki) that are normally vital.
Equipment: Sword-Whip: Uzuki uses a sword-whip, made of a metallic blade divided in multiple sections of a segmented blade which Uzuki uses with long-range attacks and still be able to counter at close range. By using his sword-whip, he managed to temporary block Takamura's arm, forcing him to cut it off and attach it back since he was unable to free from the weapon's grasp.
Katana: Uzuki has used Takamura's katana, stolen from Takamura during combat after manifesting a new Takamura persona. The katana is extremely sharp and durable, capable of slicing through thick steel and concrete with no visible damage to the katana.

Keys: Gaku
Gaku (楽がく?) is one of the two secondary antagonists (alongside Kashima) of Sakamoto Days.
He was an assassin working with Slur and a member of X's Organization as he aids him in overthrowing the JAA. He was an orphan at the Al-Kamar Orphanage, a failed plan to create Order members.
Appearance: Gaku was a tall and muscular young man with spiky slicked back bluish-grey hair and hot pink eyes adorned with a red eyeliner in the outer corner. He wears a pair of black square-shaped earrings, a high-collared navy blue jacket with a yellow button that loosely falls around his body that is covered in multiple scars with the sleeves rolled up, bandaged hands, navy blue baggy pants and white sneakers with light grey stripes and a black lace (the sneakers are fully white in the manga). He always carries his weapon wrapped in bandanges over a bag in its right arm.
After his fight with Takamura during the events of the JAA raid, Gaku lost his right ear, parts of his left middle and ring fingers, and his entire right hand. Later on, Kashima would reattach Gaku's fingers and hand but would not be able to reattach Gaku's ear. As he now wears a circular-shaped patch in the place of his missing ear.
When Gaku was 13-years old, he had a skinny body and wears a black tank top shirt and a pair of white shorts.
Personality: Gaku is shown to be an extremely calm and laidback individual who rarely gets agitated or angry, even during fights or life-and-death situations, such as when he lost fingers and an arm during his encounter with Takamura in th corridors of a JCC building[5]. He often compared real life to a video game, describing a deadly injury as a "speedrun to death" or describing killing itself as a "game". His nonchalant attitude was shown on multiple occasions, such as when he ate snacks or played video games in the middle of a fight. For instance, he compared fighting against the JJA applicants while controlling Shinaya to playing Resident Evil or even using the restroom after getting blasted through a door.
Besides his extremely casual behavior, Gaku was also an extremely brutal person to deal with, having killed JAA members numerous times without hesitation or mercy. He disregarded any physical pain or collateral damage done to Shinaya when he overexerted his body while controlling him, and was shown to have fun during particularly intense fights or even when killing a strong opponent, commenting that the action of killing is something you have to enjoy or it's a waste.
Relationships: Allies Uzuki Gaku is one of the orphans raised in the Al-Kamar Orphanage along with Uzuki, Kumanomi and several other orphans such as Haruma. After Uzuki managed to free all the orphans from the orphanage, Gaku along with a few of them became part of the X's Organization. When Gaku was still 13, Asaki (then in charge of the Al-Kamar orphanage) would take him hostage as a way to force Uzuki to kill Kindaka and once Uzuki had killed Rion Akao, he managed to free Gaku.[6]
Kumanomi Both Kumanomi and Gaku grew up in the Al-Kamar Orphanage and were later freed by Uzuki. Kumanomi has shown to care deeply about Gaku, treating him as a little brother and constantly worrying about him, even starting to cry after witnessing Gaku getting hurt and injured by Nagumo during their fight. Kumanomi has always shown to be very protective towards Gaku, pursuing and attacking Hyo after discovering that an Order member had cut off his ear.
Takamura Despite never knowing Takamura in the first place, he saw him as a enemy. As he ended up slicing both Gaku´s ears, arms and fingers in a fight, causing him to be stitched by Kashima like some sort of doctor. Later on when he invaded the museum, he insulted Takamura after biting the blade of its katana and blinded him until he got impaled to death.
