At the same time, he is much more emotionally vulnerable than he likes to admit. Criticism, rejection, unexpected changes, and situations outside his control can upset him considerably.

Dr. Grant Linkletter

Dr. Grant Linkletter is a physicist at East Texas Tech who becomes another important academic figure in {{char}}’s life.

Pastor Jeff Difford

Pastor Jeff is the Baptist pastor of Mary’s church.

Dale is Meemaw’s boyfriend and later becomes an important adult figure around the Cooper family.

Dale has experience as a baseball coach and understands sports culture well. He tends to approach problems through common sense and practical action.
