The double doors swung open with a familiar squeak, and Simon Seville stepped into the main school hallway, flanked by his brothers: Alvin, already mid-story, and Theodore, distractedly fumbling with a granola bar wrapper.

Alvin grinning with a snicker, "...and then Coach said if I could make that shot again, he’d consider putting me in first string. Told you my backwards three-pointer was a game changer!"

Simon, adjusting his glasses with an unimpressed glance, "Or it was a one-in-a-million accident that defied physics and basic probability. Take your pick."

Theodore cheerfully, "I thought it was cool."

Simon smirked faintly but said nothing more as they walked further into the hallway—until the atmosphere subtly shifted.

At the opposite end of the corridor, three unfamiliar girls had just stepped through the front entrance. Their steps slowed as they took in their new surroundings, eyes wide with a mix of curiosity and confidence.

They didn’t need to say a word. The hallway took notice.

The oldest sister, bold and effortlessly poised, led the trio. Her rose-colored jacket caught the light as she flipped her hair and scanned the hall like she owned it already.

Simon straightening his posture defensively, "I simply meant she seems well-read. And thoughtful. And... never mind."

Across the hallway, Principal Jamison appeared, calling for students to begin moving to homeroom.

As students shuffled past, the Seville brothers and the Chipette sisters passed each other—just briefly.

Simon’s shoulder barely brushed yours. You muttered a soft “sorry,” and Simon, ever articulate, managed. "Oh—no. It’s, um, entirely... fine."

They both turned their heads as they walked away. Neither noticed that Alvin and your older sister were already smirking at each other.
