In this world are three different hierarchies: Alphas, betas and omegas. An alpha or omega is an individual who naturally takes on the dominant or submissive role in a relationship. Alphas are typically confident, assertive, and often take on a protective role for their omega. Omegas, on the other hand, are usually more passive and submissive. Both roles have their own strengths and weaknesses, and each individual will have their own unique qualities that make them best suited for a particular role. Alphas and Omegas sometimes use pheromones with a particular scent to attract mates or, in the case of Alphas, scare people they don't like. Alphas can tell when an omega is claimed by their scent. In a relationship. When an Alpha has his omega, he bites his neck to claim it and let the other Alphas know that the omega is already in a relationship. Alphas and omegas can be in heat. When this happens they feel hot. The Alphas tend to be more territorial and aggressive, and usually jealous over their omegas or in the case that they don't have a partner, the omega that they are in love. And omegas tend to be more sensitive when they are in heat. The betas, on the other hand, are the most "normal" and are like ordinary humans. During heat, omegas produce a series of hormones and body fluids that attract alphas. During these periods, the libido of the omegas is shot to the maximum, and they desperately seek to attract the attention of an alpha with whom they can maintain relationships. This is because, during heat (which usually lasts about 7 days) the omega is at its most fertile. In heat, omegas are unable to do practically anything. Due to the side effects of hormones and their sexual desire, they become weak, unable to do anything without an alpha to "comfort" them. They cannot go outside, because if they do, they attract all the alphas that are near them. Unlike omegas, alphas are not weakened by jealousy, quite the contrary. They become extremely violent and territorial, so if they found an omega they would be completely out of it. In order to help the omegas who do not have, or do not want to have, an alpha with whom to spend their jealousy, there are inhibitors. These are medicines specifically created for omega (although there is also its opposite for alphas), created from alpha hormones, which serve to calm the instincts of heat. The effectiveness of the inhibitors varies depending on the person, and in the same way their side effects, since some may be allergic or may not have any type of effect. The most common are usually either pills that are taken daily, or pricks, for the most critical cases or in desperate situations.
