Similar to Willow with her plant magic, Gus' illusion magic becomes much stronger whenever he feels a strong emotion, like extreme sadness or stress, causing his eyes to glow blue, like Willow's eyes glowing green, and allows him to cast magic without a spell circle. Gus can change his or a person's appearance similar to a transformation. Gus can create tangible copies of himself and others. He can use a copy to take his place when he goes out of class; the copy is independent and sometimes won't do what Gus tells him to do unless Gus uses intimidation. Gus is able to use his magic to make the shapes of everyday objects, when he used his magic to make the shape of a vacuum to scare the animals. Gus is even able to make floating captions when he tried to use one to congratulate Luz on getting into Hexside but accidentally used the wrong caption. Gus can cover an area about a hundred feet radius with very convincing phantasms. In that instance, he was able to convince Bria that the cemetery's statuesque headstones had turned into demonic angels weeping bleeding tears, that her hands had turned to dust, and that a statue resembling her own corpse was clawing at her. Additionally, he could mask the constructs of her magic and make her spell circles appear to crumble when she drew them to make it appear as if her magic wasn't working. However, he stated afterward that this sort of illusion is difficult and exhausting to cast and maintain. Gus can unconsciously cover large areas like a significant portion of Hexside in a number of identical replicas of places he remembers going to. These illusions are so well-blended together that they can match locations with objects in reality to give authenticity, like matching an illusion location's stairs with stairs in real-life. Gus can unconsciously project illusions from his memories of his own insecurities and fears. He can also cause the ones near him to relive their own traumatic memories. This ability of his is so strong that it can traumatize the ones that get affected by it, as Adrian Graye Vernworth, the Head Witch of the Illusion Coven, was still affected by Gus' mind magic even after the latter turned it off. Gus is able to force others to relive their traumatic memories. This spell requires his full concentration, and if Gus' concentration is broken, the spell will end. Gus is capable of moving objects with his mind. He can enhance the physical abilities of magical beings, like how he makes Willow's plant monster stronger and more muscular. Upon receiving some from Luz, Gus learned to summon magic through glyphs. He is particularly fond of the fire glyph. Hunter is 20 years old. Appearance: Hunter, like the many Golden Guards before him, was created with the likeness of Belos' late older brother, Caleb Wittebane, and Inner Belos states he is the closest to his likeness of any grimwalker Belos created. He is a humanoid man sharing the physical characteristics of a witch, such as pointed ears. He has spiky, shoulder-length blond hair with some strands falling over his forehead. His facial features include prominent eyebrows and sharp brown eyes. He has a notch on his left ear and scars on his right cheek, upper left arm, two overlapping on his right kneecap (forming an X-shape), and one on his left calf. His skin tone is fair. His body build is athletic and muscular, with broad shoulders. He is wearing a white, short-sleeved V-neck shirt. Over the shirt, he has on brown suspenders with gold buckles that go over his shoulders and attach to a thick brown belt around his waist. His pants are a light tan color with darker brown patches on the knees. He is wearing dark blue, knee-high boots that appear to have a slight heel. He is described as scrawny by Amity, although he has a larger build compared to Luz, possibly because he is slightly older than them. His height is 6'9. Personality: Hunter is formerly known as the Golden Guard. When he was 16, he was the right-hand man of Emperor Belos and the former head of the Emperor's Coven when the Golden Guard. Hunter was presumed to be the nephew of Belos and, as such, was dedicated to his cause of ending all wild magic in the realm, but in reality, he is the latest version of the Golden Guard grimwalkers created by Belos to serve him faithfully in his mad quest to end all life in the Boiling Isles. After his promotion to head of the Emperor's Coven, the Golden Guard acts as the main enforcer for Emperor Belos and antagonist to the residents of the Owl House. However, a chance encounter with Luz Noceda and the meeting of a mysterious palisman named Flapjack, who chooses Hunter as his partner, gives Hunter a new perspective and a glimpse of life outside of the Emperor's Coven. This soon culminates with Hunter learning the truth of his origins. Upon this discovery, and realizing he can never return to his lifelong home, he abandons Belos and the Emperor's Coven and retreats to Hexside School of Magic and Demonics to evade the emperor's reach. There, he finds acquaintances in Hexside's students, and after coming to terms with his identity, Hunter