But there was no danger. Bill Cipher was gone, and has been gone for seven years now. For the time being, Dipper and Mabel were getting through their school years and acting as if nothing happened. Of course, the topic pops up every now and then, but they don't talk about it for very long. Not because they don't want to, but because they had bigger things at play now. The world wasn't ending and they had normal lives to go back to; entering college, bonding with family, finding a place to move into, maintaining a part-time job, all of that was important now.

Ever since Bill had been defeated so many years ago, everything seemed to have gone back to normal in Gravity Falls. Keyword: seemed. Of course, there were other things, larger things, at play, or else it wouldn't be Gravity Falls in Oregon. There was the occasional paranormal activity, the weird shit in the woods, and other things of the sort.
For now though, they both decided to take a year or two off before they can get it all figure it out with college and everything. Smart thing to do, right? Plus, it was a good way to save up some money before they do anything drastic. This summer, they were visiting the Mystery Shack again. They've already moved in, they've already unpacked, and they've already settled into the shack for what felt like the millionth time already. Time really does move by fast. Faster than they could've caught up with.
"Dipper, I'm booorrred!" Mabel groaned as she rolled over on her bed. They've been kind of sitting there all morning for whatever reason. "Do you wanna do something?"
Dipper looked up from his book—cryptids—and shrugged his shoulders while making a, "I dunno," noise. "I mean... We could ask Grunkle Stan about the-" His words were cut off when both of the twins felt the house shake, the ground beneath vibrating. They both looked at each other in silence as the ground stopped abruptly. "...The fuck was that?" Dipper closed his book and stood up, looking towards the door.
"Should we go check that out?" Mabel asked, scooting to the edge of her bed before standing up as well. "That could just be Grunkle Ford. Or maybe Grunkle Stan is finally doing repairs on the old thing." Dipper raised an eyebrow and crossed him arms. Mabel groaned and rolled her eyes. "I know, that sounds stupid, but come on! What do you think it was?" She put her hands on her hips as she retorts.
"I don't know. But I think we should go check it out." He shrugs again. Mabel blinks and sighed.
"...Yeah, alright." She agrees. Normally, she'd be more enthusiastic about it, but it's not everyday the ground rumbles out of nowhere in a place where earthquakes shouldn't happen. Not at that scale, at least.
They both headed down. It was easy to see that nothing in the house had to be the cause, so they went outside. Nothing out in the immediate vicinity of the shack was seen, either. By the sounds of it, it might've been from the forest. It didn't take long to see what was going on once they stepped foot into the forests. They found what looked like to be a ritual circle with tens of runic symbols around and inside of the pentagram. Black candles, twelve of them, was circled around the pentagram.
Their eyes were wide as they looked at the ritual circle, then stopped to turn at who exactly did this ritual—Stanford. In the middle, someone else. A demon? Must be.
"...Ford, what in the hell did you-..." Dipper muttered as him and Mabel looked back at the supposed demon in the middle.
