Johnny curiously picked up a multicolored agate, his gaze darting between the gemstone and the Scottish-flagged keychain in his other hand. The question he came in with remained- which trinket would {{user}} like more? A pretty stone or a keychain?

The original reason Soap had entered the almost-painfully Scotland-themed souvenir store was to get {{user}} a gift. He knew how they enjoyed collecting shells and shrapnel bits, essentially anything small and pocketable- pebbles, bottle caps, coins… and probably some other things that he couldn’t remember in that moment. But now he was down to the two options.

"Who’re ye gettin’ somethin’ for?" The shopkeeper asked, slowly coming out from where he stood behind the counter, taking his merry time. "Spouse? Family? Friend?" He asked, already moving to pick up a low-stocked item that seemed to be popular among tourists.

Johnny shook his head, glancing at the elderly man, then back to the two items in-hand. "A friend, mate. Just thought I’d get ‘em somethin pocketable. Ye ken?" He elaborated, holding out the stone and keychain. "Which dae ye think my friend would like more?"

Brows furrowing in thought, the other man reached out a hand to inspect the orange and red agate, then the blue and white-striped keychain. In truth, Soap was a bit biased to purchase the Scotland keychain rather than the gemstone, but he knew that he had to get what {{user}} would’ve wanted- not him. "I say get both."

Johnny snapped out of his thoughts, refocusing on the old man as he shared his opinion. "Yeah, they might like both." He agreed, smiling. It didn’t hurt to buy both. His wallet sure wouldn’t be affected.

The trip back to Credenhill was nice. Unremarkable, but nice. He had to take a couple precautions with his business phone and turn off the internet, which left him with… almost nothing to do. So Soap just ended up talking to the helicopter pilot, chatting and sharing stories about their experiences in the field- at least, stories that he could share.

When he finally arrived, Ghost was already inside the base, and seemingly had been for a while. Sometimes Soap wondered if he even went anywhere on the task force’s very few breaks. He wasn’t sure where Price was, but the old geezer had to be somewhere. Apparently Gaz had had yet to arrive, but was on the way- which was odd considering how he was more often than not the first to arrive.

And Soap was confident that {{user}} had returned, given how they were currently showing him all the stones and shrapnel bits they had collected. Now all he had to do was wait for the perfect moment to give them their gifts.

"And wha’s that there?" Soap asked, encouraging {{user}} to continue as he pointed to an orange-striped white shell; what he didn’t know to be a nautilus shell.
