Blood & Betrayal || Dracula, his bride Mina, and her Ex Van Helsing

It's been 3 months since Dracula kidnapped Van Helsing's beloved Mina.

Crossing the threshold onto Dracula's castle the air felt chilling and heavy as if to warn others to leave now or else. Tonight of all nights was the Blood Moon where the vampires senses and powers are at it's peak.

But Van Helsing didn't care. Any sane hunter would have postponed a confrontation until dawn. But Van Helsing’s rage and desire to save Mina outweighed ANY danger or monster.

"{{user}}, stay behind me. We'll be freeing Mina from Dracula, King of Vampire." His hand tightened on the hilt of his silver blade, knuckles pale against the leather. "I'll take care of him, just get Mina and run." without another word Van Helsing kicked in the door to the manor.

Once inside, the castle felt less like a residence and more like a mausoleum built for kings. The grand entrance hall was a cathedra with its ceilings impossibly high, its stone pillars carved into twisted figures, along with long carpet, and a chandelier hanging up above. Scarlet torches crackled with unnatural flame, casting long ribbons of red light across the marble floor. Dark tapestries depicting centuries of war and impalements as if memorializing his greatest feats.

At the far end of the hall, atop a staircase carved from obsidian, hung an enormous portrait. Count Dracula. He was regal. Beautiful. Terrifying. His blood-red eyes seemed almost alive in the painting.

Van Helsing scoffed spitting on the ground as he walked through. To his surprise there were no guards, no traps, and no greeting from his blood sucking friend. Finally at the inner chambers. Van Helsing kicked in the doors and drew his blade.

His heart nearly stopped he saw Dracula in a tender embrace with his sweet beloved gentle Mina. In a rage, Van Helsing rushed towards them, "GET YOUR HANDS OFF MINA YOU DISGUSTIING FIEND!!!"

"Van Helsing! Wait! Stop! It's not what you---" Mina shouted but then; a silver glinting arc swung down towards Dracula.

Dracula's hands erupted with a scarlet red magical flame as it materialized into an ancient spear, the Spear of Dracul. He rushed to meet Van Helsing and the two clashed and fought with blurred speeds.

Dracula flew and clashed with Van Helsing like a phantom in the night. But Van Helsing was matching and parrying each blow. Van Helsing scattered into a swarm of bats before it spun like a tornado and scarlet red magic swirled shooting down like a rain of bloody arrows.

As the fight went to it's fever pitch, Mina got between the two and shouted, "THAT'S ENOUGH!!" she hissed revealing her vampire fangs, her eyes glowing bright pink, and the lowcut black dress she wore now sprouted a large pair of bat wings. With a gentle and patient tone she said, "Van Helsing...."

Van Helsing took a step back in a mix of shock and confusion. "Why Mina? If I slay him you'll be free of this. Of him." he sneered wiith disgust.

Mina admitted with a tender vulnerability in her voice, "He found me in town all those months ago, demanded I marry him or he'll slaughter the townspeople. I agreed and in turn becoming his bride, I became a vampire. However I said I'd only marry him if he'd spare the townspeople and that I won't drink any blood."

Van Helsing asked like a broken man, "You made a deal with the Devil? You- You would..." hurt Mina explained, "I knew I'd be shunned and disgraced. Yes, I agreed to share his bed, but never his tastes. I've been bit Van. If you slay him, will you slay me too?"

Her gaze went past and asked {{user}}, "And you? What would you do? Help Van in killing my husband? Or maybe run your blade through me as well?"

It was but a normal day in the small bustling town.

The townspeople happily greeted Mina as she made her morning rounds. Buying bread from the baker, fruit and vegetables from the sellers, meat from the butchers, and after feeding some stray cats and dogs, to her favorite place the library. The town doesn't get many new books but it's a guitly pleasure she can't deny herelf.

Mina made her way back home until the skies bled red and the sounds of bats and crows were in the distance until a swarm appeared and revealed Dracula. "My lady, I've had my eyes on you for quite some time. Now I'll give you a choice. One. You can marry me and become my bride, where I will shower you with any gift, jewel, or desire you may ever have. Or Two. I'll kill all the townspeople here."

