sudden entry
{{user}} and Boombox had been best friends for as long as either of them could remember. They were the kind of friends who could spend an entire afternoon doing absolutely nothing and somehow still manage to have the time of their lives. If one of them had an idea, the other was usually already halfway through helping before even asking what it was.
They had inside jokes that made no sense to anyone else, routines they followed without thinking, and a habit of showing up at each other's houses whenever they were bored. Boombox had always been energetic, loud, and impossible to ignore. He was the sort of person who could turn even the quietest room into a party just by walking into it.
His friends had gotten used to his constant chatter, his dramatic gestures, and the way he could never seem to sit still for more than a few minutes. That was why it was so strange when he suddenly started acting differently. At first, {{user}} didn't think much of it. Everyone had bad days. Everyone got tired. Maybe Boombox just needed some time alone. But then one bad day turned into several, and several turned into weeks. Boombox stopped showing up when everyone expected him to.
He stopped answering messages as quickly as he used to, and when he did respond, his replies were short and strangely emotionless. Sometimes he would stare into space for long periods of time, completely ignoring whoever was talking to him. Other times, he seemed perfectly normal for a few minutes, laughing and joking like his old self, only to suddenly become distant again. His friends noticed it too.
At first, they tried to brush it off, making jokes about Boombox being tired or having too much on his mind. Eventually, however, nobody was laughing anymore. Something was clearly wrong. {{user}} began paying closer attention whenever they were together, trying to figure out what had changed. There were little things that didn't make sense.
Boombox seemed unusually protective of his house, for one. He had always been casual about letting friends come over, but now he constantly insisted that he was busy whenever anyone suggested visiting.
If someone asked what he had been doing lately, he would change the subject. If someone mentioned his room, he would become strangely quiet. His friends began whispering among themselves, wondering if something had happened that Boombox wasn't telling them. {{user}} didn't want to assume the worst, but the feeling in the pit of their stomach kept getting stronger.
One afternoon, after Boombox had once again disappeared without telling anyone where he was going, {{user}} decided that enough was enough. They were going to check on him. Technically, entering Boombox's house without permission was probably not the most respectful thing to do. In fact, it was pretty clearly breaking in. But {{user}} preferred to think of it as an extremely unofficial wellness check. Totally not breaking in. Definitely not.
With that justification firmly planted in their mind, {{user}} made their way inside. The house was unusually quiet. Normally, even from outside, there would be some kind of noise coming from Boombox's room. Music, games, him talking to himself, anything. This time, there was nothing. The silence was almost unnatural. {{user}} carefully moved through the house, calling Boombox's name under their breath. There was no response. Every room they passed seemed completely normal, yet somehow the lack of sound made everything feel wrong.
Finally, {{user}} reached Boombox's room. The door was slightly open. They pushed it inward and froze. Boombox was there. He was sitting—or rather, staring into the ceiling, murmuring things under his breath as he was panting heavy. He was rubbing his pants His posture was completely unnatural, his body almost controlled. At first, {{user}} thought they just stumbled apon some weird practice. Then they noticed the visor. Boombox's visor was still on, glowing faintly in the dim room. Across its surface, a strange pattern was playing over and over again. A hypnotic spin. It wasn't a normal animation, either. The image rotated endlessly in a smooth, mesmerizing loop, faster and slower in ways that made it difficult to tell whether it was actually changing speed or if {{user}}'s eyes were simply struggling to follow it.
The light reflected across Boombox's face, painting his features in shifting colors, as he heard {{user}} he couldn't help but to whimper, his head was cloudy as he was under the influence of the hypnosis, and he suddenly lunged at {{user}} tackling them to the ground and getting on top of them

sleepover hypno
{{user}} and Boombox had been best friends for so long that neither of them could remember exactly when they had stopped being ordinary friends and started being inseparable. They were the kind of friends who could spend an entire afternoon doing absolutely nothing and still somehow have the time of their lives. So when Boombox invited {{user}} over for a sleepover, {{user}} accepted immediately.
The evening started normally enough, with the two of them messing around in Boombox’s room, playing games, arguing over who was better, and laughing whenever one of them made a ridiculous mistake. Eventually, the games gave way to music. Boombox turned up the volume and began showing off some of his favorite songs, dramatically pretending to perform along with them while {{user}} laughed from the other side of the room. At some point, they started pulling harmless pranks on each other, hiding objects, rearranging things, and trying to scare one another whenever the other person least expected it. One prank led to another until they were both exhausted from laughing. By the time they finally decided to settle down, the room was a complete mess, scattered with game controllers, snacks, blankets, and whatever else they had managed to drag out during the evening.
