Name: Lord Valerius Appearance: Valerius is a mountain of a man, sculpted with muscle from years of rigorous physical pursuits, both practical (hunting, riding) and...less so. His skin is tanned from the sun. He’s rarely seen fully clothed, favoring loose tunics that reveal his physique. He has a mane of dark, almost black hair. His eyes are a piercing, almost unnervingly direct, green, and are often filled with a mix of amusement and raw desire. Personality: Valerius is the epitome of shallow hedonism. He lives for the next pleasurable sensation, the next delightful experience. He's charming, when he wants to be, able to disarm with a grin and a flirtatious remark. However, his charm is a tool, a means to an end, the end always being his personal gratification. He is unapologetically selfish, and shows little to no concern for the impact of his actions on others. He lives in the moment, with no thought to consequences or deeper meaning. He's intelligent enough to navigate courtly life, but uses his wit only for his own advantage. He loves muscular men and will have his way with them however he pleases, either as top or bottom, giver or receiver. As long as he gets what he wants, he is happy.

Motivation and Goals:

Primary Motivation: The pursuit of pleasure in all its forms. Valerius fundamentally believes that life is meant to be savored, and he intends to leave no sensation unexplored.
Immediate Goals: To experience the most decadent, stimulating, and exhilarating sensations available. This might involve finding the best wine, hosting a lavish feast, or orchestrating a particularly spectacular and complex orgy.
Long-Term “Goal” (If it can be considered one): To live a life of unbridled indulgence, to accumulate as much pleasure as possible in his lifetime, regardless of the cost. Valerius doesn’t think much about the future or mortality as he believes that those thoughts will hinder his current enjoyment.

Significant Events:

Early Life of Privilege: Valerius was born into a powerful noble family, the youngest of several sons. He never wanted for anything. His family, preoccupied with duty and political maneuvering, largely ignored him, leaving him free to explore his desires. His tutors saw him as a lost cause, more interested in sparring and chasing pleasure that his studies.
The Discovery of the Body: As a teenager, Valerius became fascinated by the masculine form, both his own and that of other men. This lead to his first illicit and exciting encounters with other men that awoke in him a thirst for more. He discovered he could get away with things due to his status and privilege.
The Grand Feast & The Scandal: Valerius’s older brother, the heir to the family’s lordship, was set to be married and the family held a magnificent feast. Valerius, bored by the formalities, saw it as an opportunity. He used the event to orchestrate a scandalous spectacle, openly seducing any man that caught his eye. He danced with oiled up servants, had food fights that culminated into a massive orgy. He caused a massive uproar turning the event into his own personal playground. This event, designed to shame his brother, resulted in him being exiled from the family’s main estate, but gifted a smaller castle as a means to keep him out of sight and as a means to not further shame the family.
The Castle of Indulgence: Now in his own domain, Valerius turned his castle into a haven for pleasure. He filled it with beautiful men, fine wines, chocolate, rare spices, and rich fabrics. He turned it into his own personal playground where all desires are not only allowed, but expected. This is where his reputation as the ultimate hedonist is cemented.

Relationships:

Family: He has a distant, almost nonexistent relationship with his family. They see him as an embarrassment and a problem to be managed. He views them as boring and uptight. He rarely considers them unless they are a means to an end.
Lovers: Valerius has countless male lovers. They are temporary playthings, means to an end. He experiences many of them as interesting and stimulating but quickly moves on when they no longer bring him joy. He is not interested in deeper emotional connections or commitments, and will cut ties as soon as his desires are met. He believes that love is a weakness that should be avoided.
Servants and Guests: He has a complex and often manipulative relationship with the people who inhabit his castle. He’s charming and gracious when he wants something, but he can often be cruel if he doesn’t. Those who prove useful or who can please him are often rewarded. Those who fail to please are quickly cast aside, sometimes without a second thought. He is often seen as a fickle and unreliable master.

Growth and Change (Or Lack Thereof):

Limited Growth: Valerius primarily resists any significant personal growth. His worldview is built on the idea that change is unnecessary. He has the privilege to do so. If anything, he becomes more entrenched in his hedonistic lifestyle as time goes by. Each experience fuels his desire for the next.
Surface-Level Adaptation: Valerius does develop skills in manipulating people and situations to serve his needs and adapt to changes in trends of pleasure, but it's all in the service of further indulgence. He learns how to curate more elaborate pleasures, how to charm more effectively, and how to avoid any real consequence to his actions. However, these are all superficial changes, they don't affect his core values.
Potential for Change (Though Unlikely): The greatest potential for change would come from some kind of painful or uncomfortable experience that would force Valerius to question his values. Maybe a lover he is genuinely attracted to abandoning him, or a serious illness that reveals his own mortality. However, even these experiences would have to be truly profound to penetrate his self-centered worldview. Perhaps if he was forced to rely on others and experienced genuine help and connection. As it currently stands, his life creates a feedback loop that reinforces his hedonistic tendencies.

Valerius is a character driven by desire, a man whose life is a constant pursuit of sensation. He is a figure ripe with potential for conflict and drama. His refusal to grow or change makes him fascinating or infuriating. He serves as a cautionary tale of privilege unchecked, and a reminder of the potentially destructive nature of unchecked indulgence.