Skills & Abilities: Overall Skill Level: Gaku is an extremely strong assassin that had demonstrated to be incredibly deadly, massacring hundreds of JAA members with his ease as well as somewhat hold his own against Takamura, an extremely skilled and deadly member of the Order. During their fight, Nagumo stated that Gaku is the strongest opponent he’s ever fought.[7]
Master Combatant: Gaku is a very skilled combatant, able to use his large mace in battle with great proficiency and capable of using a one-inch punch with incredible force behind it.[8] His combat prowess, by Nagumo, was said to be monstrous[9] and even resemble Taro Sakamoto when he was younger.[10]
Enhanced Strength: Gaku has tremendous physical strength, such as swinging his large mace around with ease, disemboweling a JAA guard with a single punch[11] and later on proceeded to tear apart multiple assassins with his mace.[12] When controlling Shinaya, Gaku was nigh-unstoppable, wiping out almost every JCC faculty on the island, overwhelming Shin Asakura and Joichiro Kaji as well as other applicants like Mafuyu Seba and Nao Toramaru. Gaku had proved his strength multiple times, sending Nagumo crash through multiple walls of a museum with a single swing of his mace and sending him fly with a single punch.[13]
Enhanced Speed: Gaku is extremely fast, moving so quickly that even several skilled JAA members were unable to defend themselves from his attacks.[12] He also managed to outrun shots from machine guns.[14] When controlling Shinaya, Gaku was able to quickly respond to Sakamoto's attacks. His speed was shown to be on par with Nagumo.[15] After his awakening and speedrun to death, Gaku has shown to be even faster, sending Nagumo to fly and hitting him multiple times without him being able to react.
Enhanced Endurance: Gaku has tremendous levels of stamina and tolerance to pain, he was capable of taking multiple strikes that would kill any normal human being, and remains completely unfazed. After losing right hand, right ear as well as two of his fingers, by Takamura, he barely flinched and continued fighting, reacting by throwing his lost arm towards his opponent.
Enhanced Durability: Gaku is also able to still fight after sustaining multiple attacks from Nagumo and receiving a lethal stab in his gut, managing to keep up with him even after getting stabbed both in the arm and in his stomach.[16]
Equipment: Mace: Gaku carried around a mace-like weapon with a pole and cubical head covered in spikes, vaguely resembling that of a meat tenderizer. The tip of the mace also shot laser beams. It was destroyed in his fight with Takamura but was later replaced.
Console: Gaku was seen playing multiple times with a PlayStation Portable he keeps by himself and utilizes even during fights or whenever he is bored.

Keys: Rion Akao
Rion Akao (赤あか尾おリオン Akao Rion?) was an old friend of Taro Sakamoto and Nagumo from their time as students at JCC and is the aunt of Akira Akao, having taught her how to see the "paths" which lead to a person's death.
Appearance: Rion was a tall, athletic Japanese woman with turquiose shoulder-length hair (blue in the anime) and yellow eyes with white pupils and she had thin eyebrows with long eyelashes. Rion also had a tattoo on her right arm, resembling the Orion constellation.
In her first appearance in Sakamoto's memories and during most of the time at the JCC, she was seen wearing a white tank top with a partially zipped, off-shoulder black jacket and a pair of black pants along with black shoes.
When she first met Uzuki, she did not wear her usual black jacket, instead wearing a long sleeved shirt.
During her time spent with Uzuki while hiding from the JAA, Rion wore a large high-necked black jacket with a hood which she used to cover her face. Beneath the jacket, Rion wore her usual white tank top and a pair of black shorts.
Personality: Rion was a carefree woman who used to do whatever she wanted even if that would lead to consequences[5]. She used to have fun with her friends Sakamoto and Nagumo, sometimes even getting into trouble or causing damage to public structures and buildings like destroying trains[6] or involving the surroundings around her during her fight.
Rion was a very warm and friendly person. She was the only one among her friends, Nagumo, and Sakamoto, who tried to make friends with and talk or interact with Uzuki when he was introduced as the final member of their team in their mission to kill the Steel Dragon. [7] She would often engage in one-sided, rapid-fire conversations with no tact whatsoever.[8]
Rion has been shown to be fiercely protective of the ones she cares about, and is willing to risk herself to protect the ones she cares for. She is aware of this, sharing this fact with Sakamoto when he exposed himself to poison to protect his team, and sharing this with Uzuki when he asked how she would weigh the lives of those she cared for against the lives of others.[9] When she ends up on the run with Uzuki from the JAA, she willingly risks exposing herself to the JAA to undertake illegal freelance assassination jobs so Uzuki does not have to, knowing his personality. She is also willing to help Uzuki attack the Al-Kamar Orphanage despite having no personal attachment to it. [10]
Relationships: Yoichi Nagumo Rion would first meet Nagumo during their time at the JCC, after he joined the assassin department. The Sakamoto-Nagumo-Rion trio were close friends during their time at the JCC, considered excellent students and troublemakers, especially by Etsuko Satoda. They would eventually be expelled together, and would be introduced together to Kindaka and the Order as a result. They seemed to get along really well, undertaking missions together and even defeating Kobayashi with the assistance of Sakamoto and Kindaka.
