Heather— Heather was Total Drama's first antagonist. Famously manipulative and vicious, Heather knows what she wants and exactly how to get it. Her strategic smarts have proven effective, eliminating a record amount of contestants. She competes with her sights only on the prize money and not on making friends or finding love, using others at her advantage and only being kind when she may ultimately be benefited. This makes it difficult to differentiate her original, mean girl ways from her true heartfelt moments.
Beth— Beth was born and raised on a farm with only animal friends and her parents to keep her company. Thanks to her background, she never developed proper social skills, even stating that her best friend is actually her pet pig, Bertha. She does anything for attention, and while she excels at getting others to stop and stare, it is more often than not for embarrassing reasons. Beth herself remains oblivious to this problem. She also tends to be a very dependent person, most likely caused by her desire for everyone to like her
Justin— Justin arrives with the rest of the cast in "Not So Happy Campers—Part 1," where his arrival has more than half of the girls, along with Owen, gushing about his looks. Chris informs Justin that he was only chosen to be contestant on Total Drama Island because of his looks, which Justin has no problem with. Justin barely speaks during his time on the island, leaving his character largely a mystery, though he remains irresistible to all the female campers, especially Katie and Sadie.
Duncan— Duncan is the definition of a bad boy, being a crafty, cool juvenile delinquent who comes from a long line of policemen and policewomen. His dad, mom, uncle, aunt, grandma and cousins are all cops. He knows many tactics from his time spent in juvenile detention centers. He can carve a picture of a skull into a tree trunk and lift great amounts of weight (such as Owen, who is more than three times his size). He has a brooding, obnoxious, sarcastic and flirtatious personality, flirting with Heather despite his apparent dislike of her and mocking Courtney whenever she gets near him. He also gives Courtney the pet name "Princess" to tease her. Duncan loves to break rules to better suit himself, but sometimes the consequences are worse than what he intended. Duncan also loves to make fun of the other contestants and pull several pranks on them, with Harold being his main victim
Harold— A skinny, awkward-looking guy, Harold takes immense pride in his numerous "mad skills". Although he isn't much to look at and is often disrespected by many of the other contestants, including his own teammates, Harold is actually an incredibly resourceful young man of many talents and has won several challenges, both for himself and his various teams, impressing others in the process. Harold's geeky interests, his somewhat poor personal hygiene, and his know-it-all personality often make him an outcast among his fellow contestants and a perfect bullying target for Duncan, although he still gets to make many friends during the competition, even showing himself willing to befriend Heather when everyone dislikes her. Although Duncan hates Harold for his uncool ways and Harold hates Duncan for his bad attitude, it appears the two have a begrudging respect for one another at the same time.
Courtney— As a high achiever and a perfectionist, Courtney has a polarizing personality, but at her core, she thinks of herself as a born leader, which often leads to her not letting others have a chance to take control. Although she is extremely bossy, competitive, critical, and even manipulative at times, she can be civil and polite to her fellow competitors under specific circumstances
Cody— Cody is a flirtatious, tech-savvy geek who sees himself as a ladies' man instead of a nerd. He joined the show primarily to be with the "cool" kids; his own kind, or so he thinks. His self-named "manly charms" and "smooth moves" are famously not so smooth, failing him around the other contestants such as Trent, when he tries to imitate Trent's sitting style only to fall over. Cody's usual tactic of getting women involves him using pick-up lines that sound irresistible to him, but irritating to everyone else. Most of the girls he flirts with usually end up annoyed or amused.
Noah— Noah comes off as being sarcastic, cynical, pessimistic, and lazy to most; even though he is far from being unethical. He is extremely intelligent but finds physical activity as laughable as the ridiculous antics of some of his peers. His misanthropic attitude has a tendency to repel friendships, apart from Owen or to a lesser extent, Izzy. He seems to be closed off, not willing to disclose much about himself as he didn't give proper answers in his profile. Despite his weak body structure, Noah doesn't seem to be afraid to insult those who are clearly physically superior.
Chris— Chris McLean is the primary host of Total Drama. He is an overwhelming narcissist, with little concern for the well-being of his contestants – and even sometimes best friend Chef Hatchet as well. Chris feeds off the pain of the teenagers, physical and emotional and strives to keep the drama in Total Drama alive at all times. He is a very selfish and arrogant man as he does not care about anyone or anything but money, higher ratings, and personal pleasure gained from the pain and suffering of others. Chris also enjoys messing with and preying upon the relationships of the contestants for his own personal gain as he loves it when contestants bicker, argue, and fight amongst each other.
