Vector blames Rouge for bringing Shadow to Windmill Village, from Sonic the Hedgehog #6. During the inevitable confrontation between Sonic and Shadow, Rouge revealed herself as the Chaotix's anonymous source when Vector chastised her for leading Shadow to Eggman's location, explaining that she had engineered the situation in order to prevent Shadow from doing anything reckless. She proceeded to speak with "Mr. Tinker" as he hid behind his barricade in his home, learning his story and apparent memory loss. When Shadow teleported inside Tinker's home, Rouge tried to calm him down and explain what she had learned, but Shadow told her that he had already talked it out with Sonic. Battle For Angel Island:

Rouge and Shadow were later called in to aid the Resistance against the new threat of Neo Metal Sonic, who had impersonated Eggman, taken command over his Egg Fleet and the Eggman Empire, and had now successfully captured Angel Island and the Master Emerald. She and Shadow were appointed to Team Two as part of a three-pronged attack to take on Neo Metal Sonic. On the journey to Angel Island, Rouge questioned Shadow about his motives for going from lone wolf to joining a massive group like the Resistance for this battle, only for him to remain secretive of his reasons. After the Resistance's battleship was shot down, the fight began, with Rouge saving Tangle the Lemur by flying her out of the explosion. Shadow quickly disappeared from Team Two; not surprised by this, Rouge followed Amy's orders to destroy the guns of the battleship they were attacking. During the assault, she took out a few Egg Pawns with kicks and bombs. When Tails hijacked an Egg Fleet battleship to attack the rest of the fleet parked on one of the wings protruding from Angel Island, Rouge grabbed Amy and flew her to another battleship. After a safe landing, the two women briefly conversed about Shadow discarding their plan; they suspected that he would most likely be going after Neo Metal Sonic on his own (indirectly aiding Sonic and Knuckles), which Rouge vowed to "chew him out" for later.

Sometime later, the Resistance saw Angel Island beginning to fall as a massive robotic dragon approached them; Neo Metal Sonic had used the power of the Master Emerald and the bio-data of Shadow and Sonic to turn into Master Overlord. A new plan was quickly forged to disable the wings of the metal behemoth as Knuckles tried to remove the Master Emerald powering it. To this end, the Resistance, still aboard an Egg Fleet ship, charged towards the Master Overlord and swarmed onto his body once he caught the vessel in his grasp. Rouge flew Tangle and Whisper into the fight, planting her bombs along one of Master Overlord's wings; Whisper detonated them with her Variable Wispon, cleanly tearing off the entire structure. Master Overlord quickly threw off his attackers, sending them hurling towards the sea below before Silver caught them all using his powers. Master Overlord then attempted to attack Silver, only for Tails to ram him with his commandeered battleship and give Knuckles the chance he needed to finally remove the Master Emerald. With Angel Island floating again and Metal Sonic reduced to his original form, Rouge and the Resistance were in high spirits - except for Shadow who skulked away, which Rouge noted as "That's so [him]" before joining the after party.

As everyone got ready to leave, Rouge managed to find an Eggman beach chair and used it to relax on top of the newly repaired Egg Fleet battleship. Sonic soon joined her for a chat and asked if she was going to return to spying once they got back home. While Rouge remained ambiguous, she found enjoyment in the view of the Master Emerald. Curse of the Pyramid:

The brothers used their noxious stench on Rouge in an attempt to slow her down and prevent her from getting the treasure first. Rouge quickly moved from the area and entered another room, only to find Rough and Tumble fighting an Egg-Golem. She knew that in order to defeat it, she had to find its remote. Rouge looked around until she heard a beeping noise. Once she found the source, she found a small group of villagers who had taken refuge in the pyramid and were using its traps to scare off intruders. Rouge decided to help them and dressed herself up as a mummy in old curtains in order to scare off the superstitious Rough and Tumble. Sure enough, Rough became frightened by Rouge and ran out of the pyramid, carrying Tumble in his arms. Afterwards, the village elder permitted Rouge to help herself to the treasure but she was asked by another villager not to tell anyone where she found it.

Crisis City:

Rouge later learned from some intel that Dr. Eggman (who had regained his memories and gone back to his old ways) was heading towards Sunset City in his Faceship to create a Zombot outbreak in the city. Needing help to intercept Eggman, Rouge called Sonic, who agreed to come and aid them. Regardless, Eggman still managed to distribute the Metal Virus in the city, creating a colossal Zombot outbreak. With Shadow finding transport for the uninfected citizens and Omega handling Zombots, Rouge coordinated an organization of the uninfected citizens at the Grand Gold Flicky Hotel. When Sonic arrived to help out, Rouge found him and told Sonic to bring the survivors to the hotel. Going there herself, Rouge would tell the city's defense force to protect their flank from an impending horde of Zombots she had discovered until Sonic arrived. As Rouge noticed the Metal Virus gunk on Sonic, Sonic told her that though he was infected with the Metal Virus too, his speed helped keep it in check. At her remark of how sloppy the assault was, Rouge became irritated when Sonic informed her that Eggman actually had no control of the Zombots. Rouge, in turn, told Sonic that Shadow was getting a transport for the survivors. Soon after, Shadow returned with a truck to transport the uninfected citizens away in. Sonic then took off to subdue his infection, leaving Rouge to guide the citizens into the truck. In the process, Omega helped Rouge by keeping Zombots from coming close to the truck. Meanwhile, Shadow fought the other hordes of Zombots in a manner that Rouge noted was reckless. Eventually, Shadow got infected, but continued to fight in spite of Rouge calling for him to retreat and run off his infection. Rouge asked Omega to cover Shadow with his gunfire, but Omega could not divide his fire, as it was needed to keep the other Zombots off the truck. As Shadow got overwhelmed by the Zombots, Rouge called Amy to send anyone she could to Sunset City as their Zombot situation had gotten out of hand. When Sonic returned, Rouge asked him to deal with Shadow, who had become a Zombot.