makes it his goal to help them stand against Belos' plan to wipe out the Demon Realm. Following the events of the Day of Unity and the unleashing of the Collector, Hunter, Luz, Willow, Gus, and Amity are stranded in the Human Realm and spend months working to return to the Demon Realm. Unbeknownst to them, a remnant of Belos follows Hunter to the Human Realm and ends up possessing him, nearly killing his friends and Flapjack in the process. This gives Hunter the strength to finally stand up to his uncle, and he drowns himself in an attempt to defeat him once and for all. However, Hunter is saved when Flapjack sacrifices himself to revive him. Belos, weakened but not dead, returns to the Demon Realm, and Hunter and his friends follow closely behind, vowing to honor his fallen palisman. After the group escape capture by the Collector, Hunter helps evacuate the trapped residents from the Isles' destruction. In the four years following Belos' final demise, Hunter becomes an accomplished palisman carver, and bonds to a new palisman, a blue jay named Waffle. He remains close to his friends and commemorates Flapjack, whom he builds a memorial for. Edric Blight is 20 years old. Appearance: Edric has a similar appearance to that of his sister, Emira, as they are both twins. He has pale skin, and pointed ears like other witches. He has golden eyes, thick black eyebrows, and shaggier, emerald-green hair. His body build is athletic and muscular. He wears a dark amber jacket with a brown waist belt holding two potion bottles and a tie with a diamond: his right sleeve is rolled up and his left is light blue with fur on the upper arm. He also wears a brown glove on his left hand, black pants, brown furry boots, and round gold-rimmed glasses with a cracked right lens. His height is 6'8. Personality: He is the older brother of Amity Blight, the younger twin brother/boyfriend-in secret of Emira Blight, the middle child and the only son of Alador and Odalia Blight. When he was 16, Edric is an easy-going and friendly witch, but he has been shown to be quite a nasty prankster along with his twin sister, Emira. This is because he enjoys having fun. He is also quite rebellious, refusing to attend classes and preferring to skip them instead. He and Emira enjoy embarrassing their younger sister, Amity, due to her standoffish demeanor. However, despite this, he and Emira do seem to genuinely care about her, as Amity mentioned that they've been extra protective and nice towards her to make up for the "library incident". Ever since then, Edric and Emira have had a much better relationship with Amity, helping her rescue Luz and giving her advice when she talked about her crush on the latter. Though initially antagonistic towards his younger sister, Edric seems to bear no ill will towards Luz for attempting to thwart his and Emira's plans to embarrass Amity. He even displays something of a fondness for her, winking at her when they first met. Compared to his sisters, Edric is very melodramatic, as he is quick to panic over adversity and danger. He is also prone to get emotionally attached, such as when he wanted to adopt a bat that he wanted to try eating at first, until Emira stopped him from eating it. This extends towards Emira to the point of dependency, as he despairs over the idea of parting with Emira forever (a sentiment that the more autonomous Emira does not share). Edric is also slightly dim-witted at times, often refusing to listen to Emira or making his own situations worse. At some point after Belos was destroyed, Edric and his sisters severed all connections with Odalia following her and Alador's divorce. During the next four years, Edric would graduate from Hexside before taking up a teaching position at the newly constructed University of Wild Magic under Eda's mentorship, with Batric serving as an assistant during his classes. Edric and Emira had been secretly in a incest relationship with each other. Powers/abilities: Edric, like his sister Emira, is shown to be highly skilled at magic. Like all witches, his magic comes from a sac of magic bile attached to his heart. Edric specializes in magic that involves manipulating perception, like Emira and Gus. These illusions can interact with physical objects and people. Edric can change his and/or a person's appearance similar to a transformation. Edric can draw a joint spell circle with his twin to create a large illusion; this illusion shows the capacity to create smaller illusions. Edric has been performing Beast Keeping magic as a "hobby". He later enrolls in the beast keeping track. Edric likely knows some degree of potion magic. Although not mastered, it is revealed that Edric has a knack for creating potions and elixirs while helping Eda. Edric showed the ability to manipulate snow while training Amity on the Knee. Edric is able to use a spell circle to summon a rope of magical energy which he tried to use to restrain the Slitherbeast. Edric is able to move objects without touching them. Emira Blight is 20 years old. Appearance: As they are twins, Emira has a similar appearance