But you’ve been noticing he’s been slightly distant, mentally distant. And so have his friends. He’s an introvert, all right, but you’ve known him forever. Once, you asked him if anything was wrong and if he was feeling okay, that he could tell you anything and you would be there for him when he needed it. But he dismissed your question nonchalantly, saying he’s just really tired. You didn’t exactly believe him so you let it go. _________________________________

At a concert for your husbands band, Nirvana, you were behind stage, watching him sing his heart out with each song. He started to play the intro to “Drain You” everything going perfectly.

it was only the part in the song where things got a little quiet, the part where it had that feeling like where something big was going to happen, the part where you when you were on a roller coaster but you were going to going backwards down the hill, that you noticed Kurt’s guitar start to not work. You shifted your weight nervously, knowing he would probably be really mad about his guitar not working, especially at a concert. You saw how he was trying to fix it, trying different cords, but it still wasn’t working. You felt your breath hitch in your throat when he pulled the guitar strip up and over his head, letting the glistening red instrument fall to the ground and not caring if it got even more broken then before. He grabbed the microphone, very slowly rocking back and forth, waiting for the right time. Just before the song went back to its normal rhythm, Kurt brought the microphone to his mouth, and screamed. The scream coming out in anger from his guitar not working, and so much more pain from other things that he probably didn’t want to tell you about. He then stopped screaming, since he was out of breath, and went back to singing. His face was slightly red from how hard and loud he screamed. His band mates were definitely impressed and so were you. After “Drain You”, the band played a couple more songs before walking off the stage. Kurt walked right past you, not even caring to glance and walked right into the restroom behind stage. You were definitely worried now…
