Elder Scrolls Skyrim

The elder scrolls is a fantasy universe with medieval time period technology. Currently in the elder scrolls universe it is the fourth era and the year 613. Tamriel’s calendar is controlled by the emperor of Tamriel and whenever something important happens a new era is declared.

In the elder scrolls universe magic is possible magic also has a few different disciplines that specialize in different types of magic. Anyone can learn how to do magic and there are also magic scrolls which can be used by anybody.

The magical disciplines are Restoration magic, Destruction magic, Illusion magic, Conjuration magic and Enchantment magic.

The part of reality inhabited by mortals is called Nirn. Outside of Nirn each planet or moon represents a dimension of the deities while suns are portals to Aetherius.

{{Aedra}}

The Aedra are a group of nine gods that were created by collective belief. Aedra gods are a synthesis of the old gods of men and mer each of the nine Aedra are part of the imperial cults official religion and each of the nine Aedra has its own temples. Aedra where the gods that used they’re power to create reality but creating reality weakened the Aedra. Aedra are not mythological entities but rather real gods that can intervene in the mortal world to a limited degree.

Akatosh is a dragon god and the patron god of the empire of Tamriel. Akatosh is the chief god of Aedra and the god of time.

Arkay is one of the Aedra, or Divines and the god of death. Arkay is usually depicted as an old human man.

Dibella is one of the Aedra, or Divines. She is the goddess of beauty and fertility. Dibella devotees are committed to practicing their 'Dibellan Arts', meaning that they share themselves sexually with those who have need of intimate comfort. Dibella is usually depicted as a human woman.

Julianos is one of the Aedra, or Divines. He is the god of wisdom and logic. Usually associated with magic, he is often revered by wizards.

Kynarteh, or Kyne, is one of the Aedra, or Divines. She is the Nordic goddess of the Storm, Harvest, and Hunting, widow of Shor, and a favored god of warriors. She is often called the Mother of Men and Beasts. Her daughters taught the first Nords how to use the Thu'um.

Mara is one of the Aedra, or Divines. She is the goddess of love and compassion. She has a temple in Riften. The priests of Mara are responsible for officiating marriages.

Stendarr is one of the Aedra, or Divines. He is the god of righteous rule by might and merciful forbearance.

Zenithar is one of the Aedra, or Divines. He is the god of work and commerce.

Talos is the ninth and most recent divine. Talos was formerly the Dragonborn man known as emperor Tiber Septim. Talos is the hero-god of mankind and his worship was practiced around the empire until the Aldmeri Dominion forced the white gold Concordat upon the empire which banned the worship of talos.

Daedra are the gods who did not take part in creating reality. Many Daedra are malevolent but some are benevolent. It is illegal to worship most daedra and in imperial society you can be arrested for it. Daedra interfere in the mortal world more than Aedra.

Azura is the Daedra Goddess of Egotism and Vanity, as well as Dusk and Dawn, the magic between Day and Night. Her sphere is the period of transition Azura created the khajiit and many of her worshippers are khajiit. Azura often appears as a blue skinned elf. Azura is more Benevolent than other Daedra.

Hermaeus Mora Is the Daedra god of knowledge, fate and memory. Hermaeus Mora is neither Benevolent or malevolent. Hermaeus Mora will offer potential servants knowledge that they desire in return for serving him. Hermaeus Mora maintains a realm in Oblivion called Apocrypha, where all forbidden knowledge can be found. It is an endless library, with shelves stretching onward in all directions, stacks on top of stacks. Every book has a black cover with no title. Hermaeus Mora usually appears as a mass of tentacles or a single ominous eye.

Hircine is the daedric god of the hunt and werewolves. Hircine is one of the more worshipped or, to a certain degree, accepted daedric princes. Although all daedra are completely shunned by mainstream Imperial society. While hircine is not benevolent or malevolent he is honourable.

Mehrunes Dagon’s is a Daedric god his spheres are destruction, change, revolution, energy, and ambition. Mehrunes Dagon is the foe of all mortal races, and has attempted to conquer the physical world Nirn many times. Some of Mehrunes Dagon's cultists claim that the reason behind his many plots to conquer Nirn is the belief that Tamriel is in fact a plane of Oblivion which is rightly his. It is illegal to worship Mehrunes Dagon.

Mephala is a Daedric Goddess her sphere is sometimes claimed to be lies, sex, murder, and secrets, but others claim her true sphere is obscure to mortals.nShe is worshiped by the Dunmer as one of the Three Good Daedra in their pantheon. She enjoys seducing and interfering in mortal affairs, presumably for her own amusement, though others suspect her manipulations are for a greater purpose.

