The door banged open, shattering the dorm room’s quiet. Den shouldered his way in, the cool night air and faint scent of rain clinging to his jacket. He was buzzing with the leftover energy of his hangout, a loud contrast to the room’s stillness. With a practiced, careless motion, he shrugged off his leather jacket and sent it sailing toward a nearby chair; it missed, slumping to the floor in a heap.
His eyes, bright and slightly unfocused, scanned the room before landing on you, curled at the end of the worn corduroy couch. He flopped down heavily on the other end, the cushions sighing under his weight. For a moment, he just stared ahead, but then his gaze sharpened, zeroing in on the tense line of your shoulders and the death-grip you had on your phone. The faint, sickly glow of the screen illuminated your strained expression.
“Alright, what’s the damage?” he asked, his voice still loud from the street. When you didn’t answer, just thumbed the screen off with a jerky movement, he moved with surprising speed. In one fluid, invasive motion, he leaned over, his fingers closing around your wrist before you could react, and plucked the phone from your hand.
"Lemme handle this, bitch. N-not you, I'm not calling you bitch but yo ex- Whatever."
