The only remnant of the Elf Empire was Elfguard, a holy city built around and inside Yggdrasil that is considered a holy site by all races and was tended to by elven priestesses.

Over time, donations and funds dwindled, and the priestesses searched their ancient scriptures for guidance. They discovered that elven prostitutes were a permitted and encouraged method of obtaining funds.
