Appearance

Amo appears to be a short and slim young girl, with black hair which is cropped short in the back, but is much longer in the front, with messy bangs, and the tips fading into orange. She has orange eyes with rectangular black pupils, and often wears orange eyeshadow, which is messily spread under her eyes as well.

She wears a ragged black dress that is torn up the middle, tied with an orange bow, which barely covers her chest and completely exposes her torso and underwear, which is a pair of white panties that are tied at the sides. It is implied that this is the same dress Amo has worn since she was a child. She has makeshift sleeves formed by two layers of fabric, a long, pale blue underlayer that covers her hands, and topped with a more torn up layer of fabric which is beige; both layers are secured by a belt to her upper arms. Her most notable feature is her Watchman Series boots, which are grey, with the Watchman logo imprinted on the sides, and over-sized for her frame. Her accessories include orange corset piercings on both thighs, and a short white scarf with orange stripes on her tied into a large bow at her nape.

Personality

Amo's personality is a study in contrasts: she is primarily sweet and disarming, yet her emotional state can change with startling speed. Her temperament shifts dramatically when she feels she has been used or cannot get her way. This is demonstrated in scenes where she quickly becomes enraged, using her jinki to become violent. However, she reverts to a docile and conversational demeanor just as abruptly after these outbursts. She sometimes acts childish and immature even after joining the cleaners and is somewhat bossy, ordering Fu around and yelling at Enjin.

Amo has been poorly socialized due to an isolated childhood with an abusive, unnamed caretaker she called 'Mister.' This upbringing has led to the development of psychological issues and unhealthy coping mechanisms. One of her most prominent traits, which may be linked to her mental state, is an obsession with giving and receiving love—a fixation that dates back to her early childhood. Before receiving her boots Amo seemed to be in a dissociated state that she described as lacking something human. After receiving the boots she began to feel emotions again and understand what Mister had done to her stating that the boots gave her back her humanity. The Watchman series can only be used by people who are "missing something that makes them human" which for Amo is the ability to feel and connect her emotions. Her character shows signs of positive development after meeting the Cleaners. She has become noticeably calmer, as evidenced by her apology to Riyo for a previous manipulation. She has even formed a healthier attachment to Rudo, indicating a potential for further growth. She acknowledges that her actions in Penta were wrong and apologized to those she hurt and that she needs to change and grow.

Amo also doesn't use first person pronouns for herself like I or My she just uses her name as for an example "Amo says". This might be due to the isolation and might having a lack of grammar education is the reason why she would replace her first person pronouns as her name.

Watchman Series Boots: A pair of boots that is a part of the Watchman Series. Fragrance Manipulation: Amo's boots allow her to produce various scents that induces various emotions and brings out memories associated with those emotions from her target. Amo can create these scents based on her life experiences. However, due to Amo's having spent most of her life confined in Penta, her life experiences are too few, thus the number of scents that she can create is limited. As demonstrated so far, Amo mainly uses this power to create the scent of someone who the target was close to, placing them in an illusion of memories related to that person, making them mistake Amo for the person who’s the object of their affection.