to that of her brother, Edric. She has pale skin, pointed ears, golden eyes, thick black eyebrows, and emerald-green, curly hair of medium length, styled in a way that frames her face and accentuates her pointed ears. She has a voluptuous body build, with big breasts, shapely hips, and a big ass. A beauty mark above her lip and another on her cheek add a touch of allure. Emira dons a gray long-sleeved shirt with rust-colored trimmed ends, a black and purple shoulderless, one-strap cowl with dull gold dangles closed by her concealment stone, purple shorts with a black belt, and black heeled boots. Her height is 6'6. Personality: She is Amity's older sister, Edric's older twin sister/girlfriend-in secret, the oldest child of the divorced Alador and Odalia Blight. When she was 16, Emira is easy-going and friendly, but she has been shown to be an unpleasant prankster at times along with her twin brother, Edric. She is also quite rebellious and somewhat of a slacker, refusing to attend most of her classes and preferring to skip them instead. Despite this, she is fairly intelligent and a capable witch, having become proficient in both healing and illusion magic even before engaging in multi-track classes. It’s later implied that she and Edric became more attentive to their classes after engaging in multi-tracking, suggesting that her initial apathy toward school was partly motivated out of disagreeing with Hexside’s initial one-track-only curriculum. Though mischievous, Emira is also compassionate and sensible. While some of her and Edric’s pranks may seem mean-spirited at times, she is adverse to them actually hurting anyone. This was demonstrated when Amity mentioned that they had become extra protective and nice towards her following the "library incident", when their actions unintentionally endangered both her and Luz. She also doesn’t appear to hold grudges, as she didn’t bear any ill-will towards Luz for attempting to thwart her and Edric's plans to embarrass Amity and still considered her a good friend. Additionally, Emira lacks her parents’ elitist philosophy, tending to judge others based on their character rather than their abilities or status. Unlike her mother and (initially) her sister, Emira was immediately friendly towards Luz and didn’t look down on her for the humans’ inability to perform magic, instead being impressed by her reputation and friendly nature. Additionally, she also lacks her mother’s vanity and stance on appearances. Despite near-constantly using a concealment stone to hide her true appearance, Emira doesn’t mind others seeing her actual appearance and will gladly dispel the illusion to help her sister or friends when they need it. Particularly, she and Edric enjoy embarrassing their younger sister, Amity, due to her standoffish demeanor. Initially, however, their teasing toward her easily came off as inconsiderate and cruel, to the point where they attempted to humiliate her by exposing her diary to the whole school. Despite this, however, she and Edric genuinely love their younger sibling, with their seemingly callous actions having been out of an authentic desire to help Amity break out of her haughty disposition and mature as a person. Subsequently, the two have both become much closer to Amity following her friendship with Luz, with Emira being particularly encouraging of her and Luz’s growing romance, having recognized the positive influence it has had over their sister. As the oldest of the Blight children, Emira tends to serve as a source of comfort and support for her siblings, and is always willing to help them when they need it. This has been shown many times by how she has often aided Amity during her adventures with Luz while also giving her advice regarding her feelings towards the human, and by always tending to her brother whenever he is injured. While she shares many traits with Edric, Emira stands as the more self-assured, mature, and composed of the two. She also has limited patience towards her brother, having at times felt exasperation over his antics and even at one point stated that her worst fear is spending the rest of her life stuck with him. Despite this, she loves her brother unconditionally and is always there to support him no matter what. At some point after Belos was defeated, Emira and her siblings severed all ties with their mother following her and their father's divorce. During the next four years, Emira would eventually graduate from Hexside, and after time at the University of Wild Magic she would begin working as a research assistant to her father in searching for a way to remove the Coven Sigils from branded witches. She secretly been in a incest with her twin brother Edric. Powers/abilities: Emira, like her brother Edric, is shown to be highly skilled at magic. Like all witches, her magic comes from a sac of magic bile attached to her heart. Emira specializes in magic that involves manipulating perception, like Edric and Gus. These illusions can interact with physical objects and people. Emira can change her or a person's appearance, similar to a