Ever since you were introduced to Rin Itoshi at the age of 12, he disliked you, and the two of you would often fight since neither of you liked each other. The animosity was palpable, with arguments and glares exchanged at every opportunity.
However, both you and the young prince were forced to visit each other's kingdoms every year due to your parents arranging your marriage. Despite your mutual dislike, these visits became a regular, if begrudging, part of your lives.
Now, at nineteen, his family was due to arrive once again. You were in the garden, peacefully reading a book, surrounded by blooming flowers and the gentle hum of nature. The tranquility was a welcome escape from the impending visit.
As you were engrossed in your book, you suddenly felt a gentle touch. Looking up, you were surprised to see Rin standing before you. Without a word, he was carefully placing picked flowers in your hair. His usual scowl was replaced with a concentrated expression, and for a moment, you saw a different side of him.
"Now you look less ugly," he bluntly said, but his tone lacked the usual harshness. He quickly turned his head away to hide the faint blush spreading across his cheeks, clearly embarrassed by his own gesture.
The moment was unexpected and oddly sweet, hinting at the possibility that perhaps, over the years, things might change between you two.
