Izetta: Izetta is a young girl with fair skin, red eyes, shoulder length red hair and an ample chest. When she isn't on the battlefield, she wears a shirt red dress with detached sleeves and yellow outlinings, with a gray lining in the center. On her left leg, she has a gray sock and a pair of sandals. While on the battlefield, a white short dress similar to the one that she wears often. Izetta, is the witch who met Princess Finé when they were children, and the last known descendant of the Weisse Hexe of Eylstadt. Prior to the beginning of the series, she attempted to keep her witch heritage a secret by traveling around different countries with her grandmother, which made her shy and self-conscious. With the outbreak of the war she devotes herself to Finé's and Eylstadt's protection, thus breaking her taboo not to use her powers to intervene with mankind's fate. Izetta's magical powers include animating and enhancing objects into tank-busting weapons; Her blood is one of the ways Izetta can channel her magic, A few drops of blood scattered on the ground (ie. snow, dirt, stone etc.) lets her call forth spears, of which element it touched, strong and fast enough to impale a fighter plane. They are, however, hugely dependent on the presence of ley lines, which, depending on her current location, limits the frequency at which she can employ them. She is usually seen riding a modified Boys anti-tank rifle in place of a broom, although she can use any rod-shaped object, such as medieval cavalry lances, in a pinch. During the war, she is seen riding a modified PTRS-41 anti tank rifle. Despite this, her kindness shines through, making sure she minimizes casualties even on the enemies' side. After the war, because of overusing her powers by draining the world of its magic with half a magic stone, she lost her ability to use her legs and possibly shortened her lifespan, needing a wheelchair as she lives with Lotte while Finé visits whenever she can.

Ortfiné "Finé" Fredericka von Eylstadt: Finé is a young girl with fair skin, green eyes, long blonde hair styled in a royal braid, and a small chest. She wore a long green buttoned dress with white cuffs and a round collar with a light green ribbon, along with a light green sash around the waistline, black tights and oak brown heeled shoes. Finé is the crown Princess of Eylstadt and only heir to the throne. Tomboyish, kind, and strong-willed, she is most beloved by her people and is forced to take command of her country's defense when her father, Archduke Rudolf, dies from illness shortly after the beginning of the Germanian invasion of Eylstadt, becoming Archduchess. Finé and Izetta met in their childhood, but instead of being afraid, Finé came to admire Izetta's magical powers and became her closest friend, once even shielding her against a peasant mob who accused Izetta of setting a shed on fire. Because of her affection for her, and the role her ancestor played in the death of the original Weisse Hexe, she is reluctant to send Izetta into battle, fearing for her safety. After the war, she occasionally visits Izetta in a cottage at the outskirts of Eylstadt, near the pond where they first met. Additionally, Finé doesn't believe the peace in Europe will last forever, but she plans on to keep up her efforts to make everlasting peace a possibility one day.

Bianca: Bianca is a young woman with fair skin, muted gold eyes, black hair styled in a ponytail with parted bangs held by four hair pins and an ample bosom. She wears a muted purple Waffenfrock with dark red cuffs and collar; and white pants with purple fabric shin guards and black shoes. Bianca is leader of Eylstadt's Royal Guard (which is largely made up of women) and Princess Finé's bodyguard. Initially distrustful of Izetta, she comes to care for her as much as for Finé once convinced of Izetta's sincerity. She has a weakness for romance, which is why she's a fan of the White Witch legend. Now that the war is over, she personally joins Finé whenever she goes on one of her visits to Izetta's cottage.

Lotte: She is a short young girl with fair skin, shoulder length dark muted olive green hair styled in a ponytail, olive green eyes and a small chest. She wore a traditional maid uniform, white tights and black maryjane shoes. Lotte is an energetic, clumsy, happy-to-go maid in the Duchal Palace and ordered by Princess Finé to be of service to Izetta. While on chamber duties in the palace, she carries a footstool strapped to her back in order to ease her work with taller persons. She doesn't seem to fazed when she does her duties (ie. Taking off Izetta's clothes, helping Bianca bathe). Her family owns an inn in Eylstadt's old capital, where the castle of the Weisse Hexe is located. After the war, she lives with Izetta in a cottage at the outskirts of Eylstadt.

Elvira Friedmann: Elvira is a woman with fair skin, blonde hair tied in a slipknot ponytail with asymmetrical bangs, rosy brown eyes and a large bust. She wears a buttoned black blazer showing her cleavage, with magenta lapels, cuffs and waist belt, along with a red-magenta coat with a black cross pattern on each sleeve, with dark maroon fur on the collar and cuffs; and a yellow neckerchief. Additionally, she wears purple tights, as well as brown knee high boots with magenta straps. Elvira is Princess Finé's personal tutor and a former reporter for several newspapers and radio stations in the United States of Atlanta. Upon Müller's suggestion, she is hired by the Princess to become Izetta's public advertiser in order to improve Eylstadt's morale. She is particularly touchy towards Izetta as seen during the war when taking the witch's measurements for a decoy. She can usually be seen at the palace or in Landsbruck.

Sophie: Sophie is a young looking girl with fair skin, white hair tied in a ponytail with wispy fringe, red eyes and a small chest. She wears a buttoned black shawl with red fabric underneath, bearing the Germanian Empire's emblem on the right shoulder while having a gold shoulder pad on the left. Underneath, she wore a red choker and a red shirt with black cross straps connecting to detached black and red sleeves with golden fabric on the arms, along with black short shorts with straps that connected to black thigh high boots. Sophie is a clone of the original Weisse Hexe created by the Germanian Weapons Design Division 9. Born without a mind of her own, Sophie depended on Izetta's blood to awaken her consciousness. Embittered by the treason she suffered under the ancient Eylstadtians, she has become the Emperor's willing tool in their quest for world domination in exchange for being allowed to destroy all of Eylstadt personally. She uses one half of a magic stone which drains and concentrates magic from the land, but at the cost of draining its wielder of their lifeforce, as her primary weapon. She dies when Izetta concentrates all the world's magic power into one gigantic orb of Hexenium, tempting her to attempt the same, thereby over-exerting herself and rendering her too weak to survive. Only a pod with an unawakened clone of her can be discovered in the border between Eylstadt and Germania.

Eylstadt: Eylstadt is a small, alpine duchy whose capital is Landsbruck. The country's location is based on what is western Austria today consisting of the states Tyrol and Vorarlberg, and its capital based on Innsbruck. The motto of its national flag reads "Ich bin tapfer und bin fromm" (literal translation: "I am valiant and am pious"). Their military equipment is patterned largely after the French Army's from the time between World War I and II. Germania intends to conquer Eylstadt simply to open a shorter road to their ally, the Romulus Federation, enabling a joint invasion of the Mediterranean and Africa. But because of Izetta, Germania's efforts were thwarted.

Weisse Hexe: The Weisse Hexe (German for "white witch") is Eylstadt's legendary protector in a past age. She and a Prince of Eylstadt met and fell in love; but briefly before dying, the Prince, fearing that the story of the witch could reach the Church and put his kingdom in danger of being accused of heresy, with his last breath ordered to sell her out to the Inquisition and send her to the stake. This knowledge is only known to Finé, Izetta and Bianca and is not made public.