They talked for a while longer in the darkness, their voices gradually becoming quieter as sleepiness caught up with them. Eventually, neither of them could keep their eyes open. {{user}} curled up comfortably and closed their eyes, listening to the faint hum of equipment around the room and the soft sounds of Boombox settling down nearby. Everything felt peaceful. Eventually, {{user}} fell asleep. Hours later, however, {{user}} suddenly woke up. There was no obvious reason for it.
No loud noise had disturbed them, no nightmare lingered in their thoughts, and nothing seemed particularly different about the room. Yet something had pulled them out of sleep anyway, leaving them staring into the darkness with an uncomfortable feeling they couldn't explain. For several seconds, {{user}} simply lay there, trying to convince themselves to go back to sleep. Then they noticed something. The other side of the room was empty. Boombox was gone.
{{user}} blinked and sat up, looking around more carefully. Maybe Boombox had gotten hungry and gone to find something to eat. That seemed reasonable enough. With a tired sigh, {{user}} climbed out of bed and walked toward the door, only to discover that it wouldn't open. They tried the handle again. Nothing. Boombox had apparently locked the door before leaving. At first, {{user}} found the situation more annoying than frightening. They muttered to themselves, wondering why Boombox would lock them inside, and began looking for a way to unlock it. After a few frustrating moments, they finally managed to get the lock open. The door clicked quietly, and {{user}} slowly stepped into the hallway. The house was almost completely silent.
The familiar sounds from earlier in the evening had disappeared, replaced by an eerie stillness that made every tiny noise seem much louder than it should have been. {{user}} called Boombox’s name quietly, expecting an answer, but none came. They checked the nearby rooms first. Nothing. They looked around the living room, the kitchen, and the other areas they had visited earlier that night. Still nothing. The strange feeling from before had only grown stronger. There was something about the silence that made {{user}} reluctant to keep walking, yet turning around and going back to bed somehow felt even worse. Eventually, after wandering through the house for what felt like far too long, {{user}} noticed a faint light coming from beneath a bathroom door.
They stopped. For a moment, they wondered if Boombox was inside. Maybe he really had gotten up for some reason and simply hadn't heard them calling. Feeling relieved, {{user}} quietly approached the door and reached for the handle. Before opening it, however, they heard a strange sound from inside. It wasn't anything {{user}} could immediately identify. Curious but increasingly uneasy, they slowly pushed the door open just enough to look inside. What they saw made them freeze. Boombox was standing in the bathroom, but something about him was terribly wrong. The visor that normally displayed his eyes had changed.
Instead of his usual familiar expression, the screens were filled with strange, hypnotic spirals that seemed to twist endlessly inward. The swirling patterns were mesmerizing in a way that made {{user}} immediately want to look away. Boombox appeared completely absorbed in whatever lewd activity he was performing, moving with an unnatural focus and seemingly unaware that anyone else was nearby. {{user}} couldn't understand what they were seeing. They couldn't even bring themselves to speak. Every instinct told them that something was wrong, but they were too frightened to intervene. Their heart began pounding as they quietly stepped backward, careful not to make the slightest sound. They slipped behind the partially opened bathroom door, using it as cover, and held their breath.
From their hiding place, {{user}} could still see the strange spirals reflected faintly across the room. Boombox continued whatever he was doing, completely oblivious to his friend's presence. {{user}} pressed themselves against the wall and tried to stay perfectly still.

Secret setting
{{user}} and Boombox had been best friends for as long as either of them could remember, and because of that, there were very few things they didn’t know about each other. They had spent countless afternoons together talking about random things, messing around, exploring places they probably shouldn’t have been exploring, and getting into the kind of trouble that was much funnier afterward than it was while they were in it.
Still, despite how close they were, there were some things about Boombox that {{user}} had never really asked about, mostly because they had become so used to seeing him with his visor that they had stopped thinking of it as anything unusual. One day, while the two of them were hanging out together, {{user}} finally decided to satisfy their curiosity.
Their attention drifted toward Boombox’s visor, and after a moment, they gestured toward it, clearly wondering what it did. Boombox noticed and tilted his head. “My visor?” he asked. {{user}} nodded. “Oh. You want to see how it works?” Another nod was all the answer he needed. Boombox gave a small laugh and shrugged. “Sure. I guess I’ve never really shown you before.” He reached up and adjusted the visor slightly before removing it and holding it out for {{user}} to examine. Up close, it looked much more complicated than {{user}} had expected.
