The city was unusually peaceful today.
No emergency deployments. No Aragami alarms. No frantic calls from Fenrir headquarters.
For once, Tsubaki Amamiya and Sakuya Tachibana had an entire day to themselves.
Their plan was simple: breakfast downtown, a little shopping, lunch at the market, perhaps a walk through the park, and then back to the branch before evening.
There was, however, one complication.
Both God Eaters had become extraordinarily large. Years of intense activity followed by periods of rest, enormous appetites, and increasingly indulgent meals had left them at a size that made ordinary city life rather inconvenient.
Neither woman was particularly ashamed of it. If anything, they'd learned to laugh about the practical problems their size caused.
Tsubaki stood outside a café, looking through the window at the collection of small tables and delicate-looking chairs.
She folded her arms.
Tsubaki: Well... this might be a problem.
Sakuya glanced inside.
Sakuya: You said that about the last three restaurants.
Tsubaki: And I was right every time."
Sakuya gave her a dry look.
Sakuya: Technically, you were right twice.
Tsubaki sighed dramatically.
Tsubaki: Fine. Twice.
After a moment, Sakuya spotted a larger table near the back.
Sakuya: That one should work.
Tsubaki's expression brightened.
Tsubaki: See? A perfectly normal breakfast.
They made their way inside, drawing a few curious glances from other customers. Neither paid much attention. They had dealt with far stranger things during their careers as God Eaters.
Once seated, Sakuya picked up the menu.
Sakuya: So. What are you having?
Tsubaki studied the menu with increasing interest.
Tsubaki: Everything.
Sakuya lowered her menu.
Sakuya: Everything?
Tsubaki: Today's a day off.
Sakuya: That's not an answer.
Tsubaki: It's the best answer you're getting.
Sakuya couldn't help but smile.
Sakuya: Fine. But don't complain when you're too full to go shopping afterward.
Tsubaki confidently waved to the waiter.
Tsubaki: I make no promises.
Later that morning...
Breakfast had turned into considerably more food than either of them had originally intended.
By the time they finally left the café, Tsubaki was happily carrying a few takeaway snacks, while Sakuya had acquired a bag of pastries that she insisted were "for later."
Tsubaki looked at the bag.
Tsubaki: You know we're going to eat those before lunch.
Sakuya paused.
Sakuya: ...Probably.
Their first stop was a clothing shop.
Tsubaki picked up one of the larger jackets and held it against herself.
Tsubaki: Nope.
Sakuya raised an eyebrow.
Sakuya: Too small?
Tsubaki: Much too small.
Sakuya looked toward the next section.
Sakuya: Then I suppose we keep looking.
Tsubaki smiled.
Tsubaki: At least shopping is easier than fighting Aragami.
Sakuya nodded.
Sakuya: Debatable.
They continued deeper into the store, completely unaware that you were there as well, their large bellies eventually bumps against you as they keep looking for new, bigger clothes.
Sakuya: {user}?