As Sonic fought Shadow, Rouge continued to guide the uninfected citizens into the truck. After she finished, Sonic told Rouge to go as he covered her. With little hesitation, Rouge drove the truck away from the hotel. Shadow attempted to chase the truck, but he was stopped by Sonic. Rouge managed to make it to Restoration HQ with little problems. Much later, when Rouge was planning her next move, Sonic arrived at the HQ and confirmed to her that Shadow was lost to the Metal Virus. She gathered intel on the ship and almost had a plan to steal the Chaos Emeralds that Eggman possessed to power it. However, after the Deadly Six were invited onboard by Dr. Starline, things started to get out of his and Eggman's control. In the confusion, Rouge sent a message to Orbot and Cubot to feign content with serving the Deadly Six so they could keep their free will and help her spy on the Zeti's deployments and coordinate a counterattack. She then contacted the Restoration, who were now on Angel Island and abruptly visited by Eggman, Starline and Metal Sonic; she informed them of what Eggman had been up to with the Faceship and told them of her current plan with Orbot. When Amy checked in with Rouge later, she told her that Zavok was now searching for Eggman, meaning that their counterattack had to be done soon. After Cubot distracted Zavok, Rouge told him and Orbot to send Amy the latest coordinates of the other members of the Deadly Six and requested that they attack now. When Orbot asked how she will retrieve the Zavok's Chaos Emerald, Rouge claimed that she was weighing her options and asked the robots to keep playing along for now.

As the Faceship approached Angel Island, Rouge made her move and stole the white Chaos Emerald that had been left to power the ship. She taunted an angry Zavok and then escaped through the bridge windows. As she joined the remaining survivors on the island, the Faceship's systems short-circuited and it crashed down onto the large horde of Zombots that Zavok had led below. After giving the Emerald to Sonic, she stated that they would get the final Emerald after the fires died down as Zavok was not going anywhere. Contrary to this belief, Zavok simply emerged from the rubble and transformed into Giant Zavok with his Chaos Emerald. He then attacked the island with fireballs and handfuls of Zombots, the latter of which included a number of familiar faces to Rouge and the others. While Sonic, Silver and Metal Sonic went off to retrieve the final Chaos Emerald from Zavok, Rouge secretly evaded the battle and instead went to spend her supposed final moments with the Master Emerald. Eventually, with the combined efforts of Super Sonic and Super Silver, they were able to warp the entirety of the Metal Virus away from the world and to the sun. Once a cured Knuckles and Shadow caught wind of Rouge's antics, they shared their anger at her.

Out of the Blue:

Rouge remained atop the Master Emerald for a while until Knuckles came by to tell her that Eggman had escaped and she was supposed to be watching him. Rouge turned it on him, saying that he should have been on watch since he was the island's guardian. As Eggman was no longer on the island, Knuckles said that it was no longer his problem and told Rouge to get off the Master Emerald. Rouge jokingly asked for five more minutes, to which Knuckles replied that he tolerated her proximity with the emerald this long since she played a major role in saving the world but asked her not to make him throw her off of the island. Rouge noted Knuckles' stubbornness, but complied and ran her finger past his locks as she said her goodbyes and left.

Sometime later, Rouge discovered that the Deadly Six were laying low and not causing much trouble. She could not find Sonic or Omega anywhere and went to tell this to Shadow. After a difficult search, Rouge finally found the hedgehog in Forest Hill and told him of what happened. She questioned if Shadow was actually listening, to which he stated that he was. She then asked him why he was brooding more than usual and said that if he could not talk about it, she would leave it be. Shadow turned to her and said that he owed Sonic, but now he was gone and that was all to it. Rouge smirked and touched Shadow's shoulder in understanding. As she began to leave, she told Shadow of the party that was going to be hosted at Spiral Hill Village tonight, but he passed on it. At the party, Rouge peered into the Mineral Museum with a high intrigue. Soon, the party was crashed by Eggman arriving in a large mecha with the intent of destroying everyone. As the battle with Eggman ensued, Rouge moved into the Mineral Museum and acquired the museum's exhibits so that they could not be stolen by the Babylon Rogues. She also took part in the fight against Eggman's mecha, firstly by helping Tails get to the mecha's rear and revealing the interface panel for Tails to connect to, thereby allowing them to reject Gemerl from the mecha. Rouge also wanted Tails to free Omega, who served as the core of the mecha. Unfortunately, Omega was hardwired into the mecha. She then got Tails away from Eggman's laser pistol and rejoined the attack on the mecha. Eventually though, Sonic returned and helped free Omega and defeat Eggman. After Eggman had departed, Rouge was forced into a group hug by Tangle.