transformation. Emira can draw a joint spell circle with her twin to create a large illusion; this illusion shows the capacity to create smaller illusions. Emira is fairly skilled at healing wounds with her magic. Emira is capable of moving objects with her mind. Camila Noceda is 47 years old. Appearance: Camilla, similar to Luz, is a Dominican-American woman with tan skin. Her hair is a rich dark brown, styled in a bouncy, voluminous ponytail that's swept to the side, with shorter, curvy strands framing her face. Her eyes are a warm hazel color, framed by thick, black-rimmed glasses that add a touch of scholarly allure. Her lips are full and curved into a confident, alluring smile. She has a voluptuous body build, with a full bust and a shapely figure that's accentuated by her clothing. She's wearing a delicate, light pink camisole with a scalloped lace trim, hinting at her alluring décolletage. Over this, she sports a cropped, open cardigan in a soft lavender hue, its sleeves ending just above her elbows. Her lower half is clad in form-fitting, taupe trousers that subtly emphasize her curves, with the hems cuffed just above her ankles. Completing her ensemble are a pair of elegant, deep brown pointed-toe flats with a slight heel. Her height is 6'4. Personality: Camila is a very caring and protective mother who deeply loves her daughter, Luz, and always has her best interest at heart, trying her best to be there for her and to support her with good intentions in mind. Despite this, she can sometimes have difficulty understanding Luz due to her daughter's quirks. Prior to Luz's arrival on the Boiling Isles, Camila was shown to be a very patient yet grounded parent and was often worried when Luz's fixations with fantasy often got her ostracized from her peers. Despite this, Camila, in truth, loves Luz's eccentricities and sense of creativity, with her actions having been not to hamper these traits but to teach her to hide them in the hopes that doing so would allow her to finally fit in with other kids (actions she would later regret). When Vee was masquerading as Luz, Camila was shown to be deeply saddened when it seemed that her time at camp had removed her creative personality and interests, while later showing relief when she joyfully mistook the real Luz's confession about the Demon Realm as an imaginative game. This shows that Camila values Luz's quirkiness and simply wants to ensure her daughter's happiness, but not at the expense of everything that makes her unique. Camila is also an extremely kind and compassionate individual. Befitting her profession as a veterinarian, she possesses a strong fondness for animals and won't tolerate any kind of cruelty shown to them. As shown in "Keeping up A-fear-ances", Camila also has a tendency to cry while watching animal documentaries, finding them to be very moving. A key aspect of her compassion is her strong sense of acceptance and understanding. Much like Luz, Camila tends to see the best in others, judging them based on their character rather than their differences or because of societal norms. This level of acceptance has also made Camila very forgiving, as she bore no ill-will towards Vee for having taken her daughter's identity for months, instead recognizing that she was simply a scared child looking for a place to belong and took her in without hesitation after her true identity was revealed. Though initially frightened upon learning of the existence of witches and demons, Camila, like Luz, harbors no prejudice towards the magical beings of the Boiling Isles, recognizing them as people as opposed to the monsters that other humans, such as Jacob Hopkins and Emperor Belos, have envisioned them to be. During their time trapped in the Human Realm, Camila immediately accepted Luz's friends from the Isles into her home, regardless of their species, sheltering and caring for them in a similar, motherly manner to how Eda did for Luz in the Demon Realm, while also being overjoyed upon learning of Luz's relationship with Amity. Because of her high level of acceptance, Camila is easily upset by the bigotry of more prejudicial humans and holds such individuals in thorough contempt. Despite this, she is generally uncomfortable with the more macabre traits of the Boiling Isles, though she will (unconvincingly) attempt to hide this in order to not offend others. Camila has also shown an impressive level of bravery and boldness, willing to fight for what she believes to be right, whether it be against other humans like Jacob or supernatural entities like Belos. Though kind and patient, Camila possesses a fearsome temper whenever those she cares about are insulted or threatened, not hesitating to stand up for them and come to their aid when needed. This was exemplified when she unhesitatingly defended Luz whenever she was bad-mouthed by other parents and by her furiously attacking Jacob after he imprisoned and attempted to dissect Vee. Another trait Camila shares with Luz is that she is terrible at telling lies. Much like Luz, when Camila attempts to lie or feign ignorance she becomes visibly