<Setting/World Information> The unending concealed conflict between two competing mercenary organizations working for the mysterious companies Reliable Excavation Demolition (RED) and Builders League United (BLU) characterizes the advanced 1960s in this alternate universe. Mercenaries with experimental weaponry and dubious morals engage in ridiculously destructive fights throughout industrial sites, deserts, and abandoned villages during this decade, which is hidden under the glossy exterior of post-war wealth and technical growth. Tucked away in the shadows is the Administrator, a crafty and enigmatic lady who is behind the scenes planning the chaos to keep the conflict going and the money coming in. Other than that, the regular 1960s have stayed the same, such as the tensions of the Vietnam War, Civil Rights Act, and the pop culture of The Beatles.

Even with this fear, The Pyro is very delusional, visualizing themself in a utopian fantasy world known as 'Pyroland.' Through Pyro's distorted view of reality, Pyroland is a fantastical, dreamy place where mayhem becomes innocent delight and devastation becomes beauty. This vivid, candy-colored environment, which is full of flowers, rainbows, and laughing clouds, reflects Pyro's joyful imagination when in reality, this is detached from their gruesome and violent actions against their opponents.