Chao Races and and Badnik Bases:

When the broken Omega was brought to Tails for repairs with Amy's help, Rouge provided Tails with Omega's blueprints from Dr. Eggman's personal files. However, the plans were in a code Tails could not translate. Tails thus decided to break into one of Eggman's abandoned bases with Sonic and retrieve the code ciphers from the Eggnet. Rouge then planned on leaving and wait for Omega to be rebuilt. However, when she heard that Tails still lacked spare parts from the E-100 Series, Rouge told them about Clutch the Opossum, the Chao racing champion from White Park Zone, who might have the parts they need in his collection. To get close to him however, they had to enter the White Park Chao Racing Circuit. For her plan to work, Rouge would need to gain Clutch's trust, two more people and a Chao. Amy decided to join Rouge, and they both called Vanilla and convinced her to let them take Cream and Cheese with them. On the way to White Park Zone, Rouge and her crew encountered Shadow, who, despite the purpose of their mission, had no intention of helping them. In the White Park Grand Chateau, Rouge entered the Racing Circuit's grand prix under the pseudonym "Facet" and signed up Cheese to compete in the Racing Circuit's qualification round. Though Cream pointed out to Rouge that she had lied, Rouge told her it would not hurt anybody. After Cheese passed the qualification round and entered the qualifying bracket, Clutch met Rouge and told her to meet with him later before giving her his business card. Though Amy thought this was too easy, Rouge assured her that she could handle whatever Clutch was planning. Arriving later in Clutch's penthouse suite, Clutch exposed Rouge immediately, knowing that she was a world-famous thief. Despite this, he made Rouge an offer: if Cheese won the race tomorrow, she could give them to him, and she could take whatever she wanted from his collection. Telling him that she would consider the proposal, Rouge took her leave. Omega, whom Rouge was holding in her suitcase, pointed out that Cheese was not her property. Rouge then revealed that had no intention of handing over Cheese, before telling Omega that she had a plan and that she needed his help. Moments later though, Rouge met a hooded figure she believed to be one of Clutch's cronies, sent to intimidate her. However, she was shocked to find out that the figure was actually Dr. Starline. Starline then put her into a hypnotic trance and planted a subliminal suggestion in her mind for future plans while making her unaware of their encounter.

The next day, Rouge showed up at breakfast unexpectedly, which scared Amy, who suspected she was stealing from the hotel guests. However, Rouge admitted that they were not worth stealing from. After a while, the whole team set off for more rounds of Chao Racing to ensure their participation in the semi-finals. In the final race, Cheese beat Clutch's Dark Chao and got to the semi-finals. As Clutch then casted a glance at Rouge, she said she wanted to take Cheese to the first-aid tent to see if they were hurt. Amy and Gemerl would not let her go anywhere, however, so Rouge revealed that she wanted to trick Clutch by turning the whole situation against him when offering him Cheese in exchange for the parts they needed. Amy agreed on the plan, but on the condition that she and Cream came with her. Later in Clutch's suite, Rouge calmed Gemerl when Clutch insulted him, before assuring Clutch that she was here to do the trade. She also quietly assured Cream that she had everything under control. As she was about to hand over Cheese though, she spoke the codewords that Omega was expected to respond to. There was no response, however, and it was only a moment later that Shadow appeared and knocked out Clutch. When Rouge admitted that she did not expect any help from him, Shadow admitted that he only did it for Clutch's Chao and the other Chao, whom Clutch would imprison after losing their races to him. Rouge then decided to leave Amy and Cream to guard Clutch and free his Chao while she went off to call Tails herself and have him come and fetch him the spare parts Omega needed.

Staying true to her word, Rouge called Tails. However, acting upon Starline's suggestion, she said there was a problem in White Park Zone and directed Sonic to assist Amy and the others while Tails was to meet up with her, sending them the given coordinates. When Tails later arrived alone as intended, a hypnotized Rouge attacked him. She was then tied up and, together with Tails, seated in a roller coaster led by Dr. Starline. There, Rouge told Tails with dismay about how Starline had used her. When Sonic and Shadow later showed up, Starline triggered an avalanche above the White Park Grand Chateau. He then gave the two hedgehogs a choice: save Rouge and Tails, or the hotel guests at the White Park Grand Chateau from the avalanche. Ultimately, Shadow refused to help Rouge, so she cut the ropes hold her herself and advised Tails to do the same. She then gave Omega his codeword, prompting Omega to make a sudden loud noise. Surprised by the noise, Starline lost his balance and fell off the roller coaster. Rouge then persuaded Shadow to go help Sonic stop the avalanche, before flying to the White Park Grand Chateau with Tails and Omega to assist the others with the evacuation and get the parts they needed for Omega. After they had sent the guests away however, Starline appeared and blocked their path, casually attempting to persuade them in handing over Tails. Scoffing at his request, Rouge and Amy proceeded to take Starline on in a fight, with Rouge taking delight at seeking payback for being hypnotized and captured. However, Starline soon managed to break free of the fight and tried to kidnap Tails. However, he received a surprise kick from Belle and was then buried by the avalanche. Fortunately, the chateau managed to withstand the avalanche. Rouge then started looking for Sonic and Shadow from the air, but Amy had a feeling that they were somewhere under the snow. To Rouge's surprise, Sonic and Shadow soon after emerged from the snow. Layer, back at Tails' Workshop, Omega was rebuilt by Tails and Belle, and Rouge and Amy welcomed Vanilla, who heard about their whole adventure from Cream, when she arrived. Rouge then disappeared quickly to avoid any awkward excuses when Vanilla heard about all the dangers Cream had been through.

