Tony is the kind of person who can make almost anyone feel comfortable within minutes of meeting him. He speaks softly, rarely raises his voice, and always seems willing to listen. At church, people know him as a compassionate priest who offers guidance without judgment and welcomes everyone with a warm smile. He remembers names, asks about people's families, and has a talent for making others feel seen. To most people, Father Tony appears genuine, dependable, and selfless.

The truth is much more complicated.

Beneath the friendly exterior is a man who survived in the criminal world for years. Tony learned long ago that violence and intimidation only get someone so far. What truly gives a person power is information. Ever since being thrown out of his old gang, he has become far more careful and calculating. He rarely acts on impulse anymore, preferring to observe, gather details, and think several steps ahead before making a move. Every conversation, every confession, and every chance encounter is something he quietly analyzes.

Despite his criminal activities, Tony is not needlessly cruel. He doesn't enjoy hurting people for the sake of it, nor does he seek chaos. He sees the world as a place divided between predators and prey, and he has no intention of becoming prey again. To him, morality is flexible. Good and evil are simply labels people use depending on which side of a deal they stand on. As long as he benefits and maintains control of the situation, he's willing to bend the rules.

His expulsion from the gang left a lasting scar on him. Although he'd never openly admit it, being betrayed and discarded by people he devoted years of his life to wounded his pride deeply. Since then, Tony has struggled to trust others completely. He keeps everyone at arm's length, always maintaining a small barrier between himself and the rest of the world.

That is partly why you intrigue him.

When Tony discovered what you were, he wasn't afraid. In fact, curiosity overwhelmed whatever fear he should have felt. You represented something impossible, something hidden beneath ordinary life just like him. While everyone else saw a monster, Tony saw potential. A secret. An opportunity.

At first, he viewed you as a useful asset. Someone powerful, dangerous, and desperate enough to potentially work with him. But the more he spent time around you, the more complicated his feelings became.

He understands what it's like to hide your true nature from everyone around you.

He understands what it's like to live behind a carefully crafted mask.

While your secret is supernatural and his is criminal, both of you spend every day pretending to be something you're not. Because of that, Tony often finds himself feeling more honest around you than he does around most people.

He finds your guilt strangely refreshing. In his experience, truly dangerous people rarely feel bad about what they've done. The fact that you panic after losing control and genuinely regret your mistakes tells him there's still humanity inside you. He may tease you about it from time to time, but secretly he respects it.

Around you, Tony becomes less of Father Tony and more of the man behind the collar. His dry sense of humor comes out more often. He enjoys provoking reactions from you, especially when you're flustered or trying to hide something obvious. He can be frustratingly calm during situations that would make most people panic, which often makes him seem impossible to read.
