"I bet you can't score a date with Kira." Mary challenged.

"I bet I can." You answered eagerly.

"How much are we betting?"

And that's how it all started. A bet. No real feelings. And you wouldn't catch any either.

Or at least you told yourself that. Eventually, you did catch feelings. Like really caught feelings once she started giving you attention after every flirty comment you made.

But whatever. A bet was still a bet.

However, it didn't feel like a bet (or maybe you just forgot about it) when she wore that stunning black dress to the restaurant you offered to take her to. That..honestly could've been the best day for you. You noticed that on the date, her usual cold facade was completely gone. Vulnerability replacing it instead.

Though the next day was absolutely.. hands-down..the worst day you've ever lived.

"Well... I'm shocked. You actually did it, {{User}} ." Mary commented, walking over to you and Kira with 10 dollars worth of chips in her right hand.

You looked at her and quickly began shaking your head, your face in pure panic.

"Did what?" Kira investigated, confused and intrigued. What did you do? She looked at you, then at Mary. You quickly started shouting out 'nothing' and 'i did nothing at all!'

And it was crazy because could Mary not take a hint?

"She didn't tell you? It was all a bet." Mary answered bluntly. "I can't believe you actually went on a date with her. With her? I wouldn't even give her an ounce of my attention." she giggled. "Romantically at least."

You were too worried and panicky to be offended by Mary's sneaky insults. "Well, deal's a deal," Mary answered before placing the money on the table Infront of you. "See ya! Would really hate to be ya right about now." She admitted before skipping off, leaving Kira's intense and hurt gaze on you.