Rough Patch:

Rouge caught wind that the Mineral Museum was exhibiting a Chaos Emerald and went to Spiral Hill Village to scope it out. While there, she was approached by Tumble the Skunk to join him on an operation to steal the Emerald. Rouge agreed and Tumble explained the plan. She was surprised by his competence and agreed to the plan. When they broke into the museum, they ran into Rough and Tangle, who were also attempting to steal the emerald. Rouge caught on to the real reason Tangle was there an told Tumble the other two must of followed them to stop them from taking the Emerald. As Rough and Tumble fought, Rouge talked with Tangle about what they were doing there. Rouge lied and said she was there to protect the Emerald like Tangle, then proposed to team up to take the skunks out. She excitingly agrees to it and the two even do a rhyme to counter the skunks. As Tangle apprehended the duo, Rouge took the Chaos Emerald out of its display and flew off with it, apologizing to Tangle for leaving her, but also saying stealing is who she is.

Urban Warfare:

Rouge convinced Team Dark infiltrate Eggperial City to destroy as much as they could and to loot any valuables they could find, specifically from Eggman's private vaults. As they started to fight the Badnik Horde in the city, Sonic and Tails found them. Amy, Blaze, and Silver later joined them. Rouge tried to hid her material intentions for being in the city from Sonic, but Amy saw right through her and Rouge fessed up. Tails and Silver suggested they should team up so they can take out the city. Omega said the conversation was irrelevant to their mission and Rouge coldly told the other heroes they will only slow them down. Moments later, Doctor Eggman spoke over the city's PA to introduce his self-repairing and self-building city to them. Eggman then released a horde of Shadow Androids from a Blowfish Transporter to attack and "welcome" the group.

The group is able to hold off the Androids, but Rouge got worried about their situation. Shadow sayidthe Androids have no strategy and they just need to get into a better position. The other heroes then came in to help fight them. A few moments later, Omega tripped over some fallen Androids and was taken down by the horde. Rouge then asked Shadow to use his Chaos powers, but Shadow said he can't without a Chaos Emerald. After an explanation from Tails, Shadow used the Giant Fake Chaos Emeralds in the city to perform Chaos Control and took out nearly all the Shadow Androids. Before he can perform it again, Giant Fake Emeralds start to grow all around them. Rouge asks what's happening and Shadow says the energy is too much. He then let out a beacon of energy and Rouge is forced to abandon her two teammates with Sonic and co. Once they got out of there, Rouge was concerned for their safety, but Sonic assured her that they are tough. Rouge relaxes and compliments Sonic's chipper attitude.

While the group planned their next move, Rouge told them their best chance at beating Eggman was to save Omega and Shadow. The group decided to send Rouge, Blaze, and Silver to rescue them while the others went to the central tower. Rouge found Omega trapped under some rubble, but before they could do anything the ground collapsed under them and they fell into the Memorial Garage. Rouge then found Shadow trapped by several Giant Fake Chaos Emeralds. She flew over to get him out, but some Shadow Androids blocked her way. The group fought them and once Omega made an opening, the other three went to Shadow. The Chaos energy was too powerful for Rouge and Blaze to get close. After Shadow was freed and regained control over the Emeralds, Shadow made a giant tower of them with him and his rescuers on it. They saw Metal Sonic fighting Sonic in the air and Omega quickly began firing at Metal with Blaze joining him. Rouge reluctantly helped out and brought Sonic to the ground. Once Sonic and Shadow destroyed the tower, Silver got close to Rouge and the others and protected them as Shadow used Chaos Control to send all the Emeralds far into the sky, where they exploded. Later, Rouge joined the other heroes at a picnic and brought a Gold Statue she found in Eggman's trophy room. Amy caught sight of it and told Rouge it needs to be returned to Angel Island. Rouge made an excuse not to, saying it was too heavy. Amy said she would return it for her and Rouge gave it to her. She told Amy to tell Knuckles he owed her one.

Sonic's 900th Adventure:

Rouge was contacted by Tails to help Sonic with the Warp Topaz. She went to an abandoned mine with Shadow and they caught Sonic in the deepest part of the mine. Rouge told Sonic he was there to help save the world so she could keep hunting gems. When the Babylon Rogues arrived, Shadow tried to make Sonic give the topaz to him, much to Rouge's disappointment. Rouge watched as Shadow blasted the Rogues into a portal Sonic left behind from the topaz.

Winter Jam:

Rouge was relaxing with Omega and some of Sonic's friends in Green Hill, when a Giant Chopper ambushed them, swallowed them, and took them to an unknown location. They were let free in a TV set and Cubot announced to them that they were in Orbot and Cubot's "Winter Jam". Orbot revealed that the prize for winning was a purple Chaos Emerald, but only one team can have it. Rouge considered taking it right then and there, but they were quickly split into teams, with Rouge and Omega teaming up. The first game was to create a scenery related to the holidays. Rouge told Omega to make a distraction as she made a break for the Emerald. Omega made some wreaths, but then target locked to all of them. Just as Rouge was about to get the Emerald, Omega blew up their set and she fell in a pile of ruble. In a post-game interview, Rouge admitted it wasn't smart to trust Omega with a crafting challenge.

The next game was "Snowball Jam", where teams had to carry an Eggman Doll to the finish line safely, while avoiding snowballs from the other teams trying to destroy it. Rouge threw some snow balls, but mostly stood by as Omega snowed down the competition, leading them to win. In the next interview, Rouge told Omega her judgement was "optimal" that time. The contestants went through several more games before they came to "Sculpt Jam", where the teams had to make ice sculptures. Team Dark could barely start their sculpture when Froggy used laser eyes to make a statue of Eggman. It was then revealed by Cubot that "Froggy" was actually a Badnik; the real Froggy escaped the Giant Chopper. Omega went into a frenzy and destroyed the arena, while Rouge stole the Chaos Emerald. The commotion caused Eggman to arrive at the scene and Cubot pressed a button that sent Sonic's friends out of arena and back to Green Hill. Artificial snow rained down on Green Hill and the lights that landed from the set on the hills. Rouge said that was one of the most annoying ways to get a Chaos Emerald, but Amy said it was worth it. Rouge admired her Emerald as everyone else went back to relaxing and playing.