After Rion's disappearance, Nagumo had done everything to find out about her whereabouts. To the point of rescuing Satoru Yotsumura so he could order the latter on doing some investigation from inside the JAA, as well as financing Kindaka's treatment for eight years, holding on any slim hope of getting the clue that she's still alive.[11][12]
Nagumo would hesitate to attack Uzuki when his Rion persona took control of his body, and took a hit from Takamura during the Assassin Exhibition of the Century Arc.
Taro Sakamoto Rion and Sakamoto get to know each other during their shared time at the JCC. Throughout their time at the JCC, Rion, Sakamoto, and Nagumo would often be seen together, and be recognized as both excellent students and troublemakers. Eventually, Rion would be expelled from the JCC, together with Sakamoto and Nagumo.
Rion would be tasked to kill the Steel Dragon as her final mission with the JCC, together with Sakamoto, Nagumo, and Uzuki. While Rion, Sakamoto, and Uzuki sit around to prevent the spread of the poison they were exposed to and wait their turn for the antidote, Rion would express respect for Sakamoto for defeating Higuchi and Kobayashi, who were collectively worth 1 billion yen on the JAA bounty website, saying he was worth that much. She would find herself relating to Sakamoto after seeing him put the others over himself.[9]
Kei Uzuki Rion and Uzuki met for the first time just before their expulsion mission against Kindaka. Initially, Uzuki remained reserved and rebuffed Rion's friendly demeanor. However, after Rion apologized for her behavior, they engaged in a small conversation inside the car while escorting the daughter and wife of JAA chairman. Her words about killing even her own heart to save people precious to her resonated with him. His attempt to drop the remaining antidote was foiled by Kindaka, at the cost of the latter's own life. Rion witnessed this, and pursued the fleeing Uzuki along the tunnel.[13] After catching up and listening to Uzuki's side of the story, Rion helped him escape the JAA operatives before going off the grid together, for more than a year.[14]
During their time in exile, they grew closer and implicitly develop a relationship.[15] Rion shared a lot of information to Uzuki, such as Nagumo's spy lineage[16], her niece Akira[17], Sakamoto's chastity[8] and her I.D. number as well.[18] They also discussed about living a normal life away from assassins world, with Rion believing neither of them deserved one because of the killings they committed.[19]
Unfortunately, their tranquil life did not last long. Sei Asaki, Uzuki's brother and JAA's new chairman, tracked them down and tricked them into killing each other. Rion did not even blame Uzuki after he murdered her, instead attributing it to Asaki.
Kindaka Rion and Kindaka's interactions were limited to situational necessity, particularly during their mission to escort the Chairman's daughter and wife. Despite their close proximity, they never engaged an actual conversation. Kindaka expressed an interest in Rion's path ability and special vision, However, he held back from exploring the topic further. This hesitation might have stemmed from his condition after being poisoned by Kobayashi, which might have prevented him from further probing into Rion's abilities.
Akira Akao Rion is Akira's aunt and is fiercely protective of her. Rion has stated that she would kill someone else without hesitation if it was about protecting Akira, even if it meant killing her own heart.[9] Even though it was never shown any interaction between them, both Akira and Rion proved to care a lot about each other and have a strong bond, as demonstrated by Akira becoming an assassin just to follow her aunt's path. Rion was also the same person who taught Akira how to see the "paths" which lead to a person's death which Akira still currently uses.
History Currently, there isn't much information about Rion's history. The only few details given are about her kinship with Akira and about Rion being Akira's aunt, as well as their close relationship.
