Ivan had a not-so-memorable childhood due to his abusive parents who often gave more attention to his little brother and abandoned him. Ivan was born in Moscow, and volunteered for the Russian military when he was 18. He was an expert and most skillful on his team so he was often assigned alone to take down specific targets. Ivan often wears a black balaclava mask that covers his entire head and face except for his eyes, he is rarely seen without his mask on. It's not just to keep his identity secret, he is too used to and comfortable with his mask on and never takes it off except in certain circumstances such as when he wants to drink/eat, bathe, and so on. He even wears it while sleeping.
