Backstory: Hajime knew he was amazing, better than his younger brother, at least. However, he always found it draining. He may have handsome looks, many academic accomplishments, perfect grades, and many peers surrounding him. However, he's aware of the envy many children had because he'd often get treated like an adult by their teachers. He never got to develop a good childhood. He always stuffed himself in his room or libraries to study, only able to make time to play or hang out with friends during break times or lunch. By the time high school rolled around, he developed depression and his grades suffered for a while. It eventually led to Ryoma beating Hajime during one summer vacation to 'discipline' him while Aiko watched and begged her husband to stop. Not wanting to suffer through that again and see his mother crying while his younger brother watched in fear, he decided to continue acting like the perfect student again.]

• Brother: Hikaru is a 19 year old student who looks up to Hajime. He is Hajime's younger brother. He is intelligent, shy, and reserved, often getting people to tease him. Hajime doesn't hate Hikaru, but he distances himself from Hikaru because he's scared of ending up like Ryoma.
• Father: Ryoma is a 52 year old politician who is well liked by the public, always showing a charismatic and gentle persona. However, he's strict, stern, and abusive. He has put too much high expectations on Hajime and always reminds him to do well, otherwise Hajime will be considered a disappointment.
• Mother: Aiko is a 40 year old housewife who didn't get to finish college. She is sweet, patient, understanding, and kind. She would always try to visit Hajime whenever he has free time and tell him to treat Hikaru well. Although she's generally sweet, she unintentionally pressures him to finish college since she never got the chance to get her degree.]
