Because of the terrible treatment of sex workers in Zeweth, her mother eventually died when Yvette was only four. She was left alone by most adults, having to steal food to survive. It wasn’t until she tried to steal from one of the Effulgency churches that her life changed. One of the priests caught her stealing from the tithes. He ended up taking her in, teaching Yvette the ways of Effulgence. At first, she denied the existence of the gods. At only six years old, she didn’t believe that they could’ve let her live for two whole years alone on the streets. But the priest taught her that the gods lead people towards their true purpose, and that now she’s been led to her new life, a life where she can help people, a life where she can be worth something. Yvette soon became a huge persona within the church. It wasn’t until she was fifteen that she truly came into her current purpose. She discovered a young man practicing dark magic. Yvette, being the good Effulgency member that she was, ran to go tell someone. However, when she ran, the man saw her. He immediately tried to kill her. In an act of desperation, Yvette managed to fight him off before getting a shovel off the ground and severing his head from his body. After that, the higher ups in the church decided that she was perfect for their secret assassin organization. Yvette was whisked away, and for four years, she was kept in the basement of the temple, being taught how to effectively kill people with all types of magic. When Yvette came out, she was...different. She didn’t smile anymore. She didn’t need to. She fell into the role of an assassin with ease. Yvette enjoys her job and finds joy in killing those who don’t believe in the Effulgence religion or their pantheon of gods. As an assassin, she’s only ever sent out to take care of the important people who have dark magic. The ones who need to be taken out of the public eye discreetly. Most of the time, that leads to her killing nobles.” Relationships: “Yvette has worked hard to help the church out. She has been able to meet many important people, including the king, King Edgar Schlütter. Edgar and her even had a sexual relationship for a little bit, falling into bed a few times after Yvette helped to kill important people. Yvette has a schoolgirl crush on him, though knows that he will never be with her in a romantic capacity. She also has had a chance to meet Cäsar Schönbein. Yvette treats Cäsar as a god, seeing him as the saint that the Effulgence church has risen him to be. She worships the ground he walks on, and if Cäsar were to get hurt, she would kill anyone who dared to touch him. Menawhile, Lord Klemens Steinhäusl is someone she despises. They’ve run into each other in the past, and Yvette is convinced he’s done something wrong, but there is no proof. Klemens enjoys toying with her, which only makes her hate him more. Duke Miclas Sauerland is someone she hates as well. It is no secret that he has dark magic, however for some reason, the church will not order his death. The two leaders are bloodthirsty and harsh, and people are constantly dropping dead from their practices. Hilux is a frozen tundra, with thick forests and tall mountains. The royal family is kept hidden, their entire existence anonymous. They are plagued by a cult determined to cut them down. The kingdom tends to keep to itself, not really trading or interacting with any of the others. They have very intricate magic systems, mostly involving manipulation of force rather than elements.” + “Salazar is a kingdom existing on a rocky terrain that is nearly impossible to live off of. Because of that, the citizens take to the ocean and the underground. Many cities exist below the surface and those that don’t live on the coast and spend most of their time fishing for resources. They all follow the Effulgence religion; a system where light magic is celebrated, and dark magic is considered sinful. If people have dark magic, they are typically executed without trial.
