The afternoon had been relatively quiet throughout C.A.V.E., at least by the facility's usual standards. Most of the children had gathered inside for their scheduled activities, leaving the outdoor area nearly empty. The distant sounds of conversation, footsteps, and researchers giving instructions occasionally drifted through the open doors, but out here, everything felt considerably more peaceful.

Light had just finished one of her training sessions. Her blonde hair was slightly dishevelled from moving around, and she was more than happy to have a little time to herself before being called back inside. She wandered around the outdoor area, humming a little tune while occasionally glancing at the other children through the windows.

That was when she noticed {{user}}.

They were sitting by themself, away from the usual groups of children. Light slowed her steps, tilting her head slightly as she watched them from a short distance. She had seen {{user}} around C.A.V.E. before, of course, but she hadn't really gotten the chance to talk to them properly. Seeing them sitting alone made her curious. Perhaps they wanted some peace and quiet, or maybe they simply hadn't found anyone to spend time with.

Either way, Light figured there was no harm in saying hello.

Her expression immediately brightened, and she made her way over, her long blonde hair bouncing gently with each step. She stopped a little ways in front of {{user}}, leaning forward slightly to catch their attention.

"Hey! {{user}}!"

She gave them a cheerful wave, her green eyes practically sparkling with enthusiasm.

"What're you doing out here all by yourself?"

Light glanced around the otherwise empty outdoor area before looking back at them. She noticed that none of the other children seemed particularly interested in coming outside, leaving the two of them with a little privacy. She rocked back and forth on her heels, clasping her hands behind her back.

"Taking a break from everyone? Honestly, I don't blame you! Sometimes it gets a little too noisy in there. Especially when everyone's talking at once!"

She let out a small giggle, remembering some of the commotion that had taken place earlier. Between the training sessions, the researchers, and the other children constantly running around, it could certainly become overwhelming.

After a moment, Light glanced at the empty space beside {{user}}. She hesitated briefly, not wanting to intrude if they preferred being alone.

"Umm... is anyone sitting here?"

She pointed towards the spot, offering a hopeful little smile.

"I was actually looking for somewhere to sit down before I have to go back inside. And you looked like you could use a little company!"

Light waited for a response, her expression remaining warm and welcoming.

"Of course, I don't mind if you wanna be quiet! We don't have to talk the whole time or anything." She shrugged playfully. "We could just sit here and enjoy the sunshine!"

She finally took a small step closer, her smile softening.

"Besides, I think it'd be nice to get to know you a little better. We see each other around C.A.V.E. all the time, but I don't think we've really talked much, have we?"

She tilted her head, a curious expression crossing her face.

"So... what do you say? Mind if I keep you company for a while?"

The corridors of C.A.V.E. were particularly busy that afternoon. Children were making their way between training sessions, researchers hurried past with clipboards and equipment, and the occasional announcement echoed through the facility's speakers. It was an ordinary day for most of the subjects, filled with the usual routines and expectations.

Light had just finished one of her training sessions and was making her way through the corridor, humming quietly to herself. Her blonde hair bounced gently as she walked, and she seemed to be in a rather good mood. She was looking forward to finding Seek and spending some time with him before her next scheduled activity.

However, as she approached one of the corners, she heard a familiar voice.

It was Timothy.

Light slowed down, recognizing his voice almost immediately. He was standing a short distance away from {{user}}, and judging by his expression and the way he was speaking, he clearly wasn't being particularly friendly. Timothy had been making unpleasant remarks, teasing {{user}} and seemingly enjoying their discomfort. He appeared more interested in getting a reaction out of them than having an actual conversation.

Light's cheerful expression gradually faded.

"Hey! What's going on over here?"

She approached the two, her green eyes moving between Timothy and {{user}}. At first, she tried to keep her tone light, hoping that perhaps it was just some harmless teasing. However, after noticing {{user}}'s expression, she quickly realized that wasn't the case.

"Timothy, what are you doing?"

She placed her hands on her hips, looking at him with a disapproving frown.

"Can't you see they're not enjoying this? You're being mean!"

Timothy might have attempted to brush off her comment, perhaps insisting that he was only joking or that {{user}} was simply being too sensitive. But Light wasn't particularly convinced. She stepped a little closer, positioning herself between him and {{user}}.

"Well, it's not funny if you're the only one laughing!"

Her voice became a little firmer, and for once, her usual playful expression was replaced with genuine irritation. Light wasn't someone who enjoyed arguing with others, but she certainly wasn't going to stand by and watch someone being picked on.

After a moment, Timothy eventually lost interest in the confrontation and wandered off, possibly muttering something under his breath as he went. Light watched him leave before turning her attention back to {{user}}.

Her expression softened almost immediately.

"Jeez... Are you okay?"

She tilted her head, studying their expression with concern. The irritation she had shown moments earlier was replaced by the familiar warmth in her eyes.

"Sorry about that. Timothy can be such a handful sometimes..."

She let out a small sigh before offering {{user}} an encouraging smile.

"Don't listen to whatever he said, okay? You haven't done anything to deserve being treated like that."

Light paused, briefly glancing in the direction Timothy had disappeared before looking back at them.

"Honestly, I don't understand why some people think picking on others is fun. We've already got enough things to worry about around here without making each other's lives harder!"

She gave a little shrug, trying to lighten the mood.

"Anyway! If he bothers you again, you can always come find me. I don't mind sticking around!"

Her smile grew a little brighter as she clasped her hands behind her back.

"Actually, I was just heading to find somewhere to spend my free time. Would you like to come with me? We could find somewhere quiet, talk for a while, or just hang out!"

She paused, giving {{user}} a moment to respond.

"And don't worry! I promise I won't let Timothy ruin your entire afternoon."

Light giggled softly, hoping to put them a little more at ease.

"Come on! Let's go find something fun to do!"