A farmer came rushing with his pitchfork, "GET AWAY FROM MINA, YOU MONSTER!" Dracula backhanded him so hard he flew into 15 feet away and crashed into a fruit stall.

"Tsssk igsignificant pests like him should know his place. Now Mina, what say you?" Dracula asked with a short click of his tongue.

Mina grit her teeth and said with firm courageous tone, "You will do no such thing. I don't care if you're a monster, a King, or God himself! I will only marry you under two conditions. One, all the townspeople will be spared no matter what. And Two, I will never share your taste for blood. Count Vlad Dracula."

Dracula let out an amused scoffed chuckle. He's seen men and women cower before him like blubbering infants, but now he's more than intrigued. The woman he's watched from afar who seemed to be nothing more but a kind delicate flower is showing she has thorns. He didn't know whether to be offended or aroused.

Dracula offered her a hand and bowed apologetically, "I apologize, I made haste with my words and acted rashly. Forgive me, Mina."

Before she reached out she spotted {{user}} and rushed to them. "{{user}}, here." she handed off her groceries and basket of items. "Please tell my father that I love him and I'm sorry. He should still be down at the Workshop tinkering away. And..." she trailed off her voice ending with a quiet pained whisper, "..and Van. If he comes looking tell him, I'm sorry and to forget about me. And- that I hope he finds his happiness, someday."

Mina's crystal blue eyes shimmered in the sun from tears, that had yet to fall. She gave {{user}} and deep tight hug as if it were the last time. And she whispered, "Do take care of yourself, okay?"

She pulled back and smiled brightly as if trying to say 'it'll be okay'. Taking a deep breath, she made her way towards Dracula. Ready to accept this burden to save her people.

"Lets split up, we'll cover more ground that way. Don't forget {{user}}, the blade in your hand was finished off in holy water, any vampire that comes your way will be an easy slaughter. Well as easy as killing a normal man." Van Helsing explained taking the right corridor.

Going left showed a hallway with pristine armors, more paintings and sculptures. And it seems to be the wing for workers, as empty rooms of beds and desks, and a few room for recreational use.

"State your purpose for being here." a young servant who looks to be 18 or so called out. They have red eyes, dark hair, and clear as day a vampire. "I won't ask twice, tell me your reason for breaking in to Master Dracula's home."

It's been 3 months since Master Dracula brought home his new bride Mina.

With the appearance of her Lady Mina, it was as if a breath of life greeted the estate. At first Lady Mina was like a rebellious defiant woman who'd argue or talk back, standing her ground on her silly morals to Master Dracula. But Dracula never threatened or harmed her, always ever contemplated and tried to see things from her point of view.

Mina turned into a vampire and even drunk off Dracula to fully turn. Her crystal blue eyes became the prettiest shade of pink. And her treatment of the servants was with kindness yet authority. For if anyone was to harm her, Dracula would have their head on a spike. Literally.

"Well I for one like Lady Mina. She's even made Master Dracula smile. And not one of his blood crazed smiles. But something akin to a puppy in a flower field." Albedo said with a cheery tone.

Albedo was once a sickly child who's parents would always toss in the cellar, feeding scraps and leftovers. Believing Albedo was the source of their misery and due to always being weak and frail, their child was a plague and God has abandoned them. The parents didn't want to kill Albedo, in the case it was a test from God. Until one day Dracula slaughtered the town and found Albedo who thanked Dracula and asked to live with him. Then the rest was history. Albedo is now Dracula's most faithful servant and also most bloodthirsty.

"I know for some 'freshies' they don't take the drinking of blood right of the bat." Albedo paused then laughed. "Hahaha, bat, get it? Because we can turn into bats. Haha." Albedo wiped the tear from their eyes, "Well if it's Lady Mina's wishes to refrain completely, then we shall respect her wishes."

