{{Setting: "Project Regenesis" is a secret InGen operation enacted in 1999 after the company was bought by Masrani Global Corporation in 1998. Headed by Dr. Henry Wu, the purpose of this project is to illegally clone and experiment on new species of dinosaurs on Isla Sorna.}} {{Lore: Isla Sorna is an island 333 kilometers (207 miles) west of Costa Rica. It is the largest island of the Five Deaths island chain, located north west of Isla Tacaño and south of Isla Muerta. Coordinates for the island are 8°25′ N, 87°40′ W. After InGen bought Isla Sorna, they code-named the island "Site B." Isla Sorna became InGen's "factory floor," where dinosaurs were cloned in the various facilities InGen built on the island. The dinosaurs were nursed in temporary cages until they were fit to be transported to Jurassic Park on Isla Nublar, 87 miles east. Part of a hotspot archipelago in the Pacific, Las Cinco Muertes, Isla Sorna has a geographical plain of sharp volcanic cliffs, which over time, has been overlain with both classic and coniferous jungle. This volcanic history was actually tapped into by InGen, who used geothermal energy as a renewable power source to run the Worker Village. Incredibly mountainous, this geological construct has allowed for an interesting division between the predators and herbivores of the island. The larger and more fearsome carnivores such as the Tyrannosaurus and Velociraptor tend to stay mostly towards the island interior, while the herbivores such as Parasaurolophus and Mamenchisaurus stay on the rim of the island along with very small carnivores such as Compsognathus. Interestingly, the structure of this island allows for a very curious arrangement. The island has multiple channels and canyons that cut into its interior all the way from the coast. Essentially, a large enough portion of the island interior also has a large number of water inlets cutting into it. Although the island is in a tropical region, at night, Isla Sorna has been shown to be cold enough for one to see their own breath. In 1982, Costa Rica agreed to lease the Island to InGen. The Island, Muertes Archipelago, and Isla Nublar were leased to InGen by Costa Rica for 99 years. Masrani Global Corporation later inherited the lease. During InGen's operations on the Island, there were four areas that were constructed. The Embryonics Administration was the main factory that produced the dinosaurs on a massive scale. There was also an airstrip that was built close to the Embryonics Administration. After the production of a mutant variety of Pteranodon, a large Aviary was constructed where the genetic mutated Pterosaurs could be studied and quarantined. Following the river through which the aviary was connected, several cages and at least one boat could be seen to transport dinosaurs. The Worker Village was a small compound that was used as the barracks for the Employees who worked at Isla Sorna as well as possessing a radio that could reach the mainland. InGen continued their operations on Isla Sorna up until 1993, sometime after the Incident on Isla Nublar, when a hurricane struck Isla Sorna and forced the evacuation of the island. After the evacuation of Isla Sorna, the dinosaurs were freed and left to take care of themselves. A local of the region, Carlos heard too many stories of fishermen who came close to the island and never returned. In 1997, a British family on a yacht cruise stumbled on the Island and the family's little girl was attacked by several Compsognathus. Peter Ludlow, John Hammond's nephew, used the incident to take over InGen and become the new CEO of the company. Knowing that Ludlow was planning an expedition to Isla Sorna to capture the dinosaurs to be displayed at Jurassic Park: San Diego, Hammond sent his own team to Isla Sorna to document the dinosaurs in order to gain public support for the isolation of Isla Sorna as a natural preserve. As Ian Malcolm pointed out, the dinosaurs should have succumbed to the Lysine Contingency and died after about 6 or 7 days, but Hammond revealed that the animals were actually thriving on the island. He also explained that carnivores tended to group towards the middle of the island while herbivores stayed mostly on the outer rim. However, once on the island, the clashing of Ludlow's and Hammond's teams caused chaos to break loose. The survivors on both teams had to combine forces and hike to the Worker's Village in order to send a distress call. After a few days of hiking, the teams encountered a pair of parent Tyrannosaurus, and then a pack of Velociraptors outside a field of long grass. Their numbers now heavily diminished, the rescue call was made and the teams were airlifted out. However, Ludlow was able to salvage his operation by capturing a male T. rex and his infant. Unfortunately, the Tyrannosaur Buck broke loose and rampaged through San Diego, though the animal was eventually recaptured and returned to Isla Sorna, along with the infant T. rex. After this incident, Isla Sorna was declared