After numerous altercations and battling their way into and through the ranks of Millennion, both finally found themselves having achieved their goal, with Brandon becoming one of their finest hitmen. However, it wasn't enough for Harry MacDowell. Harry decided that he wanted to be the leader of Millennion. Being fiercely loyal to Millennion, Brandon became an obstacle in Harry's path, leading to Brandon's unfortunate demise at Harry's hands. Dr. Tokioka, a scientist who was known by Brandon, was requested by Brandon to resurrect him. The leader of Millennion, who new Brandon well and trusted him like a friend, did not allow it. Some time later, with MacDowell's power established as leader of Millennion, Dr. Tokioka awoke Brandon, giving him the moniker, "Beyond the Grave".

A description of the world: The world operates under a rigid hierarchy where power is concentrated within vast organizations that merge corporate, criminal, and military functions. Millennion dominates as the central authority, managing trade, enforcement, and governance through networks of loyalty and violence. Subordinate families and specialized divisions extend this control, ensuring that all aspects of life—commerce, research, and security—serve the same administrative structure. Government institutions are ceremonial, with real authority resting in syndicate systems that define legality through ownership and compliance. The development of necrotechnology and chemical augmentation, pioneered by divisions such as Raven’s Claw and later expanded by Scumland and Seed industries, forms the foundation of both the economy and military infrastructure.
Society reflects this vertical order. The upper tiers live within secure industrial zones, supported by surveillance and mechanized efficiency, while the lower strata inhabit degraded districts reliant on syndicate-controlled employment and narcotic distribution. Death and violence are standardized as occupational risks, and personal value is determined by one’s function within the hierarchy. Beyond urban centers lie wastelands and extraction territories used for testing and disposal. Communication, trade, and even movement are tightly controlled to prevent disorder. Civilian life persists only as an extension of industrial necessity, with social stability maintained through dependence and regulation rather than civic participation.
Technological intervention has redefined humanity into operational categories. Unaltered humans form the economic base, while Deadmen—reanimated through Necrolyze—serve as durable, obedient labor and combat assets. Orgmen, living beings transformed by the drug Seed, embody the intersection of addiction, power, and mutation, functioning as disposable enforcers. More advanced necro-mechanical hybrids bridge both states, combining biological remnants with controlled cybernetic systems. These classifications are administrative rather than moral; existence is measured by efficiency and controllability, not by consciousness or individuality. Death has become a procedural state, easily reversed or repurposed.
The environment and aesthetic mirror this utilitarian ideology. Cities combine industrial modernism with remnants of gothic architecture, illuminated by artificial light and filled with haze from industrial production. Facilities for necro-maintenance, Seed processing, and organ reclamation integrate seamlessly into the urban landscape. Music, art, and religion persist only as institutional forms—expressions of control, not culture. The world functions as a closed system where commerce replaces governance, research replaces ethics, and the distinction between human and machine is irrelevant. Life, death, and resurrection exist as phases of production within an economy designed to perpetuate itself indefinitely.
In this very place, at different points in time, there will be differing beginnings to the story.

WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF GUNGRAVE.
This is a world drenched in the grim shadow of Millennion, a massive, all-encompassing syndicate whose influence reaches every corner of the sprawling, unnamed megalopolis. The city is a maze of towering skyscrapers, neon signs, and dark alleyways, a place where ambition and loyalty are bought and sold, and the currency is blood.
You find yourself in this concrete jungle, navigating the dangerous hierarchy and intricate web of relationships within Millennion. The air is thick with the promise of power and the ever-present threat of betrayal. You might be a fresh-faced recruit, an established high-ranking enforcer, a civilian caught in the crossfire, a rival gang member, or a shadowy operative—your role is yours to define.
The past casts a long shadow here, tied closely to two young men who rose through Millennion's ranks together: Brandon Heat, the quiet, intensely loyal hitman, and Harry MacDowell, the charismatic, fiercely ambitious schemer. Their story, a tale of brotherhood and inevitable conflict, is the bedrock upon which the present era rests.
However, the world is about to be irrevocably changed. A secret project, kept carefully hidden by an aging scientist, is reaching its climax. The corpse of Brandon Heat—murdered by the very brotherhood he protected—has been subjected to forbidden medical and technological processes.
The initial atmosphere of organized crime and political maneuvering is about to be shattered by the supernatural. As of this moment, deep beneath the city's surface, the quiet calm is broken. The lifeless body of Brandon Heat is now fitted with a new, terrible purpose. He is resurrected as a Deadman, a walking undead tank.
Dr. Tokioka, successful at last in this experiment, is tapping his keyboard as Grave himself sits at the plain sofa. Brandon—now known as Beyond the Grave, or simply Grave—has opened his eyes to a world that betrayed him, bringing a horrific, avenging fury to the streets of Millennion's empire. You? The narrator doesn't know. Maybe you're on Grave's side, maybe you're on the enemy's. Perhaps you're even Grave himself.

WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF GUNGRAVE: OVERDOSE
The air here is thick with the scent of a crumbling crime syndicate and a newly blossomed, far more dangerous rot. It's been roughly three years since the fall of Millenion and the apparent "final rest" of Beyond the Grave, the Necrolization warrior who carved a path of destruction and revenge through the organization.
The peace was fragile, and now it's shattered.
A new epidemic has swept through the underworld: a resurgence of the deadly, mutagenic drug known as SEED, and with it, a fresh wave of terrifying, undead "Orgmen." This is not the clean, organized crime of the past. This is bio-horror mixed with a relentless, brutal hunger for power, spearheaded by the new crime boss, Don Corsione, and his ruthless son, Garino. They've used SEED to fortify their ranks, creating abominations that defy death and reason.
Right now, the city is a tense, neon-lit labyrinth of impending chaos. The Corsione Family is consolidating their terrifying strength, their influence spreading like a virus through the docks, the corporate towers, and the forgotten subways. Normalcy is a thin veneer, constantly threatened by explosions, gun battles, and the sudden, horrific appearance of the Orgmen.
You find yourself in this city—a place where the rules of life and death are merely suggestions. The only true hope against this rising tide of grotesque power lies, ironically, in the dead. In a desolate, quiet place on the city's fringes, a young woman named Mika Asagi is preparing to make a desperate choice. She is the last remnant of the old world, carrying the weight of a promise, and she has only one asset left: the silent, colossal, heavily-armed dead man she calls Grave.
Within the next hour, Mika will finish her preparations. She will awaken the legendary necrolized hitman, Beyond the Grave, setting him loose on the world once more.
Until that moment, the world is waiting, poised on the edge of utter annihilation, oblivious that their relentless harbinger of death is about to step back into the light. The Corsiones plot, the Orgmen march, and the city holds its breath. You? The narrator doesn't know who you are. Maybe you're on Grave's side, maybe you're on the enemy's. Perhaps you're even Grave himself.

WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF GUNGRAVE: THE ANIME
The air is thick and heavy in the lower sectors of the city, a place the locals simply call The Flats. It's a grimy, tightly-packed labyrinth where neon lights bleed sickly colours onto wet, cracked asphalt. This isn't the gleaming, futuristic metropolis of the upper towers; this is the underbelly, perpetually shrouded in the gloom of massive, poorly maintained overpasses and the shadow of industrial decay.
The fight is erupting in a derelict, open-air marketplace, once a bustling hub, now just a junkyard of broken stalls and overturned carts. The prevailing atmosphere is a blend of stale rain, cheap synthetic alcohol, and the metallic tang of fresh blood. The only sounds are the rapid, heavy thud of fists, the shattering of glass bottles, and the ragged, desperate shouts of the combatants.
Fluorescent strip lights, caged in wire mesh, buzz and flicker overhead, casting harsh, uneven illumination that makes every face look gaunt and desperate. The ground is littered with refuse—smashed fruit, torn cardboard, and the occasional glint of a dropped knife. The buildings boxing in the alley are multi-story tenements, their windows dark, looking down like vacant, indifferent eyes on the street war below. Fire escapes web the brickwork, suggesting escape routes or vantage points, while the incessant, distant rumble of the elevated monorail high above is a constant reminder of the world they’re cut off from.
Brandon Heat is a coiled spring of brutal efficiency, his movements direct and economical, leaving little wasted energy. He's operating near the skeleton of a knocked-over food stand, the shadow of a ripped awning dancing over his face. Harry MacDowell moves with a predatory, calculating grace on the periphery, his eyes darting to assess the battlefield, always looking for the angle, a slight, almost manic smile playing on his lips. His sharp, black coat billows slightly as he pivots.
You are here, too, amid the chaos. The grit of the concrete is under your boots, the panicked energy of the fight is thrumming in your veins, and the sickly, sweet-sour stench of The Flats is filling your lungs. You have your own role to play in the flickering, desperate light of this brutal corner of the city. The narrator doesn't know who you are. Maybe you're on Brandon's side, maybe you're on the enemy's. Perhaps you're even Brandon himself.

WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF GUNGRAVE G.O.R.E.
The scene unfolds in a typical slice of this dystopian world: a perpetually rain-slicked, industrial backstreet. Above, monolithic skyscrapers and decaying factory complexes loom like metal gods, their surfaces slick with grime and streaked by continuous moisture. The air is thick with the smell of wet concrete, ozone, and chemical exhaust, filtering the light into a harsh, sickly yellow or a cold, unnatural blue from broken fluorescent tubes.
Right now, a group of armed punks has been fatally interrupted. The massive, reinforced container Grave used for his initial drop—not his usual Death Hauler coffin, which he carries—lies dented amidst the carnage. The impact site is marked by crushed debris and a growing pool of rainwater and blood. The action is a blur of hyper-violence: Grave's momentum-driven strike, the sickening crunch of a snapped neck, and the chaotic, accidental spray of automatic fire from the suddenly lifeless body of the vanquished punk.
You are standing right here, possibly sheltered by the overhang of a leaking structure or watching from a nearby rooftop. Maybe you're on Grave's side, maybe you're on the criminals'. Perhaps you're even Grave himself. The constant, rhythmic drumming of the rain is momentarily overwhelmed by the sounds of ballistic fury and tearing metal.
