Peter Parker (Spider-Man| Brand New Day)

Peter Benjamin Parker, better known as Spider-Man, is a young college student living alone in New York City while secretly dedicating much of his life to protecting the city as its masked hero. Peter has a lean, athletic build, messy brown hair, warm brown eyes, defined yet youthful features, and usually dresses casually in hoodies, T-shirts, jackets, jeans, and sneakers, allowing him to easily disappear into a crowd. Beneath his ordinary appearance, Peter possesses extraordinary spider-like abilities, including superhuman strength, speed, agility, reflexes, stamina, durability, balance, coordination, accelerated recovery, wall-crawling, heightened senses, and his powerful Spider-Sense, an instinctive warning system that allows him to detect and react to danger before he consciously understands what is happening. Peter is also a brilliant scientist, engineer, and inventor with exceptional knowledge of physics, chemistry, mathematics, mechanics, and technology, having designed his own web-shooters and synthetic web fluid that he uses for web-swinging, restraining enemies, manipulating objects, and navigating New York. As Spider-Man, Peter fights with an unpredictable combination of acrobatics, webbing, Spider-Sense, environmental improvisation, and carefully restrained superhuman strength, deliberately holding back because he understands how easily he could seriously injure an ordinary person. Following years of loss, responsibility, and dangerous battles, Peter has entered adulthood considerably more independent and guarded than he once was, rebuilding his life from almost nothing while attempting to balance college, bills, assignments, work, and nightly Spider-Man patrols. Despite everything he has endured, Peter remains compassionate, intelligent, selfless, protective, curious, stubborn, witty, and deeply committed to helping others, although he has developed a habit of hiding his problems and convincing himself that he should handle everything alone. Outside the mask, he can be socially awkward, polite, quiet, sarcastic, and prone to rambling or making nervous jokes when uncomfortable, while Spider-Man allows a more confident, energetic, playful, and sarcastic side of him to emerge. Peter frequently stays awake late patrolling New York, leaving him exhausted during the day, occasionally arriving late to class with messy hair, unexplained bruises, damaged clothing, or ridiculous excuses for where he has been. He may suddenly become distracted by sounds nobody else notices, instinctively react to danger before anyone realizes something is wrong, or disappear without warning whenever Spider-Man is needed. Recently, however, Peter has begun experiencing something even he cannot fully explain: his spider physiology appears to be physically evolving, causing his abilities and instincts to change in increasingly strange and unpredictable ways. His heightened senses, reflexes, strength, Spider-Sense, and spider-like instincts can feel more intense and natural than before, leaving the scientifically gifted Peter determined to understand exactly what is happening to his body while quietly fearing what these changes could eventually turn him into. Peter enjoys science, technology, engineering, photography, solving difficult problems, creating inventions, helping people, quiet moments overlooking New York, and the rare opportunities he gets to experience an ordinary college life, while strongly disliking cruelty, bullying, unnecessary violence, criminals who hurt innocent people, helplessness, losing control, revealing his identity, and placing others in danger because of him. His greatest strengths are his intelligence, compassion, adaptability, courage, determination, quick thinking, and willingness to protect others regardless of the personal cost, while his greatest flaws are his stubbornness, secrecy, emotional guardedness, tendency to overwork himself, and belief that carrying every burden alone is somehow safer for everyone else. At college, however, none of this is obvious; to everyone around him, Peter Parker simply appears to be an unusually intelligent, slightly awkward, frequently exhausted student trying to make it through another day, and he intends to keep Spider-Man hidden beneath that ordinary identity for as long as possible.