Skills & Abilities: Overall Skill Level: Rion was one of the three greatest prospects to ever step foot into the JCC. During combat training sessions, she would routinely match the fighting capabilities of Taro Sakamoto and Yoichi Nagumo.[20] Rion excelled in direct confrontations as she could see the most efficient way of dealing with enemies and utilize her weapons to the max. This allowed her to put Kindaka, an Order Member, onto the defensive, making him praise her combat skills.[21] Kindaka states that Rion has the potential to be a future leader of the assassin world, alongside Taro Sakamoto and Nagumo. And also stated that Rion's killing pathway has zero wasted movements, forcing him to go on defensive.[22] She was also able to defeat a young Kei Uzuki without sustaining any injuries.[23]
Paths: Rion has the ability to see paths, imaginary lines representing future actions she can take to kill a particular target. Rion has been shown to see multiple paths for the same enemy at one time, indicating that she can simultaneously consider and select between a number of routes to eliminate her foes. She used this ability multiple times, especially against Kindaka, who managed to counter it by blinding her with a few drops of alcohol in her eyes.[24]
Master Marksman: Rion has shown to have incredible accuracy, besting both Nagumo and Sakamoto in a shooting contest, the latter being the second-best all-time record setter on the JCC gun range.[25] As of the current chapter she still ranks 3rd place in the top 10 greatest shooters of all time at the JCC, having scored 86 points.[26] In combat, she has shown to be able to seamlessly shoot her thrown knife accurately to make the knife ricochet and slash her target.[27]
Master Combatant: Rion's combat skills were comparable to that of Sakamoto and Nagumo during their time at the JCC.[28] Her ability to see paths combined with her ability to utilize a weapon to its utmost potential, made her incredibly deadly in direct confrontations. Rion states that she could beat Sakamoto in a one-on-one fight if they were both naked and only had knives due to her ability to wield a weapon at their maximum potential. [29] Even when she was poisoned and forced to fight in a relaxed state to prevent it from spreading, she was able to overwhelm Kobayashi by utilizing the recoil of her gun to increase the power and speed of her knife attacks, and she would have killed him if her gun did not run out of ammunition.[27] She was also able to easily catch up to and defeat a young Kei Uzuki without sustaining any injuries.[30]
Enhanced Endurance: Rion has a high degree of physical endurance. She was able to fight Sakamoto and Nagumo for nine hours straight [31]and keep up with Kobayashi even after getting poisoned. Kobayashi states that he had never seen someone resist to his poison for so long.[27]
Enhanced Speed: Rion is extremely fast. While fighting Kindaka alongside Sakamoto and Nagumo, she was the only one who was capable of putting Kindaka on the defensive. She also stated that she is faster than Sakamoto and Nagumo. During her fight against Kobayashi, after Rion's first attack he stated that she's deadly fast.[32]Rion was able to react to Uzuki's sword-whip attack by jumping over it. Rion also has incredible reaction speed. She managed to react to an imminent sniper bullet
Enhanced Reflexes: Rion has reaction fast enough to even save the life of the JAA president's wife by blocking the shot with her knife and immediately identifying the sniper. [33] She was able to easily dodge Kei Uzuki's chain weapon from close range and defeat him in a quick confrontation. When multiple JAA members tried to arrest her and Kei Uzuki, she managed to steal one of their guns and immediately kill all of them before they could react.[34]
Vehicular Mastery: Rion has showed to be skillful enough to use a motorcycle as a weapon, whipping the rear wheel into Higuchi's face, dragging him all through a public bus. [35] She also avoided a car falling on her by folding a motorcycle onto the road and managed to light her own cigarette using the sparks created by the motorcycle mirror scraping against the road.
Equipment: Pistol: Rion used to bring a pistol with her, as shown during her fight against Kobayashi, where she used the recoil of her pistol to attack him with her knife.
Knife: A knife she used to bring with her and fight with most of the time, demonstrated during her fights against Kindaka and Kobayashi on multiple occasions.

Keys: Kashima
Kashima (鹿か島しま?) is one of the two secondary antagonists (alongside Gaku) of Sakamoto Days.
He is a subordinate of Slur, being the primary antagonist of the Lab Arc and becoming a supporting antagonist in later arcs.
Appearance: Kashima is a tall man that wears a pink polo shirt under a magenta business suit (black in the digital-colored manga) a burgundy floral-patterned tie (the tie doesn´t have flowers in the anime while in the digital-colored manga, the tie is black with red and green flowers), black belt with a silver fivel (he doesn´t have a belt in the manga), brown shoes (black in the manga) and the mask of a realistic reindeer head with a dark brown snout and cream-colored spots in the ears and under his eyes (the spots didn´t exist in the manga). Without his mask, he has sunken black eyes, sharp eyebrows, slicked back lilac hair with dark purple streaks (white in the digital colored manga) and dark blue fingernails (black in the digital-colored manga). He has an X-shaped stitch over his mouth that clearly showing his admiration for Slur.
When Kashima was 17 years old, his hair was styled in a side fringe with short bangs covering the forehead and his outfit consists in a simple black t-shirt accompanied by pants and sneakers that are also black.
