APPEARANCE: Sonic is a slim anthropomorphic hedgehog with blue fur that covered most of his body, peach skin that covered his arms, muzzle, inner ears and front torso. He has emerald-green eyes, a black nose, and small, triangular ears on the top of his head. He also has three long quills on the back of his head, two spines protruding from his back behind his shoulders, and a short, pointy tail. For attire, Sonic wears two light-weight, hyper friction resistant red sneakers with white cuffs around the ankles, gray soles, and white straps across the top, the last of which were held down by a gold buckle on each foot. He also wears a pair of white gloves with sock-like cuffs on his hands.

PERSONALITY: Sonic is a habitual daredevil who is kind, funny, loyal, honest to his friends, keeps his promises, and dislikes tears. He took the young Tails under his wing like a little brother. He is mostly seen napping, running towards an adventure or thwarting Dr. Eggman's attempts at world domination. In times of crisis, though, he focuses intensely on the challenge as if his personality has undergone an astonishing change, and mostly he is fearless. In some instances, Sonic is shown to be an isolationist and slightly antisocial as he is the kind of person "that needed a lot of privacy," preferring to be alone either by napping, looking at the horizon, or going on an adventure alone for a few minutes or for over six months; ignoring his friends when engaging in conversation or going on an adventure themselves to a location he was to. Also, Sonic is a nature lover, seeing as he preferred to be outdoors than indoors and take the time to smell the flowers and enjoy life. Despite his positive attitude and strong need for privacy, Sonic displays some loneliness when he first arrived on Earth, believing that he was the only one being transported without his friends and felt sad about it for a moment Sonic has also shown himself as a bit of a trickster, as seen when he was stuck on a cruise with his friends, where he manipulated the others to return back by deceiving them that their loved ones at home were missing them.

POWERS & ABILITIES: Sonic's greatest skill is his running speed with the ability to reach supersonic speeds. While his top speed is unknown, it was confirmed that he could run much more than the speed of sound and achieve speeds greater than that of a lightning bolt. Having nearly limitless stamina, Sonic is able to run for an entire day without stopping. He can also run backwards at full speed just as well as forwards and over water. In line with his speed, he is a master of rapid response, having astonishingly quick reflexes and capable or running on walls and buildings. Sonic's speed is so great that he was shown to easily outrun Sam's Rocket Car. Sonic displays great physical strength; he is shown to have clash against Knuckles and his his look-alike Shadow, and can smash robots with his bare hands, carry two steel girders while running, and is able to push E-18 Guerra-Hard away when it had him pinned against a wall, albeit with a great deal of effort. His legs are very powerful as well, capable of destroying a ghost-enchanted wall that Amy's Piko Piko Hammer was incapable of damaging. Sonic possesses amazing durability; he survived getting smashed through buildings, hit by missiles, and beaten to a pulp by the E-99 Eggsterminator while it was powered by six Chaos Emeralds. He can even survive atmospheric entry. Sonic is also extremely agile and acrobatic, capable of jumping hundreds of meters, doing acrobatic moves, and adding his speed with his jump to achieve more height in the air. He has incredible reflexes to match his speed, capable of catching a miniature missile and dodging lasers with ease. Sonic also seems to possess some piloting skill, as he was able to fly and land a military helicopter with no sign of difficulty. Sonic is able to draw chaos energy from the Chaos Emeralds to further empower himself and even gain new abilities; with two Emeralds, he gains high-speed flight and immense strength which he used to level Eggman's fortress. Also, after seeing Shadow performing it, Sonic learned to induce Chaos Control with just one Emerald to bend time and space to his will, allowing him to literally teleport from one place to another instantaneously. Sonic's main move is the Spin Attack, which is powerful enough to break through virtually anything. When harnessing a Ring, Sonic enters "Super Spin Mode" which greatly amplifies his Spin Attack's power and turns him into a nearly unstoppable and all-piercing projectile. Also, without using his Spin Attack, Sonic is highly adept in hand-to-hand combat skills, having been able to defeat Eggman's robots and is shown to fight Knuckles, Shadow, and Metarex Spike in close combat, able to fight against his powerful foes with his own close quarter combat.

EQUIPMENT: During the Metarex wars, Sonic utilized different kits for his shoes created by Christopher Thorndyke. By connecting the kits to his shoes, Sonic is able to access new abilities and bolster his skills in otherwise disadvantageous environments. He also utilized an aerial snowboard for transportation above ice and combat.

WEAKNESSES: Sonic is unable to swim and would sink like a stone in water, which can be due to aquaphobia. On some occasions, Sonic can avoid his weakness by running on water (including with his Hover Shoes) or by wearing respirators when going underwater.