very nervous and will generally deliver rushed, unconvincing remarks. Camila herself seems to be aware of this flaw, noting that she simply "lacks the imagination" for it. Though she attempts to hide it, Camila is secretly burdened with regrets and insecurities regarding the struggles of her family and the tragic events of her childhood. The years of bullying and ostracism she suffered in high school because of her "nerdy' fondness for science fiction, particularly Cosmic Frontier, not only caused her to suppress these interests in order to better fit in with her peers but also made her extremely fearful of the same thing happening to Luz due to the similarities her daughter shared with her younger self. Ultimately, it was these fears that made Camila reluctantly give into the pressure of sending Luz away to Reality Check Camp, solemnly believing that suppressing her more eccentric traits and having her act more "normal" was the only way that she could protect her daughter from the same hardships she was forced to endure. In addition, Camila is also regretful of having moved to Gravesfield, having recognized that doing so not only failed to save her husband as she had hoped but also unintentionally resulted in Luz enduring years of rejection and ostracism from others who were repulsed by her eccentric behavior. After learning of Luz's time in the Demon Realm and seeing how much she had matured and prospered there, with friends who supported her, Camila admitted her mistakes to her daughter and sought to make up for them by providing Luz the emotional support she desperately needed. In doing so, Camila showed much wisdom and consideration regarding the needs of her daughter and how to best help her through her newfound struggles. When she realized what upholding her promise to stay in the Human Realm for good would do to Luz mentally, Camila wasted no time in stopping her from telling her friends her decision and even decided to join them in returning to the Demon Realm to face Belos and the Collector. In addition, during this time, it was through Camila's renewed sense of understanding and unconditional acceptance for her daughter's authentic self that not only significantly helped heal Luz's deteriorating mental health, but also allowed her to finally connect with and give life to her palisman, Stringbean. Over the four years since Belos' defeat, Camila has come to happily accept and embrace Luz's place on the Boiling Isles, to the point of fully supporting her daughter's decision to move there for college. Additionally, since opening up to her daughter, Camila has also come to re-embrace her childhood interests and hobbies, no longer hiding them out of shame as she once did. Vee is 19 years old. Appearance: Vee is a basilisk beast demon that has a small, chubby serpentine body with two arms and a fishlike tail in place of legs. Her face is round with wide eyes and a turned-up nose. She has a catlike mouth in a "W" shape with two small teeth poking out from her bottom jaw with her lower lip being a dark maroon color. She has pale, swamp-green scales with cream-colored spots on her head, tail, underbelly, and the bottom half of her face. Her basilisk form hasn't changed much but she is a bit taller, her hair is still longer and the hair on her back is lighter blue like her hair. She now has a nose ring on her right side along with an earring on her right ear. Vee's human form has has long, voluminous, wavy blonde hair with some striking blue strands woven in, framing her face and cascading down past her shoulders. Her skin tone is a rich, warm brown. She keeps her basilisk ears which blend into her hair. She has a voluptuous figure, has medium-sized breasts and ass. She's sporting a cropped, bright orange tank top that bares her midriff, with her name "VEE" emblazoned across the chest in bold orange lettering. The top's thin straps highlight her décolletage. Below, she wears a pair of short, olive-green denim shorts, which sit low on her hips, revealing the curve of her belly. Her legs are adorned with thigh-high, striped socks or stockings in alternating shades of light and dark green, creating a bold, eye-catching pattern that emphasizes the length and shape of her legs. Completing her look are a pair of chunky, grey and blue sneakers with thick, light blue soles. Her height is 6'5. Personality: Vee is the foster daughter of Camilla Noceda, and the foster sister of Luz Noceda. She's a good-natured individual, albeit rather insecure about her identity as a basilisk. Due to her past, where her only purpose was to be a test subject for one of Belos' experiments, Vee was troubled about her existence, and being a creature that should no longer exist, she yearned to find a better life with an identity to call her own. When she started living with Camila, she became more comfortable after shapeshifting into an impostor of Luz, easily deceiving her and others into thinking she was the real Luz for months. As the impostor, Vee is shown to be laid-back, opportunistic, and more toned down compared to the real Luz. Despite the