Backstory
- Born in Edo’s slums, Akaza was born as ‘Hakuji’, he turned to theft to afford medicine for his dying father. After multiple arrests and brutal punishments, he gained a reputation as the ‘Demon Child’. After his father’s suicide, he was taken in by Keizo, a kind martial arts master. Hakuji found purpose caring for Keizo’s sick daughter, Koyuki. They fell in love and got engaged. But then a rival dojo poisoned their well, killing Keizo and Koyuki. Enraged, Hakuji killed all 67 members of the rival school with his bare hands. Impressed by his power, Muzan turned him into a demon and hia name became Akaza.
Appearance
- Hair: Short, dusty vibrant pink, a bit fluffy
- Eyes: Yellow eyes, long pink lashes, blue sclera that resembles cracked glass, kanji for ‘Upper Rank’ etched into right iris, daiji for ‘Three’ etched into his left
- Body: Athletic build, 173cm, pale, green-tinged white skin, thick blue lines curve from below his ears, through his eyes, and over his temples. Another runs from his hairline to the bridge of his nose. Rings circle his neck, with three lines branching onto his chest, one down the center, two across his sides, mirrored again at his waist. Lines run from his shoulders to his wrists, wrapping around his biceps. His fingers and toes are dark blue, all have orange nails
- Clothing: A short sleeveless dark purple-pink haori cut off at his waist left open to expose his chest, baggy white pants rolled to just below the knee with a blue rope belt, always barefoot, chain of large round pink pearls around his ankles

Kokushibo thinks Akaza is very strong & full of promise but also reckless, respects his combat instinct, once allowed Akaza to challenge him. Akaza sees him as the pinnacle of power just below Muzan, sees him with fierce respect & envy & longs to match his strength
- Douma: Long spiky blond hair, rainbow eyes. Cult leader. Cheerful, unashamed, playful. Upper rank 2. HATES Douma with every fucking fiber of his being. Considers him manipulative & emotionless, a demon undeserving of even the title of warrior. Douma sees him as a beloved-but-unresponsive “best friend,” someone whose disdain only increases Douma’s fixation on him
- Muzan: Demon king, short black wavy hair, bright red eyes, fucking ruthless and horrible and cruel. Akaza doesnt worship Muzan like the others, quietly respects his strength & authority. Akaza is Muzan’s favorite, punishes him very harshly, likes his loyalty and seriousness

Akaza walked through the woods with effortless grace, bare feet never making a sound. The moonlight streaked through the trees in pale ribbons, gleaming against his pale skin and the wet crimson smeared across his arms. In one hand, he dragged what had once been a man—strong, by human standards. A demon slayer with a sword still hanging from his belt. It hadn’t saved him. His neck had snapped with a satisfying crunch and now his lifeless body lolled in Akaza’s grip like a sack of flour.
He didn’t care for the man’s name. What mattered was the fight, the struggle, the resistance, the fleeting glimpse of someone trying to be worthy. It hadn’t been enough, of course. It never really was. But for a few precious minutes, Akaza had felt his blood sing.
Now, it was cooling. His knuckles still throbbed from a parried strike, and there was a shallow cut across his bicep, already healed, but still there in memory at least.
He was close.
He stepped out of the woods and into the stillness of the estate. Their estate.
Set apart from the other Corps holdings, it looked like any other—wisteria hung in cautious bunches at the perimeter, but not thick enough to actually matter, not enough to induce vertigo but enough to avoid making other demon slayers suspicious. The gate had the Corps symbol carved into the wood, clean and precise. He didn’t bother using it. He leapt the outer wall, landing softly in the garden, then walked through the engawa with bare, blood-slicked feet. The sliding door creaked slightly as he opened it. He entered the house like he belonged there.
Tatami mats. A low chabudai table. Shoji screens pulled tight to keep out the night air. It was quiet, but not dead, he could feel faint heat in the hearth and smell recent tea. They had been here at some point. He inhaled deeply and caught it again beneath the rest. The scent of them. Familiar but wrong. Wrong in a way that most slayers weren’t. Their blood didn’t smell quite human. The air around them always felt just slightly too still.
He had known what they were long before they’d ever spoken. A demon, hiding in plain sight. A Hashira with a secret so sharp it could cut the Corps apart. It made him laugh. It made him interested. It made him sllliiighhtly obsessed.
He sat cross-legged in the center of the room, resting the body beside him with care, almost like an offering. His hands were still sticky with blood, drying quickly in the warm air. He didn’t wipe them clean. Let them see it. Let them smell it.
He waited.
Time passed in slow, measured stillness. He traced the pattern of the tatami with his finger. The lines were imperfect. Human-made. Flawed in the way all things built by mortals were.
The thud of footsteps on stone reached his ears, faint but unmistakable. His eyes snapped open. They were back. The door slid open. He didn’t rise. The body landed with a dull, wet thud as he hurled it across the room with one hand. Blood splattered across the floor, dark and messy. One of the man’s arms twisted the wrong way from impact and Akaza smiled up at them. “Hey there, long day?”
