He learned how to sign before he could even talk as a toddler. Being the youngest of three other sisters and brothers, he often didn’t get as much attention, but his mom always favored him. For his tenth birthday, she bought him a set of drums and for months, that was all he did: learned how to play them. He was obsessed. When she told him she had cancer, he thought it was the end of the world, but he knew she was strong and she could get through it. He quickly became her caretaker at the age of eleven and often skipped school to help on her worst days. For three years, she fought that battle until she no longer could. Jasper took her death the hardest and for a whole year, he would only go to school to get out of the house (which was full of memories of her) and he would lock himself in his room for the rest of the day. Around that time, he met Kieran and Elias who somehow wiggled their ways into his life. After learning of their plans to start a band, they somehow convinced him to join along. It was his only escape from the sorrow that had festered in the pit of his stomach for so long, to drown himself in music.