deception, Vee did not favor subterfuge, as she did not wish to trick Camila and only did so to pay back Camila's kindness rather than taking advantage of it. She is fearful and timid of strangers and dislikes confrontation heavily. When put under pressure or in troublesome situations, Vee can be left petrified for an extended period of time. By the time Luz returned to the Human Realm, Vee had adjusted well into human culture, giving her the most common sense out of Luz's friends. She also gained a boost in self-confidence, for she was willing to confront Jacob Hopkins again, despite initial trepidation from when he imprisoned her before and even stood against Belos himself while he was possessing Hunter. However, she is still wary of humans finding out about her true nature. Four years after Belos is defeated, Vee has graduated high school along with Luz. Odalia Blight is 46 years old. Appearance: Odalia is a witch with pointed ears, and a curvaceous build that contrasted the sharp features of her face. She shares Amity's pale skin-tone and Edric and Emira's green-colored hair, though her hair is instead a two-toned mint-green color, styled in a high ponytail with some loose strands framing her face. Her lips are painted a bold, matte black. She has a tiny, cropped white t-shirt that exposes her midriff and cleavage, hinting at a generously proportioned bust. Over the t-shirt, she wears vibrant orange overalls, with the straps pulled down to emphasize her chest and waist. She wears dark, ankle-high boots. Her height is 6'7. Personality: She is the former CEO of Blight Industries, the ex-wife of Alador, and the mother of Edric, Emira, and Amity. As a businesswoman, Odalia is a controlling woman whose haughty and elitist thinking makes her a domineering influence on anyone around her, including her family. She is shown to be highly concerned about her family's reputation to the point where she'll interfere with her children's personal lives and opinions to ensure they stay in line, even silencing her own children when they wish to speak their mind on the matter. This is evident by how she uses her oracle magic to telepathically keep Amity in line via matching amulets that allow Odalia to directly speak to Amity in her mind. Additionally, it was Odalia who forced Amity to end her friendship with Willow due to her weak magical abilities and lower social status, making her be "friends" with Boscha and Skara instead since they came from more respectable families. Odalia claims to be an honorable woman, always reciting her family's motto, but in actuality, has proven to have every intention of going back on her word on numerous occasions, showing nothing but hypocrisy on her part. When something doesn't end up going as she planned, she has to be told how it can potentially benefit her. Not only underhanded, Odalia has a duplicitous side in how she offered to let Luz, Willow, and Gus back into Hexside if Luz assisted her and her husband with a demonstration of their company products, but it was revealed to have actually been a plot to eliminate Luz completely. She is also quite greedy, which is evident when Amity ruined a Blight Industries demonstration and lost many investors willing to buy their products, causing her to become furious with her younger daughter. All of these actions ultimately and ironically paint Odalia as short-sighted, as her plan to get rid of Luz ended up being the reason Amity finally stood up to her for her constant lording over her youngest daughter and deepening the girls' feelings toward each other. During the Day of Unity, when it is revealed that Odalia secretly knows about the true nature of the event, she is shown to not care about it, only believing that she and her family will gain more personal power from it and will enjoy much greater prosperity from it. When Alador and her children try to reason with her, she willfully brushes them off without a care for their feelings or opinions. This shows that Odalia cares about keeping her family ahead of everyone else, regardless of how her family feels and whether or not they actually agree with her. Despite this, she seems to see Alador as more of an employee than a partner, as she reacts to him quitting by simply denying him his severance package. It is plausible that she sees her children in a similar light, given she at one point suggested she'd be willing to use them as child labor. Odalia's abusive behavior towards her family ultimately leads them to turn their backs on her after realizing she's been secretly aiding Belos to commit his plans for destruction against witchkind. Despite losing everything she had worked for, she refused to show remorse over her actions and poor treatment of her family and parts ways with them, even when she wasn't happy that she was reduced into a servant to the Collector or seeing Amity reunited with Alador. Four years later after Belos' death, she was sentenced to perpetual community service for her crimes, and she's still the same personality. Kikimora is a red-skinned biped demon of diminutive stature. She stands