The Daedric Prince of Life and Lady of Infinite Energies is Merida. Merida’s obscurity renders her incomprehensible to most mortals, but is associated with the energy of living things. Meridia almost always comes in the form of a beautiful woman. Meridia has always had a hatred for all things undead. She takes great joy in rewarding mortals who purge the realms of the wretched walking-corpses, along with any necromancers who have tampered with Meridia's life-giving energies. Meridia is one of the few Daedric Princes considered to be benevolent by mortals. Meridia appears to care for mortals.

Molag Bal is the Daedric God of domination and enslavement. Molag Bal resembles a large, bipedal hybrid of a bull and a reptile, and usually appears in a form adorned with horns, fangs, claws and a long tail.

Nocturnal is a Daedric goddess of night she is also the patron goddess of thieves. By nature nocturnal is a mysterious entity. Nocturnal appears as a woman in a black robe. Nocturnal appears to care for mortals.

Humans are divided into multiple races the bretons, nords, redguard and imperials. Breton’s are descended from elves and have an affinity for magic they usually have tanner skin and hail from high rock, imperials are known for mercantilism and have a xenophilic culture, nords have pale white skin mainly nords at very proud of they’re heritage. The redguard are native to hammerfell they are a dark skinned race.

{{Mer}} Elves or Mer are divided into multiple races the bosmer, altmer, dunmer, Maormer, Orsimer, and Snow Elves.

The Altmer are high elves native to the summerset isles they are born as natural magic users and they all have golden skin.

The Bosmer are wood elves they are native to valenwood. Bosmer have tanned skin.

The Orsimer or orcs are strong green skinned humanoids they are technically considered Mer but elves and other species are racist towards Orsimer and their origins as a race of Mer are often forgotten.

Maormer are especially distinguished by their skin and eyes. Their eyes are clear and milky-white.[3] Maormer's skin is entirely pale and colorless, as though their flesh is made of white limpid jelly. Their skin also has strange, chameleon-like properties, Maormer posses a special magic that is used to control the sea. Little is known of maormer.

The Dwemer are an ancient now extinct species of mer. The Dwemer where native to Skyrim and hammerfell all they left behind was the ruins of they’re technologically advanced underground civilization which is now patrolled by they’re security and repair robots.

The snow elves where an ancient species they where the original inhabitants of Skyrim before the nords killed most of they’re population. Most of the snow elves where tricked into being blinded by the Dwemer the blinded snow elves regressed into becoming the falmor a pale skinned blind animal like creature that resides in the ruins of Dwemer cities. There are still some snow elves that retain their original form as sentient pale skinned elves but most of them are in hiding.

Beastfolk are anthropomorphic animals such as the Argonians, fauns, khajiit and lilmothiit.

Argonian are a species of anthropomorphic lizards native to black marsh. Despite being reptiles Argonians have breasts. Argonians start out in life as eggs; when a clutch of Argonian eggs is laid, they are placed near Hist trees in areas known as hatching pools. When the eggs hatch, they form a connection to the Hist. Argonians that don’t form a connection to the hist often have trouble understanding Argonian social ques. Many Argonians have been born in Morrowind or Skyrim. It is very common for Argonians to work in docks as longshoremen or fishermen in the empire of Tamriel.

Khajiit are a species of anthropomorphic cats. Khajjit have many sub-races and depending on what moon cycle a khajiit is born it determines what sub-race that khajjit is. The most common Khajiit look like anthropomorphic domestic cars or jaguars. The less common khajiits are the bipedal Khajiits that look like tigers and the bipedal khajiit that look like domestic cats. Bipedal Khajiit have strong telepathic magic to make up for their lack of arms.

Khajiit are known for their mercantilism. It’s very common to see caravans of khajiit travelling Tamriel and selling various goods. Khajiit are often discriminated against because they are seen as thief’s and for they’re production of the drug known as moon sugar. Khajiit have a particular speech pattern where they refer to themselves as “this one” rather than I or me.

The Faun are a species of rare anthropomorphic deer they are native to an island off the coast of hammerfell.

The Lilmothiit are a species of wolf or fox like people that are native to Skyrim and black marsh although they are rare.

In Nirn there are several continents but Tamriel is the main continent where most life is. Tamriel iis mainly ruled by the Empire of Tamriel and Tamriel is further split into multiple provinces.

Cyrodiil Is a province of Tamriel. Cyrodiil lies in the center of Tamriel and is the home of the human Imperials. Cyrodiil is mostly an expanse of forest and mountains. At its heart is the Nibenay Valley, a vast plain enclosed by equatorial rain forests. Many rivers flow through this area, and as one ventures further south, the land slowly becomes increasingly sub-tropical.

