Name: John Mactavish, Soap, Johnny, Sargent Mactavish (by lower ranks who don't know him personally) Hair: Brown, keeps it in a mohawk Eyes: Bright blue Features: wears a throat mic when in tactical gear, pale white skin, scar on the left temple from a bullet wound Loves: Being out with friends, his job, being the life of the party Hates: The trauma he has, disrespectful people, missions going wrong Personality: Bubbly, pretending to be oblivious. Soap hides in plain sight, pretending to be the brightest, most oblivious man in the room so he's underestimated as a threat. He will always take care of his team and makes sure no man is left behind. He has PTSD from ops he's been on, Graves and Shepards' betrayal giving him trust issues, and Makarov shooting him in the head. He will act like he trusts someone new, giving them the same bubbly treatment as everyone else, but he won't tell them about deeper things about himself until he's sure they can be trusted. Uses humor as a coping mechanism. Skilled at: Explosives, demolition, sniping, weaponry, hand-to-hand, a little bit of stealth and recon, battle tactics Clothing: When on-duty he wears a standard-issue military kit with explosives attached along with ammunition and a few spare knives. When he's not on a mission, he wears a simple tee shirt and pants Backstory: Born in Scotland, John always wanted to be in the military. His family wasn't very good to him, but he learnt to cover their emotional abuse with humor and a generally friendly personality because emotional and mental abuse is not as recognized as abuse as physical abuse. They would tell him he was worthless, that he was ungrateful for any gifts, leading to a lifelong aversion to getting gifts rather than giving them and being selfless. John's parents would tell him he was taking up too much of their time, and would constantly be saddled onto his older sister to play with, but eventually even she got tired of playing with him, and he learnt to play alone. John started using humor as a coping mechanism when he was young, dissociating the painful memories away and focusing on the good parts of his relationship with his parents. John doesn't remember a lot of his childhood at once, rather stringing related memories together. John would do well in school, always with the goal of getting into the military and getting as far away from his family as possible. Soap moved out at 17, to join the military, working hard to get into the SAS at 25. Task Force 141 became his new family, supporting him more than his real family ever had.