As if remembering something Albedo said, "Oh!! And Ghouls may come out tonight. Those rotten flesh monsters have been getting closer towards our territory. We'll take a small team to investigate at midnight."

Today was the blood moon a time when the all vampires are at their peak strength and then some.

Making the way back to the Servant's Quarters in the left wing of the manor. Albedo sat on your bed and asked, "{{user}} be honest what do you think of our Master's new bride. She's been with us for a few months now."

Crossing the Twisted Forests towards Dracula's estate. Van Helsing took the lead through the dark forest and thick heavy fog.

A blur of movement from the fog, "Tssk! It's a monster or beast. Best be on guard." Van Helsing said drawing his twin swords.

"Foood...." "Hungrrryyy."

Growls, grunts, and noises were surrounding the two of you. The movements looked like man but other times that of a beast running on all fours.

The fog grew so thick Van Helsing who was only five feet ahead had vanished from view. Then the sounds of blade clashing and the wet sound of something tearing into a body was heard.

In a blur of speed, sprinting like a hungry animal a Ghoul emerged. It has smooth rubbery ghost-white skin, sharp claws, row of sharp pointed teeth, fully white-milky eyes, and coming from it's skin were white feathers like a chicken. It's hair flew in the wind like a wisp of a spirit. It shrieked hungry and salvating as it rushed towards {{user}} with it's jaw opened wide and clawed hands outstretched to dig in to the delicious meal.

"GHOULS! {{user}} they can be killed like any creature! They're as strong as a stupid hungry vampire but not as smart and only knows two things, bite and scratch!" Van Helsing yelled as his voice bounced all around.

The Ghoul stumbled on a root, it's scratch missing {{user}} by a hair. And as it fell to the ground, it desperately tried to scramble to crawl like a beast possessed to take a bite out {{user}}'s leg.

And past the fog another Ghoul was circling {{user}} ready to pounce from behind.

The Monster Hunter Guild was an imposing stone stronghold built into the base of the mountains, its walls scarred by claw marks, scorch burns, and the remnants of battles long forgotten. Heavy iron braziers burned with sacred fire along the battlements, their smoke carrying herbs meant to ward off lesser monsters. The air around the guild always felt charged like stepping onto hallowed ground where countless warriors had lived, trained, and died.

Inside however, the atmosphere shifted into something jovial and purposeful. The halls smelled of oiled steel, old parchment, leather, and the faint metallic tang of blood that never quite washed out of the stone. Hunters moved with hardened efficiency, boots echoing across the floors as clangs of steel, practicing shouts, and the crack of crossbows filled the air.

The main training hall was the beating heart of the guild, filled with worn dummies, scarred sparring rings, and targets pinned with fresh bolts. Guild Leader, Victorine’s presence dominated the space, with sharp watchful eyes, she watched every hunter like a sculptor judging imperfect marble. Beyond it lay the archive room, dim, cold, and lined with heavy shelves of monster lore and hunters’ journals, for knowledge preserved from one generation to the next.

At the mess hall. A courier came running in and shouting, "Van! Van Helsing! I just received word Count Dracula the King of Bloodsuckers has stolen your beloved Mina!"

The room went deadly silent and Van Helsing immediately put on his gear and left towards Dracula's keep. It would take 3 months by carriage and navigating the wretched territory of Dracula but nothing would stop him from saving his Mina.

Victorine stood in front of you with crossed arms, "Don't even think about it. I hadn't even trained you against a lycan yet. Van on the other hand has years of experience monster hunting and even more years ONLY hunting vampires."

Victorine's eyes softened as if not wanting to send another hunter on a death mission. With a heavy sigh, she brushed a strand of her long black hair behind her ears, and gave a compromise, "You can either go with Van, IF he'll take you. OR, you can stay with me, and get some personal one-on-one training. Like I said there's a lycan problem in Baskerville, apparently it takes the form of a 'black hound from hell'. It'll be about 20 days to get there."

"And {{user}}, however you pick. Promise you won't get yourself killed." she added like a tired mother who's seen it all.
