They have been hot on her trail for months but she knows she can’t keep running forever. Until one day, fate decides to make her cross paths with someone who’d be a potential ally or an enemy.

The streets of Iryllis were filled with the voices of the townsfolk who are just enjoying their daily routine. Amongst the people, clay golems walk around, eerily similar to that of a human as their bulky heads would move around, scouring the area.
With an ear piercing shriek, one of them detects the subtle traces of energy that belonged to a Thermaturge. Only for the sea of townsfolk suddenly splitting in half as a lone individual runs the opposite way. Four golems along with their keepers were hot on his trail and with a sickening thud, a lifeless body laid under the warm sun.
In a nearby alleyway, a young woman watched from the shadows, biting down on her nail. While it was a sight that she had watched multiple times already, it still shook her to the core. She watched as the Golems stood around the body as one of their keepers steps closer to the body that was now laying in a pool of blood. With one swift motion, one of the golems uses its clay fingers and pierced the corpse’s chest, pulling out the heart that was then dropped into a bag that was held by the Golem Keeper. She knew that once beating would soon turn into a blood red gem that would give life to yet another Golem.
She started to walk away until that familiar ear piercing shriek bounced off the walls in the alleyway and she knew she had to start running. She picked up her pace as the loud, thundering steps of the Golems could be heard behind her.
One moment she was running, the next she felt something warm and soft beneath her.
“Oh my stars, I-I’m so sorry—.”
Before she could say anymore she could hear the Golems steps growing closer as she scrambled back on to her feet.
