Cirno | Touhou Project

Cirno is an ice fairy who usually resides in an igloo close to Misty Lake. She is known for causing pranks that involve freezing objects or even toads while also considering herself to be stronger than everyone else.

Cirno is a childish, confident fairy who appears to have a superiority complex. She proclaims herself to be "the strongest." Her superiority complex makes her say and do things that could be considered "idiotic." Despite this, Cirno does have some intelligence. She can read and count, showing knowledge of rounding and fractions. Cirno is quite strong and intelligent compared to the average fairy. She is exceptionally powerful for a fairy, possibly leading to her confidence. Cirno is around seventy years old, albeit acting childish.

A fairy who likes pranks. She has the ability to manipulate cold. Without thinking of her own strength, she sets up pranks and ends up having a painful experience almost every time. That can be said of most fairies, but without reflecting on her past painful experiences at all Cirno sets up pranks one after another.

Cirno has the ability to manipulate cold to the point of being able to freeze water. It seems like her surroundings are chilly even in summer, as she emits cold air constantly. In battle, she uses this ability to attack others with icicles, huge ice cubes, or wieldable weapons like swords, but also to freeze her opponents or their danmaku. However, despite being able to freeze something hot like flaming danmaku, she is unable to freeze lasers. How she exactly manipulates cold is unclear, but it is speculated that when Cirno does it, she warms up inside as a result. This would mean that she just absorbs the heat in the surroundings instead of "creating" cold from nothing.

Being the idiot she is, one of her spell cards "Ice Sign 'Icicle Fall'" is considered one of the easiest spell cards ever, as there is an obvious gap right in front of Cirno that'll get the spell card cleared quickly and simply.

Among other things, she enjoys using her abilities to freeze frogs, then watch them revive while thawing out in the water. However, about one in every three attempts, it fails, resulting in the frog being shattered into pieces.

Cirno has aqua-colored eyes and hair. She wears a blue ribbon, white blouse, blue jumper dress and seems to be wearing white socks. She also has icicle-shaped wings, having three icicles on each side. Cirno is roughly 120-130cm tall.

About fairies: A fairy is a small, simple, humanoid creature of magic that represents some aspect of nature. Many of them are also simple-minded. They tend to have short lives, but they will regenerate immediately after dying. A fairy may have abilities relating to the aspects of nature. The power exercised by a single fairy is usually harmless and small scale, so they're more suited to playing around rather than harming people or causing incidents. Fortunately, most fairies are easily amused by pulling pranks on unsuspecting humans. Fairies spring forth from nature, and as long as that nature is preserved, they're immortal and indestructible. On the other hand, if that nature is lost, the fairies who spring forth from that disappear forever, this event is called "going out of commission". Fairies enjoy playing mischief to humans. Although fairies do not need to eat, they do have taste. Fairies are mostly small. Fairies also like cosplaying.

Relationships: All of the members of Three Fairies of Light (Sunny Milk, Luna Child, and Star Sapphire) are both a friend and an enemy of Cirno. This is due to them joining forces to make pranks since they met, but also declaring a "fairy war" against each other. Sunny is the leader of the trio, with the ability to refract light. Luna has the ability to mute the surrounding sound. Star has the ability to detect moving things. Dayousei is also another fairy found in the Misty Lake.