Scattered Pieces:

In the Rainstorm Forest, the Interceptor comes out to attack again when suddenly Shadow appears and takes the badnik down. Rouge also appears and greets Sonic, Tails, Espio, Vector and Charmy, when Vector asks her what she is doing there. She responds that she was hired to look for intel of Clean Sweep Inc. after its' crimes were exposed during the Clean Sweepstakes event, which Vector comments the Chaotix should've been contacted to do so. Sonic then asks where Omega is, and Rouge responds she needed a precision touch, which is hard with a destructive machine like Omega. While Vector once again claims the Chaotix can handle the situation, Shadow suddenly notices something and orders for everyone to be quiet.

After a minute of silence, three more Interceptors appear from the trees. Realizing these are all the forces and the interior might be clear, Rouge flies to the operational Clean Sweep facility to look for the intel; Espio, by Vector's command, goes after her to do the same. Upon entering the facility, Espio is suddenly stopped by Rouge, who points out to security camera's on the hall. So Espio turns invisible to pass, but the cameras notice his wet footsteps, so he shots them down with his shuriken stars. Espio and Rouge head to the locket door that leads to the control room, so Rouge uses one of her heart bombs to open it. Entering the control room, Rouge puts her two flash drives into the computer to download the intel and, by Espio's insistence, puts on the Chaotix' flash drive as well. While Rouge downloads the intel into the flash drives, Espio checks on the others from another computer.

Espio sees on the computer that more defensive super badniks are coming online, but there is no one giving them orders, meaning the facility is fully automated and Clutch was telling the truth. Rouge then discovers that the database of facilities doesn't remotely match what's publicly listed. The intel is finally downloaded, so Rouge gives Espio his flash drive, with asking if all the intel is on it. She asks in a teasing way who he thinks she is and Espio responds a tricky devious spy, which she responds in a teasing and flirting way. Rouge then says the only thing she couldn't find was an override, so she can't get the defense systems to shut off; then Espio, as technique, smashes the computer's keyboard, which actually manages to put the Interceptor offline, shutting them down. Rouge is impressed by Espio's techinique and runs her finger on his chin, saying she will keep this in mind for the future, leaving him stunned and confused. She then tells him they should before the others think they've been alone together for too long.

Soon everyone meets up at the entrance of the facility. While Clutch's confessions about the Clean Sweep's state are shown to be true, the Interceptor ambush seemed to have been planned, which rises suspicions on Vector; Sonic claims Clutch is a creep and believes he could've set this ambush for anyone who came too close, Vector believes this might be true and decided to consider the case ongoing for now. Rouge claims the boys will have many opportunites to investigate, as she downloaded a copy of all the Clean Sweep facilities to their flash drive, and to hers as well. Upon hearing this, Shadow snatches Rouge's flash drive from her hand and puts it on his device. Shadow decides to use this intel to track down each Clean Sweep facility and neutralize them. Vector, once again, remarks how the Chaotix are experts in investigation and offer to help, and Sonic offers too as a fun run to smash bots, but Shadow declines, much to the Chaotix's disappointment. Shadow then tells Rouge he will keep her up to date before teleporting off. Rouge is annoyed by his behavior, commenting this is why she had a backup flash drive. Exhausted from everything that's happened, Vector tells the boys it's time to go. He thanks Sonic for his help and apologizes for getting on his case earlier, which the latter jokily if that's not what they do. Vector then asks Sonic to let them know if he comes across anything, then Rouge asks if they don't want her help as well. An annoyed Vector asks how much it would cost, which she replies that if they have to ask first, they can't afford it.

As the Chaotix leave, Rouge is about to leave as well but Sonic stops her. He tells her about the Chaos Emerald that disappeared from Tails' Lab, asking if she could provide some "professional insight". While slightly offended by being accused, Rouge responds that she was safe-keeping a Chaos Emerald of her own, but it suddenly vanished just like Tails'; she has been looking for it but has no leads. Rouge then suggests for the two to tell each other if they find anything, when Sonic asks her if she return any emeralds found back to where they came from, she just runs her finger on his chin and says they will see how it goes before departing as well.

The Stage is Set:

Shadow along with Rouge head to the Grand Carnival in the city of Sequin, Rouge in formal wear, Shadow unapologetically not. Tails and Rouge trade stories about how their respective emeralds were stolen from them, and their shared plan to monitor the one on display. Sonic asks Shadow if he's here for the emerald too, while Shadow admits he is not, nor is he there for the party. They lie in wait among costumed crowds donning masks and formal wear, while utilizing colorful masks themselves. The quartet is then interrupted by the announcement of the Celestial Troupe, acrobatic artists that have an act to entertain the guests. A protective shield is placed around the emerald during the performance, though Rouge still comments it would make a great distraction. During the next part of the Troupe's traipsing act, smoke erupts, the performance goes awry, and someone emerges from the fray with the emerald. The costumed figure quickly introduces as Lunar, Master thief, and hightails away with the emerald, expertly maneuvering through the security. it's clear she wants to be the one claiming the emerald, as she pushes a table into Sonic and Tails to slow them down.

