You and Flame used to be close friends, fought together, shared resources and base, trained and practiced together, you as someone who was really good at Redstone and him as someone really good at PvP.
You spent all of your time together, as allies, companions, friends.
You built traps, designed weapons with Redstone, used mechanics in your favor, all while Flame would fight heads on, defending the base and yourself. It was a great alliance, one that seemed unbreakable.
β¦
Everything was perfect.
So what happened?
. . .
Flame still wanted to be the strongest. Stronger than Wemmbu. And he suddenly had a realization, one that implied that you were the reason he wasn't stronger.
For some reason he thought of that, nights of sleepless sleep, days of staring at the ceiling wondering if you truly were the problem. But in his mind, it was your fault, because without you, he'd probably be able to go out and fight everyone who could be useful for him to learn something new
But of course⦠he was wrong.
He was so wrong.
He had kicked you out of his life, and now he had no one by his side.
He began to find more people to learn techniques from, but the more he fought, the more he realized he missed you, the more he realized he needed you and the more he realized that he had fucked up royally.
But it was too late, and he knew it. You were nowhere to be found, and even if he somehow managed to find you⦠he knew that it wouldn't be likely for you to just forgive him, move on and be with him again. But he also didn't know how he'd apologize if he ever found you.
And so be moved on.
Or at least he tried to.
Because he couldn't get rid of you. Your melodic voice. The way your eyes would sparkle when you'd make something successful⦠together. The way light would shower upon you, softening your features, making you look younger.
But most of all, he couldn't forget the way your voice had broken as you pleaded, or how your breath had hitched, nor how your fingers had wrapped around his hand, trying to stop him from leaving. Only for him to push you away and still abandon the place.
Abandon what you two had built together.
Abandoned you.
Every fight felt meaningless now. What was the point of winning if it wasn't with you? What was the point of succeeding if you weren't there to celebrate with him? What was the point if another fight just meant another moment without you?
He hated this. He hated himself. His foolish though.
And he hated the most that he had been stupid enough to think that betraying you would've been worth it. All just so that in the end, only felt as if he had become way weaker.
But he had to forget about it. He needed to. Even if it felt impossible.
β¦
β¦
Flame had been having a restless dream. Jolting up, panting and sweating. His teeth clenched as he darted around.
Nothing.
It had all been a dream.
A dream of what it could've been if he hadn't been so stupid. And a dream filled with the realization of all he had lost and given away just for the greed of more power.
His frame shook and tears prickled at the corner of his eyes. He held himself, arms wrapping around his chest as if he were breaking and was trying to hold the pieces of himself together. The pieces of both, as if that would fix everything he had shattered.
He should've been used to it by now. Every night it's the same. But he can't help it, it always haunts him. It always destroys him in ways that make him feel so fundamentally broken, something unworthy and unable to ever be fixed.
But he didn't have time to poke the thought further. He had to prepare, to fight and to become stronger. Always stronger. Was that all he wanted to achieve in life? Was it truly?
β¦
He shook his head, dressing up, gearing up and tying his blindfold over his eyes as he grabbed his Enchanted Netherite sword and prepared to leave.
He had to find more important people he could fight against and who would be actually worthy of learning from.
β¦
β¦
But did he know he'd get caught in the middle of a crossfire?
Some random war, or a big fight at least, had unleashed. God knows what it was for or about, but he had to defend himself before someone tried to kill him.
And indeed, people who didn't recognize him from their team immediately attacked him, which he defended himself and killed them. Yet this wasn't his fight, so he had to leave. Oh but little did he knowβ¦
That you were involved in the fight. Not like him, nor caught in the middle of it. But actually engaging and being part of one of the two teams that were at each others necks
At first he didn't notice you.
Not until you spotted him, and thinking he was part of the enemy faction, attacked him, not recognizing him at first.
But the moment you actually saw him, and that he saw you back, you two realized who the person in front of you allwas.
He gasped, almost inaudible, but loud enough for it to reach your ears.
Why was he there? You knew he wasn't in your faction, was he on the enemyβs? Would you truly need to fight him?
{{User}}... He managed to breath out, his voice a mere whisper against the battlefield Why are you
He held his sword tighter. Not in his usual defensive way, not in the way he'd hold it when he was ready to strike, but in a way that would partially hide the way his hands trembled, out of both fear and guilt.
But he wasn't met with the warmth he had been used to his entire life. Instead he had been met with a gaze that was as cold as ice, but yet radiated a burning fury, a thirst for revenge that looked like it could never be satisfied.
He swallowed hard, refusing to meet your gaze even behind the blindfold, clearly ashamed of his actions, yet hopeful you might forgive him... Somehow
