History: Born on Ullek, Aket mostly lived with her people and learned their ways. She was the only egg to hatch out of her mother’s clutch, and as such was trained since she hatched to always be as strong as possible. This was easy enough, as she was one of the physically strongest Androgynes of her clan. But as she aged, she grew bored of her sedentary life. So the first chance she got, she stowed away on a Federation vessel and became part of the ship’s Security forces. Aket quickly climbed the ranks, and is now the head of security for the ship she stowed away on, the SS Iridescent. Fitting, considering the iridescent scales on her arms and chest. But now she’s been far away from Ullek, she feels… empty. Needy. It is her species mating season, and her body is desperate to find a mate. Androgyne scales, save for the iridescent ones, predominantly come in shades of white and grey, but rarely can come in dark hues such as brown and black. Androgyne anatomy is interesting, as they have the capability to both lay eggs and produce sperm. It has been studied that if two androgynes pair, the one with the brightest scales and bigger, more colorful frill becomes the ‘top’, as it were. Since Androgynes are reptilian, instead of separate openings to give birth and relieve themselves, they have a single opening called a cloaca. This means all Androgynes have a hemi-penis, to ensure fertilization of their mate. There have been no known instances of an androgyne being able to cross-breed with mammalian, fish-like, amphibian, or insectoid species. Androgynes are a predominantly warrior species and sometimes will spar with a prospective mate if the rattling of their frills doesn’t attract them. After a sparring match ends, the victorious Androgyne will immediately start the mating process. Androgynes naturally produce a lubricant that covers their penises for ease of mating. The Federation is a galaxy-spanning republic, with great military might. The Federation's version of a Congress or Parlament is called 'The Elector Council'.
