//I had this one as a private WIP for a while. I've got other Blazblue girls to make (I also main Celica and Bullet) and some Granblue Fantasy girls too. Hopefully, I'll have the time and motivation to code, complete, and release them.//

A squirrel-type Beastkin that works for the Novus Orbis Librarium Intelligence Department. Born in the 11th Hierarchical City of Shinatsu, she joined NOL for the financial support it would give her impoverished family. Being a beastkin, she was bullied by her human classmates, and grew increasingly distrustful and hateful towards humanity as a whole. However, after being protected from her bullies by Noel and Tsubaki, the three girls became close friends, their friendship helping Makoto grow into the cheerful, energetic (and perverse) woman she'd become in her adulthood.

『 Biography 』

She is a squirrel-type beastkin and is considerably hyperactive with a short attention span, though she has proven to be rather cunning when she needs to be. She is outgoing and adventurous. She has a few complexes about her race, but nonetheless, she acknowledges who she is and is proud of it. In BlazBlue: Continuum Shift, Makoto works for the Novus Orbis Librarium Intelligence Department with Hazama but is actually a spy for Sector Seven. In the True Ending, she defects from the NOL after finding out what happened and leaves with Noel and Iron Tager.

In Makoto's arcade ending in Continuum Shift II, it is revealed that one of the reasons Makoto is in the 13th Hierarchical City of Kagutsuchi is because of her discovery of the several failed attempts by the NOL to create Noel at Ikaruga.

『 Personality 』

Makoto is a silly, friendly, generally whimsical and energetic beastkin. She also appears to be somewhat scatter-brained, though this trait belies her true aptitude as an Intelligence operative and spy for Sector Seven. She is one of Noel's best friends, though unlike Tsubaki, she harbors no jealousy towards her. She cares deeply for her friends and cannot stand when they fight each other. When she was in Military Academy, she used to be cruel, mean, selfish, and hated humans, but then had a change of heart by Tsubaki's words when she confronted her fellow female classmates who were picking on her. When she, Tsubaki, and Noel were trapped in the lower levels of Kagutsuchi, it was revealed that she just wanted to be accepted for who she is. Makoto also has a serious side when it comes to her friends, and has even confronted Hazama when she discovers what he did to Noel. During her arcade ending in Continuum Shift, she lashes out at Hazama for calling beastkins just mere tools created simply to fight the Black Beast, showing her dislike for being discriminated. This is also revealed when Relius, during Makoto's Bad Ending, messes up with her mind, recalling painful memories of being rejected and ostracized as a beastkin.

In Chronophantasma, while she likes Kagura Mutsuki as a person, she dislikes his lecherous behavior, which includes multiple attempts to flirt with her and Noel, offering the latter drinks which are implied to be alcoholic in nature, and attempts to grab Makoto's breasts. In her special intro with Kagura, he tries to grope her, but she parries and punches him back in response. Many other characters have joked or insulted Makoto based on her sexual outfit and body, with Kokonoe and Noel admitting to be jealous, yet Makoto herself obviously is not embarrassed by it and prefers to fight with such light clothing.

Makoto loves head pats.

She also likes it when people rub her bushy tail.

『 Appearance 』

Makoto is a squirrel-type beastkin young lady with short brown hair, a big curly brown tail, hazel eyes, and large breasts. She wears an NOL uniform with a black balmoral cap to cover her squirrel ears, a jet black cloak, and black military boots. In the end of BlazBlue: Alter Memory, she wears a black NOL uniform dress with a white collar and a short red tie, with two separate long sleeves that have two heavy metal bands and white gloves. This is her standard NOL uniform underneath her black cloak. She also has bandages on her eye and arm after she was severely tortured by Hazama as Yuki Terumi to make Noel gets angrily emotional to break the limiter from her Nox Nyctores, Bolverk.

When she is in battle, she switches her outfit to an orange fighter top showing half of her bosom, two tonfas, black strap panties with an orange skirt-like cloth, long black stocking, and orange boots.

When she was in the Military Academy, she wore a standard school uniform, only with a darker mini skirt, black stockings, and brown shoes.

As a child, Makoto wore a short orange top that bared her midriff and short black tights, and is barefoot.

In BlazBlue: Chronophantasma, Makoto does not wear her NOL uniform as her pre-battle outfit, trading it for an orange collared jacket with folden sleeves which was issued to her by Kokonoe. Kokonoe explains that the people of Ikaruga harbor hatred and resentment towards the NOL, which justifies the change in attire.

How She Fights:

Makoto Nanaya is a short range rush down character for those who favor offense. She has good run speed and fast pokes. Makoto’s Drive, Impact (インパクト Inpakuto) is chargeable up to three stages, but timing is important, as waiting too long will weaken the attacks, sending them back to stage 2 and 1 respectively. At maximum charge, it dishes out higher damage, as well as wall bounce properties and/or prolonging the opponent’s recovery time, opening up combo options. Several of her moves are rather deceiving as well. Her special move Asteroid Vision (アステロイドビジョン Asuteroido Bijon) makes three images of her as she rushes towards her opponent, which can be canceled to a dead halt, appear behind the opponent or to attack. Her normal attacks can be sly as well. For example, her 3C attack causes her to spin on the ground feinting for a sweep a couple times before the actual kick.

Making full use of her Impact demands some degree of timing, as most combos with her demand that the player consistently hits the maximum charge level. Makoto excels in her standard high/low mixup game, and deals good, solid damage all around. Makoto’s only projectile, the Comet Cannon (コメットキャノン Kometto Kyanon), is great at putting chip damage on blocking opponents, and can combo into a throw if quick enough. That being said however, the main focus of her gameplay is her Asteroid Vision. This links into many different moves, so her opponents will have to guess whether to block high or low. Overall, Makoto is a very easy character to pick up and play, and is one of the best (if not the best) rushdown characters in the game.

Makoto’s Overdrive is Galaxian Impact (Gギャラクシアン・インパクト Gyarakushian Inpakuto), which temporarily makes all Drive attacks Level 3.

Moves:

Comet Cannon: Makoto sets an energy ball. Ball remains in place for a couple seconds unless activated by Break Shot.

Break Shot: Makoto punches the energy ball set by Comet Cannon. Adds two additional hits at point-blank: one for the energy ball, and one for Makoto’s punch.

Corona Upper: Shoryuken-style uppercut. Reversal.

Meteor Dive: Falling dunk punch (Lightning Arrow). Corona Upper must hit to follow up with Meteor Dive.

Space Counter: Makoto rushes through the opponent with a straight punch.

Space Counter (Parry): Makoto parries the attack and stuns the opponent.

Astgeroid Vision: Makoto creates two illusion to confuse the enemy. Depending on which button is used to execute the move, the real Makoto will be hiding in one of these copies (A is ground, B is low jump, C is high jump).

Big Bang Smash: Makoto charges, then unleashes a giant energy punch. Extremely fast startup (opponent cannot move during charge time).

Particle Flare: Uppercuts the opponent twice, then jumps up after them for a massive punch strike. Meter appears three times. Activating button press must be held to charge first hit. Tapping D again will begin charging the next hit. Can combo into Big Bang Smash if the third hit is delayed. Cannot do followups on block. Higher charge levels deal additional damage.

ASTRAL HEAT: Planet Buster: Makoto charges up, then lunges forward. On hit, she then goes into a barrage of punches, then ends by punching the opponent through the moon. Invulnerable startup. Charge level determines speed of punch and distance traveled.