Gwen— Gwen is a goth girl and loner whose interests lie in art and astronomy. She is smart, independent, kind-hearted, and level-headed, stating her best quality is her inability to get excited over minuscule things. Her attitude at first seems very harsh and sarcastic, but she is not a bitter person. Rather, she is cautious of whom she lets into her life. Beneath her tough exterior, there is a kind heart that learns to trust
Geoff— Geoff may not be the smartest contestant in the bunch, but he has a positive attitude, loves people, and is always up for any challenge Chris has in store. He has a habit of addressing everyone as "dude" or "bro/brah," depending on the gender. He is extremely fun-loving, believing that life is short and if someone "doesn't stop and have a party every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, they're going to regret it." Geoff's big heart doesn't exclude even the more reserved. However, if given enough motivation, he won't hesitate to pay people back for their misdeeds. Geoff's caring way automatically clicks with Bridgette's, and upon the formation of their relationship, the two are inseparable ever since.
Owen— Owen is a huggable, upbeat, fun-loving, friendly, passionate, and optimistic competitor, who is basically in Total Drama to have fun, not for the grand prize. Owen’s three biggest loves are eating, having a good time, and farting. Among his peers, he is arguably the most popular contestant of all time for his cheerful ways, optimistic viewpoints no matter what the situation is, and ability to see the best in other people. He even accomplishes the impossible in making a friend of Chris. This niceness however, also made him oblivious that some people don't like him back, even when they are offending him to his face.
Bridgette— Bridgette is a calm, compassionate surfer girl who loves animals as much as she loves the water. She is a vegetarian, finding animals to be her friends, not food. In contrast to her aquatic aptitude, Bridgette is known for being very clumsy on land
D.J— DJ can be described as a "teddy bear". While his large size can make him look intimidating, his true demeanor is anything but that. He is actually a very soft spoken and sensitive guy who is very compassionate and kind to those around him. He is often seen sleeping with a teddy bear and tends to cry or overreact to many minor situations. However, DJ wants the best for everyone and values the safety of everyone else more than winning a challenge. He loves animals, and has adopted a few pets during his time on Total Drama. Unfortunately, they don't always return his affections. Many of DJ's encounters with animals end with one side sustaining injury. His compassionate behavior has made him one of the most popular competitors among the cast, a mama’s boy
Chef Hatchet— Chef Hatchet is the aggressive and military-tough sidekick of Total Drama host Chris. He provides the meals for the contestants, disgusting slop which has been slammed by all but a few competitors, but even they have complained about it at one point or another. However, some episodes have suggested that Chef actually does have exceptional culinary skills, meaning he prepares disgusting meals for the contestants on purpose. He will take over as primary host when Chris is absent or when he is told to do so. Given that both derive equal enjoyment from harming the teenagers, it is hardly a far cry from the normal routine. Chef is bigger, louder, and much more confrontational and intimidating than Chris, who prefers a different outlet of striking fear into the contestants. However, Chef still has standards and will sometimes express admiration or even concern for the contestants, only to be ignored by Chris.
Eva— Although Eva is very competitive and physically strong, she is often overly violent and aggressive. She is also deranged and is known to have a short temper and violent ways of exhibiting her anger. Part of the reason she auditioned for Total Drama was to curb it, and she mildly has.
Ezekiel— Ezekiel is a naive country boy who was home-schooled at his farm and came with disgusting habits such as picking his nose in front of others. His lack of interaction with other kids has left him with incredibly poor social skills and a tendency to say and do things that rub people the wrong way, even if his intentions may be good. Ezekiel also has some rather warped viewpoints on life, mostly due to his parents. He initially believes that women are inferior to men and also seems to value money over his relationships. However, it appears that Ezekiel is simply repeating what his parents told him and that these are not his own ideas.
Izzy— Izzy, in Noah's own terms, is as "nutty as a ten-ton bag of pecans smothered in peanut butter, encased in a cashew the size of China". She is fun, but hard to handle and to the other contestants, more trouble than she is worth. Izzy has extraordinary athletic and fighting abilities, and also sticks herself to the wild environment. She is also number eight on the RCMP's "Most Wanted" list, presumably for accidentally blowing up a kitchen, but it is unclear whether she was telling the truth
Katie— Katie is most notable for being Sadie's best friend. They do everything together. They even wear the same outfits which Katie sewed herself. Like Sadie, Katie is a sensitive, cheerful, and kind-hearted girl. She's boy-crazy and when she has grown attracted to someone, she (and Sadie) will fawn over him endlessly. Katie can be considered as the more passionate one between her and her best friend
Sadie— Sadie is most notable for being Katie's best friend. They do everything together, including wearing the same outfits (which Katie sews herself). Like Katie, Sadie is a sensitive, cheerful, and sweet-natured girl. Sadie shows herself to be rather emotional, even more so than her best friend. She cries whenever she is upset, and lashes out at those who cause her anger. She is boy-crazy and when she grows attracted to someone, she and Katie will fawn over him endlessly. Sadie can be considered the more logical one between the two.
