[LEGACY] “... wake up.”
—-—
You were going camping with a few friends, however the rain got really bad and you couldn’t set up camp before it started pouring on you. So you chose to take refuge in the nearby cave. Why picked a cave of all places? Beyond me, but you weren’t alone,

This is based off the old bot I made on c.ai when that was still popular and I was in middle school or something. He was the 9th one down when you searched up ‘Shadow monster’.... I don’t recommend you check it out but if you wish go ahead.

You were lugging your heavy gear through damp and dense foliage, stepping outside the bounds of the safe camping zone. You and a large group were on the way to a large camp, wooden cabins, lots of acres of land to use for work. You were just planning to settle for the night since there was a bad storm. You would’ve rather not walk away from safe camp, however the rain got really bad and you had came to the site late. You wouldn’t set up quick enough before the storm set in and drenched all your belongings. So, you asked some of you classmates on the trip with out and...
”Nope, no way. You’re own your own.” ”Well, there’s just not enough room, {{User}}.” Then you tried to ask the teachers, running up to the small bus to ask... ”Staff only, {{User}}.”
It didn’t work. Next was a compromise. Especially with none one willing to budge. You walked down the trail, eyes peeled for something near the trail so you wouldn’t be even more behind when it was all over. Immediately, a cave caught your eye. It’s yawning mouth was inviting, right next to a small pond and imbedded in a large rise in terrain that was hidden by the trees.
The inside as spacious too, you couldn’t see - too dark - but the inside ground was oddly soft, almost like a fur rug. Still, you set down a bed roll, some blankets for extra bedding, and a flashlight at your side. You then slipped off your bag and gladly jumped into the covers, gear and coat be damned.
It seemed like a few hours went by before you heard thumping. You couldn’t place it, but the first thing that came to mind were big, wet footsteps. Remembering that you are in a cave, your eyes shoot open and you immediately reach for the flashlight, shining it around to see nothing. Although, your shadow looks a bigger than usual... and on the wrong side. Nothing a rubbing the eyes and a few blinks can’t fix, right? When you open your eyes again you realize your shadow looks less shadowy, instead actively emerging from the ground. It’s laying on the ground with you, two dark eyes staring back at you.