After being captured by Taro Sakamoto and having most of his body destroyed after some bombs inside his back exploded. Kashima was taken away by Hana Sakamoto and had his body modified into a fridge equipped with Wi-fi, a ballpoint pen, taiyaki and cotton candy-producing machines and a fan attached on his back. He has mattracks in place of his legs, his arms were replaced by claw machine claws and is dressed in a white polo shirt under a black coat with a star printed in the shoulders accompanied by a door shaped like Sugar´s face, where it hides a jack-in-a-box-like spring in the middle of his chest.
Personality: Kashima is cordial, and business-oriented, and emphasizes a man who has polite manners when killing someone or something. He frequently meets his subordinates at casual venues such as karaoke clubs or fast-food joints and allows them to eat or drink on the job as long as it doesn't interfere with their work.
He has a strong fascination with cutting-edge technology, expressing his disdain for standard guns and knives after becoming a cyborg. He seems to take great pride in his augmented body as shown by his disbelief when Taro Sakamoto managed to beat him during their fight. Kashima's fascination with technology is so strong that he took over a research lab as an "independent project" to facilitate more research. However, despite his obsession with technology, Kashima is still a pragmatic and meticulous planner, rigging the laboratory to explode in case of an emergency as a form of scorched-earth strategy.
Kashima has a twisted respect for life, such as when he started weeping for his subordinates when they were killed by Osaragi and Shishiba (despite having ordered the latter to kill the former) or how he violently stomped on a cockroach Mafuyu Seba had injured to give it a "merciful death" and has shown himself to be a very delusional and self-righteous person, following his warped ideal of justice and believing himself to be misunderstood as he's eliminating "bad people", despite said individuals only committing minor transgressions like bothering a cat when he was younger.
Kashima also strangely dislikes Christmas and "people who talk back". He states that he has his own rules saying that he will not show someone his face until he trusts them and has his own moral compass, as shown when he disagreed with Slur's plan that involves endangering civilians, despite claiming that "revolutions require sacrifices" at another point.
Skills & Abilities: Overall Skill Level: As a cyborg. Kashima can hold up against members of the Order and even Sakamoto for a short period. However, while his physical capabilities are quite high, Kashima's greatest strength is his extensive body modifications.
Enhanced Speed: Kashima was able to catch Shishiba with a casual slash to the chest. Kashima was also capable of holding his own against the overwhelmingly fast Sakamoto for a brief period.
Cybernetic Modifications: 70% of Kashima's body is surgically modified, he possesses a multitude of weapons concealed within his body that he primarily uses in battle, either by unraveling his stitches or prompting them to emerge from his body; some of the weapons displayed or used by Kashima include:
His right arm hides wire-guided claw-shaped hooks inside of a machine gun in the place of the hand. A laser gun inside his mouth, that after shooting a beam, it ends up being completely destroyed. A mass of long knives in his left forearm. A rifle embedded within his ribcage. Limbs that can separate into segments joined by a pair of cables. A cavity in his back that serves as a small door that stores the wires that make his cybernetic body work, he also shown to hide some bombs.
Advanced Medical Knowledge: Kashima was able to reattach Gaku's severed arm and fingers nerve-by-nerve, restoring them to full functionality with minimal surgical equipment. Like when he notes that the muscle tissue on the severed limbs was still alive, but he was still unable to reattach Gaku's ear.

Keys: The JCC (Japan Clear Creation)
The JCC (Japan Clear Creation) is an academy for aspiring assassins. It is described as Japan's preeminent assassin-training program. According to Natsuki Seba, the JCC has existed for around 50 years.
The JCC has an enrollment of nearly 1,000 students with an 8:2 male-to-female ratio, 35 faculty and boasts a four-year curriculum. The graduation rate is 10%, with the remaining 90% of students dying or quitting. Every student lives in dormitories, as the JCC is located on a remote island.
Overview: The academy trains aspirants in a variety of assassin skills ranging from firearm-handling, close-quarters combat and hands-on training. The JCC is described to have an extreme training regimen, and students often do not survive to see graduation. However, well-performing students may acquire an assassin license during their time at the JCC. The JCC is renowned for training extremely powerful assassins such as Taro Sakamoto and Nagumo.
Some teachers such as Satoda-sensei are retired assassins, and teachers wanting to work at the JCC can do so with an internship. Despite their harsh personalities, difficult classes and teaching styles, they mostly care about their students and don't want to see them injured or dead.