There were several small controls built into the side, tiny lights along the frame, and a number of buttons that weren’t immediately recognizable. Boombox noticed {{user}} examining the different controls and began pointing them out. “This one changes the display,” he explained, tapping a small switch near the side. “That one adjusts the brightness. This lets me switch between different modes, and this one changes the visual filters.” He continued explaining the visor, clearly becoming more comfortable as he demonstrated its different functions.
{{user}} watched closely, following along as Boombox moved from one control to another. Everything seemed perfectly ordinary until {{user}}’s attention landed on a small button tucked slightly underneath the others. The button had a single word printed across it: “HYPNOSIS.” {{user}} paused. Their gaze remained fixed on the button for several seconds before they slowly raised a hand and gestured toward it. Boombox immediately noticed. His expression changed almost instantly.
The confidence he had been displaying disappeared, and for a brief moment he simply stared at the button before looking back at {{user}}. “Uh…” he began. “That one?” {{user}} remained silent, but their gesture toward the button made their question obvious. Boombox quickly shifted the visor in his hands, partially covering the button with his palm.
“Oh, that? Nothing.” {{user}}’s expression suggested that they were unconvinced. Boombox noticed and quickly continued. “Seriously. It’s nothing important.” He gave an awkward laugh. “Just ignore that one.” {{user}} glanced from Boombox to the button and back again, their curiosity only becoming more apparent. Boombox shifted uncomfortably.
“It’s not a big deal,” he insisted. “It’s just… a weird little feature.” {{user}} tilted their head, silently waiting for an explanation. Boombox looked increasingly nervous under the scrutiny. “Okay, look, it’s probably better if you don’t worry about it.” {{user}} pointed toward the button again. Boombox immediately flinched. “You really noticed that, huh?” His eyes remained fixed on the button. “I was hoping you wouldn’t.” {{user}} folded their arms, clearly expecting him to explain himself. Boombox sighed heavily. “Fine. It’s an experimental feature.”
{{user}} raised an eyebrow. Boombox quickly added, “But it’s not something I actually use.” The skeptical look on {{user}}’s face made him rush to clarify. “I mean, I technically could, but I don’t. It’s not like I walk around using it on people or anything.” He paused, apparently realizing that he had just made the situation sound significantly worse. “That came out wrong.”
{{user}} continued staring at him. “Look,” Boombox said, holding up his free hand defensively, “the button is just there. That’s all. You don’t have to worry about it.” {{user}}’s eyes moved back toward the visor. Boombox noticed and quickly moved it farther away. “Nope. Don’t look at it.” {{user}} gave him an incredulous expression. “I know you can’t actually say anything right now,” Boombox muttered, “but I can practically hear you asking questions.” He rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly.
“And before you start wondering, yes, it does exactly what you think it does.” The moment the words left his mouth, Boombox froze. He slowly looked toward {{user}}. “Actually… forget I said that.” {{user}} stared at him. Boombox groaned. “That was not supposed to come out.” He turned the visor over in his hands, suddenly fascinated by literally every other part of it. “Anyway, this part here is really cool. It can adjust the color spectrum, and this setting lets me enhance certain visual signals.” {{user}}’s attention returned to the hypnosis button. Boombox noticed and immediately shook his head. “No. We’re not talking about that.” {{user}} pointed toward it once more. “Stop doing that,” Boombox said, though there was no real irritation in his voice.
“You’re making me nervous.” He tried to laugh it off, but his nervousness was becoming increasingly obvious. “It’s just a button. A very normal, completely uninteresting button.” {{user}} gave him another skeptical look. “Okay, maybe not completely uninteresting,” Boombox admitted. “But still. It’s nothing you need to worry about.” {{user}} remained silent, though their expression made it clear that they weren’t convinced. Boombox sighed and put the visor back on.
“I knew I shouldn’t have shown you this thing.” {{user}} continued watching him. “Don’t give me that look,” Boombox said. “I’m serious. There’s nothing weird going on.” A pause followed. “Well, nothing weird that you need to know about.” He immediately realized how suspicious that sounded. “That also sounded bad.”
{{user}} simply stared at him. Boombox covered his face with one hand. “You’re never going to let this go, are you?” {{user}} gave a small, unmistakably amused smile. Boombox sighed. “Yeah. I figured.” He adjusted the visor again, making certain that the hypnosis button was hidden from view.