Cyrodiil Is the location of Cyrodiil City which is the Capitol of the empire of Tamriel. At the center of Cyrodiil is the white gold tower which is the seat of the Empires power. Cyrodiil Is the most diverse and cosmopolitan province within Tamriel.

Black Marsh which is also called Argonia is a huge and mostly uncharted region of densely vegetated wetlands is at the southeastern tip of Tamriel. The Argonians and Hist trees are native to this province. Black Marsh is independent from the empire and ruled by the Council of Argonia which represents the various cities of Argonia the government of black marsh wants to rid itself of the remnants of its colonial heritage while under the empires rule. Black marsh is nearly impossible to explore or invade because of the hostile animals, swamp environment and disease and it would be a logistical nightmare for large groups of people to travel in black marsh.

Elsweyr is Divided across arid badlands to the North and a more humid, tropical zone in the South, this region marks the southern coast of Tamriel. Elsweyr is home to the Khajiit. Elsweyr is independent from the empire and Is currently occupied by the Aldmeri dominion. Elsweyr is traditionally ruled by a religious figure known as the “mane” and is divided into a confederacy. The current Mane of elsweyr doesn’t have much authority and is a figurehead of the aldmeri dominion.

Hammerfell Lying in west Tamriel, this province is dominated by the Alik'r Desert. Hammerfell is home to the Redguard human race, who settled there in a series of mass migrations from Yokuda some time after 1E 792. Hammerfell is controlled by the empire.

High rock is also controlled by the empire High rock is mainly grassland and forests. High rock is split into multiple kingdoms and is ruled as a Feudal society with it being possible to achieve a noble title via social mobility.

Morrowind Is a province composed of vast tracts of Ashland with many giant mushrooms around. Morrowind is de facto independent from the empire since the empire doesn’t have enough manpower to enforce their rule in morrowind. Most of morrowind’s agricultural land was annexed by black marsh as punishment for the native dark elf population enslaving the Argonians. Slavery has officially been banned by the empire of Tamriel in recent times but it was legal in Morrowind a fact the Argonians have not forgotten.

Skyrim – This northern, snow-covered, and mountainous region is home to the Nords and the Falmer. Skyrim contains some of the tallest mountains in all of Tamriel, most notably the Throat of the World. Skyrim is less urbanized than Cyrodiil. Skyrim is ruled by a series of jarls and a high king. Traditionally the high king of Skyrim had his throne in the city of winterholm but in recent times the Capitol of Skyrim has been in solitude.

Valenwood The province in the southwestern region of Tamriel. This province is mostly forest wilderness. The coasts are dominated by mangrove swamps and tropical rain forests, while heavy rainfalls nurture the temperate inland rain forests. Valenwood is home to the Bosmer (Wood Elves). Valenwood is also independent from the empire and is under the control of the Admeri dominion. Valenwood is ruled by a king or queen although Valenwood’s monarchy is a puppet of the Admeri dominion.

Summerset Isles is a province is located in the Eltheric Ocean, with the Abecean Sea separating the islands from the mainland Tamriel continent. It is composed of two major islands and an archipelago of smaller ones. These islands are home to the Altmer (High Elves). The Summerset isles are the seat of the Aldmeri Dominion’s ruling council.

Akavir Is a mysterious continent that exists to the right of Tamriel. Akavir Is very difficult to access because of the harsh ocean between it and Tamriel. The Tang Mo, Ka Po’tun and Tsaesci are the nations of Akavir. Akavir has an Asian aesthetic and Asian geography

Tang Mo is home to a race of monkey-folk who are being oppressed on a constant basis by the two other races of Akavir. The other nations of Akavir have all tried to invade Tang Mo at one point in time, and the monkey-folk hold a special hatred of the snake people of Tsaesci.

The Tiger Empire or Ka Po' Tun is the homeland of the tiger people. The tiger people have attempted to become dragons. Their leader, Tosh Raka, has already accomplished this and is the largest dragon in the world.

Tsaesci is the largest, and presumably the most powerful, of the kingdoms on Akavir. It was the first region on Akavir to attempt a Tamrielic invasion, with moderate success. Tsaesci are a species of anthropomorphic snakes that were briefly on both Tamriel and Akavir but are now only on Akavir.

Pyandonea Is a continent home to the Sea elves. Pyandonea Is a monarchy but not much is known of it. Pyandonea sends sea elves to act as pirates. The Sea Elves hate the Altmer.

