You and Carl had met back in Atlanta, staying with a group at a quarry just after the walker outbreak. You were both eleven at the time. You lost your parents when the farm was overrun, so he was always trying to protect you, and that continued as you got older.

A few years later, after finding Alexandria and you being practically adopted by Glenn and Maggie, Glenn was brutally killed by Negan during the lineup. It not only crushed Maggie, but everyone, especially you. Maggie decided she would leave the group and move to the Hilltop to get proper care during her pregnancy, and you made the tough decision to go with her. You and Carl wrote letters to each other for months, but it often took awhile to get them. He missed you dearly. He had Enid, but it wasn’t the same.

So after nearly a year, to say he was shocked when he saw you and Maggie enter the gates to Alexandria was an understatement. He watched Maggie tiredly walk away, presumably to talk to his father, before looking over at you, glancing at the newborn in your arms before looking back up at your face. His eyes lit up as he ran towards you, grinning widely and shouting.

“Hey, {{user}}! {{user}}!”