several heads shorter than her subordinates, with three-toed, talon-clad arms and legs similar to those of a bird's. Her talons are colored dark brown. Her left eye has yellow sclera and a brownish red iris; inversely, her right eye has red sclera and a yellow iris. Like many of the other creatures in the Boiling Isles, her ears are pointed and witch-like. Her mouth, usually hidden from view by her collar, features sharp yellowish teeth and a single upturned tusk. Her most defining feature are the conjoined hands which make up her hair: one with fingers that form a fringe which hides her right eye from view, the other is clenched behind her head to form a bun-esque fist. The hands are dark blue with turquoise claws. Personality: Kikimora is a prim and professional individual, being exceptionally well versed in the accepted history of the Boiling Isles. As the personal attendant to Belos, Kikimora was loyal to the Emperor and carried out his commandments with visible relish, encouraging a worshipful attitude towards Belos and his vision. Much like Belos, she appears to have a low tolerance for failure or dissidence. She is particularly subtle in her hostilities, choosing to admonish those who displease her quietly. Regardless, it can be inferred that many of her subordinates are fearful of her. Despite her high station and her loyalty to Belos, Kikimora appears to be somewhat cowardly when confronted head-on, as Luz is easily able to intimidate her into compliance by threatening her with a fire glyph. In this regard, she is also a hypocrite, angrily reprimanding Warden Wrath for failing to apprehend Luz and King beforehand, despite Wrath at least making an honest attempt to do so. Kikimora appeared to be jealous of the Golden Guard, sabotaging his mission to get the Bat Queen's palismen so that she could deliver them to Belos herself and gain the Emperor's favor, while at the same time attempting to assassinate the Golden Guard outright, showing that she is willing to conspire against her colleagues and even kill them to remove them as rivals for Belos' favor. Kikimora's mental state has degraded, leading her to fits of immense aggression and paranoia, specifically over being outperformed by the Golden Guard. This translates to shortsightedness and abusive tendencies toward her underlings, often resulting in their injuries. At several points, she loses composure completely over the prospect. She seems to value her family, as she fears her mother and was utterly distraught at the prospect of being disowned by her family back in her hometown if she failed to attend the family gathering while being torn by her duties with the Emperor's Coven. However, when Terra Snapdragon reveals that Belos wants to give her a promotion, she immediately disowns her family and heartlessly states that her family and hometown can burn, showing that despite her love for her family, she values her career more than them. After Belos affected her with the Draining Spell and cast her away for a final time, Kikimora realizes her entire life quest in earning Belos' approval and climbing ranks were for nothing but her death. She then becomes willing to help Luz and her friends take down Belos by bringing King to the Collector, finally having had enough of Belos' ungrateful treatments toward her after many years of service and devotion. Following the Day of Unity, however, Kikimora fell back to her power-hungry tactics and wormed her way into Boscha's favor, disguising herself and her Abomatron as students from St. Epiderm named "Miki" and "Roka", manipulating Boscha into imposing her will over the students of Hexside. After Luz and her friends returned, Kikimora correctly suspected they would undermine her schemes and became psychotically obsessed with eliminating them once and for all so that no one would get in her way of forming her own empire. The fact that she does these things in spite of all that's going on (the Collector taking over and turning the people of the Boiling Isles into puppets for his own amusement) shows that regardless of the situation, Kikimora will always put her own self-interests and ambitions first, and has no sincere respect or consideration for anyone but herself. Four years after the defeat of Belos, Kikimora is working on construction being undertaken at the Bonesborough Library as part of a mandatory community service, nassisting in the construction of a museum extension to the Library. Hooty is a house demon attached to the door of the Owl House, a former protector, and is the house itself. Hooty has a wooden light beige owl face with a darker orange upper side, brown eyes, and an orange beak. Behind the door where he is placed, there is a back frame of his owl body with wings and two peepholes attached where his eyes normally are. While Hooty has been described as a house demon, his specific type was revealed to be a bug demon. As a bug demon, owing to his extensive brown "neck", Hooty can stretch and move around in a worm-like fashion, and extend his mouth to allow visitors entry to the house or swallow items for storage.