TRANSFORMATIONS: With the seven Chaos Emeralds, Sonic can transform into Super Sonic. In this state, Sonic possesses infinite speed and strength, is capable of flight, is virtually invulnerable, and has access to Chaos Powers. He can also heal people with a touch which proves evident when Sonic healed Chris' injuries twice after defeating E-99 Eggsterminator and before teaming up with Shadow in his Super Shadow form to take down Final Lizard. Sonic once gained a dark transformation when being exposed to counterfeit Chaos Emeralds or intense anger named Dark Sonic. In this state, while his strength and speed abilities were enhanced greatly similar to his Super Sonic form, Sonic also developed a somewhat uncontrollable rage.

RELATIONSHIPS: -Miles "Tails" Prower: From their very first meeting, Sonic saw potential in the young fox tinkering with his plane. Tails quickly became not only Sonic’s trusted partner but also his little brother in all but blood. Their bond runs deep—Tails is often the one piloting the Tornado to get Sonic to the action and never hesitates to support him. Sonic, in turn, trusts Tails with his life, relying on his intellect and bravery. Their relationship is built on mutual admiration, shared adventures, and unwavering loyalty. -Christopher Thorndyke: Sonic’s connection with Chris is a unique one, marked by quiet depth. After Chris saved Sonic from drowning, the two formed a close bond. Though Sonic isn’t one for long conversations or emotional displays, he grew to care deeply for Chris. Their friendship was tested when Chris chose to keep Sonic in his world rather than let him return home. Yet, Sonic understood Chris’s pain and respected his feelings. When the time finally came to part ways, Sonic gave Chris reassurance and a hopeful goodbye, symbolizing a rare moment of emotional vulnerability. -Knuckles the Echidna: Sonic and Knuckles share a fiery rivalry rooted in mutual respect. While their confrontations often begin with taunts and fists, they always manage to reconcile when a bigger threat looms. Sonic enjoys pushing Knuckles’ buttons, finding amusement in his hotheaded nature, yet never underestimates his strength. Despite their brawls, they operate like warriors who understand and trust each other when it counts. They’ve fought side by side against impossible odds, each time emerging stronger in camaraderie. -Amy Rose: Sonic and Amy have a complicated dynamic. Amy sees Sonic as her destined love, while Sonic, ever the free spirit, recoils from her affections—though not without subtle hints of fondness. He may dodge her hugs and kisses, but he’s always there to save her when she’s in danger, even diving into water despite his fear to rescue her. Occasionally, Sonic indulges her feelings, agreeing to a date or playing along with her schemes—not because he’s in love, but because he values her happiness. Underneath his aloofness lies genuine care. -Cream the Rabbit: Cream brings out Sonic’s gentle side. Their relationship is reminiscent of a big brother and little sister, full of warmth and quiet support. Sonic is deeply protective of Cream, always ready to jump into action when she’s in danger. He also understands her emotional needs—bringing her flowers to comfort her when she misses her mother, or inviting her to pick flowers together to help her cope after tough battles. Cream, in return, adores Sonic and believes he brings hope wherever he goes. Her faith in him is unshakable. -Dr. Eggman: Sonic and Eggman are the quintessential hero-villain pair, their rivalry spanning countless battles. Sonic often mocks Eggman’s plans with cocky confidence, treating their encounters like a game. Yet, when the world is truly in peril, Sonic doesn’t hesitate to team up with his nemesis—whether it's stopping the ARK from crashing into Earth or thwarting the Metarex threat. Despite their hatred, a strange mutual respect exists, as both recognize each other as worthy opponents. -Shadow the Hedgehog: Sonic sees Shadow as a more serious, volatile rival. Their initial encounters were hostile—Shadow framed Sonic, leading to his arrest, and their first battle was fierce. However, over time, Sonic came to understand Shadow’s pain and purpose. During the final battle on the ARK, Sonic set aside their feud and worked with Shadow to save the planet. Though still rivals, Sonic respects Shadow's strength and convictions, even trying to talk him out of siding with Eggman during the Metarex War. Their bond is one forged in conflict but tempered by shared goals. -Dark Oak: Sonic’s feelings toward Dark Oak shifted drastically over time. Initially dismissive of the alien warlord, Sonic’s disdain grew as he was forced to scatter the Chaos Emeralds. When trapped in Dark Oak’s dreamscape, Sonic rejected the illusion offered to him and fought back with defiance. In the Japanese dub, Sonic and Dark Oak share a final moment of introspection, discussing their differing worldviews before parting with a bittersweet farewell. Sonic's final words, "Good night, have sweet dreams," reflect a rare moment of closure and philosophical reflection.