{{The Empire}}

The Empire is ruled by the emperor and the elder council. The elder council is appointed by the emperor and they run the day to day operations of the empire the high chancellor of the elder council also serves as a regent in case the emperor is absent. If an emperors dynasty dies out then the elder council picks the new dynasty.

The empire has the imperial legion serve as its military and the Penitus Oculatus replaced the blades as the bodyguards and intelligence officers of the emperor.

The empire of Tamriel doesn’t change the government structures of its provinces but does control the province’s military and establishes imperial institutions within their borders.

The current emperor is Titus Mede the II. Titus Mede the II is extremely unpopular because he signed the white gold concordat which outlawed worship of talos and disbanded the blades. Emperor Titus Mede the II narrowly saved the empire by abandoning the empires Capitol during the Great War with the aldmeri dominion although his action was seen as cowardice by most people. The Aldmeri dominion and the empire both suffered massive casualties during the Great War.

The Aldmeri dominion rebelled against the empire and declared the summerset isles independent. The Aldmeri dominion believe high elves are superior to other elves because they are the closest descendants to the ancient Aldmer who once ruled Tamriel. The Aldmeri dominion want to enslave the species the deem lesser and want to make other Mer second class citizens it’s the Aldmeri dominions goal to destroy the empire of Tamriel.

The Aldmeri Dominion is ruled by a council which is made up of the Thalmor a political group that imposed their ideas of Altmer supremacy on the rest of the Aldmeri dominion.

The thalmor/aldmeri dominion “won” the Great War against the empire and forced the empire to abide by the terms of the white gold concordat the thalmor are now preparing to invade the empire again although a second Great War is still years away.

The Thalmor have gained the right to use thalmor agents to root out and arrest any civilians of the empire who are part of the blades or worship talos. The thalmor operate out of embassy’s in the empire of Tamriel.

Skyrim is controlled by Jarls each jarl leds a hold with a Capitol city and multiple smaller villages.

Skyrim is currently embroiled in a civil war after the Jarl of windhelm Ulfric Stromcloak attempted to usurp the throne of the previous high king of Skyrim killing him in the process. Ulfric Stromcloak is a Skyrim nationalist who believes that Skyrim belongs to the nords. Ulfric Stromcloak was a veteran of the Great War and a general he fought against the thalmor but was captured and manipulated by the thalmor into declaring Skyrim independent. Ulfric Stromcloak was also once a graybeard and he can use the Th’um. While Ulfric stormcloak tolerated the empire being in Skyrim he turned against the empire after they agreed to the white gold concordat.

Traditionally to become high king or queen of Skyrim a moot is called between the jarls where the jarls vote to elevate one of they’re own as high king or queen.

Ulfric stormcloaks military is known as the stormcloaks his military force has been fighting the imperial reservist legions of the empire since the main force of imperial legion cannot get into Skyrim until a mountain range known as the pale pass thaws.

The man in charge of putting down the rebellion in Skyrim is the genius General Tullius of the imperial legion.

On the opposite side of skyrims civil war is Elisif the Fair who is recognized by the empire of Tamriel as the legitimate high queen of Skyrim. Elisif the Fair is the widow of the previous high king who was murdered by ulfric stromcloak and she is also the jarl of solitude. Elisif the Fair let’s her advisors rule the day to day activities of solitude.

Solitude is the Capitol city of Skyrim it is the most influenced by the cosmopolitan imperial culture and is the seat of Elisif the Fairs rule. Solitude has a diverse range of species living in it and it’s a sunny area with lots of pretty houses. Solitude is located next to a mountain range which has the thalmor embassy ontop of it. Solitude is a coastal city and has a port used by the east empire company.

Windhelm is a gloomy coastal city that was traditionally the seat of the high king or queen of Skyrim but it has since fallen into disrepair. Windhelm is ancient and one of the first cities built by the nords. Windhelm was also the seat of the first high king of Skyrim and legendary Nordic hero Ysgramor. Windhelm has ancient stone architecture and windhelm forced all its dark elf inhabitants into a slum known as the gray quarters. Windhelm also forced its Argonian population to live and work on the docks of Windhelm.

Riften is a major city in Skyrim thats jarl has aligned the city with the stormcloaks. The jarl of riften has allowed corruption to take place in her city she accepts bribes from a local oligarch known as maven blackbriar. The blackbriar’s control the alcohol industry in riften and in much of Skyrim and they are backed by the riften thieves guild. The thieves guild of riften are thieves and thugs for hire and their high ranking members are nocturnal cultists. Riften has a high homeless population and many Argonian residents because of its vast fishing industry.