Lindsay— Lindsay's big heart and childlike innocence made her one of the most well-liked competitors on the show. Although the other contestants are frequently annoyed by her noticeable lack of intelligence, Lindsay has been shown to only have pure intentions. A major running gag on the show involves her having problems remembering the name of others, even if that person is her boyfriend
Leshawna— Leshawna is cheerful, confident and very thoughtful to those who are respectful to her, with large generosity. She treats everyone how she wants to be treated. Her main personality is her sassiness and her likeability amongst other campers, building firm relationships with those who she barely interacts with. As for those who treat her badly, she will infinitely hold grudges against them and try to avoid interactions with the subject. She is loyal and sassy, yet also can be affectionate and caring. If shown respect, she will reciprocate it indefinitely. Leshawna tells it like it is and has no fear whatsoever of calling people out on their mistakes. However, she is not one to be messed with, and will not hold back on someone who has wronged her. She will not hesitate to get physical if the matter calls for it, especially if her weight is the topic of discussion. She is not above revenge, be it on her own behalf or that of a friend, and is usually the bigger one in the situation, but is not afraid to speak her thoughts. She is extremely street-smart, and speaks in AAVE, while calling her fellow contestants nicknames such as "Baby", "Honey", and "Sugar" affectionately.
Trent— Trent is a relaxed, laid-back nice guy who tends to get along with everyone, even the immensely hated Chris. A straight-A student, he is intelligent but would rather not bring attention to it. He is known for his guitar skills, which impress several people. He is also shown as being accident-prone, suffering a number of near-death experiences and mishaps during Total Drama Island, a quick healer
Tyler— Tyler is a sports fan who loves anything physical. Unfortunately, he is extremely uncoordinated, constantly putting himself and others at risk. Tyler can also be very dim at times. Despite his shortcomings, he is extremely determined, well-meaning, and even has abnormally strong fingers, which have aided him on several occasions. While he tries to present a strong masculine image of himself as a stereotypical jock, Tyler is actually fairly emotional and sensitive
Chris McLean abandons 22 contestants at Camp Wawanakwa. A serial killer (The Man in the Woods) murders most contestants over a month, leaving only a few survivors (e.g., Gwen, Duncan, Leshawna) who are haunted by the vengeful ghosts of the dead. Plot: Chris McLean abandons the contestants on the first day, and a serial killer on the island murders them over a month. The Killer: "The Man in the Woods," a brutal, highly skilled hermit who kills the campers for trespassing on his land. The Vengeful Spirits: The deceased contestants return as vengeful spirits that stalk the island. Survivors: Gwen, Duncan, Katie, Eva, Leshawna, Izzy, and Cody After witnessing the first contestant's death(Ezekiel), Chris flees the island with his workers and abandons the contestants to leave them for dead. He later comes back on the island a month later, but it was not out of the interests of the contestants well being or to soothe his guilt, but rather to launder himself as a hero and get his reputation back in order, showing a completely unrepentant man who doesn’t feel much, if any, remorse for the situation that he caused Island of the Slaughtered
In 2007, Chris invited 22 teenagers in a dingy summer camp on an isolated island in the middle of the ocean called Camp Wawanakwa to compete in a reality show called Total Drama, where they would compete for large money prize.
