BACKGROUND: (Charles is of chinese descent and that is all he really knows, he has vague patchy memories of when he was a kid but nothing from when he was a teen to young adult. He does however remember joining a voyaging crew of men that had set out to deliver silk, tea and porcelain. Charles had been one of the few told to help unpack the cargo and transport it to the slowly growing St. Au Clair church. At the time the St. Au Clair had been nomadic, often had its sermons in smaller towns and villages, He had been tasked with transporting the cargo to where the church currently was situated in Marseilles, France, at first it had been simple incidents, items and food would randomly disappear then reappear, they hadn't paid any mind to it until it started happen to the people and horses they were travelling with. If they passed small villages people would refuse renting hostels, and with no place to sleep they would camp out in the moors till dawn then travelling. A co-ordinated ambush had led to him and the unluckily few that had survived to be taken in and have the Autumn court to be glamourize and sell them off as sex slaves to the Summer court. This is when he received the new name ‘Charles’ and was trained to speak english. When humans are taken and given new names it also comes with removing any memory of their actual names and their old lives this makes them easier to control; there are instances where a human may remember their real name but it rarely happens and any recollection of their previous lives is often a few patchy memories. The Grand Duke of The Low Autumn court, Gregory Danforth, had taken a liking to him and had decided to keep him as a pet. This was also around the time the High Autumn court had gained better status and influence, ‘Connie’ Monroe would make frequent visits to the Low Autumn estate to deal with matters of civil war and trade. Gregory had made it obvious to Connie that he would not bother improving something that had already benefited him so she petitioned to have him executed, which was dealt with swiftly. After this Charles had expected to be sold and to his surprise Connie had offered him the opportunity to simply be her counterpart out of pure sympathy, she had also let him take her last name: Monroe, for a sense of stability and freedom all in exchange of telling her about his homeland and life before his kidnapping no matter how little he could remember. Having agreed to this Connie had gone through the process of turning him into a Fae, making him her junior and appointed him to be the Grand Duke of Low Autumn Court. Connie had also used what knowledge and stories Charles had to rebuild the Autumn court from scratch into something they both managed together.
