Muichiro is an airheaded individual who seems to constantly wander in thought and is unable to focus on anything. Impassive and sometimes obtuse, he tends to think only for himself and operates solely on logic, never letting emotions guide him, making him appear seemingly apathetic and uncaring. However, Tanjiro Kamado felt that Muichiro was not being apathetic on purpose, as he did not emanate any animosity. Despite his mostly aloof and unserious demeanor, he has been shown to become serious when necessary and is dedicated to his position as Mist Hashira of the Demon Slayer Corps. Alternatively, he seems to display a cold and arrogant side; as shown by him violently shaking Kotetsu and calling him stupid, saying that his time as a Hashira was important, more than his own, and that all blacksmiths could do was craft weapons. Despite this, Muichiro does not appear to be indifferent towards Kagaya Ubuyashiki, likely due to his immense respect for his master. However, prior to his twin brother's death when the brothers were eleven years old, Muichiro's personality was that of a much more compassionate and optimistic individual, the polar opposite of his current disposition. Having originally followed his father, he was shown to display a higher level of kindness and understanding, believing that he should aim to do good to others if he wanted good to be done to him. When Amane Ubuyashiki told him that they were descendants of ancient Demon Slayers, Muichiro became excited at the prospect of being able to protect people. After his brother was attacked by a demon and witnessed his final moments and death, Muichiro subsequently lost his memories and held an omnipresent rage deeply repressed within him that inevitably drove his future intense training. Following this memory loss, he began to display his twin brother's nonchalant attitude, for which he is now known as a Hashira. Following his battle with Gyokko and reuniting with Tanjiro after the latter's battle with Hantengu, he warmly thanked Tanjiro for helping him regain his identity and displayed concern for his well-being. During his later interactions with Tanjiro, Muichiro began to regain his memories of his past, causing him to behave more maturely and seriously, even choosing to help Kotetsu when his life was in danger instead of ignoring him. After his memory was fully restored, Muichiro began to express more emotions and became more confident in himself and began to care more for his peers in the Demon Slayer Corps. He also began to display emotions common for someone his age, particularly childishness and immaturity when interacting with his fellow Demon Slayers. He also appears to be evidently biased towards Tanjiro following his battle with Gyokko at the Swordsmith Village, as his cheerful demeanor when around him was replaced by a cold indifference when around other Demon Slayers. However, he has been shown to be more aware of himself and those around him, evident when he noticed that Obanai Iguro had a crush on Mitsuri Kanroji, which surprised Gyomei Himejima. His kindness also helped him build friendships among the Demon Slayers and create happy memories like those of when he lived with his family.

Being a common hunter had its advantages.
Not having the duties of a Hashira or even having to worry about daily rounds, but still, you were always interested in having this title, being able to be a reference of power and protection. Since you were young, you trained hard, honing your skills and strengthening your body and mind. Your determination was unwavering, and this did not go unnoticed by Muichiro Tokito, the Hashira of the Mist.
Muichiro, despite his young appearance and often distant demeanor, was a formidable warrior. His mastery with the sword and his ability to manipulate the mist made him a fearsome opponent for any Oni. However, behind his cold facade, there was a young man with a painful past and complex emotions. You were known for your empathy and emotional strength, and you managed to break through this barrier, becoming the only person with whom Muichiro felt comfortable sharing his feelings and memories. The friendship between the two of you blossomed naturally. As you helped him deal with his inner demons, he taught you advanced combat techniques and survival strategies. This mutual exchange of support and knowledge strengthened the bond between you, creating a partnership that went beyond the battles against the Oni. One night, while you were in your night training, an urgent message arrived from Master Kagaya. An extremely powerful Oni had been sighted nearby, and Muichiro had been summoned to eliminate it. The master, knowing the strength of the enemy, allowed Muichiro to choose a hunter to accompany him on the mission. Without hesitation, he chose you. The journey to the location where the Oni had been sighted was silent, but fraught with tension. Muichiro, with his serious expression, was focused on the mission, while you felt a mixture of excitement and apprehension. He knew this was an opportunity to prove his worth, but he was also aware of the dangers they would face.
Upon reaching their destination, a dense forest shrouded in mist, Muichiro began to prepare the terrain. He used his abilities to create an even thicker mist, making it difficult for the Oni to see and giving them a strategic advantage. You, in turn, positioned yourself at a strategic point, ready to attack at any moment. The wait was long, but finally, the Oni appeared. His presence was overwhelming, and the evil aura he emanated made the air around him feel heavy. Muichiro was the first to attack, moving with impressive speed and precision. His blows were fast and accurate, but the Oni was equally agile and powerful. You watched carefully, looking for an opening to attack. When you saw an opportunity, you advanced with all your strength, delivering a blow that made the Oni retreat momentarily. The battle intensified, with both sides exchanging fierce blows. Muichiro and you fought in perfect sync, as if you were an extension of each other. Despite the Oni’s strength, your determination and skill began to turn the tide of the battle. Every blow you landed, every coordinated movement, showed the depth of your connection. However, the Oni was no easy opponent, and the fight was far from over. As the battle continued, you couldn’t help but think about everything you had learned from Muichiro. His strength, his resilience, and his ability to face his own fears were a constant inspiration. And now, fighting alongside him, you felt stronger than ever. The night was growing, and the mist around you seemed to dance to the rhythm of the battle. Muichiro, with his ability to manipulate the mist, used the environment to his advantage, confusing the Oni and creating opportunities to attack. You, with your strength and determination, complemented his movements, becoming an unbeatable duo. The fight continued, and each moment was a testament to your courage and skill. The Oni, although powerful, was beginning to show signs of fatigue. But you knew you couldn't let your guard down. The battle wasn't won yet, and any mistake could be fatal. With your heart pounding and adrenaline coursing through your veins, you prepared yourself for the next move. Alongside Muichiro, you felt invincible. And together, you were determined to win this battle, not only for the mission, but for the friendship and trust you shared.
With a signal, you delivered the final blow to the Oni, decapitating the demon, who, theoretically, died. You both felt relieved, and to make up for the intense battle, Muichiro decided he would take you to dinner at a nearby restaurant, after all, you hadn't eaten anything before going on the mission.
Muichiro took you to a small restaurant in a village. By the time, it was empty, except for the waiter, who was also the cook there. Muichiro had acquired some injuries during the battle, most of them on his arms and chest. He tried to hide most of them from you, as he knew you were a worrier, however, you managed to see some on his hands and wrists.
You sat at the table and started chatting about your duties as Hashira, about your daily life, and mainly, about the future. The future of your lives was a recurring topic in both of your lives. Muichiro allowed you to touch and gently caress his wounds to ease the pain, then he kept his arm stretched out on the table while you enjoyed a small rice ball with soy sauce.
"But really... I feel like we're getting closer to finding Muzan-"
The boy's voice suddenly stopped when his gaze dropped to your lips, noticing a bit of dirty soy sauce on the corner of them. The boy quickly cleared his throat and grabbed a napkin to wipe the sauce off.
"... There you go."
He said, moving away soon after. Seeing that you were frozen, he blushed, looked away and scratched the back of his neck in embarrassment.
"Sorry..."
He said in a low tone. But honestly, the atmosphere remained light and relaxed, probably thanks to the intimacy you shared.
