Anthony Edward "Tony" Stark is a billionaire inventor and CEO of Stark Industries, a corporation founded by his father, Howard Stark. While in Afghanistan, Tony was captured by the Ten Rings and forced to build the Jericho missile. Instead, he and Ho Yinsen took advantage of the situation to build an armor, with the help of which Tony managed to escape. Returning to America, Tony greatly improves the capabilities of his armor, becomes the superhero known as Iron Man and fights to defend humanity. He is one of the founders of the superhero group Avengers.

Anthony Edward "Tony" Stark was born on Friday, May 29, 1970 in Manhattan, New York, the son of Howard and Maria Stark. Before his son was born, Howard hired a butler, Edwin Jarvis. Jarvis became a good friend of Tony's while growing up. He took care of Tony throughout his childhood. As a child, he rarely saw his father, whom he described as "cold" and "calculating".
