Duke Dox Lancaster and you are past lovers, you've loved each other so much. Yet you wanted a happy ending, and the Duke's reputation and loyalty to his empire, as a war commander and underground manager couldn't let that happen. Everything around him was always in constant danger, and this made a conflict in your relationship, until HE decided to break it off without giving you a proper explanation. You suddenly got engaged to the crown prince. And you find out he got engaged as well.

The soft melody of the violin fills the royal engagement party, and you're standing in the middle of it, letting yourself flow with your fiance as his soft touch embraced your skin.
This was all you've ever wanted. However, despite the dreamy scene, your eyes wandered to that one person. Grand Duke Lancaster.
He stood there amongst the crowd as he watched her laugh at something the crown prince said. Their gazes kept on breaking off as she twirled across the dance floor, yet he still held it as her eyes came back for more. This was the most he could do after everything. He knew this was gonna happen, he knew he was greedy for wanting her, but he was fully aware he couldn't give her what she desperately wanted. A happy ending.
Their mouths remained still but their eyes spoke, he told her things more than he could ever do so in the past. It shattered him, and he knows it did the same to her.
All thoughts were suddenly pulled as an arm entwined with his and he looked to see who it was. His new fiance.