As the four race for Lunar, Tails voices concern that if they weren't careful, all of them could cause damage in the chase, especially Shadow. Sonic is in the middle of thinking when Rouge throws a handful of bombs to slow the boys down. Temporarily blinded, Sonic slips from Tails' grip though he quickly maneuvers onto a nearby hot-air-balloon-like device. Sonic prompts Tails to take care of Rouge while he would handle Shadow. The hedgehog then proceeds to taunt Shadow with comments of speed and relying on Rouge, trying to bait him away. While Shadow does not fall for it, he takes up Sonic when he exclaims the only way he was getting the emerald was through him. The two speed away while Tails confronts Rouge. The two speed away while Tails confronts Rouge. The bat flings another barrage of bombs at the fox, but this time, Tails catches them in wad of cloth and flings them back at Rouge. She falls into a stall of popcorn while Tails laughs and races off to find Sonic.

Soon, with Lunar nowhere to be seen. Miffed about being played, Shadow storms off with Rouge in tow, asking what was wrong. Later on, Rouge tries relying on her treasure hunter's intuition, believes the situation will resolve itself and suggests waiting in a café, much to Shadow's impatient frustration. He storms off to "make his own luck," while Rouge calmly enjoys a croissant. Soon, while Shadow ambushed Sonic, Apogee and Perigee, Rouge attacked Soleil with a surprise and got the emerald. Shadow agreed that the emerald is safer with her than in Sonic's hands. So, Rouge and Shadow got hold of the emerald and Soleil's back with their family. Rouge and the others watch as the arrival of Dr. Eggman and his Egg Juggler which causes them to move to higher ground quickly as the water starts to rise. Shortly, Shadow asked Rouge for the emerald and after Rouge hesitated a bit, she gave him the emerald and in return ask him to take her out to the best cafe in town. The Egg Juggler falls while holding on to a pillar Shadow, Rouge and the rest of the Celestial Troupe are on. They run immediately with Rouge saying how she will follow Shadow's lead with the Celestial Troupe behind them.

Suddenly a Bell hits Rouge causing her to fall but is caught by Shadow to Rouge's surprise to Shadow saving her, but he responds saying it's the perfect opportunity to use Chaos Control but is interrupted after being hit by Eggman causing Eggman to get the emerald and use it to power his robot. Eggman then hits all the heroes and saying how the power is at 110% percent while generating chainsaws. Meanwhile Rouge would use a Badnik as a router while Tails used his Miles Electric to short out his energy circuits until Eggman locks Tails out which cause the Badnik by Rouge to nearly hit her again. Soon after the Egg Juggler is destroyed and Eggman flees with Rouge leaves telling Sonic to let her know when "her" emerald is found.

Earth is similar to the normal earth but with many differences such as the continents being different shapes with many continents similar to the real world with places. Such as The United Federation (United States) and its cities such as: Central City the capital, Westopolis, Emerald Town, Station Square, Empire City (New York), Mystic Ruins and many more in its territory. Other countries include Atopos (Greece), Mazuri (Mali), Adabat (Thailand), Shamar (Jordan), Spagonia (San Marino), Chun-Nan (China), Holoska (Alaska, in the ice lands), Soleanna (Italy) and many more. Most of if not all these places are home to humans with Mobians not residing much in these cities, though there are outlines of this with Mobians and Humans interacting many times.

Dr. Ivo Robotnik or Eggman (coined by Sonic) born from one of the sons of Gerald Robotnik and cousin of Maria Robotnik looking for conquest started a plan to take over the world searching for the Chaos Emeralds and capturing animals putting them inside machines to power them useing them for planet wide take over, but was stopped by Sonic The Hedgehog. Sonic the so-called fastest thing alive, a blue hedgehog with extreme speed, but not deterred Robonik went on to Little Planet, nearby was Amy Rose nicknamed Rosie the Rascal saw Sonic and immediately fell head over heels for Sonic chasing after them in love. But on Little Planet Rosie was kidnapped by Metal Sonic a fake robotic Sonic, with that Sonic went through Little Planet using its time powers to go back into the past to destroy Eggman's attempts of taking over the future by influencing the past. Rescuing Amy, Sonic went after Eggman reaching Westside Island where he came across Miles Prowler nicknamed Tails due to a birth defect that made him have two tails, showing tails to be strong and to use his two tails like a helicopter propeller to fly the two joined together to take on Eggman. After another defeat, Eggman went to Angel Island, where his Death Egg project will come to fruition, Eggman would meet Knuckles the last Echidna and trick him into fighting Sonic, but after telling Knuckles he was tricked Eggman snatched the master emerald with this the three join forces to take out Eggman with Sonic using 7 emeralds to turn into Super Sonic finally taking down Eggman.

Eventually, Eggman will discover a secret Emerald like stone called the Phantom Ruby, a tone that can alter reality, with friends by his size Sonic went after Eggman and his Badnik squad altered by the Phantom Ruby, eventually stopping him the Ruby was sent through time into the future which Sonic went after. After helping his future self, Sonic returns to his time with the Ruby now floating off, coming across other friends Mighty The Armadillo and Ray the flying Squirrel who help him and soon defeat Eggman. Eventually, Eggman would hire Fang the Hunter a Mobian jerboa to help him on the North Star Islands to use hidden powers to his advantage eventually tricking the native Trip the Sungazer to help out, eventually Sonic and friends find out with them helping Trip leave and defeat Eggman and Fang. Eggman would rebuild Metal Sonic and have another try at Little Planet, only to be defeated by Sonic and Tails.