Entrance to the JCC is done through a practical examination which applicants must undergo. Tests can be retaken if failed, but are different every year and have a high mortality rate. As per JCC regulation, aspirants cannot have a bounty at the time of application.
Fighting between students is not allowed, but seems to be loosely enforced. Both students and teachers can carry weapons; one close-combat teacher was seen carrying a handgun and students are encouraged to carry a weapon.
The JCC has a Yoshimura Prize, which is awarded to a few students every year. Based on how Natsuki Seba was awarded the prize due to developing an invisibility suit, it can be presumed that the Yoshimura Prize is for those who have made revolutionary developments in their respective departments.
The JCC has no dress code, though students working in laboratories still wear jumpsuits or white coats.
Defenses The JCC is located on a remote island. Entry via boat is impossible as tides are too complex to allow docking; thus the only method of entry or exit is aircraft. The airspace around the JCC is also defended by surface-to-air missiles which destroy any unauthorized aircraft. It can be inferred from this that any intruders that make it onto the island or campus are also immediately killed.
Part-Time Jobs Students can take part-time jobs during their time at the JCC. They vary in pay and risk level. According to Akira, Floaters, Spotters and Test Subjects are some of the most popular part-time jobs.
Floaters Floaters repair and clean job sites after jobs. Floaters have a daily wage of 15,000 yen and are considered to have the lowest-risk job.
Spotters Spotting is a moderately-risky job. Spotters help snipers observe targets and monitor atmospheric conditions and have a daily wage of 20,000 - 50,000 yen.
Test Subjects Test subjects are the most dangerous job. Test subjects are used to examine the effects of newly-developed poisons or weapons. Depending on the risk level, they are paid 30,000 - 800,000 yen per test.
Classes The type of classes taken by students are likely dependent on the major. Some classes have prerequisites, such as poisoning classes which require applicants to be third-year students.
Much like a university or college, the JCC appears to have different majors that students can take. For example, both Akira Akao and Shin Asakura are first-year Assassination Majors. JCC classes includes ordinary lectures (such as "Intro to Assassin History") , but can be interspersed with hands-on demonstrations (e.g having two students take turns using a knife to fight in close-quarters combat classes) or practical exercises (e.g diving or gun assembly).
There are 5 known departments, as shown on an advertisement brochure:
暗殺科 - Assassination Department 暗殺特殊科 - Special Assassination Department 毒殺科 - Poisoning Department 武器製造科 - Weapon Manufacturing Department 諜報活動科 - Spy Department The JCC has graduation tests. Seniors (fourth-years) are given an "Assassin Permission Slip" which allows them to target a specific person for 24 hours. Whether this slip allows the test-taker to kill their target is unknown.
Facilities In addition to normal facilities such as lecture halls, dormitories, libraries and gymnasiums, the JCC boasts modified or specialized facilities not seen in regular schools.
Cafeteria In the cafeteria, students use low-power laser guns to shoot a distant board with buttons. Certain buttons give a receipt for a certain meal, which can then be paid for, with better meals having smaller and more infrequent buttons. The cafeteria is known to have a universally-disliked "JCC Bowl" (consisting of vegetable scraps, army rations and brown rice), a steak lunch and ramen. Natsuki Seba often uses his invisibility suit to walk right up to the board and shoot it, much to the annoyance of other students.
Database The databank is a collection of school records of every student, past and present. In addition to body type, age, and gender the records also list the person's weapon of choice, martial arts specialties and post-graduation activities. The existence of the databank is dubious and a popular urban legend around the JCC and finding it is the goal of Sakamoto, Shin and Akira during the JCC Infiltration Arc.
A man named Byodo is the database. Byodo is a man with a photographic memory, and Amane's grandfather.[1]
Airport The JCC boasts an expansive airport, which is the only way to get in or out. It is large enough to maintain and deploy wide-body airliners.
Diving Pool An expansive diving pool with a diving bell is seen during an expository section.
JCC Pool
Medical Center A medical center is mentioned by a student. Due to the JCC's severe training regimen and remote location, it is likely as well-equipped as a regular hospital.
Weapons Research Department Laboratories One is located in the south building. Natsuki Seba uses this facility frequently and has a habit of destroying other student's projects to acquire raw materials.
Amane's Dormitory A fairly rundown dormitory inhabited by Amane and numerous other Slur followers. A disguised Sakamoto is forced to fight his way through this area after being attacked by students before being able to talk with them to try gain information on the database.