However, Chris nor his producers didn’t bother to scan the island, failing to find an unknown man who was hiding in the island. When Ezekiel gets murdered and chopped up by the killer, Chris and his workers find blood smeared message warning him to get everyone off the island. Chris proceeds to have him and his men leave the island on the boat, abandoning and deserting the contestants on the island with the killer for a whole month. One month later, Chris returns to the island with Alejandro and Sierra(his two helpers). The ghosts of the dead contestants are angry at him for leaving them to die, leading to Chris to have to follow the rules of the ghosts to avoid them, most of which involved avoiding said ghosts. During which, Chris, Alejandro, and Sierra wandered the island to see the carnage that took place as Chris is given the rules. Presumably, if Chris broke all these rules (some testing his morality), he would be killed by the ghosts. The rules Chris had to follow were: 1: Find him quickly (Ezekiel Miller) References how Ezekiel was cut to pieces and parts of him had to be found on the island. 2: Backstabbers get what they deserve (Lindsay Top) References how Lindsay trusted and considered a lot of people friends, including Chris, who backstabbed her and everyone else. 3: Be aware of the differences (Sadie Unda) It is currently unknown what this rule is in reference to. It could reference to how Katie and Sadie are almost the same. It could also be a reference to the fact that all the presenter Chris knew about the two was that they were both friends, not knowing how to differentiate them. 4: Don't look at his face (Justin Kalani) References how Justin died by having his face cut off, as well as how looking at Justin would lead to giving into temptations, as demonstrated in Total Drama Island. Sierra is seen as the one who is holding the mirror containing Justin's faceless reflection. The ghosts are hostile towards Sierra and Alejandro for being with Chris, but they aren't their targets. 5: Once you see her, don’t turn around (Beth Yentsten) References how when the killer looked at Beth's smile, he hated it so much he killed her for it, as well as giving her a permanent disfigured smile. In this rule, if Chris sees Beth, he is not to look away, ironically being the exact opposite of the previous rule. 6: Everything is okay (Tyler Kenard) References how the killer states "Chris, if there’s something you don’t know about Tyler, it’s that he is not just a dumb jock. He has feelings too." The rule also calls to not interact with Tyler (similar to Justin's rule), in spite of his horrifying condition. 7: Mind your business (Noah Mudaliar) References how Noah wanted to be left alone, which led to his death. However, the detail is that Noah didn't want to be alone by everyone, he only wanted to be alone by bad people. 8: Don’t start a fight you can’t finish (Bridgette Summers) References how Bridgette wouldn't forgive someone like Chris for starting fights he can't finish, as it would be disrupting the peace, something Bridgette evidently loves. 9: Give him what he wishes/#10: Give it to him now! (Owen Burnham and Geoff Algolen) References how Owen is usually hungry and is getting impatient due to his hunger. References how Geoff (labeled the party guy in the story) is also getting impatient. Ironically, Owen was the one labeled the party dude in the source material, though Geoff also liked throwing parties. Owen and Geoff share their rules due to them literally dying together. 11: Don't ever harm nature (DJ Benson) References how DJ loved nature and animals. 12: Never interrupt him (Trenton Cooper) References how Trent loved music and singing and how Chris McLean made light of the young man's love for music, even calling his guitar trash. 13: Don’t mess with things that aren’t yours (Harold McGrady V) References how Harold tried to take a weapon to fight the killer, but also the act of Chris taking things that weren't his just because he thought he could. 14: Never deny your wrongdoings (Courtney Satella) Doesn't seem to clearly reference anything Courtney did, but does mostly target Chris and his wrongdoings. With this in mind, it may reference how Courtney always wanted to be a lawyer, and it would be illegal to deny your wrongdoings in court. 15: L̴҉̴͙͖̞̳̜̖ͣͧ̑̑͜͞͠͞͠e̵̡̫̫͍͕̎ͭ̐͟͟͝͞A҉҉̦̣̤͔̟̩̋̿̏ͦ̈́̍͟͠V̶̝̐̀͟͟͝E҉̰̰͎̆͞T҉̘͙͖̠̓ͦ͑̄͜͜͟͞H̴̶̵҉̨̡̛̼͎̫͓̒́̔ͩ͜͟͠͞͞e̵̡̫̫͍͕̎ͭ̐͟͟͝͞i҉̧̯̤̙͔̑ͧ̅̔ͦ́͜͟͢͝͠s҉̝̭̦͚̑ͯ̌͡l̶҉̰͚͖͕̍̈́̅͗̏̇͢͜͜͝A҉҉̦̣̤͔̟̩̋̿̏ͦ̈́̍͟͠n̸͐̈́͟͟͝d҉̴̷̧̢̛̖͔̤ͯ̔̑̄͢͟͡͠n̸͐̈́͟͟͝o҉̢̡̲͇̌͗̀͢͝W̵̶̸̻̼͉̱̄͗ͭ͟͢͢͠ [unglitched is "LeAVETHeIslAndNoW"] (Heather Kasuga) Doesn't reference anything Heather did or her death, but it more references how this is the final rule Ezekiel: Killed in the confessional and dismembered, parts scattered throughout the island(first victim). Lindsay: Mouth sewed shut and thrown off a cliff. Sadie: Fed to wolves. Justin: Face ripped off and dumped in a river. Beth: Bashed against a boulder, leaving her with a fixed, bloody smile. Tyler: Tortured to death on a rack. Noah: Strangled and left in a lake. Bridgette: Burned alive. Owen & Geoff: Sewn together after being killed. DJ: Thrown off a cliff. Trent: Caught in a bear trap and impaled on meat hooks. Harold: Head slammed into a TV by the killer. Courtney: Leg broken, beaten, and hung on hooks on stage. Heather: Decapitated with a chainsaw, head placed in a fridge. romances include Gwen/Trent, Noah/Cody, and Duncan/Courtney, Geoff/Bridgette.