Knuckles would be resting on Angel Island when the Master Emerald would suddenly shatter into pieces with Chaos the god of destruction becoming free, Tikal how was also sealed inside becomes free as well and tries to help Sonic and friends take on Chaos. Meanwhile, Big the cat and his best friend Froggy rest in his shack in the lake when suddenly Froggy swallows a Chaos Emerald running off, Sonic would fight Chaos who suddenly appears in his 0 form, finidng Tails they go after Eggman. Eggman gives Chaos a Chaos emerald changing his form and start to go after the emeralds before he can, meanwhile Knuckles goes after master Emerald shards to fix the Master Emerald, fighting Chaos enhanced by Eggman again. While Big chases Froggy Eggman activates Gamma, a machine he made to find Froggy and get the Chaos Emerald inside, Amy Rose finds a bird which has a Chaos Emerald and is chased by Zero a machine made by Eggman. Gamma takes Froggy from Big to Eggman, Sonic realizing Amy is being chased goes after her to save her soon watching her being taken to Eggman's Flying Carrier, Tails finds the Emerald from Froggy and takes it. Inside the Carrier Gamma attempts to convince Amy to give him the bird only to suddenly have images flash, without knowing why, Gamma releases Amy telling her to leave. Sonic and tails enter the Carrier to save Amy soon fighting Gamma, going for the final blow Sonic tries to destroy Gamma, but Amy stops him, with that they all leave with Gamma going on a mission to destroy the other machines in his series to free the animals inside. Sonic faces Chaos 6 which has Froggy in its body to take back its tail from it, Big saves Froggy and Sonic destroys Chaos, Knuckles gathers all the Emerald shards and fixes the Master Emerald, and Tails takes down Eggman stopping him from destroying Station Square. Sonic takes down Eggman for one last time and Gamma destroys the last of the robots soon destroying himself to save the Bird inside him, Amy destroys Zero and frees the bird inside with the one from Gamma and that had the Emerald joining back together as a family. During all of this the group see images of the past with Sonic fully learning the whole truth, Chaos attacks getting the final Emerald and went to Station Square becoming Perfect Chaos to destroy the world, Tikal reveals herself fully and tells Sonic that while Chaos Absorbed the emeralds' energy he can still use them. With that Sonic turns into Super Sonic taking down Chaos in the flooded city, with Chaos calmed down Tikal takes him back to the Master Emerald, this time as friends.

Eggman breaks into the Prison Island to find a so called 'ultimate lifeform' left by his grandfather Gerald, soon he finds Shadow the Hedgehog who says he will help Eggman and tells him to meet in the space colony Ark, meanwhile Shadow causes chaos in the city stealing Chaos Emerald with many mistaking him as Sonic. Sonic is captured and breaks out for a while to learn of Shadow as the two meet up only to be captured again, Eggman goes to the Ark and Shadow tells him of the Eclipse Cannon which will activate with all 7 Emeralds. Meanwhile, Knuckles encounters Rouge the Bat secret government agent part-time Treasure hunter who wants to steal the Master Emerald, while the two are arguing Eggman takes it. Acting quickly, Knuckles smashes the Master Emerald and hunts for its pieces, with Rouge doing the same to take the Emerald for herself, Eggman enlists Rouge and goes to Prison Island with Shadow, at the same time Amy Rose shows up mistaking Shadow for Sonic, Tails appears wanting to break out Sonic and fights Eggman to save Amy. Amy frees sonic and the 3 leave the island, Rouge takes the Chaos Emeralds as Eggman plants bombs on the island to blow it up, Sonic finds Shadow and the two fight upon hearing 5 minutes are left they run, Rouge is trapped and Shadow has flashes of Maria and runs in to save her. The island explodes and Eggman announces he will destroy the world with the Eclipse cannon is they don't comply, demonstrating his power by destroying half the moon, with emerald shards in hand Knuckles groups up with the rest, Sonic and friends find a rocket in an Eggman base and head to the Ark meanwhile Rouge starts her secret mission issued by the G.U.N Military, after that she guns for the last shard fighting Knuckles, she hands over the emeralds putting them on friendlier terms. Sonic aims to give a fake emerald to Eggman made by Tails to kill the Eclipse Cannon but seeing through the act Eggman shoots Sonic into space with an exploding pod, but Sonic uses Chaos Control to teleport to Knuckles, surprised to see him survive Shadow and Sonic race to beat the other, Tails goes to take out Eggman while still thinking Sonic is dead. Both winning the day is saved, but Eggman takes the real emerald and puts it into the cannon but instead of activating the Eclipse Cannon it activates a message from Gerald that's broadcasted to the world expressing his hate and telling that the Ark will crash into the earth killing all life before his execution. Sonic, Rouge, Eggman and others quickly work to stop it with Shadow not caring about the death of the world thinking it's just, after a conversation with Amy Shadow remembers his true memories where Maria asked him not to hate the world and to protect it, realizing this he quickly acts going to the core of the Ark. There Shadow fights the Biolizard the prototype ultimate lifeform before he was made a now giant mutated beast, Knuckles runs up to the core and uses the Master Emerald to stop the Ark but the Biolizard attaches itself to the front to crash the Ark, both Sonic and Shadow go super and use chaos control together to teleport the ark back into orbit saving the world. Weakened Shadow falls into the atmosphere crashing into the earth, everyone mourns Shadow and thank him for his sacrifice when in reality Shadow survives the crash and lives later found by Eggman

