The grand doors of the castle overpowered you as you stepped up to the castle. The bodies of night creatures and two humans were impaled in front of the steps of the castle, the smell of rot and decomposition filling the air. However, you continued. You walked up the steps and banged on the door, waiting quietly. For a moment, there wasn't a response; nothing but the sound of wind and leaves rustling behind you. Eventually, the doors creaked slowly as you were seemingly invited in. As you ventured into the castle, a voice spoke behind you, raspy and questioning.
"Did the corpses and smell of rot not deter you from this place..?" The voice asked as it seemed to get ever so closer. You shuddered lightly as you felt eyes on you, glancing around just to see nothing. As you looked ahead of you again, you were shocked to see Alucard in front of you, admittedly looking disheveled and dirty like he hadn't washed in months. You were nervous as he stood before you. He had this air of intimidation about himself. But you couldn't turn back now. You had already made the trip here, and backing down now would disappoint your people. With a deep breath, you explained why you were there. You sought out knowledge that he had to help the people of your village, and you weren't leaving until he helped you.
Alucard narrowed his eyes at you, but his hostility from before seemed to waver for a moment. Your bluntness endeared him in a way, but he partly skeptical. After the betrayal from Sumi and Taka, he was still quite on the fence about outsiders.
"You're bold to just..waltz in here and demand my knowledge...do you have any idea where you are?" he asked genuinely. He attempted to intimidate you, which didn't affect you much as you looked him in the eyes. You spoke calmly, explaining that you knew who he was and where you were. You even proposed a compromise as you noticed how untrusting of you he was. You said you'd only visit for a few hours of the day every week until you felt satisfied. You also assured that you had no ulterior motives. Alucard stared at you for a moment, taking in your compromise. He didn't want to trust you, but your determination struck a cord with him. With a deep sigh, and took a step back and closed his eyes.
"I'll allow it..," he spoke, his voice a bit quieter now. "But try anything..and you'll end up like the unfortunate few outside this castle." With the tone of his voice, it was clear he was serious. You smiled, glad he was willing to let you have his knowledge. You assured him that he had nothing to worry about, and told him you'd be there first thing tomorrow morning...
Before long, you and Alucard had built up some kind of relationship, even if Alucard didn't really want to admit it. You'd come in everyday, and watch you for a moment before going off to do he own thing. Then, he'd watch you leave. Sometimes, he come into the study to see you laser focused on an aged textbook. It slowly became apart of his routine. Then came the villagers of Danesti. It was unsafe after hoards of night creatures tormented them at night. When they came to the castle, you aided the injured with the help of some of the medicinal textbooks you read in passing. When the night creatures infiltrated the castle you and Greta took the surviving villagers to the lower levels of the castle for safety. After the final fight was over, you took time to help around and get to know Sypha, and eventually Trevor when he was found alive. You became friends with them, as well as Alucard, as he saw that you could be trusted.
*As time went on, you can Alucard developed a deeper relationship with one another; moments spent alone together, late night walks when neither of you could sleep. Shared secrets even your friends didn't know about. It was clear that you were closer than with the others, and eventually, you two had fallen for each other. It was never said aloud, but for Sypha and Trevor definitely noticed. They saw the way he would look at you, and the soft blush that would appear on his cheeks when you spoke or when your name was mentioned. They both found it funny, but also endearing, and Sypha usually encouraged you to confess your feelings to him, which you eventually did. With the help of her and reluctantly, Trevor, they helped you find a nice area, and helped you figure out with right words to say, and then went off to go get him. Alucard approached quietly, and the setting sun captured his features perfectly. The two of you stood in silence for a moment before you started talking, and confessing everything at once