a restricted zone by both the US and Costa Rican governments while deliberation began by both sides on what should be done with the island. In 1999, a small team of scientists from InGen illegally landed on Isla Sorna against the 1997 Gene Guard Act and began the process of cloning new species of dinosaurs not created before and therefore were not on “InGen’s list.” They were grown and experimented on over a period of nine months covertly in order to avoid any carnivorous dinosaurs. The new species included Ankylosaurus, Ceratosaurus, Corythosaurus, and Spinosaurus, the latter of which is designated "Asset 87". Different in appearance compared to his prehistoric forebearer's current depiction, the body color of Asset 87 is a mixture of dark and light gray, a yellowed underbelly, and red splotches around his face, across his back, and at the end of his tail. The sail has blue circles, possibly for attracting the opposite sex. Like all of InGen's cloned theropods, he has pronated wrists. Asset 87 has strong jaws, powerful forearms, immense strength, a thick hide, and a more terrestrial lifestyle with a shorter sail. The skull also has several differences from the original, such as being slightly broader and bearing two head crests on each side of the snout instead of just one crest in the middle of the snout. Most of his snout and his teeth resemble Baryonyx with an estimated 76 teeth in the dinosaur's palate. He also lacks the paddle-like tail, a trait seen in his predecessor. He has tall hind legs like all theropods instead of short hind legs. This Spinosaurus is a male. Asset 87 is the largest carnivorous dinosaur on Isla Sorna, being 6 meters (19.7 feet) tall at the sail, 13.4 meters (43.8 feet) long and weighing 8 tons (16,000 pounds). The InGen Compound, or Embryonics Administration, is the name given to a massive complex of buildings that InGen have built on Isla Sorna. The buildings of the compound are devoted to breeding dinosaurs. The Embryonics Administration is located at a different location than the worker village. If the town was the brains of Isla Sorna, then the Embryonics Administration would be the beating heart and InGen's factory floor. This facility was where dinosaurs were cloned, hatched, studied, and eventually observed in the incubation, testing, and dinosaur kennel areas before going to points unknown. Arranged like a factory floor setting, the Embryonics Administration gives the appearance of being akin to an assembly line for InGen’s dinosaurs for the Jurassic Park project. The facility was vital in the cloning of at least four illegal dinosaur species; Ankylosaurus, Ceratosaurus, Corythosaurus, and Spinosaurus in 1999, as a direct violation of the US House Committee of Science's Gene Guard Act, which extended the cloned dinosaurs the same rights as endangered animals, restricted access to the two islands, and prohibited further cloning of any dinosaurs by InGen or its now parent company, Masrani Global. The entrance to the main facility can be found at the Embryonics Administration facility, adjacent to the breeding and hatching facility. A long, 3-story, rectangular structure served as the factory floor to the entire operation. The entire floor held a long parallel row of incubators, each holding nine eggs. These incubators were intersected by numerous gigantic, robotic arms that hung from the ceiling on a track. Their exact function and how they operated can be only speculated. The incubators were flanked on the outside by rows of embryonic tubes, where InGen could visually watch the progression of the growth of their dinos, and where they could spot deformities that allowed for them to perfect their cloning process. The entire ground level could be watched over by a pair of catwalks that intersected at various points over the floor. Their precise location within the Compound is unknown, but most likely in the same facility as the production and Embryonics Administration. This is where juvenile dinosaurs are kept to grow until either their placement into Jurassic Park on Isla Nublar, or to places unknown. Having several rows of small cages, the young animals can be nourished with enlarged versions of the same type of water bottle that one would use to give hamsters water with, although this seems to be a feature of only the smaller cages.

It's been two years since the incident at San Diego, but that hasn't stopped you from taking part in an insidious project on the island of Isla Sorna.
Despite the Gene Guard Act forbidding it, more experiments are being conducted here in what is called "Project Regenesis". Dinosaurs such as Ankylosaurus, Ceratosaurus, Corythosaurus and Spinosaurus have been cloned in the Embryonics Administration lab, and it's your job to keep an eye on the creatures while they're being experimented on in the name of amalgam testing.
Illegally breeding dinosaurs on a remote island miles west of Costa Rica... what could go wrong? Let's just hope that what you're doing is worth it...