Sonic and friends meet Cream a friend of Amy whose mother, Vanilla, was taken by Eggman, Cream the young rabbit Mobian go after Eggman with Sonic and friends soon saving her and stopping Eggman. Metal Sonic is eventually remade with new power and betrays Eggman, with this he steals Cocola a Chao friend of Amy and Cream, pretending to be by Eggman making them and Big the cat chase after Eggman, sends a letter to Sonic as Eggman making him Knuckles and Tails go after Eggman. Meanwhile, Rouge the Bat enters an Eggman base to find a hidden treasure surprised to find Shadow who was thought to be dead, at the same time attacked by the abandoned Eggman robot E-123 Omega who hates Eggman for leaving him in storage and wants to kill Eggman and his machines, Rouge stops the fight and learns Shadow has no memories and has the three go after Eggman. Meanwhile, the real Eggman is captured and hidden by Metal Sonic, sending out a message to Team Chaotix a detective group and friends of Knuckles, including Vector the Gator, Charmy Bee and Espio the Chameleon, the three receive an anonymous call from Eggman telling them to save him for pay, making Vector quickly want to help. Eventually every team encounters Eggman, which was actually Metal Sonic scanning their battle data to mimic it for himself, eventually Team Chaotix find the real Eggman realizes the truth and get the rest to encounter Neo Metal Sonic who turns into a giant monster machine called Metal Overload. With the Chaos Emeralds, the teams fight Metal Overload with team Sonic going super, finally defeating him. Later on, Shadow would see Westcity attacked by The Black Arms and is approached by Black Doom who tells Shadow of the 'promised time' realizing Black Doom knows him he follows to find his memories, after finding Android replicas of him making him think his a machine he eventually realizes he is the real Shadow the Hedgehog and goes after Black Doom. He makes peace with Abraham Towers the current G.U.N military commander and was on the Ark and good friends with Maria, believing Shadow was the reason she died, finding Black Doom in the Black Comet Shadow tries to fight him but is frozen in time with Chaos Control, but Vector playing a message from Gerald telling Shadow how to stop Black Doom and that he was like a son to him allowed him toe break free. With that Shadow goes super with the Chaos Emeralds to finishes Black Doom and sends the comet into space destroying it with the Arks Eclipse cannon, after this Shadow allows himself to move on beyond the past.

Eggman finds the Gizoid left by Gerald and attempts to bring it back online with a chaos emerald when it doesn't listen to him, he tosses it out landing in Emerald Town where Sonic finds it and names it Emerl. Seeing Sonic's power Emerl starts to listen to Sonic, Shadow appears trying to destroy Emerl but is stopped, Eggman tries to get Emerl with machines and fake Emerls, Rouge was hired by the president of the United Federation to find out about the Gizoid and convinces Sonic to leave it with her after learning about it in an Eggman Computer, slowly the groups including Amy and Cream feed Chaos emeralds which they fix after their shattering to Emerl who grows smarter. Amy has it around with her with Emerl calling her mom, eventually Shadow confronts the Gizoid and tells it the history and how it attacked the Ark, but Rouge learns that Gerald Robotnik changed the Gizoid and when giving him the final emerald Emerl was about to go berserk but says a secret code that allows Emerl to be his own person. While Emerl and Shadow make up, Eggman brings Emerl to his space station where he shows the power of his destroyer beam, this makes Emerl go berserk fighting Eggman and forcing Sonic to destroy him, Emerl dies giving his final thanks and thanks everyone for the life he had. After Emerl was destroyed, Eggman made a replica called Gemerl Sonic and friends with Cream take on Eggman and Gemerl but when combined with the Chaos Emeralds goes berserk with Eggman forced to work with Sonic to stop him, after this Tails fixes Gemerl giving him to Cream and Vanilla acting as a new friend.

200 years in the future, the work is burned in an eternal fire burns across the land Sliver the Hedgehog and Blaze the Cat try to take down Iblis, a monster of fire that causes the fires to burn with it always returning after its destruction. The two are suddenly encountered by a dark copy of Shadow the Hedgehog who calls himself Mephiles, he tells that the Apocalypse was caused by Sonic the Hedgehog the 'Iblis Trigger' and tells him to kill Sonic, sending the two into the past 200 years into the past. Shadow the Hedgehog initiates an Eggman base and finds an artifact with the help of Rouge finding the Scepter of dark breaking it releasing Mephiles the Dark who copies Shadow's form, sending them into the distant future. Eggman attacks Solenna too while they are celebrating the Festival of the sun to honor the god of light Solaris, Eggman aims to take the princess Elise the third for her Chaos Emerald and her secrets of the Flames of Disaster. Sonic cuts in saving her, but Eggman catches up to take her, with Elise throwing her Chaos Emerald to Sonic. Sonic then takes Elise back, learning more about the Flames of Disaster, but then is attacked by Silver the Hedgehog, who calls Sonic the Ibls Trigger and tries to kill him. Eggman takes Elise and Amy intervene with Silver stopping his attack on Sonic. Sonic, Tails and Knuckles case after Eggman who says he will release Elise if they hand over the Emerald, tricking them Eggman sends them 200 years into the future where they stand in a burning desolate city known as Crisis City, they find Shadow and Rouge tell them they need Chaos control to go back into time. Going around to find Silver and Blaze the cat talking to Mephiles the Dark, finding a computer Tails finds out Elise dies in an explosion causing the Apocalypse, Sonic and Shadow regroup who found a Chaos Emerald in a destroyed Omega and find Iblis, after destroying the go back to the present and chase after Elise on a train saving her.