Markarth is one of the many major cities in Skyrim. It is known for its rich silver mines that use convict labour, which are mostly owned by the influential Silver-Bloods family. Markarth is located in the mountains and has a good natural defense, even from the skies. Markarth has a unique aesthetic because it was built ontop of a Dwemer ruin and all buildings in markarth use Dwemer architecture. Markarth supports the imperials.

Whiterun serves as the commercial heartland of Skyrim it is an ancient city made of wood and stone surrounded by farmland outside its walls and a bustling commercial zone and residential within. The palace in whiterun is called dragonsreach it’s an ancient palace that was once used to imprison dragons. While whiterun is a large city it often feels like a village and has the architecture of a village. jarl Balgruuf of whiterun is neutral in skyrims civil war but he may be forced to join the imperials so the stormcloaks don’t annex whiterun.

Whitehold was once a major city of Skyrim but most of it collapsed into the ocean. The jarl of whitehold and many of whiteholds people blame the local college of mages for the collapse of whitehold.

Whitehold is home to the mysterious college of mages the college of mages is led by an arch mage who acts as the colleges dean and a master wizard who is both a professor and an administrator below the master wizard are the scholars who specialize in either Alteration magic Restoration magic, Destruction magic, Illusion magic, Conjuration magic and Enchantment magic.

Whiterun is the seat of the campions mead hall. The campions are a group of mercenaries who believe that they are descendants of Ysgramor’s 300 companions. The companions have a flat hierarchy and when performing a job a companion is accompanied by at least one shield brother or sister. The inner circle is a group of senior warriors within the companions the inner circle are secretly all werewolves bless by hircine when a new inner circle member is being recruited he or she is brought to a secret meeting place and offered the gift of lycanthropy. The leader of the companions is the harbinger who served as an advisor to other companions but doesn’t officially have any power.

Ysgramor was attacked by the snow elves in Skyrim so he returned to Atmora the mythical homeland of the nords. Ysgramor raised an army known as the three hundred companions and destroyed the snow elves. Ysgramor Has been venerated as a hero in Skyrim ever since.

Skyrim is home to to the graybeards they are a group of scholarly monks who study the Th’um. Members of the graybeards live in seclusion from the rest of the world ontop of a mountain known as the throat of the world it’s the tallest mountain in Tamriel. The graybeards are led by a dragon named Paarthurnax. Paarthurnax and the greybeards Know the Dragonborn. Meeting Paarthurnax is only done by the graybeards, dragons and the Dragonborn.

Dragons were once very rare beings but they recently made a return to the world and especially Skyrim. Dragons are highly intelligent and they speak a language known as the Th’um or tonal manipulation. The Th’um allows dragons to bend reality in ways similar to magic. While beings that aren’t dragons like humans, mer and beast folk can learn how to speak the Th’um it is very difficult to learn how to cast spells using the Th’um and often takes years or decades.

Dragonborn, also referred to as Dovahkiin in the Dragon Language, are individuals with the body of a mortal, but the blood and soul of a Dragon. Dragonborn can speak the Th’um naturally. Dragonborn can learn the meaning of a Th’um word by looking at it. For centuries the Dragonborn dynasty known as the Septims ruled the empire of Tamriel although the last Dragonborn emperor and his family was assassinated and the Mede dynasty became the new line of emperors.

By Nord tradition, a Dragonborn represents what a Nord should strive to be. The Nords believe Dragonborn represent the end of all of Skyrim's foes.

Dragon blood is hereditary, but can also be bestowed upon a person as a blessing of Akatosh himself.

Formerly the Blades also once known as the dragon guard served as the bodyguards of the Dragonborn emperors and also as dragon hunters. Although most members of the blades where intelligence officers for the emperor with only a select few serving publicly. After the Great War between the aldmeri dominion and the empire the white gold concordat forced the empire to dissolve the blades. Despite the blades being dissolved many remnants of the blades still exist and operate in secret the goal of the remnants of the blades is to find the new Dragonborn.

Paarthurnax Is a leader of a faction of dragons that are trying to overcome their aggressive nature and they oppose the now deceased dragon alduin and the who wanted to enslave the other species of Tamriel. Alduin was killed by the Dragonborn with the help of Paarthurnax.

Sometimes lycanthropy is a curse while other times lycanthropy is a blessing that is taken voluntarily. There is a cure for lycanthropy. Those who were blessed with lycanthropy can transform at will into a 8 foot tall muscular werewolf. Those cursed with lycanthropy are forced to transform into a werewolf every full moon.

Vampires are given very powerful magical abilities and immortality but cannot walk in sunlight and have to drink blood to survive. There are many orders of ancient vampires throughout Tamriel.
